Carter looked over at him in shock as he listened to him talk, "Please tell me you did not just compare me to a dog," He laughed joking of course though at the same time he'd played serious as long as he could as he tried to look depressed. "I can't believe you think i'm a dog. You have no idea how heartbroken I am right now, I just can't even think i'm so blah right now," He made it sound like he was going off on some depressing rant though you could hear the laughter wanting to roll behind his every word. "Duh, I always come in handy for one thing or another." Carter believed that and had seen it happen so many times before. He was good at helping people when they had needed it no matter the problem. He never thought about consequences though and that wasn't good. He laughed about the rubber dentist gloves shaking his head, "I'd never let those nasty things near your innards, promise." As serious as could be before he started to crack up once more. He was having way too much fun with this.
He just smirked as he thought about it more, "I'm sure there were sometimes that you wanted to string me up though, don't lie," He teased grinning as he looked over at his friend. What would be considered exciting for Carter could have gotten annoying for Tim since it'd been the same stupid thing all the time it seemed, Carter drunk out of his mind and Tim coming to the rescue. There were times, like this where the two were having a good time without the aid of alcohol, that Carter had felt that he'd redeemed himself, but for the most part he knew that he had failed at keeping Tim's life simple and exciting. He was surprised he hadn't put him into enough stress to land him in a straight jacket by now, but it seemed whatever had happened Tim could handle it and that was a huge reason Carter loved him. He could handle his crazy ass and not lose his head. "I thought they just flew around throwing around fairy dust and magic stuff," He shrugged laughing some as his thoughts too went straight to tinkerbell. She was such a bitch in his opinion. "I think you'd look hot in one of those cut up mini skirt dress things though," He had no idea what they had been called though but could imagine his friend wearing one, that thought alone causing him to smile wider.
Carter wondered what had been going through the others mind each time their eyes connected like this. He had always wondered if Tim could hear him crying out from the inside to be with him, but obviously the other hadn't since the two were still as awkward as could be. He groaned thinking about it and then perked up so his friend wouldn't get suspicious, "You could sell that shit to any New York magazine and I think you'd make a pretty penny, you know that?" He asked almost grinning at the thought of one of his bad memories getting out for the world to see. It wouldn't be the best for him because he'd probably be a tad pissed by everything, but at the same time he'd be extremely satisfied knowing that his father would be ruined by his sons mistakes. You could not have a family court judge who can't even take care of his own family, that'd just be ridiculous. "Yeah, i'd say we're pretty much even," Though when it came down to it he was sure that Tim had a lot more shit on him.
"Muscular thighs?" He asked chuckling as he clapped his hand against his own thighs, "These pups right here are anything but muscular, you should know that though." He had sported his legs many times in the room while just in boxers and one thing that was certain had been his thighs were rather scrawny compared to how big they could have been. He'd never been too fond of those men with super muscular legs though so as Tim looked at his own legs Carters eyes followed as he just grinned, the features that Timothy might dismiss were ones that Carter had usually found so enticing. He needed to stop looking at the mans thighs though as the thoughts entering his mind were nothing pure so he broke contact and stared back out over the city as he listened to the bit about flannel. "Ha, brilliant ideas!" Even he had to laugh at that knowing the same thing that Tim had, if people were to ever sit around listening to them they'd think they were nothing more than two crazy young men. "You are such a buzz kill man, couldn't even let me dream for a moment before you shot the idea down could you? It's flaming right there on that step see," He pointed down below the balcony to a step he could see to one of the buildings. He just laughed as he'd of course been joking around with him, he would feel weird having someone spend foolish money on him. It'd be like role reversal and he wasn't too sure he could be comfortable with that, spending the money had always been his thing and he wanted to keep it that way.
"You say it like it's a bad thing," He could hear how smooth the others words had rolled off his tongue and just grinned over at him trying to hold back laughter. When he'd been asked what word he would have used though he knew all too well what this had all been. He had been fishing for compliments and expected Carter to bend over backwards to give them to him, but should he do that? Hell yes he should considering he'd been making him miserable for the past few days so maybe something like this would make up for all of that. He stayed silent for a second as he looked to be in deep thought, "Well first of all you're understanding, damn cute, a bit on the funny side, not too shabby of a dresser, and of course you're pretty laid back," Those were just random compliments that he could think of because the words he'd wanted to use could not be thrown into the open just yet, "But then sometimes you're outrageous and timid," He made it sound like there had been a down side to his friends behaviours though but it didn't bother him all that much. If anything it made him human and Carter understood. When he stepped away he hadn't expected his friend to join him as he had his head buried though he did prop it up some when he had felt the others hand around his back, the hand squeezing the shoulder. An almost uplifting attitude washed over him as he grinned looking over at the other, "Oh yeah?" He asked when he'd been reassured, though he watched the hand leave him as he stretched it into the air. "You're a tease too while i'm giving words to describe you," He smirked though knew out of the two of them he'd been the tease hands down, that having upset him once more. [/blockquote]

" he tried in a humoured attempt to make up for the insult, " you never pee on the carpet or anything!" He gave his friend a wide smile, hoping to earn his forgiveness with such a generous compliment. Tim had to agree, though, on the topic of Carter's handiness. He certainly had a way of coming up with brilliant solutions to problems. Unless, of course, he was the problem, which was where Tim's own brains entered the equation. And, speaking of brains... " thank God," he sighed in relief, glad of Carter's reassurance that he wouldn't have to deal with those disgusting gloves in the afterlife. Or whatever happened when one died. " And, you know, to return the favour I'll let you have my liver," he offered. With the amount of alcohol his friend consumed, he'd likely need one sooner or later. Tim didn't even know if liver transplants were possible, but he figured it was more the thought that counted. Tim nodded at Carter's prediction, shrugging in a 'what can you do?' fashion. " Believe it or not, I've thought up loads of different ways to stop you from - uh - 'being exciting,'" he admitted, narrowing his eyes slightly as he thought back to some of those ideas. They had ranged from locking the other man in a closet, to handcuffing him to something (too kinky, Tim had decided), to simply following him around, night and day, in order to keep him out of trouble for good. " Actually, once I actually followed through - remember when all your shoes went missing?" Tim grinned to himself. That had, quite possibly, been one of his lamest ideas. But it had worked. Probably because he'd done it in the winter, when walking around in one's socks outdoors meant certain frost bite. He'd had a particularily tiring day and, not wanting to have to spend the night running around, looking for Carter and getting hypothermia, Tim had gathered up all of his friends shoes and shoved them in an old suitcase under his bed. The other man had been a bit upset, at first. But they'd ended up spending a bit of quality time together, and the whole evening had turned out quite well. At least, in Tim's opinion. Tim smirked, picturing himself in one of those glitter-encrusted fairy dressed, throwing sparkles and dust and waving a pink wand with a star on the top. At Carter's next words, he grimaced. " Maybe I would, but no one's ever going to have the chance to find out," he told him seriously. There was, of course, a hint of a smile in his eyes; most of their conversations consisted of trivial banter such as this. He nodded in agreement with his friend's next statement, eyes shining with feigned greed. " That's how I'll make my fortune," he revealed, rubbing his hands together in mockery of the cliche 'evil mastermind.' In truth, he'd never sell any of Carter's secrets - not unless his friend asked him to, which he couldn't really see happening. If Carter wanted stuff about him to end up in the press, he could usually figure out a way to do it on his own. " Yeah, yeah I do," Tim nodded solemnly, considering the other man's thighs with a disappointed expression. Obviously, he didn't mind that Carter was in less-than peak physical condition, but for the purpose of their conversation he could pretend. " We'll both have to do a bit of working out before we introduce ourselves to the public," he decided matter-of-factly. He didn't sound too excited about the idea - as much as he enjoyed playing sports and whatnot, the thought of actually trying to build muscle mass and look all jacked was not appealing in the slightest. He stuck his tongue out at Carter for calling him a buzz-kill. " You know I'd be a terrible designer," he said, justifying his quick refusal to become one by counting off the reasons on his fingers. " One, I don't know how to sew. Two, my fashion vocabulary is limited to 'shirt,' 'pants,' and 'socks that are a bit worn, but still wearable.' Three, I wouldn't know a trend if it bit me in the ass. And four," he wet his lips slightly, taking a much-needed breath, " we've already got the sugar daddy situation sorted out." He grinned, quite pleased with his little speech. He leaned over the railing a bit, searching for the imaginary fire, then spat in the general direction of what might've been the 'step.' " There, it's out," he reassured his friend, still quite amused with himself. " Not necessarily," Tim told Carter, shrugging. However, he refused to elaborate. He wasn't about to tell Carter why he couldn't ignore him. Or, in that case, why it wouldn't be a bad thing. He smirked, waiting for the other man to start telling him what an awesome friend he was. With each addition to the list, he nodded, quite happy with the way things are going. A bit embarassed, too, but when was he not? He gave his friend an odd look as he finished, mulling over what he'd heard before asking: " outrageous and timid? How does that work?" He didn't really mind being called 'timid,' though - despite the sort of negativity associated with the word, he didn't see it as a problem. Timid meant he wasn't about to dive headfirst into some sort of crazy, dangerous adventure the way 'some people' did - on the contrary, he stood back, only stepping forward when 'some people' remembered that they weren't invincible, and needed to be rescued. Without explaining his thought process, he offered the other man a smile. In the same way that Carter didn't mind his timidness, Timothy didn't mind his recklessness. " Yeah," Tim answered knowingly, still smiling. He'd been smiling an awful lot that night. Most of the time, Tim couldn't help being happy around Carter. Unless, of course, his friend did something entirely stupid, but that pretty much went without saying. He gave the other man an offended look when he called him a tease, though, sensing that they were coming close to some sort of dangerous territory. " Am not!" he argued childishly. He'd never really thought of himself being a tease, really - he'd been so focused on it being one of Carter's more prominant traits. Was he, though? It was possible that it was just one of those things people didn't realize about themselves. He furrowed his brow, trying to think back to an incident in which he'd effectively 'teased' someone. He supposed he did it a bit, with Carter, but he'd always considered it a form of retaliation.. " Am I a tease?" he asked finally, looking over at his friend curiously. If he could be convinced that he was, that might change the dynamic of their 'relationship' significantly. [/ul]

Carter had expected an apology or something and yet instead he'd heard his friend continuing the joke right along. "Maybe I should start, I mean here I am being all good and stuff and I don't even get thrown a bone or something ever, what's up with that?" He teased though somehow found the joke about the bone to come off as kind of sexual and his eyes peaked open widening up at his own words. He stayed silent not wanting to apologize or anything hoping that his friend would not catch the comment, maybe he'd been so caught up in the joke that he'd thought of it as just a treat or something, but of course leave it to Carter to find it terribly sexual. He had tried to remain serious after this, his laughter of course hiding so the other wouldn't think anything of his remarks, but as soon as he'd offered to give his liver to him Carter could not help but burst out into a wild fit of laughter. "I'll probably need one sooner than that," He joked though it was more than likely true, "At the rate i'm going I see it shitting the bed by the time i'm about thirty five or so, forty at the latest." He would slow down, he had to because health (although it sounded humorous) had been important to him for the most part.
