Carter displayed an awestruck expression as he watched the male's two fingers twisting around one another to create one, and he just nodded as his eyes were filled with wonder, "how did you ever swing it?" He asked, of course wanting to hear the story about how him and the lord almighty becoming friends in the first place. Considering it had to deal with Tim he knew what happened next could go in two directions, he'd either just laugh it off or would seriously start a story while they walked, and of course with an imagination like his Carter could expect anything to happen. Maybe Tim was about to get sucked up by a cyclone and god hugged it tight and tossed it towards Montana or something, that thought having him giggle as he just waited for explanation. "Come on, my best friend can't be tight with the man upstairs without even telling me the story behind it-" he stopped dead in his tracks grabbing ahold of the mans arm to stop him and turn him to face Carter, "Could you?" He asked pouting, yeah he was pulling out all the stops right now. "His birthday?" He smirked as he thought of the perfect line for that one, "When exactly is it, January First, year one?" He burst out laughing finding it hilarious what he had just said, but of course Timothy might just end up correcting him about something instead of just letting him have his fun with this lame comment. Carter scrunched his nose up when he'd heard the insult, "Hey!" was all he'd said though as he just chuckled. Honestly what more could he do?
Carter knew that Timothy had been joking with him and that most everything he said had quite the opposite effect and rarely made sense, but what could he do about it? Absolutely nothing, it's not his fault that sometimes he just could not keep all of his thoughts in check and he'd blurt random ideas out without hammering out the details. He was glad when he looked over and all he could see the other doing was smiling though. He had always known that to be a good sign so at least Tim wasn't getting boring or bothered by Carter's stupidity. To distract though Carter did what he knew would work, and that was pout and look all depressed and mopey. He could not hold it long after he'd watched Timmy's hands dig into his pockets. He felt the nudge and laughed as he side stepped once or twice before moving back to close beside the other male, and just as he did so Timmy set up the scene in his mind with the cape leaping out from the bushes or something. He could see the man holding the cat like a football against his chest as he held the cape to cover most of his face leaving just his eyes visible. "You have to wear one of those badass superhero hats too, those huge ass ones!" For some reason the only thing he could think of right now that dealt with that had been Darkwing Duck, and as he thought about the duck he started to hum the opening tune as he just giggled. "I'd never be worried about the cat though because he'd love me," He couldn't figure out why though, possibly because his owner would put a good word in for him, or at least Carter had hoped he would.
Carter hadn't minded Tim coming right out and telling him that information, and he hadn't even frowned in the slightest after the man had said those things. "I'm not that dumb," He felt the need to tell the other that just so Tim wouldn't think he'd been completely hopeless. He might not have been the brightest crayon in the box, but he knew his basic shapes and street signs. He just laughed when his friend told him the bright idea that he'd had, but of course he could not answer right away as he had to pretend like he'd actually been thinking about it as a possible idea. He then burst out laughing as he clapped his hand on the other mans shoulder, "When have we ever known me to do anything that's legal and, dare I say it," He bit his bottom lip getting a nervous tremble as he leaned in real close to the other man to whisper the word, "responsible," in his ear before he burst out laughing once more pulling away so they could walk more comfortably towards their destination.
Carter had expected the man to start laughing so when he'd asked, with a rather straight face, if it'd be a problem Carter just looked at him wide eyed unsure of how he should answer that. He was seriously at a loss for words as he looked around frantically hoping that the answer to his question could be staring him in the face somewhere. He found that answer when he saw Timmy eventually break down into the laughter fit and he just let out a sigh of relief as he too started to laugh, "You seriously had me worried there, do you know that?" He asked still taking another breath of relief because he'd honestly gotten his heart racing with just that question. "I think I was about to have a heart attack right there," He took Tim's hand in his and brought it to his own heart so the other man could feel how much it'd been racing. Sure it might not make sense but he was sure he could come up with a random excuse. Truth be told excitement of any sort of something sexual with the other is what had his heart in a whirl. Carter then let Timmy move his hands so there'd been a larger gap as he watched the other step back and he examined both hands, "I think this could all be arranged." He nodded, of course he'd fill the damn car up with food leaving just a small hole for the both of them if that's what he'd needed to do.
"I'm not saying their important, i'm just saying that they're not as important as me." He knew that it might have sounded somewhat selfish but he just could not help himself. He had thought that he could rank higher than some food in Tim's book. "But as long as i'm in the car I guess i'm alright if i'm in the backseat, as long as you don't lock me in the trunk or something." He could not imagine having Timmy driving to some location with his body rattling around in the trunk, but then again for some reason while thinking about it he couldn't help but laugh. "You know I could kick those invisible punks asses," He of course would fight for a spot in the vehicle. "I might let them cut me once or twice though just to make you feel bad," He grinned pouting some in the others direction, "And then you'd have to pull over randomly to take care of my wounds. Do you really want that sort of pressure?" He asked with a grin knowing that his friend would hate for that to happen. "Yeah and just think, that hobo's stench would stay in the car long after mine would." He smirked nudging the other once more.