Carter's eyebrow lifted upwards as he looked at his friend in a curious manner. "How?" He kept his question short and simple, straight to the point as he'd always liked it. He had wondered what was going on in his friends mind right now as he tried to take a crack at certain ideas of how he could manage to make Carter's life less exciting. Subtract the booze, that had to be one of the biggest things to keep Carter down to earth more. He seemed to go completely crazy while drunk and sometimes that landed him in some pretty bad situations. "I mean how are you going to stop me?" He asked gesturing back and forth between them as he spoke making it sound like absolute disbelief that something like that could happen. He listened to the next question and thought back to that night that he had expected to go out when he'd lost every damn pair of shoes he'd owned. He remembered complaining about someone sneaking in and running off with his shoes, and oh man that did not make him a happy man. He had a complete temper tantrum at first but having Tim around to soothe him had made him get over his problem rather quickly as he figured staying around the room had been better than rushing out anyway, or at least it had been after the fun they'd had that night together. "That, that was you?" He asked stuttering that first word. He could have truly gotten mad about it all but instead it didn't bother him all that much anymore since it'd happened quite a little while ago. "If you wanted to stay home and snuggle you coulda just asked hunny," He tried to do his best housewife impression from television re-runs he'd seen from like sixties shows.
The next comment had him cracking up as he had looked at him in an almost competitive way, "You look all serious and shit but when it comes right down to it are you seriously going to deny me quite possibly the cutest damn sight?" He pouted out his lips unsure if a move like that would work on someone like Tim, though it had been doubtful. "I could live without seeing you in a fairy costume I guess, you know if you're going to be that mean about it." He smirked looking over at his friend merely teasing him the most he could. He laughed as he watched the antics of his friend, "You so don't pull evil off at all," He told him knowing that Tim never could do something as mean as that. Carter on the other hand, well he could care less about reputation and if it'd meant he could get his father out of office he of course might not have a problem. Tim would usually be there to tell him the pro's and con's about stuff like this, and in the end of course he'd agree and do whatever Tim thought was right. He was whipped plain and simple. He did and followed most all of Tim's wishes and barely spoke back to him or tried to change his views. He just couldn't help it and figured it'd all had something to do with the whole 'being in love' thing.
He watched as the disappointed look washed over Tim's face and stood taller as he crossed his arms looking at the other, "Hey, hey none of that," He mentioned about the frowning. Had Tim not found his body all that appealing? He bit his bottom lip somewhat nervously as he waited for whatever else he would critique about, if anything. At the thought of working out Carter huffed and let out a large sigh, "Yeah I don't see that happening," He laughed shaking his head. Carter, for lack of better words, had been nothing more than lazy most of the time. Everyone had known it and not too many people expected too much out of him. That is just the way he liked it though, but of course he figured Tim would expect a little more out of him than the other normal people he'd had around so it'd been alright. He smirked though as he heard his friend starting to list off reasons it'd be a bad profession, something he hadn't had to do because Carter had just been yanking his chain, but of course he'd go along with it just for the sake of conversation. "One, the designer doesn't sew the clothes. They hire some lame ass to do it, they just design and leave the bloody fingers to someone else. Two, do you really need to know what something is to design an outfit for it?" That had him laughing as he shrugged, he had no idea how to explain it but had hoped his friend could understand. "Three, designers aren't supposed to follow trends anyway, they're supposed to make their own!" He could keep going with examples and excuses all the time because this banter had been entertaining, but instead number four had him cracking up and he just couldn't figure out anything else to say, "You win, you got me." He waved his hands in defeat as he looked at the ground as though disappointed. He had almost got his laughter under control before his friend made the display of putting the imaginary fire out with his own spit causing Carter to burst out laughing even harder as he kept watch of that step. "Well lookie there, it is out. You're a genious." He teased looking over nudging his friend.
During his list of reasons his friend had been awesome and amazing he couldn't help but look over to gauge his reaction. He wanted to make sure he'd kept a smile on his face, and so far he had as he watched the other carefully. That smile turned into a confused expression as he asked his question though, "You know like outrageous, crazy sorta?" He shrugged, "It's outrageous that a guy like you would even want to be seen with a guy like me. Does that make sense?" He was sure it didn't probably, nothing had made sense when it had to do with the two of them but that's what had made it so damn special. Of course in his mind this all made sense and he'd had it mapped out quite perfectly, but when it came right down to business he was anything but prepared each morning he woke up to see that smiling face of Tim's beside him in his own bed across the room. These two just fit together so perfectly as once again Carter's mind came to this awareness. He started wondering if that'd been the reason he'd drink so much lately, because all these thoughts were starting to get the best of him, but the more he thought of it that just couldn't be the answer. Why in the world was he so damn shy and timid himself around Tim when he wasn't this way with anyone else? He just smiled since he hadn't said anything in a bit and didn't want things to get weird at all.
Carter knew that tease had not been the best word to use as he heard the defensive tone in Tim's voice. He had known that out of the two of him Carter had been the one responsible for all the teasing, and of course he'd felt bad since he'd let that word slip out as he looked straight out at the city not wanting to look at Tim just yet. Not until he could find the right thing to say that wouldn't bury him any deeper. He heard the question and shrugged as that had been all that he could manage at the time. "Are you seriously asking me that right now?" He asked in disbelief as he looked over at his friend for just a moment. "Do you even think, like for a second, that you could be a tease?" He shook his head, it just couldn't happen. He wished he could tell him that he had been, maybe that would make it alright for the many times that Carter had teased him, but in the end he just could not think of any good arguement that'd help him make his point. Tim was an outstanding person to just about everyone and had never once been labeled as a tease from anyone Carter had assumed. "You're sorta teasing right now when we're supposed to have this whole hands off thing going on," He joked sighing some, god he missed phsyically touching Tim no matter how innocent it had been. " he chortled, bursting into another fit of laughter at his own joke. He felt his eyes begin to water. The combination of discomfort at what he'd just implied, and the pure humour behind it, were too much. " Damn," Tim replied to Carter's prediction, snapping his fingers disappointedly, " we'll have to find some other way to save you, then. And your dignity, I guess." He paused, becoming serious for a moment. " If you really do get to the point of shitting the bed, I'm not going to buy you diapers. I hope you know that." He gave his friend a stern look, eyes widening slightly in order to get the point across. Of course, a small smile threatened at the corners of his mouth. " Well, you know.." Tim began, sorting through his various ideas in an attempt to find one or two that wouldn't offend Carter too much. Not that Carter was particularily easy to offend. " Rope, shackles, electric leash, that sort of thing," he listed a few, vague choices, grinning. " The possibilities are endless, really," he added, shrugging, " and with today's technology, I could definitely stop you. No doubt about it." He nodded, confirming his own argument and copying Carter's hand gestures. He bit back a smile as the gears turned in his friend's mind, hoping the other man wouldn't be too mad about his little stunt. It had happened quite a while ago - there was no way Carter would still be sore about it, was there? " What'd you think? That some guy just walked on in and grabbed every pair of shoes he could find, then walked out?" He shook his head, grinning. Frankly, he was suprised that Carter had fallen for it. He gave his friend a sarcastic look at his next words. " Shut up and make me a sandwich," he retorted jokingly, then quickly continued with, " but not really. Because I'm still full of burger." Tim pretended to think about Carter's words, then gave him his blunt reply: " Yeah, I am." He flashed a falsly apologetic smile, having no problem with denying his friend such a 'simple' pleasure. He merely rolled his eyes at the attempt to pout, waving the effort away as if it were some sort of annoying mosquito. " Good," he answered when Carter spoke again, this time having the decency to at least appear thankful of the other man's consideration. When his friend told him he couldn't pull off evil, it was Tim's turn to pout. He turned his version of puppy dog eyes on Carter, trying to play the cute card up. " Maybe I'm just one of those secretly evil people. Like cats. You know, I'm laying on the chair of the couch, looking all calm and approachable one moment, and next thing you know, I'm scratching your eyes out." Tim raised his eyebrows at his friend. " Didn't think of that, did you?" he asked snidely. Tim raised his hands defensively, taking a tiny step back. " Fine, fine, your thighs are magnificant," he relented, smirking. Hopefully Carter wasn't taking this personally - Tim quite liked him just the way he was, both physically and mentally. He couldn't come right out and say that, for fear of sounding like a pansy, but it was how he genuinely felt. He considered Carter's rebuttle about his reasons for not becoming a designer, enjoying yet another one of their strange conversations. " See, I don't even know about any of that stuff," Tim replied stubbornly, a smile splitting his face when the other man admitted defeat. " You know I'm always right," he told him, portraying an ego he didn't posess. He was glad that Carter had enjoyed the whole spitting joke - while Tim rarely looked to others for support, his friend was the one person he absolutely needed acceptance from. It was a bit weird; maybe even a bit pathetic. But there wasn't much he could do about it. Tim thought for a moment about Carter's explanation, then let out a breath of air, nodding slowly. " Ooh," he said, considering it for a moment. " Well, I must have some crazy in me, if I can stand being around you," he agreed, grinning. He wasn't quite sure whether Carter was trying to have a completely serious conversation at the moment, or if they were still joking around. He often had trouble reading his friend, despite their having been together for basically their whole lives. As Carter avoided his gaze, Tim studied the other man's face, not sure whether he should feel hurt, combative or simply somewhere in the middle. Had his friend meant anything by it? Or had it just been a sort of slip of the tongue - something Carter was definitely known for. Tim pressed his lips together nervously as Carter spoke. Okay, he was fairly sure that there was something accusing in his friend's tone. His eyes widened slightly and he moved back, feeling suddenly uncomfortable. He couldn't tell if Carter was calling him a tease or not, and he was becoming more and more confused. " ..What?" he tried, trying desperately to understand what was going on in his friend's mind. Tim's need to be everything Carter wanted tended to get in the way of logical thinking, and so he decided that he would assume the worst and try to make up for the supposed 'teasing.' " I don't know.. not intentionally?" he replied to his friend's second question, feeling quite horrible. Here he'd been, giving Carter a rough time about being such a tease, and it turned out that he was doing the exact same thing? How could he have been so inconsiderate? " I never said anything about hands off," he continued, " I mean, normal friends still do that kind of stuff - you know, arms around the shoulders and whatnot.." he paused and winced, realizing that he'd just implied an abnormality to their friendship. Hopefully, Carter wouldn't say anything about it, but just in case, Tim spoke on, " I wasn't trying to be a tease," he finished weakly, taking a deep breath. He wasn't really upset about being insulted. He was more upset at the thought that he'd somehow hurt Carter; that was the last thing he wanted to do. [/ul]

Carter had seemed to stand as still as a statue for that brief moment hoping that his friend wouldn't think too far into the 'bone' comment, but sadly as soon as he'd heard his friend speak he knew he'd been found out and he sulked down some starting to laugh himself. He figured since the other had figured out the little innuendo he might as well get a good laugh out of it, to him it had been rather sharp and perfectly placed. "Something like that," He rolled his eyes having no idea what he should have honestly said right there. All he could do was get bright red in the face, a mixture of laughing so damn hard and also from the slight embarassment his comment had cost him, and usually for someone who had no problem talking and running his mouth he'd been at a loss for words. Tim had stumped him on what to say, and it didn't stop right there as he listened to the next bit of conversation. "I'm sure a bright young man like yourself could think of something," He made his voice deeper to appear like he'd already been hitting that golden old age, the joke being well played as he'd kept serious for once. He cocked an eyebrow when he heard the shitting the bed statement and before he could say anything he felt himself bursting out laughing once more, "So you'd rather change the sheets?" He stopped laughing and became as serious as ever, though of course he'd hoped he'd never lose control of his own bodily functions like that. The thought kept him in a fit of giggles each time he'd controlled himself enough.
Carter's curiosity had been growing by the minute as he waited for Tim to tell him the ideas he'd had to keep him out of trouble, and when he started rambling off a list he couldn't help but laugh as his mouth sort of hung open for a moment unsure of what to say. "Are you going to lock me in the dungeon too?" He asked as all of those things Tim had listed had surely sounded kinky. He smirked at the though trying to even picture Tim in that role of 'dungeon master' or whatever it'd been called. He chuckled not letting Tim in on his little secret. "You wouldn't have it in you to hurt me," He defended himself when the man let him know that he could be stopped, though he did make for a rather large gulp to show that he'd been nervous. Not really though, it'd been nothing more than a joke, but then again hadn't half their conversation up to this point? He could tell that the other had forgiven him and that is all he'd hoped for, the goal for tonight had been accomplished. "Uh yeah, that is exactly what I thought! You know how important shoes are to me, it's like I have a damn fetish or something." Carter did have a lot of shoes, well not as many as others but he'd loved his sneakers and could switch pairs everyday and still get bored with them by noon. "Oh snap, taking that male role rather seriously aren't we?" He asked putting his hands on his hips like a woman who'd been offended by his words, but every few seconds he could feel a tug of a smirk at his lips. He had a hard time being serious for too long around Tim.
Carter sighed and let his hands drop back to his sides as he shrugged some, "Nothing I can do about that then right?" He would of course love to see the man sporting a cute little fairy costume if only for the humor factor, but of course he'd have to complete it with both a crown of flowers and a wand. Even if Tim would never dress up Carter could imagine and right now that image had been hilarious. He loved how Tim had been the one to pout now though as he just watched him, "So i'm a dog and you're a cat, can we be anymore opposite?" He had figured that had been a good analogy though. Dogs were dependent while cats were independent, and everyone knew that without Timothy Carter would be lost in the world so that worked out. Carter laughed at his own thoughts though and shook his head wanting to clear them. "You could never be evil, not even secretly." He had hoped he'd known him too well for that. "Plus my face is too pretty to mess up," He joked after the 'scratching the eyes' comment. He just smirked trying to imagine his friend really pissed, though he'd seen him mad on several occassions it'd never been entirely too bad.
Carter watched him pull from the pouty mood as he made the compliment to Carter's thighs, or at least it had been in a teasing sort of way. "You're damn right they are magnificent!" He bellowed as his voice rung through the entire room echoing in parts. He quickly put his hand up to his mouth clasping it shut trying not to giggle. His loud words had came out of nowhere but it had been fun, that slight echo at the end causing him to chuckle more than anything. "That is why I am around. I'm here to help," He grinned puffing out his chest proudly as though he had been the man of the hour. His puffed out chest seemed almost to deflate though when he heard the other say he was always right, "Yeah, yeah, rub it in a little more why don't you?" He asked in a teasing tone of course having no hard feelings about it. At least Tim had a strong head on his shoulders and could get them through most everything.
Carter smirked as he listened to his friends remark and nodded, "That's for damn sure," He teased about the 'crazy' part. In the end though he did not find his friend crazy at all, if anything he had been one of the most sane people that he had known and that was saying something. He appreciated having Timothy around as a friend, of course in his mind hoping that label would become something more, but for the time being he could keep things simple. One thing that Carter had never been good at before had been explaining himself though, so when Tim asked what he'd been talking about Carter took a deep breathe. He was about to tell him that no, he did not see him as a tease, but as soon as he opened his mouth the other started to talk once more seemingly upset to think that he could possibly be a tease. "They were more rhetorical questions, not meant to be answered." He said simply with a shrug as he picked up that next sentnce of his friends. When he had made slight emphasis on normal Carter just laughed, "Like we have ever been known to be just normal." He commented, never had those two associated that words with themselves, or at least Carter hadn't.
He heard that last little bit and again laughed, they were just quick rolls of laughter though as he'd go right back to being serious. His friend had told him that there wasn't anything saying he had to keep his hands off so should he push the envelope? His friend had seemed shaken up by Carters remarks so of course he wished to make him feel better, but at the same time he had no idea how he could do that. He knew what would make himself feel better though as he took a step closer to Tim facing him so he wasn't looking out at the city. "Listen to me before you get your panties in a twist," He smirked having had to throw that in there because he could see how upset Tim had been getting. "You are not a tease, you've never been a tease." He shook his head as his words would matter-of-factly. "And even if you were I wouldn't mind, wanna know why?" He asked with a smirk as he stepped so they were rather close to one another. "Because if you were it just means i'd get some of these," He whispered as he leaned in kissing the boys lips, just something soft and quick since he wasn't in the mood to get slapped or anything. This was all in good fun and plus he'd wanted to kiss the man so he saw no harm in it. "Do normal friends do stuff like this?" He asked, again bringing up that word just to poke fun at his friend. " he replied to his friend's role of old man, " expecting the younger generation to come up with everything. Honestly." He rolled his eyes, acting like an uncaring, unforgiving teenager. He almost wished he had a table to prop his feet up on. It seemed that teenagers did that a lot. He made another disgusted face when Carter asked if he'd rather clean the sheets, holding up a hand as if to push the notion away. " Oh, hell no," he said truthfully, " if you ever start shitting the bed, I'll hire you a nurse or something. I don't love you enough to clean up your bodily waste." Tim raised his eyebrows at Carter's open jaw, waiting for the man to say something. A faint smile was visible on his lips - the sole indication of the laughter threatening to burst past at any moment. He'd tried to keep it as non-sexual as possible, but the shackles had sort of ruined that idea. Apparently, even last-minute synonyms for 'handcuffs' could be dirty. When Carter asked if he was going to get locked in the dungeon, Tim gave him a full-on grin. " Well, obviously. What else am I going to do with a dungeon?" he asked, as if the idea weren't awkward and kinky at all. He raised an eyebrow as the other man insisted that he wouldn't be able to hurt him, then straightened his back a bit, finally breaking away from the joke. " Yeah, you're probably right. Besides, I need to keep you around - who else is going to pay for all my fancy hotel suites?" he asked, looking back through their room appreciatively. He made an understanding face when his friend referred to his facination for shoes as a 'fetish,' adding, " oooh. I was wondering why you had all those runner pin-ups on your wall. Now I sort of feel uncomfortable about having all your shoes under my bed for a night, though.." He pressed his lips together and furrowed his brow, trying to come to terms with this new information. Then, he gave Carter a serious expression, answering his last inquery with, " yes, honey. I'm a very serious man." " Nope!" he confirmed Carter's disappointment happily, giving him a large smile and leaning back a bit. There was definitely not a chance in hell of him ever dressing up like a fairy - his friend would have to