He loved how Tim could get just as excited as he had been when the neon sign came into view, but when he'd lost the other that had freaked him out somewhat. He sighed half expecting the other to pop out somewhere and scare him out of his wits or something, but instead he'd heard him infront and his eyes darted in the direction he'd been talking about and he noticed the small group of older women. "Yeah, you might have pissed them off and they'd end up knocking you out with one of their canes or something." He turned towards the building and looked at the side where they were getting ice cream right outside, "We can go over there or inside, what do you want?" He asked as he tried glancing at the board with all the flavors. One thing that had been hard to do was pick and choose between flavors, "No kidding," He chuckled wanting everything for himself as well, but of course even he knew his stomach wasn't that big. "We should get one huge ass boat thing with like twelve different flavors and just dig right in!" He wanted to drool but he restrained. He just hated having to choose, "One things for sure i'm getting sprinkles and lots of them!" [/blockquote]

" he began, pausing both for suspense and to buy time, " it's kind of the classic story. There was this really old man - grotesquely old - on the side of the road. Just kind of sitting there, looking sorry for himself. Oh, and he was wrapped in a cloak so that his face wasn't completely visible, but I could see his hands. His fingers were gnarled and wrinkly." Tim held his hands up, fingers bent at awkward angles in order to demonstrate how the man's hands had looked. Once he was done this, he continued: " He was really hunched over. And every time a person walked by, he would kind of look up at them and sort of reach out, almost like he needed help or something. Of course, he was so gross that no one paid attention to him, except to move away." At this, the corners of Tim's mouth turned down, almost as if he were incredibly saddened by the memory. " Since I am such a kind, caring person, I didn't try to avoid him. Instead, I asked if he needed anything. And then, he grabbed me!" Tim grabbed Carter's arm , squeezing it tightly and looking into his eyes with a burning gaze. " He stared into my eyes. It was freaky - I was physically unable to move. It was like the people on the street around me were moving in slow motion; they were just meaningless blurs," he released Carter, gesturing to their general surroundings, " and then he spoke. And his voice rumbled with the heaviness and weariness of - er - old thunder. And he replied: 'Do you need anything?'" Tim had returned his attention to Carter, gazing at him once more with feverish intensity. Then, almost as quickly as his story had overtaken him, he returned to normal. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he glanced away from his friend before looking back with a grin. " And then I realized it was God. After I got over the excitement of meeting the big man, we realized that we had a lot in common. We've been pretty close ever since," he marked his words with a casual shrug, as if the whole thing were no big deal. Tim rolled his eyes at Carter's joke, though it was probably true. Still, something a bit more philosophical would work better for this situation - so, with a heavy sigh, he regarded his friend. " Every day is God's birthday. He can have as many parties as he wants. But he's not greedy or anything, so he only celebrates like twice a month," he put on a knowing smile, still quite amused by their conversation. Of course, he laughed properly at Carter's reaction to his insult, pleased to have come up with it. When the other man mentioned a super hero hat, Tim's face lit up; he hadn't even thought of that! This was what he'd meant by Carter's being brilliant in 'other' ways. " Yes!" he exclaimed, nodding vigorously, " it'll have to be huge. Maybe a mask, too... kind of Zorro-esque." At hearing the theme his friend was humming, Tim laughed, communicating his agreement. " Or yeah, Darkwing Duck! Though, I don't think my cat would like me as much if I were a bird.." he pressed his lips together as he considered this. The cat was, quite obviously, the most important part of this whole thing. Nothing would be allowed to jeopardize the cat's good attitude toward Tim or overall presence in the villainous headquarters. Tim grinned as Carter voiced his hope for the cat loving him, nodding once more. " I don't see why my cat wouldn't love my favourite henchman!" he told him reassuringly. Tim felt a bit bad as Carter defended his smarts. He hadn't meant to sound condescending or anything. Hoping to make the other feel better, he wrapped his arm around his shoulders, giving the other man a quick squeeze before replying, " I know, I'm just kidding." He gave his friend a wide grin, not quite wanting to release him but knowing he would have to eventually. So, as Carter laughed at Tim's clever plan, he let his arm slip back to his side. At his friend's muttered, ' responsible,' Tim, too, began to chuckle. " You're right. That was a dumb idea, hey? I guess we'll just have to have a 'bail Carter out of jail' change jar. And a jar specifically for tickets.. maybe one for playing off police men, too. How does that sound?" Tim had always been known for his clever compromises. Carter's reaction to his joke made it even harder for Tim to maintain his serious expression, and he felt as if he might literally explode from holding back so much laughter. This was classic - no, priceless. This was what Carter got for making so many dirty jokes. Fortunately for the other man, Tim couldn't stay calm forever, and as they both laughed he felt tears form in the corners of his eyes. Even by the time Carter had managed to catch his breath enough to ask his question, Tim was still struggling to calm himself down. All he could do in reply was nod, gasping, " your.. face..." before bursting into another uncontrollable fit of giggles. Fortunately, as Carter forced Tim to feel his heart, Tim managed to turn his focus from the pure hilarity of previous events to making sure he hadn't just killed his best friend. Luckily, he could feel the faint beat of the other man's heart through his chest. " It's not that fast," he stuck his tongue out. It hadn't been going its normal rate, though. He nodded in reply to Carter's idea that the whole food thing could be arranged, glad that a method of payment had been determined. Tim raised an eyebrow as Carter claimed to be more important than food. " You seem awfully sure of that," he pointed out, smirking. Though it was entirely true. He laughed at the prospect of shoving Carter into the trunk, rather than letting him ride in the back seat, at least. " I dunno, I'll have an awful lot of groceries.." he joked. Once one of them got a car, they would probably end up riding in the trunk at least once; even a guy as responsible as Tim was still a guy, and he was kind of curious as to how it would feel. Plus, he knew that Carter would never leave him there. If there was anything he could be sure of in their strange relationship, it was that he could always trust his friend. He stuck his tongue out when the other man said he'd make Tim feel bad. Unfortunately, it would totally work. So, he simply responded with, " you're awful." Then, he nodded. " I'll make sure to keep a first aid kit in the car." He pretended to consider the other man's final comment, as if he might smell almost as bad as a hobo, then finally agreed. " I guess you're right," he sighed. Tim had the decency to look frightened at Carter's mention of canes, glancing briefly back toward the old women. " Exactly," he hissed, suppressing a shudder. There was just something about grandmothers and abnormal pain-inflicting abilities that seemed to go hand in hand. Just one of those funny facts of life, he supposed. As Carter mentioned their options, Tim shrugged - he honestly didn't care. He would be happy so long as Carter was by his side. " Whatever," he answered, " just as long as we get ice cream." His eyes widened as the other man described a 12-flavour 'boat,' and he couldn't help but gasp, " that would be awesome! I think I would explode, though.." Twelve scoops of ice cream was a lot. He narrowed his eyes at the mention of sprinkles; he'd never really like them. They just ruined the amazing texture of the ice cream with their crunchiness and whatnot. " Have as many sprinkles as you want, man. My ice cream will be al fresco. Aka, naked," he grinned, wiggling his eyebrows and making sure to define 'al fresco' for Carter's benefit. ooc 1500 words. Have fun with it =D[/ul]

Carter had hoped for a story and when he heard the well he couldn't help but grin knowing that he would soon be getting some. He looked at one of the street corners that had been coming up while the two walked as he tried to envision the man sitting there, and as Timothy showed him what his hands had looked like Carter could blink and almost see the visual right infront of him. He of course could see something like the Hunchback of Notre Dam, the cartoon one with the unibrow, and the thought had him giggling as he tried desperately to stay focused on the story at hand. As Carter watched the mans lips curve downwards he too found himself frowning as he thought of the poor man needing help. At this point he had NO idea where this story was going, but he hoped there would at least be a silver lining. Wait, of course there had to be considering this story had been the reason that his best friend and god were tight. Carter heard his friend start to talk again and couldn't wait to hear more, and he had once again been caught up in the story when his friend grabbed him startling Carter as he jumped some looking frantically over at the other. He loved how Tim was doing exactly what he'd been talking about in his story as he noticed the gaze and found himself drawn to it unable to break it for anything. He felt the grip on his arm diminish as he looked around at the crowds that had surrounded them quickening their paces to step around the males to contine on to their destination. His eyes widened as he heard Timothy speak the words of god, or at least the old man in the cloak who Carter had pegged as god now, and he stayed silent as he watched the posture and everything about Timmy change back to normal and out of story mode. "You and god have a lot in common? So that means that he'd love me too right?" He smirked before shrugging some, "Either that or he'd see just how much hell I put you through and call in the other big man on campus," He pointed below their feet stomping the ground some as he signified the devil, an evil somewhat sinister smirk coming across his lips as he looked over at his friend once more (he found himself doing that a lot lately).