physically force him to do it, at the very least. The physical part of which, Tim reflected, he probably wouldn't mind.. but that was a different story entirely. He nodded to the cat and dog metaphor. " Yeah. That pretty much sums up our friendship," he decided, a note of finality in his voice. He scowled at the implication that he wouldn't be able to be evil, though he knew it was basically entirely true. Sure, if someone did something that really pissed him off, he'd be able to hold a fairly strong grudge (unless, of course, that person happened to be his best friend), but he wasn't 'evil' in the full sense of the word. In fact, he was more of an anti-evil character. " Fine. In the better interests of your lovely face, I won't let my inner villian out," he sighed, hoping his friend would be able to appreciate this large favour. Tim dissolved into a fit of laughter at Carter's over-the-top voice, doubling over with the effort. Eventually, he found himself, kneeling on the floor, still trying without success to breath properly inbetween giggles. " You're so loud," he managed to tell his friend. It sounded more like a compliment than an insult, though, which it probably was. Not everyone could go around keeping their mouths shut all the time, after all, and if a person felt like bellowing once in a while for no reason whatsoever? That worked for Tim. If anything, it made him love Carter more. " Oh, alright," he replied when the other man spoke of his own helpfullness, " maybe we should be designers together. You know, a totally haute dynamic duo!" He tried (and failed) to say 'haute' in the correct accent, finishing his sentence a sort of squeaky tone to mock the stereotypical version of a male designer. " Well, at least you listen to me," he said finally with a shrug, to Carter's seeming upset at the knowledge that Tim knew everything. " Oh..." Tim drifted off. He should've known that Carter was asking the questions rhetorically, but of course, he'd had to jump to conclusions. Even at the best of times, he couldn't think straight around this man. He grinned at his friend's response to his little speech about normal friendships, glad to be moving on in the conversation. " Yeah, that's true," he agreed. This would have been a fairly appropriate time to start in on exactly why their friendship was not normal (another one of those 'by the way, I love you' moments), but Tim didn't really know how to go about that. It took him a moment to realize that he'd actually been prepared to go through with admitting his feelings - where had that come from? Here he'd been, ready to use tonight to work on the friend side of their relationship, and he was practically on the verge of spilling the beans? It was probably the moonlight. He glared up at the sky, which had darkened considerably, for a moment, until he heard Carter move. Tim looked over at his friend, suprised by the sudden closeness. He was about to ask, ' when did you get there?' out of pure suprise, but Carter spoke first. " Okay," he replied meekly, turning away from the railing to face the other man more fully. He still had that sort of 'deer in the headlights' expression on his face; he wasn't quite sure what to think or do at the moment. The whole thing about his being a tease had been strangely unsettling. Which was why Carter's words brought instant relief. He nodded, feeling slightly bashful, but his friend kept right on talking. " Why..?" he asked in response to the other man's next words, despite the fact that he obviously wasn't meant to. On rare occasions, Tim's mouth could jump ahead of his rational thoughts - especially when the love of his life was so damn close to him. He raised an eyebrow as Carter leaned forward. Well, when he'd said the whole thing about touching being allowed, he hadn't exactly meant this. But the moment their lips touched, Tim knew he was done for. He heard that rushing in his ears, felt the light-headedness, and knew that there was no way he'd ever be able to stay 'just friends' where Carter was concerned. As usual, however, the whole thing ended too quickly and he was left wishing he had the balls to just admit his feelings straight-up. " I don't think so.." he replied to the other man's question, still feeling a bit small. He couldn't really trust himself to say much more, though; kissing Carter again was always like going back to some sort of drug after being in rehab for years: hardly good for anyone, but it was just too wonderful, and instantly addictive. Tim figured he should give his friend more credit than that - despite all the emotional pain they could cause, the man's kisses were nowhere near as harmful as substance abuse. [/ul]

Carter couldn't help but grin as he looked over at his friend absolutely in love with everything about him, and the fact that he'd been in a joking mood for once since the last few days had been rather hard with avoidance it'd made tonight especially worth it. Carter hated when the two of them would avoid each other but thought that it'd been the best way to handle the situation. When he'd heard Tim say the word old and he leant over some as he held onto his lower back as though it'd been in pain, and of course he put the shaky hand out to make it look like he'd been grasping a cane. He sucked his lips over his teeth to make it look like he'd lost them already, and from there he attempted to take a step or two, but all that happened as he'd taken one step and burst out laughing while tripping and falling to his knees. "Well yeah, didn't you realize that all of our problems get dumped on you guys?" He asked standing back up and rubbing his knee some, "Being old does not sit well with me," he shook his head only imagining how bad it'd be when he'd gotten older. He had been rather serious now after he'd gotten that fit of laughter out, but hearing his friend talking about having to hire a nurse he couldn't help but burst out laughing again. "Aren't you just so damn sweet?" He teased though appreciated it, he wasn't sure how he'd handle his friend having to clean his shit up. Embarassed would be an understatement.
Carter had always had a dirty mind, but when it came right down to it seemed to get progressively worse when he'd been around Tim, but he just marked that down as because he'd been so in love and into him, and to be honest he could feel the sexual tension at it's thickest moments. He figured that had something to do with the fact that he'd been so close to him and never could get intimate. He wasn't used to that, the whole waiting thing, and with Tim he wasn't even sure if it'd ever happen for them at all. "And where have you been hiding this dungeon all this time? I could have showed you such a good time," He grinned in a teasing manner as he tried to give his friend a somewhat seductive look. Carter's eyes narrowed as his mouth dropped somewhat at Tim's next words, "I knew you were a gold digger, damn." He shook his head as though disappointed as he dropped his head to stare at the ground as though extremely upset. "It's nice to know i'm only good for my money," He sighed, this one being heavy enough that the other could see his shoulders raise and sulk as well as hear the labored breathe. He did pick his head back up though to smile at the other, a sweet one that let him know that he understood the joke. "What?" he asked and then got the joke laughing hysterically as he had no other idea what to do, "Oh you're quick!" He made in comment to coming up with such a joke on the spot, of course he hadn't had those sort of things on his walls. "You should be so lucky to have them under your bed, at least they don't smell!" Carter couldn't stop laughing but did regain control of himself eventually. Timothy, having said these words so seriously, had been absolutely gorgeous and instead of saying anything Carter figured it'd be a good idea to just nod appreciatively.
Carter didn't mind not getting to see his friend in a fairy costume, but then again he wondered if the man would be so against it had he been plastered or something. The thought had him laughing as he just smirked, of course during their drunken encounters if Carter had managed to get the others clothes off he wouldn't even think of putting anything else on, let alone a fairy costume. "You're safe, I won't try to wrestle one on you," He said simply though wrestling on the floor with a nearly naked Timothy had been something that sounded amazing at the moment. "Who knew we were so simple huh?" He asked with a chuckle about the cat/dog comment. Their relationship was a lot more complicated then a simple dependency, or at least Carter had thought so. Carter had to think about it for a second longer trying to find the true definition of their relationship, but each time he seemed to fall short. There was no defining what they had. Carter took his next statement as a grand gesture as he put his hand infront of his mouth as though completely stunned as he stood there for a damn near minute. "You'd do that for me?" Carter had hoped that'd be the case.
Carter hadn't even understood why he'd gotten so loud at first, but then as he saw his friend buckle to his knees his eyes just widened as he stood there watching him. The laughter had been contagious as he could feel his stomach starting to cramp from laughing so hard. He nodded when his friend had said he was loud, "I think that's an understatement right now!" He tried to calm himself down but it proved harder than he thought it'd be. "What's the point of being so damn quiet in a room so big?" He asked looking around impressed himself for a moment as he took the features all in. He quirked a brow as he talked about being a 'dynamic duo', those two words playing over in his mind though they had nothing to do with fashion as far as he'd been concerned. He knew that the two of them could be that perfect couple but it'd never happen, but only because he didn't think that Tim had wanted it. He caught the accent attempt and the fact that he tried had been enough for him even if he hadn't gotten it down just right. He just grinned, "All dogs listen to their masters right? Well the good ones anyway," He brought the joke from earlier into the mix as he let out a slight giggle.
Carter had always found it so cute that his friend would take almost everything literal, but he also knew that it was easier to upset him because of it. That is why he knew he should pick and choose certain subjects wisely, but it never seemed to fail that he'd find one topic or another that'd upset him. This being one of them of course as he'd obviously been thinking about it since Carter had even just mentioned a word. He especially knew that a comment about Tim being a tease probably wasn't the best thing he should be talking about, but his jokes did come off as rather serious from time to time, and obviously Tim had taken that one seriously. He sighed as he watched Tim turn to face the moonlight shining across the sky, or what you could see of it with the glow of the lights below across the city streets. "I don't mind our relationship being different you know, if anything it makes it more fun. Special even," He grinned looking over at the other for only a second while his thoughts went wild inside of his head. He stepped over towards the man and that is when he knew that his mind would stop giving him orders and his heart intervene. He may not be able to tell the man he loved him but he could show him right? Wrong, he could not show the man how madly in love he had been because that'd make him too vulnerable, and that was the last thing that he needed right about now.