He had wished that he could have cracked his friend up with that birthday joke, but instead when he'd noticed the roll of the eyes he just sighed before laughing at himself. At least he'd thought his lame joke had been funny and that's all that mattered. He needed to hear the laughter, even if it had been from himself, just to make him feel better and pat his ego some. Carter nodded as he started to think of the bi-monthly birthday bashes that god could have. "I bet those can get wild!" He smirked before he stopped walking and crossed his arms infront of his chest as he glanced up at the man beside him. "He has parties that often and you haven't invited me once?" He shook his head disappointed in the other, "And here I thought I meant something to you. I could have been your plus one Timmy, every invite comes with that plus one option! God has to agree with that." He pouted actually being rather convincing at the whole upset thing, or at least he'd thought he'd been doing a good job pulling off that emotion.
He loved how the conversation could shift from something like being best friends with god to having an evil lazer shooting from the eye cat, and yet it didn't seem to phase either of them as they simply went along with the conversation as though it was nothing different. He grinned proud that he could have came up with a good idea, at least it'd been better than the joked he'd just barely attempted earlier, but at the thought of a mask he furrowed his brows as he looked over at the man studying his face. "You can't hide all your freckles though," He shook his head, the freckles having been a dominant trait that Carter had loved about the others physical appearance. He knew that a small mask like Zorro's would not cover them up though so he'd be alright. "You have to keep it simple though or else it'd get complicated and just end up slowing you down," He thought about Timmy wearing a cape and then tripping on it while trying to run after a bad guy, or there had always been the popular 'cape caught in an escalator' bit, but where in the world did capes come from anyway as they had been talking about hats and masks. Damn him and his wandering mind. He shook his head though laughing at the idea of his cat chasing him around trying to chomp on a drumstick or something on him, "Yeah let's not have you as a bird or anything else that appears on the menu for a lazer vision cat." He shook his head refusing to let his friend be gobbled up because of turning into waterfowl. "Of course he has to love me, you'd only say good things about me so he couldn't NOT love me right?" He asked hoping that had made sense. It did to him though he sometimes had a hard time getting his point across.
Carter did feel much better after the quick squeeze from his companion, but as he could feel himself being released he'd almost wanted to throw his arms out and clamp them around Tim so the two wouldn't part. That might look weird though and coming at him like a claw might make Tim feel somewhat awkward, so instead Carter focused his attention on the traffic trying to take his mind off of how bad he'd wanted to be holding his friend right now. "We're going to have a house full of jars, better label them all, or maybe we'll just stuff them all in one room so I don't have to stare them in the face all the time." He looked over at Tim of course having no problem letting him know his plans of the future and a house for the two of them. He would of course have to get an apartment after school and of course his best mate would be free to live there with him, actually he'd prefer it, but that was not a chat for a time like this.
He had been thinking about their apartment, he'd call it that although it could be just him had Timmy went away to college (not that Carter wouldn't mind following him in a heartbeat), and that is why when Timmy had made the comment about Carter on his knees he'd been floored even more as his mouth hung low for a little while as he just watched his friend break out into a laughing fit. It took him a little longer than normal but he got the whole joke of it all too and started to laugh, but this one had been a lot more cautious and confused. "Huh?" He asked because he hadn't gotten to see his face, but from what was going through his mind he was sure the expression on his face must have been priceless. His laughter ceased as he'd placed his friends hand on his heart and looked over to watch him, "Not that fast? Any faster and i'd fall down dead!" He pointed to the ground to show him where he'd specifically fall, not that it wasn't obvious.
Carter had hated letting his friends hand go but knew he had to for right now at least. "I am," Carter spoke confidently and proudly as he just smirked over at the other, of course he knew he had to at least be somewhat more important right? "You wouldn't have came to New Jersey with me if I wasn't more important than food. Just think, you're coming and eating that nasty food they serve instead of your mothers," Carter had LOVED Tim's mothers cooking more than most anything, but maybe it had something to do with her being the only one that'd ever really given him a proper home cooked meal. He thought about it for a moment and started to miss home, nothing about his life of course, but he did miss Tim's family after everything they had done for him. If he'd missed them like this he could only imagine what Tim had been going through when he thought of it, so absent-mindedly Carter put his arm around the others shoulder pulling him in for a quick hug while the two walked. He smirked as Tim called him awful though and couldn't help but burst out laughing, "Isn't that one of the things you love about me?" He teased wiggling his eyebrows some in a playful manner. "I'm always right, if only the teachers around school knew that." He rolled his eyes still being nothing more than playful.
When the two had met up he grinned and looked at either the door or the window to order, "How about inside?" He asked as he walked over towards the parlor door and opened it up motioning for his friend to enter before him. "Well we can't have that happen now can we?" He asked chuckling when the other expressed that he'd burst. The two got to the counter as he watched a little kid jumping around picking out the ice cream flavors she'd wanted stuffed into the cone in the persons hand behind the counter. Carter never understood why Tim did not like sprinkles as he'd loved them, and he'd remembered a few times where he'd begged him to try some to persuade him to join the 'sprinkles alliance' or something incredibly lame like that. He was younger at the time though so he'd blame that on his age though it 's obvious he was still just as lame on a daily basis. He watched as the people infront paid and left the counter as it'd been their turn, "Can I have a-" He stopped having NO idea what ice cream he'd want to eat as there had been so many choices. "Does that seriously taste like cotton candy?" He asked pointing at one that'd been labeled 'cotton candy', and then he saw little candy bits in it. "What are those?" He could literally feel his mouth starting to salivate as he pointed excitedly at the ice cream right there, "Two scoops of that on a waffle cone please," Since there had been candy bits he wouldn't need sprinkles but he just HAD to try this ice cream since he'd never before. "And whatever my friend wants here, it's on me." He grinned looking over at Timmy cupping his shoulder with his hand as he chuckled some looking at the others face. "Mmmm thanks," He spoke as he took the ice cream piled high, what looked to be more than two scoops, and stuffed it in his face taking a big bite of it instead of licking as it'd been lumpy and out of whack right now.