Carter could not believe what he had been doing right now, sure he wanted to reassure the man that he hadn't been a tease, but he knew he could have told him that from a safe distance. He wasn't sure what Tim would think of this, but as he turned to face him better Carter took that as a good sign. A sign to move forward as he inched closer as his fingertips brushed the mans shirt though he made sure to keep it just at the fabric and not skin hoping that maybe Tim wouldn't feel it and get weird. Carter grinned as he heard Tim ask that next question, another one that he hadn't had to answer though figured he should probably, and that is when he'd just threw caution to the wind and kissed him. Carter, as his lips left Tim's, found himself nearly gasping for air as he'd let out a silent whimper that he had to pull away so quick, but he knew that what he was doing had been the best for both of them. The best for Tim at least. For Carter it had been pure torture. He hadn't a clue where he'd found the breathe to speak but he had, and luckily Tim had found his own to answer and Carter just laughed some stepping back and leaning against the railing once more licking his bottom lip as he closed his eyes to imagine him and Timothy together once more. He straightened himself up when he'd gotten control and looked over at Tim, "Okay so we should probably go to the store or something and get that, uh, yeah that thing," He had felt super nervous all of a sudden as he started to fidget with the bottom hem of his shirt. Damn, why had he just done that when he knew what tonight had been about for them? He kept asking himself that question but at the same time knew the answer. It had been because he wanted to, because his lips had been calling his name since the two made their way to this room, and to make matters worse Carter couldn't stop thinking about just leaning in and doing it again. " Tim said in amusement as his friend struggled to his feet. He didn't like the thought of becoming old very much - it seemed a right pain, really. All you got to do was sit around, complaining about your various aches and pains. It'd be even worse if you were ill. Especially if that illness caused you to forget everything; an entire life's worth of memories, gone. He shuddered at the thought, looking concerned for a moment, before pushing his negative thoughts away. Fortunately, the two of them wouldn't be that old for a long time, and there was no point in worrying about it just yet. " Well, it's better to have a professional do it, anyway," he decided logically, backing up his decision to let a nurse do the dirty work. Hopefully Carter's bad habits wouldn't catch up with him quite so rudely. That would just be awkward. Tim, at a loss for what else to make of the other man's comment about the dungeons, laughed for a minute before replying. " Well, you know there's a secret passage out of our dorm. It's a bit tricky, but it's worth the time. The dungeons really are magnificant - there're dragons and everything." He smirked, imagining a dark, slimy place full of mythical creatures laying just beneath their living quarters. Then, he gave his friend a suspicious look, appearing somewhat nervous. " I'm not sure I'd like to experience your version of a 'good time in the dungeons," he decided, frowning slightly as he tried to think of what that would involve. He didn't want to read too much into it, though, and after a few disturbing mental images he was happy to leave the topic alone. At Carter's apparent sadness about Tim's being a gold digger, he patted him slightly on the back, giving his friend a sympathetic look. " It's alright, man. At least you're good for something. You should be proud of yourself," he informed the other man. Then, he returned his smile, feeling his heart flutter slightly as their eyes met. He waited patiently for Carter's mind to work out his joke, hoping he would have to explain it. Tim absolutely hated having to explain his jokes. Of course, he often found himself doing just that, as he had a rather odd sense of humour which many people didn't understand. Fortunately, Carter seemed to have caught on, and Tim grinned as the other man spoke, quite pleased with his own wit. " Hah!" he half-laughed, half-shouted, when his friend told him he'd been lucky to have those shoes under his bed. Like Carter, Tim didn't much mind filling up the empty space of their suite with noise, and his laugh could usually do just that. His outburst was followed, of course, by a roll of ill-concealed giggles. Apparently, the energy from the food was kicking in, because he suddenly felt more hyped up. " Good," Tim answered Carter's reassurance regarding the fairy costume, trying to hide what may have been a hint of disappointment. He shrugged as he considered their friendship in comparison to cats and dogs, shaking his head slightly. " Not me," he admitted, giving the other man a knowing grin. Even if neither of them was willing to admit why, they were both on the same page when it came to understanding their strange relationship; calling themselves nothing more than a cat and a dog could be considered a joke in itself. " Yes, I would," Tim assured Carter. In reality, he'd do pretty much anything for the man, hiding his inner villian being a lesser option. But he wasn't about to get all wishy-washy and just say that. They had enough awkward, couple-y moments as it was without throwing more into the mix at every opportunity. " I don't know!" Tim cried in reply to Carter's semi-rhetorical question, quite enjoying the feeling of his words ricocheting about the room. Then, he laughed some more, absolutely full of energy. He nodded to the comment about dogs, eyes glinting mischeviously. " Ah, yes," he said slowly, as if considering the many opportunities which had just been presented to him. He allowed his eyes to drift slowly around the room, then fall quizzically back to Carter as he asked, " just how good of a dog are you?" For the life of him, though, he didn't know how he might abuse the ability to order Carter around. At least, not any way which wouldn't jeapordize their friendship. Unless he made him grab some rootbeer, or something. Tim glanecd over at his friend as the other man spoke, instantly feeling his spirits lift. Sure, 'special' could mean a lot of things, but just the fact that Carter had acknowledged an extra depth to their relationship was enough for him. " Yeah," he grinned softly, as the space between them dwindled down to mere centimetres. He felt the slight tug on the fabric of his shirt, though he had no time to really consider it at all. He was a bit dizzy, actually, from the kiss. He was both glad and upset that Carter had pulled away - at least his friend was showing some level of consideration for Tim's feelings, though it still would've been nice to keep doing that all night. Like Carter, Tim took a moment to compose himself, then nodded carefully at the other man's suggestion. " Yeah, the thing," he agreed, though he hardly cared about that right now. He bit his bottom lip slightly, wishing he had the guts to just say what he felt. Desperately, he wanted Carter to say something - anything - which might indicate whether or not he, too, wanted more, but he quickly pushed that idea to the side. Why hope for something that could never happen? [/ul]

Carter loved how him and Timothy could have a blast together no matter what they were doing. It wasn't hard to make any situation a laugh riot with them, and that showed as he pretended to be that old man and he could hear Tim going along with what he'd been doing. He just grinned as he looked up and over at Tim as he'd stood back up as straight as he could needing to crack his back, "what the hell am I going to do if I can't even stay hunched over like that for a minute without getting a damn cramp?" He leaned back, hands on his lowerback, as he stretched until he could feel that little crack and that lightheaded rush came over him as he straightened back up. He loved that rush and closed his eyes for a minute so the room wouldn't spin. "Eh I wouldn't want you near my shit anyway," He made it sound like it'd been all high and mighty as he stayed as serious he could, but there were a few times where giggles did escape. "We seriously need to change the damn conversation before I piss myself," He figured he'd bring in the other bodily function since it'd been more proned to happening with all the laughter. "But wait a minute, aren't you older than me or something? What's to say you're not going to be the one messing the bed?" He smirked trying to pull it back on Tim though knew it'd end up being him if it were to ever happen. Damnit, he hoped he'd never have to go through that though.
What a subject change it had been though as the two were now discussing dungeons, Carter having found it hilarious that their conversations could shift so easily from each topic, but at the same time it'd also been refreshing not having to worry about those awkward silences. Sure there were some pauses here and there but most of the time that'd been just to catch their breathe after laughing so hard or something, and it never seemed to be because they'd lacked conversation subjects. "Hidden passages and dungeons?" His eyes widened as though he'd believed his friends words as he could only imagine the mythical goodness that'd been just out of reach, "And you've hid this place for me for so long for what reason?" He asked as though disappointed that his friend could keep such a big secret from him. "They're friendly dragons though right?" He smiled looking over at his friend for just a moment before darting his eyes somewhere else finding it hard to look at him for too long without thoughts of love and affection swarming through his mind. Carter smirked, their versions of a dungeon had been of course very different, and when Tim explained his skepticism Carter nodded some as a slight shrug spread from shoulder to shoulder, "Yeah not so sure you'd be able to handle my idea of a good time," He winked at his friend as a playful smirk appeared across his lips. He'd never think of doing anything that wild and kinky with his friend though. When he was lucky enough to have Tim as a sexual partner, if that were to ever happen, he couldn't see himself as being anything more than gentle and affectionate. When he felt his friends hand patting his back he just laughed slouching his shoulders some, "I guess you're right," His mind still on the dungeon aspect. There were some times that he wished he could just grab his friend and release all the damn tension he'd had sexually pent up for him, but instead he knew that couldn't happen. He had to play it calm, cool, and collected no matter how hard that'd been.
Carter managed to finally get that dungeon thoughts from his mind after their small chatter and playful banter, something that seemed to come easily to them as him and Tim exchanged their comments back and forth. He had mostly let his friends words roll right through his mind but as he'd heard the question, how good of a dog are you, he just grinned looking over at him for a moment not saying a damn thing. He could make some pretty nasty jokes right about now but instead he just shrugged, "Depends on what way you're looking at it," There, he had kept it somewhat simple he'd thought, but at the same time he needed to explain himself at least a bit more. "I listen, isn't that enough?" He asked quirking a brow as he watched him waiting for an answer. It had been true though since he had listened to his friend on so many different occassions. Everyone knew that Tim had been Carter's common sense so it'd be stupid to ignore his wishes, never commands. "You're sorta a pushover though huh?" He asked with a grin teasing him some as he nudged him with his elbow laughing, Tim did let Carter slide when it came to some things and he'd figured it'd just been because he'd felt bad for him or something, never had he thought that it could be due to feelings for the other, but that's probably because Carter was absolutely dense when it came to his best friends feelings. He did love the newfound energy though that Tim had been displaying, that had him about grinning as he stopped talking just to take in the sight of his gorgeous friend.
He hated how when they were having such a good time he'd end up messing it up, and he knew that had been the case when he had kissed him out of nowhere. He couldn't help it though and each second that passed afterwards he could practically hear the mans lips screaming for him to kiss them once more though he chalked that up to his own weird obsession he'd had with his love for Timothy. He hated pulling away and that had taken a lot for him to do that, you have no idea how hard it is for me to do this he thought to himself having to hold himself back as he heard the others voice agreeing that the two should leave for the store. "Yeah, and maybe while we're out we can buy those pajamas we were talking about earlier," He tried to bring in a happy conversation that they had been having earlier but his thoughts were still placed on that mans lips. He ached for him even if he knew that saying had sounded rather lame. He honestly could say that he'd felt what true love was all about since knowing his friend. He had fallen head over heels for this man, but that wasn't hard considering Timothy had been perfect in every single way, or at least that is what Carter had thought. "But yeah we should grab our jackets or something and head. I figured since the stores like a few blocks away we could just walk or something, the fresh air could do us good after a massive meal like that," Plus walking would give them more time outside and Carter wouldn't feel so apt to just push his friend against the wall so their lips could lock once more.