notes ; sorta glad you had been camping because this took me a little while to reply to haha! [/blockquote]

" he admitted. He couldn't imagine being separated from Carter in this life, let alone the afterlife. It almost frightened him, to imagine them being apart for all eternity... hopefully, God wouldn't let that happen. As Carter referred to the devil as the 'other big man on campus' and stomped the ground, though, Tim's pointless anxiety dissipated and he began to laugh. " It could honestly go either way," he realized. He smirked when his friend laughed at his own joke. Tim would be lying if he said he didn't find the man's antics to be adorable, though he would hardly let on that this was the case. Tim's jaw dropped open when Carter mentioned God's parties 'getting wild,' but he quickly recovered, struggling to stay cool. " Oh, yeah. A couple of years ago, Saint Peter had too much Holy Elixir. That was awkward to watch. But also hilarious," he giggled to himself, not having any idea who Saint Peter was or if the Holy Elixir even existed. Oh, if only his mother could hear their conversation now. When Carter pointed out that he hadn't been invited to any of God's parties, Tim felt his stomach flip-flop. Crap, he hadn't thought about that. Face clearly displaying the horror at having his secret life of hanging with the big man exposed, he gulped quite audibly, fixing Carter with a worried look. " Oh, uh, erm... well see, I - I -" not a single excuse came to mind. Fortunately, there was always the option of apologizing. " I'm sorry!" he wailed, throwing himself onto his friend in a highly apologetic (and highly enthusiastic) hug. " I promise I'll bring you next time! I didn't think you'd be interested..." A lame excuse, but an excuse nonetheless. And it had taken him all of two minutes to come up with it. As Tim disentangled himself from Carter, he listened to him continue speaking. When he mentioned covering up the freckles, Tim's face mirrored Carters', his brow also furrowing as he tried to puzzle through that problem. To tell the truth, he often forgot about his freckles. They'd just always been there, and he was sort of used to them. It hadn't occurred to him that other people might think to use them as a means of identifying his villain self. He scowled, looking down at the street and shoving his hands into his pockets. " Great. Now I can't be Zorro. I'll have to wear a lame mask like Spider Man," he realized woefully. This thought sucked the fun out of being a super-anything. As the conversation moved to the cape, Tim forced himself to brighten up. " Yeah, it can't be too long, because I'll obviously fall on it," he said, partly to himself, " but it can't be too short because that would just look stupid. I'm thinking more calf-length." He looked over at Carter with a questioning expression, wondering if that would be an appropriate length for his garment. When his friend brought up his argument against Tim being anything bird-related, Tim nodded in agreement. " That would be unfortunate. I'm glad you thought of that," he beamed over at the other man, fully appreciating his input. Just another bit of proof that Carter really was smart. Though, why Tim was having this debate with himself he didn't even know. Amazingly, he understood the man's next sentence. " Well, yes. Just as long as you do as you're told and get the job done, no harm will come to you. Not that I'm threatening you with my laser-vision cat or anything," he chuckled, the slightest evil glint apparent in his eye. When Carter mentioned that they would have a house full of jars, Tim nodded once more. He didn't even catch on to the whole 'living together in the future' thing, it just felt so natural to him. Though, he had to disagree when his friend spoke of putting all the jars out of sight. " Oh, no," he shook his head, raising an eyebrow and grinning slightly, " we'll put them where you can see them. As a reminder of how much you can get away with before they get empty." So if the bail-out jar were empty, Carter would (hopefully) know enough to stay out of trouble until it had some money in it again. Or Tim would just have to take some from one of the lesser-used jars. As Carter pointed to where he would, presumably, collapse, Tim shrugged. " I think someone's being a bit over-dramatic," he said in a superior tone, patting his friend on the back. It crossed his mind that he really should control himself better. Sure, it was just a friendly pat, and it was just on the back, but every time he touched Carter it was like his own heart was about to have an attack. Plus, it always left him wanting more. Tim lowered his hand, biting his lip. How had he gotten himself into this mess again? When Carter mentioned Tim's mother's cooking, his stomach grumbled and a wave of homesickness threatened to wash over him. Hoping to keep it at bay, he looked over at Carter, reminding himself once more why he'd come. Of course, since it would be weird to just stare at his best friend, he added a smile and said, " fine. I guess, if it were just you or the food, life-or-death situation, I'd have to save your sorry ass. Then at least we could starve together." Luckily, Tim wouldn't have to make that decision for real - he could have both. That single thought made him feel considerably better, but it was Carter's hug that did the trick. Tim glanced over at him, getting the feeling that his friend knew exactly what had been going on in his mind a few moments before. At least I didn't leave all of my family behind, he smiled to himself. Tim had always seen Carter as being part of his family. When he wasn't seeing him as much more. Tim stuck his tongue out at Carter as he jumped at being right. " Oh, yes. I can see it now: 'but two plus two is seventeen! I'm right! I'm always right!" he made the level of his voice higher in an attempt to mimic Carter's younger self. His friend wasn't quite that stupid, but that had been the point - if he over-exaggerated, he wouldn't have to worry about offending anyone. Not that the other man would have been, anyway. Tim had a strange feeling that there wasn't much he could do to actually piss Carter off. " Inside sounds good," he agreed with an excited expression, eagerly stepping through the door which Carter had opened. He shook his head at his friend's words. No, they certainly did not want any bursting Timmys happening. That wouldn't be fun for anybody. He grinned at the small child ahead of them in line; were it socially acceptable, he would be right up there jumping around, too. In fact, he was practically vibrating with excitement at having an actual ice cream cone, anyway. He didn't even know what flavour to choose - there were so many. At Carter's excitement over the cotton candy ice cream, Tim suppressed a high-pitched giggle. He hadn't even eaten his cone yet and he was already hyper. It was probably that ice-cream shoppe smell - they always seemed to smell like this. Like cones, and cream, and... well, ice... Tim was startled from his thoughts by the person across the counter's expectant gaze. " Oh!" he exclaimed, looking around and realizing that it was his turn. He stepped up to the ice cream display, peering in, eyes darting from flavour to flavour in search of the perfect one. Soon, enough, he let out a gasp, grinning excitedly. " Two scoops of the root beer flavour on a waffle cone!" he ordered. A few agonizing moments later, the treat was in his hand. " Thanks!" he called to their server, who was already with the next customer. Then, he licked his ice cream, staring wide-eyed at his friend. Timothy plus ice cream plus, in this case, root beer, equalled hours of excitement. ooc hah, they just keep getting longer and longer..[/ul]

"He has to," He nodded his head in a matter of fact manner, "He just has to. Everyone has to like me, i'm Carter." He made it sound like he'd been better than everyone else when in reality he knew that hadn't been true. He liked to have a high opinion of himself, but most of the time it had been nothing more than joking. He liked to believe that he was a great person and that everyone would want a friendship with him, but he knew that he was no better than anyone else and shouldn't act that well. The only thing he had an advantage on had been money and that did not make someone a better person. If anything that made them even worse as their attitudes always reflected their wealth, and that could make just about anyone a straight up asshole. "I'm sure they could make an exception for me, or at least for you since they know how much you love me and all." He grinned using the term love as in friendship, of course knowing that Tim would probably never love Carter in more than just a friendship / brotherly role.
Carter and Tim worked well together, Carter could set any joke up and usually his best friend could knock it right out of the park. This one, about gods wild parties, had been no exception as he couldn't help but burst out thinking about a Saint doing something that'd make other people awkward. Sure he'd had no idea what he had done but he could only imagine, "That holy elixer stuff's gotta be stronger than vodka and all that down here, wow," His eyes widened as he thought about how strong a hard beverage would have to be for god and his saint friends, and from there he could feel his mouth swelling with water as he'd wanted desperately to try that kind of drink. "I am such a lush," He shook his head, even thinking about a made up elixer had his mouth watering. Now that was rather sad in his book that he could get so excited for some super powerful elixer. Of course Carter had no idea who Saint Peter had been either, but he refused to ask knowing that it'd be just another way of showing his friend he's not as intelligent as him. Carter shook his head crossing his arms in a disapproving manner as he watched him try to come up with some excuse, and he was glad that he had caught him dumbfounded, but as soon as his friend threw himself into Carter he couldn't help but move his arms around him and pull him into a hug. "At least you said sorry, and we all know that sorry makes everything all better." Of course that were not the case normally, but with Tim he usually let the man slide, but then Tim wasn't the type to mess up drastically so he never had to think about it too much. "Not be interested? Pfft-" he hugged his friend pulling him off of him to stand him up straight, "You better not forget me next time."