He stumbled some steps as he made his way in from the balcony and looked around at the massive suite. Maybe he should have bought something smaller for the moment. Maybe then the two of them could have been closer and it'd feel more intimate, but that was not the message he was trying to convey that night so maybe this was better afterall. He sighed as he saw a sweatshirt laying on the couch, he'd worn it earlier and taken it off when he'd been setting things up, and he went and threw that over his head pulling it down and throwing his arms in the sleeves. "Either that or we could just get a cab or something?" He asked not sure if his other half had been up for walking or not. He turned so his face could not be seen by the other and bit his bottom lip needing to keep his thoughts in check as he started towards the door feeling that awkwardness creeping back into the room. That could not happen, tonight had been all about getting rid of that awkwardness so he needed to fix this, but he was unsure how he was supposed to do that. His hand reached the doorknob as he held onto it for a moment before knocking his forehead gently against the door hoping that'd knock some damn sense into me but that just pained him as well as throbbed with all those damn thoughts still washing all around. "We should probably pretend that out there didn't happen," he said not looking at his friend at all as he opened the door while talking about the kiss, the last thing he wanted to do was forget but thought it'd make things go back to being smooth between them tonight. "I promise i'll be on my best behavior the rest of the night," Each second he stayed near Tim though he found that getting harder and harder to accomplish. [/blockquote]

" he told him sarcastically, grinning. Really, though, he didn't want Carter to end up in a wheel chair. At least, not until he was seventy, or something. The thought of the two of them as ornery old men, Tim pushing Carter around in a wheel chair somewhere, both three-quarters deaf and arguing with each other at the top of their lungs about completely different things popped into his head just then, illiciting a small smile. " And, hey, if you were in a wheelchair, I wouldn't have to worry about you running off all the time!" he added excitedly, " I could just put the breaks on, and you'd be stuck. You'd be completely at my mercy!" He laughed maniacly, wiggling his eyebrows for added effect. " Ooh, well if your shit's too good for me," he scoffed, pretending to be offended. How had they even gotten themselves onto this topic, anyway? He gave his friend a puzzled look, quite sure that the other man was thinking the exact same thing. His suspicions were confirmed by Carter's next words, though he stuck his tongue out at the suggestion that he would be the one to start shitting the bed first. " Oh, yeah, I'll start shitting the bed a few months before you, definitely," he agreed appeasingly, though he didn't believe it for a single minute. Like Carter, Tim paused for a moment to catch his breath before they dove into the whole dungeon topic. The whole time, he had a sort of bemused expression on his face, as if he couldn't quite believe they were talking about this in the first place. " Yeah," he assured his friend convincingly, " maybe I'll show it to you sometime. If I think you're worthy." As if their could ever be any doubt about Carter's worth. He smirked as the other man acted upset, then quickly tried to appear at least a little apologetic, defending himself with, " sorry, mate. I didn't want you to.. you know, go down there one day and run into - er, an evil dwarf, or something." He coughed, conspicuously covering up the obvious lie, then let that old grin slide back into place. He glared when his friend accused him of being able to handle that particular sort of 'good time,' though Carter was probably right. Tim wasn't the kinky, shackles-in-the-dungeon sort. " Whatever," he replied eventually, trying to shrug it off in a way which would preserve his illusion of dignity, " I don't need you stupid good times, anyway." His face briefly turned to a scowl, though he couldn't hold it in place for long, and soon had to laugh again. He was careful to steer his thoughts away from anything of a sexual nature - he didn't want to make himself uncomfortable. Tim raised an eyebrow, not really sure what way he was thinking about it in. Fortunately, Carter saved him from having to think up a clever response, and he replied with a hint of relief: " Well," he bit his lower lip slightly, trying to decide whether listening was enough. He scrutinized his friend - as if that would help. At length, he continued. " It'd probably be easier for me if you understood the meaning of 'sit' and 'heel,' but I guess it makes life more exciting if you listen after you disobey.." he furrowed his brow, considering his sentence. " Wait, did that make sense?" he asked. He'd pretty much been stringing words together randomly, but if Carter understood, all would be well. And if he didn't? They'd be able to laugh about it, or something great like that. Win-win. " Shut up," he cried, acting hurt at being called a pushover. Then, donning a confident attitude, he added, " besides, you like my pushover-ness." He gave Carter an elbow-nudge back, as well as a crooked grin. " Yeah," Tim agreed once more, still not quite able to put together complicated sentences. All he wanted to do, really, was kiss Carter again - to bury himself in the presence of his friend, to admit the exact effect the other had on him, and to see where that would take them. He didn't even have the strength left to feel angry - he was damn near weak in the knees, and only from a simple kiss. Obscurely, he didn't mind. He was too busy focusing on his friend's face. It seemed to be the only thing that wasn't spinning at that time. Fortunately, Carter was speaking, so Tim's staring wasn't too blatantly obvious. Slowly, he nodded, slowly snapping back to reality in time to hear the slightly dejected tone in the other man's voice. Tell him, his mind urged, desperate to fix whatever had been broken between them by all their stupid feelings and even stupider actions. But, despite the rationality of what he wanted to do, Tim just couldn't. Not yet. Not when Carter had gone to all this trouble to focus on their friendship.. Tim smiled softly as his friend tripped over the stairs. That was his Carter - always stumbling over himself, always finding his footing eventually. Snap out of it, his mind ordered rudely, apparently not interested in being privy to all Tim's lovey-doveyness if he wasn't going to listen to its suggestions. Shaking his head at himself, he followed his friend, determined to be less of a softie as the night progressed. As Carter pulled on his sweatshirt, Tim grabbed his windbreaker off the chair where he'd left it, putting it on slowly and trying to read the other man. Unfortunately, Carter's face was turned away, and his body language didn't offer much information. Still, Tim could sense a sort of tension in the room - a tension he didn't want. He was fairly sure that his friend was probably guilty about the kiss, though he needn't have been; kissing wasn't the problem between them. A single, small kiss made no difference. It was when things got... deeper, more physical - when Tim started to let his guard down, only to have the other man end everything with no apparent reason. That was the problem. The only thing was, he didn't know how to convey that message without letting too much information go. " Whatever you want," he replied to Carter's words, forcing himself to sound enthusiastic. He'd rather walk, as he always felt wierd about being driven all over the place by a stranger, but if Carter wanted a cab, Tim would be able to deal. He stepped forward slightly as his friend made his way to the door, able to clearly see the other's forehead knock against the wood. At that, Tim strode forward, coming to stand just behind the man when he began speaking. " Yeah, just like all the other things that didn't happen," Tim half-laughed, referring with rare liberty to all that had occured between them in the past. " We can't just go around saying nothing happened all the time, you know," he added, looking steadily at his friend, " it's not like it really changes anything." He smiled slightly, hoping he sounded reassuring enough. It was strange, to be the one bringing up the strange conditions of their relationship, but also somehow freeing. He'd barely admitted anything - only that he was aware of their romantic encounters - and he already felt loads better. Just imagine how it would feel if he could say everything he'd like to! In that split second, Tim made a promise to himself that he would. Someday, hopefully soon, he would march straight up to Carter and lay everything out, just like he'd always wanted to. Put everything on the line. If his feelings weren't returned, well, they'd be able to work through it. They'd gotten through so much other stuff; why not this? So, definitely, for sure, just as soon as he'd figured everything out and found the right time, Tim would spill the beans. This brief moment of clarity calmed the man, and he let out breath, feeling as if a huge weight had lifted off his shoulders. Now, he'd be able to enjoy the evening without constantly wondering 'what if?' " And your best behaviour is boring," he included for added measure, grinning widely. This was a bit funny: usually, Tim was the one with his knickers in a knot and Carter was the one untying them (strange metaphor), at least where their friendship was concerned. Tim dealt with Carter's actions, and Carter dealt with Tim getting pissed at him. It worked. [/ul]

When he heard the word wheelchair he almost cringed thinking about what it'd be like had he had to spend the rest of his life in one. He would never be able to run around and just have a good time. He'd have to rely on others to bring him where he needed to be, and by others he knew Tim would be the only considering his own family didn't care all that much, but the thought of them not being around anymore when he'd been that old had him smiling. He knew to think like that had been morbid but he just couldn't help himself. His parents had made his childhood a living hell so how could he not think about the joys of not having to deal with them anymore? He would never tell Timothy those thoughts though knowing the man would object. "Screw a wheelchair i'd get a hoverround!" He had seen those commercials so many times about the older folks with limited mobility and of course had wanted one. He was lazy though, Tim had been the one more motivated when it came to fitness, so of course he'd want something that took hardly any effort to move. "I'd gain like three hundred pounds and grow a mustache that'd hang down to my big belly," He smacked his toned stomach laughing as he took in a deep breathe to push his stomach out as much as he could as he lifted his shirt and looked down at it. The thought of growing old and letting himself go like that had been unsettling, so he quickly released the air he'd been holding as he let his shirt fall back down grinning over at Tim, "Yeah well i'd be sorta frightened if I pissed you off one day, who knows if you'd just wheel me to a set of stairs and release the brake or something. How messed up would that be?" He knew his friend, or at least had hoped, hadn't had that sort of mean streak in him, but if he had it'd only be because Carter pushed him over the edge. Carter hadn't really understood where this conversation had came from either, but then again even sober he had a hard time tracing many of their conversations to a starting point, but still as he heard Tim he burst out laughing, unable to think of anything else so instead of keeping it going he figured he'd at least let that conversation die.
"You don't think i'm worthy? That's blasphemy!" He kept his voice to a low roar as he threw a hand up in the air for effect. He honestly had hoped he'd used that word in the right context, but if not he still laughed because the word at least sounded cool. "I am so worthy, you'd just be jealous that the dragons would like me better," He teased his friend sticking his tongue out as though he was some ten year old with an attitude. He heard the apology, of course knowing that it had all been in good fun, and nodded as his eyebrows raised at mention of an evil dwarf, "First dragons and now evil dwarf?" To be honest Carter would love a place like that, and even in the dungeon setting he'd be too much of a nerd to even think about the sexual aspect of it all. He had a feeling Tim would get himself out of that conversation the same way he'd done any other time, and sure enough when he'd heard the whatever he just grinned putting his hands on Tim's shoulders as he heard the other talking, "Don't be getting jealous Timmy, you know i'd make it work," He laughed at having just called him Timmy, usually he'd stuck with Tim or Timothy, and grinned while clapping his hands against the mans shoulders before pulling away. "You'd just be fooling yourself if you said you didn't want them though," He kept teasing Tim as he'd felt he'd had the upperhand on this conversation, and that had made him feel good about it all.