Carter listened and thought of what his friend would look like wearing a spiderman mask. He had such a beautiful face but the best feature had to be his eyes and the freckles scattered all about. He would love to tell the other that no matter the mask it wouldn't matter because his eyes were what would steal Carter's attention everytime, but instead he just giggled. "You'd have to find someone for one of those epic upside down mack sessions," He smirked of course remembering the scene in the rain. "I might be up for the challenge, you'd have to check my date book though," He puckered up his lips to blow a kiss to his friend, this being all part of his charmingly foolish plan. Of course he had no problem making jokes about making out with Tim, but of course it was upsetting that he had to keep playing it off as a joke in the first place. He was dead serious and to think that his friends lips could be landing on someone elses? Oh that thought just did not sit well with him, he could get rather jealous very easily. He nodded about the cape, "Yeah, I could see you doing that at the worst possible minute," He kept giggling now as he could hear his friend actually contemplating the best length, "Calf might work, just watch out that it doesn't get stuck in a door or something," He could see Tim trying to run out of a building just to have the fabric caught and him pulled back choking. It was rather sad but at the same time he couldn't help but laugh once more. He was also glad that Tim was taking his other ideas and suggestions and putting them to good use, but when he made the comment about 'not threatening him' Carter could see that evil look in his eye and his eyes widened, "You wouldn't dare!" He mouthed slowly as if almost challenging him.
Carter closed his eyes for a second cupping his hand on Tim's shoulder so he wouldn't run into anything as he envisioned a whole ton of jars laying scattered across the house that would pay for his tickets and all the other foolish nonsense he would get himself into. He smirked as he heard Tim speak, "So pretty much when one of the jars starts to get empty I just go take out a big bill from the bank, break it into a bunch of change, and throw it back in there like I never used it? How's that for cheating the system," He smirked having felt very clever for coming up with something like that. "On second though maybe I should let you hold onto my bank card when that starts to happen, you can be in charge of the finances." He chuckled having the conversation as though they were some married couple needing jobs around the house. "Over dramatic? This coming from the man who just dropped to the ground a little while ago to make a point? Come on, i'm not the only over dramatic one in this group," He nudged the other giving him a wink as he chuckled, he'd honestly saw nothing wrong with being the way they were.
Carter never really thought of the homesick feeling that his friend must get everytime Carter would bring up his mother, or really anything that they'd had back in New York that they were apart from here. Tim had a whole family away from Carter and here he was being jealous dragging him down to New Jersey forgetting about them all. He sighed some as he started to think of amazing things he could do, or at least one amazing thing, to make Tim feel better about being here with him. He could possibly get the others family up for a visit, even if just for the weekend, but having them for just two or so days and having to part with them again soon, well would that make the sickness even worse? He sighed knowing there wasn't much he could do, he just hoped he'd been worth it and wasn't torturing the other guy. "I knew you had a soft spot for me, you couldn't just leave me there to starve alone. The fact that you'd starve right beside me shows me how much you care," He placed his own hand over his heart as though truly touched before breaking out in laughter moments later.
"Come on, i'm not that bad," He smirked when he heard the joke that his friend had just made, "Or am I?" He cocked an eyebrow before he shook his head once more, "No, I am definitely not like that." He chuckled, he could see himself fighting with a teacher over something stupid like that just to bug them though, and most of the time the teachers would just give up on him and move on in the class. Either that or they would simply dismiss him and he would have to go sit in the principals office. That idea gave him nothing more than a groan as he rolled his eyes at the thought of it all, some teachers just couldn't take a joke. He had to giggle at the mans high pitched voice though as it was doing anything BUT justice for him.
He grinned as he opened the door for the other as the two entered the parlor, the smiles on peoples faces gleaming at them as they sat around munching on their ice cream and cold treats. Carter had grown too excited as he received his cone and watched as his friend leaned over to make his order. He watched as his friend glanced around and as his facial expression dawned a bright gaze he knew he had found what he'd wanted, and as Tim explained the root beer Carter could see his stomach grumbling. "Like serious?" He asked looking around until the ice cream stared at him in the face, "I think i've just found heaven," There were just so many ice cream choices that he could burst with happiness, but as he took another lick of his cotton candy one he had known he'd made the right decision. It of course did not taste exactly like cotton candy, but at the same time it tasted delicious and the candy bits were amazing. "We should sit down I guess," He grinned as he looked around as now the both of them had been served and he'd paid the man. He found a spot in the corner and let out a sigh of relief as he rushed over to sit in the seat before someone else could, and he motioned for his friend to follow. He was unsure of how long he could actually sit in this one place, but for right now he was going to at least try to do it. [/blockquote]

Carter, aren’t you?” he repeated, as if realizing it for the first time, “ looks like mister laser cat doesn’t have a choice, then.” In reality, Tim could see his evil cat and Carter having more of a tolerating relationship; they wouldn’t like each other, but they’d deal with each other for Tim’s sake. Because he was just that important. He raised an eyebrow as if thinking about the possibility of an exception being made for Carter, then shrugged, looking over at his friend. “ I guess so. I might have to call in a few favors, though.” He smirked. Were the situation real, he’d probably do pretty much anything to have the other man be present – after all, while Carter clearly meant ‘love’ in a bromantic way, Tim actually did feel that particular emotion for his friend… at least, he was quite sure he did. He was hardly old enough to know what love was for certain, but this feeling had to be pretty close. Tim almost felt that he should mutter a silent apology to whatever greater power existed, just in case his words had been somehow sinful. He couldn’t imagine that someone as almighty as God wouldn’t have a sense of humor (especially considering all the funny people he’d made), but one could never be sure, and it was better safe than sorry in any case. Tim eyed Carter as the other man talked about the ‘holy elixir.’ If such a drink existed, he certainly wouldn’t be bringing his friend anywhere near it; who knows what sort of mischief he would get up to then? Tim had enough trouble keeping track of him in a regular, human setting. Among the Gods, it would be a whole different ball game. “ Well, yeah, it is the Holy Elixir,” he pointed out matter-of-factly. Then, he narrowed his eyes as if trying to recall something. “ I’m not sure they let mortals drink it, though – powerful stuff.” Not that that would stop Carter from trying it, of course. He giggled when his friend called himself a lush, shaking his head slightly. As Carter’s arms wrapped around him, a broad smile spread across Tim’s face. Almost instinctively, he felt his body respond to the strangely at-home feeling. And even though the night wasn’t particularly cold, the embrace was a welcome warmth. He gave Carter a slight squeeze back as his friend spoke. “ Within reason,” he added to the comment about being sorry – a sort of reminder that there could be such a thing as too many sorrys. That there were only so many chances in the world. Hopefully, they would be able to figure something out before they reached that point. As Carter released him, Tim gave him a sort of half-smile, raising an eyebrow. “ Oh, I didn’t forget you. How could I do something like that?” He tried to make it seem slightly sarcastic, as if forgetting Carter had been the real reason for his failure to invite him to a Holy Party, but was careful to maintain a note of seriousness. A subtle hint about his true feelings for the other man. Tim wrinkled his nose as the upside-down makeout scene from Spiderman ran through his mind. Now, that had just been awkward. And kind of gross-looking. He would never understand why his sisters thought it was so romantic, or why they’d felt the need to replay it several times before continuing on to the more interesting, violent stuff. Fiercely, he fought to keep from blushing when Carter offered himself for the role of Mary Jane. He knew it was a joke, but he desperately wished it were true. Not that he’d want to copy that particular scene, anyway. Even with the guy he was sort-of-maybe in love with, he still wouldn’t enjoy the weirdness of it. “ Nah, that’s a lame kiss scene. If I were to re-do any, I’d take that ocean one from the Notebook.” Tim knew far too many things about romantic movies. It was downright embarrassing, and if he were talking to anyone but Carter, he would’ve kept that fact a secret. He stuck his tongue out when his friend blew him a kiss. He considered doing the whole ‘grabbing it out of the air and holding it to his heart’ thing like he’d seen on TV, but figured it might be a bit much. Tim wasn’t much into the soppy PDA side of relationships. “ Yeah,” he replied to the other man. It was the sort of thing Tim would do at a bad moment. He grimaced at the thought of getting stuck in a door with his cape; that was always a bad place to have one’s most important evil garment caught. Especially if you were running away from someone. “ Ugh, then I’d have to stop, turn around, open the door, pull my cape out, shut the door and start running again. By then, my enemies will have me handcuffed and in the nearest police car. I say we scratch the cape.” That was obviously the easiest course of action. When Carter claimed that Tim wouldn’t dare, Tim simply laughed evilly. “ Wouldn’t I?Tim glanced over, giving Carter an exasperated look at the realization that the other man was closing his eyes in order to imagine the jar scene. Really, the two of them were just not normal. He considered guiding the other man toward a pole and having him run into it while his eyes were shut, but decided against it; this time, he would let Carter have his daydream in peace. He sighed as Carter came up with a plan for cheating the system. “ The point is, you learn to be more responsible by seeing how irresponsible you are… or something,” he shrugged, grinning. He had no ideas what jars of money had to do with teaching someone responsibility, especially someone as anti-learning as his best friend seemed to be. He nodded at the other man’s next words. “ Yeah, that’d probably be for the best. In fact, maybe I should just hold onto your bank card all the time…” he raised an eyebrow, smiling at this plan. Tim coughed as Carter brought up his recent display of dramatics, grinning and trying to appear at least somewhat ashamed of himself. “ It needed to be done,” he defended weakly. Tim broke out in laughter long before Carter finished his little apologetic display. “ Yeah, starving together… that’s what friends are for,” he nodded wisely. It seemed like an appropriate saying given the circumstances. He shoved his friend playfully at the other man’s implication that, maybe, he was that bad, then smirked. As childish and difficult as Carter could be, Tim would love him no matter what. Sure, he would try to inspire the man to be a bit more mature, but he couldn’t imagine a mature Carter being as much fun as the current one. Besides, if he didn’t have to watch his companion like a hawk, what would Timothy spend his time doing? Tim nodded vigorously in agreement with Carter. “ Definitely. This is basically what God’s – er – palace? Looks like,” he added, referring to his supposed closeness with God. Though, his uncertainty about what sort of housing arrangement the big man had brought serious question to this claim. “ We need to come back here and try every flavor. It’ll be our senior year quest.” And what an accomplishment it would be to complete such a quest. He laughed as Carter dashed for an available seat, being sure to hustle after him. To tell the truth, Tim was really excited about their laser tag game, and more than eager to be on his way. But it would be nice to take a quick break. Especially in a place that smelled so good. As he sat, he looked around them, still in awe at the existence of such a perfect frozen dessert haven, right in the middle of a city that had, until recently, seemed barely remarkable. He licked his ice cream slowly, savoring the taste and letting out a satisfied, “ Mmm. Have you ever tasted anything so good?” he elaborated.[/ul]

A huge grin spread across Carter's face as he watched his friend make that realization. "You're just barely figuring this all out?" He sighed shaking his head crossing his arms infront of his head with a disappointed look, "How could you forget how epic and amazing I am?" He shook his head rolling his eyes, "And here I thought you were my best friend," He made it sound as though he had been overly disappointed, but soon he couldn't help but let a huge grin appear letting Tim know that he was just joking. He knew he cared about his friendship, but of course he wished that it'd been much more than that, but in the end he had to take what he could get so he just dealt with it. "Did you honestly think he would?" He asked with a smirk looking over at him, "That cat having any hard feelings against me?" He shook his head, the only way that could happen is if he had hurt Tim in some way, and he could not see himself doing that willingly. To hurt Tim would be the worst thing that he could do, but he knew that there would be those times when he'd hurt him somewhat. Like tonight, no he had not hurt the mans feelings at all tonight, but it had all started because of what he'd done when they were together before. He had upset him and it'd killed Carter to know that, so he had to go all out to make him feel better, and from the grin on his face he had a feeling he'd accomplished just that. "Favors?" He laughed throwing his hands up in the air and letting them drop to his sides, "I'm that bad that you have to call in favors just to get me in?" He sighed shaking his head, all the while holding back some laughter.
Carter's eyes started to sparkle as he thought more about the holy elixer. He could imagine that it's taste would be something that he couldn't even explain. He bet it would be sweet, but would it be too sweet for mortals? He frowned but soon his eyes were filled with lust once more for the drink that was surely out of this world, literally considering it'd been up in the heavens. His mind was starting to cloud with all these exciting ideas about what this elixir could taste like or do to a person, his favorite guess being it'd give him god like status for a while and he'd either be super strong or some other god-like power, but as he heard what his friend had to say next that grin fell from his face and it'd been replaced with a frown, and a very large one at that. "You're kidding right? They couldn't stop me, I mean i'd just have to have a sip, even if it killed me." He smirked looking over at his friend. Tim had to know that he would do whatever it took to get a sip of that drink that would be probably the best thing he'd ever taste. "So maybe you should hold those favors until after I take that drink and am laying all dead and stuff on the floor or something. Maybe the big man upstairs could breathe in life to me or something, i'm sure you have favors enough saved up for at least one miracle right? He laughed batting his eyelashes as he cupped his hands under his chin to look super adorable, or at least it would have been the case had he been a woman but still he'd hoped he'd turned out alright.