He had to admit that having this conversation about him being a good dog had him cracking up though he did try to stay as serious as he could, and at least that kept out the laughter somewhat. Sure he'd let a few chuckles roll, but he could keep them under control mostly. He loved the expression that Tim had when he tried to find a good answer for Carters question, had listening been enough? He loved the answer as that calm head that he'd been keeping fell and he burst out laughing, "Yeah I have never been too good at just sitting still have I?" He just couldn't, sometimes he could have sworn that he needed the meds or something that'd calm his hyper ass down, but then again his running around crazily made for good times with those around him. "At least I listen, whether before or after it shouldn't matter," He cracked an apologetic grin as he knew that Tim had a point. Carter would get into trouble somewhere and then call for his friend to save the day, and for the rest of the night he'd listen to everything that the other had to say. He would never listen beforehand though when he'd heard him say how bad of an idea this had been, and sure enough each and every single time Tim would be exactly right. Carter could not understand it, how did Timothy know he was going to always get in trouble at one point or another in an evening? "I made sense out of it," He laughed and shrugged, he could have been thinking in a completely different context though and then both him and Timothy could get quite a good laugh. Carter honestly hadn't a clue right about now, and that had him start to laugh once more as he shook his head at his own stupidity. "I love it," He said shrugging when speaking about Tim being a pushover, "Makes it easier for me to get away with things," He was just joking and hoped his friend wouldn't take offense. If anything Tim had not been easy to push around, he'd get pissed just like the rest of them, and of course that showed because Carter had put this entire night together just to change his friends mood back to normal.
Since the two had came to the hotel things had been going amazingly. They had laughed straight through their dinner and kept the hysterics going while just looking around and taking in the beauty of the room, or in Carter's case the beauty of his best friend, but of course he had to do that when Tim wouldn't see him blatantly checking him out, but in his defense if caught he'd ask the simple how the hell could i keep my eyes off such a beautiful speciman? He smirked at that thought, using speciman had brought out that faint sense of a nerd lurking just under the surface that sometimes could shine through. Of course he'd have to find a joke to crack at the same time or Tim might get awkward, so thankfully he'd been good at hiding his exploring eyes whenever him and Tim had been facing one another. It surely wasn't hard now as Carter was putting his sweatshirt on and thinking about what had just happened. He had wished he could fix it but as he stood there watching Tim get his own jacket on he asked himself is it even broken? He sighed, he knew that their relationship hadn't been broken, right now there was just a crack in the foundation they had to fix and it'd be fine. He knew things started to get weird when the two kissed for the very first time those years back, and sure enough Carter being the whore of the two would push them to new heights, and just as they were about to dive off the cliff with one another Carter would pull back leaving Tim to fall. He sighed as he ran a hand through his hair walking over towards Tim putting on a brave face, or in this case a warm smile just until he'd passed him and his face had been concealed once more. "Shit, I was about to walk out of here without shoes!" He laughed as he turned around, right now his mind was in such jumbles that he could barely think straight, so as he passed Tim he just gave him one more smile before slipping his feet into the shoes that had been near the bed and scuffing them across the floor until his heels had fallen to where they belonged. "There, now i'm ready." You could tell that he'd felt nervous, or maybe it had been another feeling that he couldn't even explain, but either way it was something that he needed to get rid of before they got back to the suite.
When he had heard his friend say they could do whatever he'd wanted Carter knew what his answer would be, walking. It would give him time to clear his head and plus if they talked at least a cab driver couldn't hear their every word. It might get weird in that cab had they had one of their normal conversations and someone tried listening in trying to make sense of the situation. Carter had been in his own world right now and hadn't even known that Tim had seen that slight knock against the door, though of course he could have heard it he figured now, and he sighed though when Tim's voice had been so close to his he just turned hesitantly to bring his eyes to match sight with Tim's as he listened. A small smile formed at the corner of his lips as he had hoped that Tim would say something like that. He did not want to forget anything and it was nice to know that Tim hadn't either, or maybe that was his way of saying that he'd just never forget that Carter was stupid and couldn't keep his damn lips to himself. He could see the smile on Tim's face and knew that in the end the man was right, and that just had him bringing his own smile to form not knowing what to do now that Tim had been rather close to him. His eyes glanced down over the others lips as they hovered there for a moment but he snapped them away when they'd started to move speaking of his behavior. The grin, that gorgeous one that Tim would display when truly happy, set Carter off as he too had been beaming from ear to ear now. "Oh yeah?" He asked having the urge to lean in and kiss him again, since of course the good behavior had been boring all the time so why not take that step again like he had on the balcony? He put his hand on the others shoulder wrapping it around his neck as he pulled him even closer resting his forehead against the others so their eyes would be matched, "You'd have no idea what to do with me if I wasn't trying to be on my best behavior." He whispered, that grin kept on his lips as he leaned over and kissed the man on the cheek before wiping the imaginary saliva that had been there as he pulled away. Lately that is all he could do with all the impure thoughts that had been racing through his mind, and even right then had he not been trying to stay innocent he'd pulled him right in for another kiss, but instead figured the cheek would be the best way out of that one.
"Come on before I change my mind," Not that he would care if Tim had wanted to just stay around here, it wouldn't matter as Carter had just used this excuse to get them out of the room that'd been filled with that awkward air. He had hoped that'd clear before the two of them got back. He opened the door and grabbed hold of Tim's hand slipping his fingers inbetween the others pulling him out into the hall right behind him. He had never had a problem holding onto his friends hands, if anything he'd felt it kind of comforting even if it'd been right in the middle of public and anyone and everyone could see. He knew that there were some people out there who didn't appreciate those kind of displays, but as far as he'd been concerned if they didn't like it they just shouldn't look. He laughed as he pressed the button for the elevator and pulled Tim even closer so their arms were not touching as he stood beside him. He could feel himself already lightening up since they'd been in public and those impure thoughts from before were slowly starting to strut to the back of his mind. "How do you manage to get stuck with a lame ass like me all the damn time?"
[ ooc , hahaha knickers in a knot! I love that one, i don't think we've heard that around here, it definitely had me laughing (we'd say panties in a bunch or undies in a twist...any form of those words haha) i love that one though hahaha. and holy hell looking at this reply again i think i rambled for like...ever >.> sorry about that one heh ] [/blockquote]

" he said thoughtfully, tapping a finger to his chin as if it might help him think. Then, he smiled. " Once, I was at the mall, and this old woman went roaring through the crowds on one of those things. Everyone was pretty upset, but she was having a blast - she yelled a few obscene things, too, and almost hit a mall cop. They tried to chase her down, but they couldn't keep up; I'm pretty sure she got away with it." He grinned at the memory, then glanced at his friend. " The two of you would probably get on well." He could see his friend doing that, sixty-ish years from now. Hell, even Tim would do it, and he was hardly the sort of trouble-maker Carter was. He shuddered at the idea of Carter as a fat, unwashed man with facial hair, grimacing at his friend. " Oh, gross. No way I'm letting that happen, even if I have to do lipo and shave you myself," he snorted. Honestly, though, he couldn't see the man ever becoming quite so digusting. For Carter, the worst-case scenario was probably just beer belly, or something. Hopefully. Tim didn't want to have to perform liposuction. His eyebrows shot up when his friend suggest that Tim might ever get pissed enough to wheel him down the stairs, and he let out a shocked laugh, shaking his head once more. " Even you wouldn't be able to piss me off that much," he told him truthfully. Tim was quite sure he'd never be able to harm Carter in any way - at least, he wouldn't want to. Tim raised an eyebrow at the other man's use of blasphemy, but said nothing. He wasn't Carter's teacher, after all. " Noo.." he protested, allowing his voice to drift off in a somewhat guilty nature. " ..Well, maybe that could be part of the reason, but really, the - uh, the dwarf? Yeah, frightful beast, that. He wouldn't like you. Definitely." Tim nodded in a convincing fashion, pretending to have his friend's best interests at heart. He grinned at the use of 'Timmy.' He secretly loved that nickname, and not only because it reminded him of the wheelchair kid on South Park (ironically, his favourite). To him, 'Tim' was alright, but it was just so plain. Everyone used Tim. Only his mom - and apparently, sometimes Carter - used 'Timmy.' Which made it all the more special. However, overall, 'Timothy' was actually his favourite. It was just a bit long. " Quiet, you," he answered Carter's teasing, frowning jokingly before grumbling, " think you're so great.." He stuck his tongue out, though, wanting to make absolute sure his friend knew he was only playing around. " No, sitting isn't your thing at all," Timothy agreed, shaking his head in apparent exhasperation. He gave the other man a disbelieving look upon the claim that it didn't matter whether one listened 'before' or after.' " Oh, so, if a criminal goes out and murders someone, then the judge is like 'alright, well, apologize and promise to never do that again, and the murderer follows orders, that's 'the same?'" he asked wisely, wearing a reprimanding expression. Thank God Carter wasn't some sort of serial killer, or the two of them would have a real problem on their hands. This thought caused Tim's serious expression to fade. At least the man listened sometimes - that was all Tim could ask of him, really. At his next words, Tim sighed, rolling his eyes up toward the sky. " Yeah, you're lucky to have me," he decided, putting a positive spin on a normally insulting trait. Tim felt a bit bad for being so unpredictable. The whole reason they were here was his anger at Carter, for kissing him like he had and then refusing to move their relationship to the next level. Yet, here he was, perfectly fine with the more recent kiss. He, of course, understood the difference perfectly, but did Carter? Maybe the other man was only being silent because he was lost in thought. Maybe there hadn't been some sort of sadness hidden behind his warm expression as he'd walked by. Maybe Timothy had imagined it. Still, he couldn't convince himself of this. His friend's words startled him out of his reverie, and he quickly snapped out of it, laughing lightly along with the other