Now Carter could do this all the time and never get tired of it. He loved having his arms around Tim, something about their bodies touching just gave him a thrill, so of course as he stood with his arms around him in an embrace he couldn't help but grin. He of course made times like this out to look like they were for Tim's benefit, but what he was too afraid to admit had been that it was also for his own benefit. He needed that touch from the other man, he needed to feel their skin against one anothers, and he knew that there would come a certain time when he realized he just needed to be with this man, and he also knew that when that happened it would probably complicate everything. He did not want to complicate things with Tim but there would be one day when he just couldn't hold his feelings in anymore, and what would happen when that time came? "I guess you're right," He told his friend smiling. He knew he had probably given the man too many sorry's in his day, but he hoped that Tim still accepted them from him. He felt bad that he had given the man too many excuses in the past, and as he brought them all up in his mind he released his friend and walked beside him. "Just checking," He grinned having a feeling his friend had been right, there was no forgetting him, and although he could hear the sarcasm he looked right past it, that toothy grin showing all across his face.
His mouth dropped open slightly when he heard Tim call the kiss scene from Spiderman lame. Okay so maybe it was a little lame, Carter having wondered if it'd be awkward having one person upside down as it must throw the rhythm off, but still when he heard his friend bring up the Notebook he had to start laughing. "You're calling the Spiderman one lame and bringing up the Notebook? Are you serious?" He then stopped to think about it, that had been one of those movies that Tim had sat him down to watch once, and although Carter hated to admit it he did shed a tear or two. He had hoped that his friend had never seen them, and if he had been called on them he would surely make up some random excuse or something like having dust in the eye, but still he knew what kiss he'd been talking about, sort of. He had to maintain some manliness so he just shrugged, "Eh, they were a hotter pair, i've give them that." Something about that scrawny guy playing Spiderman just had him laughing, he should have definitely been a bit more ripped for the costume in Carter's opinion. Someone like, well like him he smirked as he looked down at his muscle definition, or lack thereof, and that smirk fell as quick as it had formed. Carter's mind had been trailing off towards the glamorous life of superheros when he had heard Tim talk about how he'd have to handle his cape getting caught in the door, and sure enough Carter just grinned and nodded looking at the other man. "Scratch the cape, well unless if I just wait outside in a stolen police car. They could strap you in thinking that they were doing something good, and then we can laugh as I stomp on the gas and blow smoke in their face." He burst out into a fit of evil laughter before quickly piping his mouth shut as he peered out at the people now looking in their direction, "We need to be quieter, our enemies could be everywhere." What was the point in having an awesome ass plan if someone was going to overhear and ruin the entire thing? He just snickered as he shook his head, what was with all this superhero and supervillian chat lately? He had a feeling a trip to a comic book convention or something was next, all these thoughts filing his mind with pleasant ideas. Carter cocked an eyebrow as he looked over at the other stopping his walking for a moment, "You couldn't," He sounded sure as he smirked. Obviously this would go nowhere as there was no real laservision cat, but the idea was fun to toy around with.
Carter was thankful that his friend hadn't done anything to deter him from his fantasy, but as he gave him the lesson of it all Carter just looked at him more curious and confused than anything. "Huh?" He said opening his eyes as he looked over at Tim trying hard not to laugh, "Learn to be responsible by getting to be irresponsible? That could work," So maybe he didn't understand where Tim was going with that, maybe he had heard him wrong, but then again he'd probably heard him right and just changed the mans words around to make it appeal to him more. Honestly Carter had wished that he could learn to be more responsible with his life, he'd love to get a good job and be able to settle down without having to rely on the parents he could care less about, but that just never seemed to be in the cards for him. That is why he had loved spending time with Timothy so much, Carter could be as reckless as he'd wanted knowing that around Tim he'd have to calm down. Tim was his saving grace, but it wasn't like he could admit that to him or anything. At least not sober like this, he'd have to get pretty drunk to thank him for everything because he'd be afraid it'd label him as weak. Obviously Tim couldn't find that a good quality in a person could he? Carter figured he'd just been a sucker for a hard luck case or something. Tim was so much better than him and yet he hung out and cherished their friendship, and that is something that Carter could never understand. "But then I wouldn't get to go out whenever I want and i'd have to-" He gasped grabbing ahold of Tim's sleeve as though he was petrified of something, "study and stay indoors." He shivered at the thought as a chill raced down his spine. "It's alright, I understand." He regained his composure smiling at his friend as he let go of his sleeve so he could walk comfortably.
"I could think of a few more things friends are around for," He wiggled his eyebrows playfully as he wrapped an arm around the others shoulder to draw him in close. "Organ donations, with all this booze my livers gonna be shot around the time i'm-" He had to think about it but honestly had no idea, but to complete his thought he at least randomly picked a number, "30 or so," He nodded as he poked Tim in the side where he'd figured the liver would be, but honestly he'd had NO idea where the organ had been in the body, and obviously he was just doing this to joke around until the two reached the ice cream parlor. "Keeping it nice and warmed up for me, I see." He wiggled his eyebrows in another manner as he tried to keep serious, and honestly he'd done a rather good job before that stupid wide grin broke across his face and he was rolling with laughter. Not literally of course, Carter rolling on the ground would be a hilarious sight and all, but this was more figurative as he wiped a tear from his eyes.
Stepping into the ice cream shop he had forgotten about the whole gods best friend deal, but as soon as Tim had brought it up again Carter was laughing so hard once again. He loved laughing and that was one thing that Tim honestly could make him do at any given time. Pretty much the man could open his mouth and out would come laughter, Carter just couldn't help himself, he was drunk almost on the love he had for the man, and no matter how lame and lousy that'd sounded that's how Carter had seen things. "He has a palace? Eh, at least it's not a trailer." He chuckled thinking to a trailer park, this image of god wearing overalls and a truckers hat coming to his mind, and sure enough he was laughing once more. He honestly had the dumbest images most of the time, but he couldn't help himself. If something sounded funny he'd do whatever it took to try to bring that image to life. He nodded looking over the flavors with wide eyes, "Deal?" He asked, seeing if his friend would want to make it official. Carter would supply the cash if that'd meant that the two would get time alone together. He knew that around campus they both were going to make friends and all, but to know that there would be time specifically set aside for just the both of them...well that meant the world to Carter, and if it'd meant coming back to try each and every flavor he could manage that. He found the perfect place to sit down as he had his ice cream in his hand, and as he heard Tim from across from him he just nodded. "Your moms blueberry pies," He chuckled looking over at Tim before taking a bite of his ice cream, too impatient for the licking. "You know the ones with the super thin crust that she'd make special for me because I used to waste the crust all the time? And she'd load it with those delicious freshly picked blueberries." Or at least they said freshly picked on the carton, it'd be one of those things where Carter would come over with the ingredients and they'd bake. Yes, he was a pansy when it came to Tim's mom, and he loved her more than he probably should, but in his mind that woman was already like his mother, but not in a way that'd make his love for Tim seem awkward or anything. He was confusing himself so he opened his mouth and stuffed the ice cream in it probably making a mess, but at least it was keeping him quiet and that was all that mattered.
ooc. tada! haha, my muse decided to have a field day so don't mind this post, haha. [/blockquote]

" He tapped the side of his head with his finger, as if to indicate exactly where the slip had happened, then grinned. At Carter's apparent disappointment, though, Tim had the decency to be a bit more compassionate. " I am," he assured the other man, placing a hand on Carter's shoulder in a comforting manner. He was vaguely aware of the fact that he was making physical contact with Carter more than usual tonight, but rather than be uncertain as to what the consequences would be and unsure about how his friend would respond, he let himself enjoy it. It felt good to be more obvious about his feelings. Whether or not they were returned. Like a relief, almost - a weight off his shoulders. He was tired of being 'just a friend,' and while he wasn't quite ready to take the step of actually telling Carter, he was definitely on his way there. " Well, I'm so awesome I can't really see the two of you being willing to share me," Tim revealed, pretending to be slightly offended that Carter hadn't realized this himself. He joined in the other man's laughter over calling in favours and nodded. " We-ell..." he gave his friend a meaningful look, remembering countless incidents which could have negatively influenced God's opinion of Carter. Tim continued watching Carter as the man thought about the Holy Elixir. He also continued being unbelievably thankful that such a drink did not exist. At least, not to mortal knowledge, despite the claims of some alcohol companies concerning the quality of their products. Tim frowned at his friend's next words, forehead wrinkling slightly as his eyebrows scrunched together. " I don't about cashing in all my favours in one night. And to save your sorry ass, no less!" His expression brightened and he laughed, shoving his hands into his pockets. Despite the promised warmth of summer, the evenings were still slightly cold. In fact, Tim actually preferred winter's cold over summer's cold. In winter, you expected cold; it was always there, an honest - if slightly uncomfortable - presence. But in summer, when you spent the entire day melting in the intense heat, any moment of cold was a sort of sly cruel surprise. Thinking about it hardly helped. Tim shivered in spite of himself, looking over to see if Carter felt it or if he was just being a pansy. He rolled his eyes at the other man's attempt to be cute, despite the fact that Carter looked absolutely adorable no matter what he did. Tim buried his head in Carter's shoulder and willed the moment to stretch on forever. He didn't exactly know when he'd first realized that what he felt for Carter was more than just brotherly love. It might've been after their first kiss, or he might have been subconsciously aware of it even before then... he'd sort of woken up one morning and suddenly been able to identify which had always been there, and moments like this only cemented his trust in the fact that they were meant for more. He wanted nothing more than to just tell his friend. Right now. He could pull away slightly, look him in the eye, and whisper those three easy words: 'I love you.' There was nothing to it. And, in a perfect world, Carter's eyes would shine would joy and he would reply, 'I thought you'd never man up enough to admit it' or something arrogant like that, and they could kiss - a real, passionate kiss, without question or worry - and go back to the hotel and, well... Unfortunately, reality came crashing back as the other man spoke, and Tim had no choice but to release him with a small smile. It wasn't fair, to let his uncontrollable emotions affect his mood, but he couldn't help feeling a bit melancholy. Though, at Carter's grin, Tim immediately felt better. At least the man would always be in his life, even if it wasn't in the way Tim would've preferred. Tim raised an eyebrow at Carter's shock, wondering if his friend actually thought the Spiderman kiss scene was romantic. As the other man started laughing, Tim gave him an only slightly hard punch in the arm and pretending to be upset over his reaction. " Don't pretend you didn't love it. I saw how much kleenix you used," he chided, smirking. So maybe Carter hadn't cried that much, and Tim had certainly been too focused on the movie to pay attention to whether or not he'd needed any kleenix, but still. How could anyone not love the Notebook. " Yeah they were!" he cried triumphantly as Carter gave the film at least that one compliment. He raised an eyebrow as the other man looked at himself and appeared disappointed. " Spiderman can practically fly, though, so I guess that would be cool..." he pointed out, wondering if his friend was actually comparing himself to the wimpy actor who played the superhero. He nodded enthusiastically at Carter's suggestion about the police car. " That's a brilliant idea! Then, they won't even be able to chase us," he grinned. Of course, having seen an awful lot of movies, he soon came up with a problem. Chewing on his lip, he added thoughtfully, " but what if the police car has a homing device or something?" Then, the men in blue wouldn't even need to worry. They could just drop down on him and Carter whenever the opportunity arose and slap them in jail. That thought drifted from his mind as the primary concern of being overheard took over. He glanced around quickly, nodding. " Right. We'll save it for when we're alone." In playful retaliation to Carter's final question, Tim grinned. " Couldn't I?" " Agh!" Tim threw his head back in frustration as Carter twisted his words around, then shook his head and held his hands up in defeat. " Nevermind. You're not going to learn a thing no matter what I do. Just.. be yourself. Jeez," he tried to maintain a serious expression, but eventually had to crack a smile. Placing an arm around Carter and resting his head on the man's shoulder, Tim grinned. " Seriously, though, don't ever change. I don't know what I'd do with a mature, responsible best friend." He released Carter and shuddered. " I wouldn't know what to do with myself," he explained truthfully. He chuckled at the thought of the other man actually staying home and studying, gently prying his fingers from his sleeve. " Hey, would hanging around with me all the time really be that bad?" he asked, acting hurt. He knew he couldn't have his friend all to himself - as great as it would be, he wasn't that selfish. It wouldn't be fair to Carter. But that didn't mean he couldn't pretend. Tim stuck his tongue out at Carter as Carter wrapped his arm around him. Either his friend was extremely warm, or Tim was blushing again... hopefully in the dark it wouldn't be too obvious. " Yeah, I'm basically just a walking, talking vessel that carries all your spare body parts," he replied sarcastically, rubbing his side where the other man had poked it. Tim tried to hold back his laughter at the thought of God being some sort of trailer park redneck, but was highly unsuccessful, joining Carter in his mirth. Yup, if God didn't have a sense of humour they definitely wouldn't be getting into heaven any time soon. " Yeah.. he probably has a trailer, too. In fact, he probably has every time of house imaginable. He has been around since before the beginning of time, you know." These were certainly the sorts of things one wouldn't find in the bible. When Carter proposed a deal, Tim nodded professionally, extending his hand in order to make it official. " Shake on it?" he asked, in case the other man was confused by this archaic gesture. It looked like it was going to be a good year. Tim nearly choked on his ice cream at the mention of his mother's blueberry pies. Now, there wasn't a single pie Tim loved more than blueberry. Especially his mother's, fresh out of the oven, with vanilla ice cream on the side... in spite of the delicious treat in his hand, his mouth began to water, and he looked over at Carter with distant eyes. " I miss those pies," he sighed. They were hardly what he missed most about home, but they were certainly up there on the list. As his friend mentioned the crust, though, he rolled his eyes and leaned back. " She only made them with thin crusts 'cause she thought I would get fat from eating your leftovers," he claimed, a mischievous glint in his eye. Privately, he promised himself that the minute he got home he would drag Carter over and force his mom to bake one of those pies with them again. He giggled as his friend shoved a large amount of ice cream into his mouth, shaking his head. " You got some on your nose," he told Carter, daintily licking his own ice cream. ooc I won't pretend I didn't like the massiveness (: This thread is getting seriously HUGE though.[/ul]