man. " Smart," he commented dryly as Carter found the missing shoes. Tim slid on his own sneakers, forcing his feet into them without untying the laces (his mother called it a bad habit, but he called it time-saving). He smirked, watching Carter do basically the same thing, and was once more amazed at how similar they were despite their different upbringings. " Excellent!" Tim replied brightly, springing forward. For some reason, the suite was suddenly suffocation, and he was equally eager to get out of it for a while. Tim's smile widened as Carter's face relaxed. Whatever had been making him tense seemed to have been fixed, and Timothy was simply glad to have found some semblance of a 'cure.' He saw the other man's eyes flicker to his lips for just a moment, but managed to keep himself from jumping at the opportunity for another kiss. Tim had always been better at controlling himself in these situations than Carter, if only due to his shyness and uncertainty where romance with his friend was concerned. He gave the man a slightly suspicious look as he talked about his behaviour (a difficult feat, with their faces mere inches apart), narrowing his eyes some. " You're probably right," he agreed with a sigh, relaxing his expression and smiling in a 'what-can-you-do' way. The thought of not knowing how to deal with Carter was a bit frightening, but he'd been doing a good enough job of it so far, so he figured there was no point in worrying about it. He gladly accepted the kiss on the cheek, scowling as his friend pretended to wipe at it. " You're like my mother," he teased. She always did that - kissed him on the cheek, then went to get rid of the lipstick print. Usually, though, she only ended up smudging it so that he had a sort of strange, red blotch on his face. " You're too excited about this damn suprise to change your mind," Timothy informed Carter knowingly, allowing himself to be lead out of the room and into the hall. Trying to suppress his eagerness to discover what his friend had in mind, he half-followed the man to the elevator, stepping carefully inside and watching as Carter pressed the button. Then, he leaned back against the wall of the contraption, enjoying their innocent closeness. He grinned at his friend's question, shrugging. " I have no idea. I should probably make more friends, or something," he replied, though he knew full-well that no one would ever be able to replace Carter - as his best friend or anything else. " Maybe it's your charming personality," he added at length, voice still slightly sarcastic. ooc; Hah, it's okay xD I've no idea where I picked up knickers in a knot, but that's really the only one I've ever heard... probably stole it from the tv or something, hehe. Carter grinned looking over at his friend, "Is the world ever going to be truly ready for someone like me no matter what i'm doing, or sitting in for that matter?" He asked knowing all too well that he had been one in a million, but that was anything but bad in his eyes. He loved being different, sure he could be a little over the top a lot of the time, but that was all just part of the charm about him. He hadn't thought about changing and everyone would just have to accept that, and luckily Tim had learnt that many years ago and accepted him for who he was. He burst out laughing thinking about that woman going through the mall, and when Tim mentioned that him and her could have hit it off he stopped laughing and pondered the thought. "Was she hot?" He asked as though that would seal the deal if she'd been attractive. "She'd have to be hot, only the best for me." He puffed out his chest and gave his friend a twisted grin before it fell from his lips and he had been left with just a blank expression, "So you'd leave cleaning up my shit to the professionals and yet you're going to do the lipo yourself? You do realize that means sucking out my fat right?" He could only imagine and got a sour and sick feeling in his stomach. "Oh that is just damn sick," He giggled some. "You don't know that, I am sure that there's got to be something that i'd do that'd piss you off, at least somewhat." He still found it insane that his friend could be so damn forgiving when it came to the things that Carter could do. The thought alone had him smiling as he glanced over at Tim for just a second not holding the glance for too long.
The eyebrow raise had been a good indication that he had used the word in the wrong context, but still it had sounded funny to him and that's all he was concerned about. That and entertaining his friend though that hadn't seemed hard to do tonight since most of their times together had been spent laughing, sometimes enough that it'd hurt Carter's sides though he'd never say that to Timothy. It hadn't been a bad thing at all, if anything it'd just shown how much fun the two of them could be when alone together. "Only part of the reason?" He grinned shaking his head as though he didn't believe him, and then when talking of the dwarf he just cocked his head to the side some with a goofy grin pressed against his lips. "I'd just kick him in the face and knock his teeth in, I mean i'm sure I could lift my leg high enough to kick a dwarf in the face right? I could show him one of my awesome kung-fu moves!" He stepped back as he brought both his hands up in a kung-fu pose as he kicked the air infront of him trying to look professional like he knew what he'd been doing. Of course he had to throw in the "Hi-ya!" and then stopped barreling over in laughter as he dropped to his knees holding onto his side. "That was karate wasn't it?" he asked and shook his head, he couldn't tell the difference. "I don't think, I know," He teased just rubbing it in for him as they stood beside one another.
"That a bad thing?" He asked when he heard Tim agree with his statement. He had seemed so proud that he'd tried to make sense of the whole listening thing, but as soon as Tim started to talk about a criminal that proud grin left his face as he'd pulled out a disappointed look. "You're going there, like seriously?" He asked curiously shaking his head. "Of course if you say something like that it's going to sound bad," He thought about it for another minute, "You know when it comes to me it's different, i'm not out there gutting the town people." He shook his head laughing that Timothy would use that example. "Fine, i'll try to listen more before just to make you happy, how does that sound?" He asked trying to give him an angelic smile though innocence never looked good on him. "No, you're lucky to have me," He grinned as he looked over at the other, but in reality he had always thought that both had been lucky to have one another in their lives. He could never imagine life without Timothy and in turn hoped that he'd made a lasting impression where Timothy couldn't see his life without Carter.
The night had been progressing quickly until the accident on the balcony. The mood had just seemed perfect for it to happen. It had been just after sunset and there was still traces of light in the sky, and plus the temperature had dropped to a nice comfortable cool as the air felt crisp. He sighed thinking about the scene that had laid before them, such a romantic setting and yet the two couldn't experience that. It had all been because of Carter too and his inability to stay away from Tim for too long. As he shoved his feet into his shoes he'd known that he'd probably pull another stupid move at some point tonight, not because he had intentions of pissing Timothy off or anything, but moreso because the man had been like a damn drug that Carter just could not get enough of. Sometimes he wished that he could just blurt out his feelings but he just couldn't. He would stand infront of the mirror verbally putting himself down, most of the time saying that it'd been time to put his big boy pants on and man up to speak the truth, but each time his mouth opened with truth on the tip of his tongue he'd swallow it back into the pit of his stomach. Timothy just could not find out. It would ruin everything the two had together, or at least that is what he had thought.
"Your mother is an awesome woman," Carter would remember laughing at Tim when he'd sport those red blotches until he could get to a bathroom or something to wipe them off. "You love it," He tried to bring the teasing back into the conversation since he'd been so weird after the balcony, so instead of moping anymore he just put that smile on his face and played along with the way Tim had been acting. "You're right about that one," He said about the surprise as he pushed the button to the elevator and stepped in making sure to stick close to his friend as he pushed the button that'd bring them to the ground floor. "Make all the friends you want, but just don't forget about me alright?" he asked looking over to the other with almost pleading eyes. He knew that Timothy needed friends that were more grounded than him though so he wouldn't mind being put on the back burner so Tim could enjoy his time at Jackson High. "I am rather charming aren't I?" he asked knowing that to probably be false. "Either that or i'm just too damn cute to resist, yup that has got to be it." He grinned nudging his friend as he leaned his head against the others shoulder just in a playful way.
When the elevator doors opened Carter grinned as he could see the people in the lobby walking all around, "Let's go get that surprise shall we?" he asked stepping out before Tim and turning to put his hand up so the other could take it had he wanted to. Carter had loved holding hands, hell he loved anything that'd meant he could be in physical contact with the boy, so he'd hoped Tim would take him up on the offer instead of just leaving him hanging. He turned and started out the building after Tim had made up his mind as he looked around outside, "I think the store is this way," the two had been here for a little while and Carter still could manage to get himself lost no matter where the hell he had been. He grinned knowing that what he was planning on buying would make the entire night worth it, and it'd make Timothy happy with him moreso then he'd already been, or at least that is what he'd hoped would happen. I love you, He hadn't said it outloud but he sure had felt it as he looked over at his friend as a wide grin spread across his lips. He hated having to keep emotions like that hidden but what the hell could he do? He could not mess up what Timothy and him had, whatever that had been since he couldn't manage to find the right label. [/blockquote]

" he admitted with a sigh, pretending to be disappointed by the idea though he was quite pleased that the world had allowed Carter to.. 'happen.' Wow, he really needed to figure out how the hell his mind worked. How did he even come up with that stuff? His lips twitched into a small smile, which soon became a full-fledged smile when his friend began talking about the old lady. " Oh, definitely," he nodded, trying to look dreamy, " she had the most divine wrinkles, you know? And her flower-print blouse? A work of art. The guy who made her dentures obviously knew what he was doing, too." He leaned back a bit, squinting at his friend. " Actually, I can see you two together. It's almost like it was meant to be." He laughed, picturing Carter doting on some senile old woman. He gave the other man an incredulous look at the lipo comment, frowning slightly. " Well, that's only the worst-case scenario. And yes, genius, I do know what lipo means. Preferrably, there'd be a doctor handy, though.." he replied thoughtfully. He ignored the 'sick' comment - mostly because he knew that it was sort of sick. Like he'd asked himself earlier - what was going on in his mind? He tried to come up with something that would send him over the edge where Carter was concerned, but to be honest with himself, he'd always be willing to come back. " Nope," he told the other man defiantly, hoping he wouldn't be proven wrong. As their eyes met, he smiled slightly, clearly at ease in the conversation. Unfortunately, he forced himself to pull his gaze away before it got too awkward. They definitely didn't need that right now. " Yeah," Tim fake-lied. Then he added, " and those dragons were my friends first," trying to sound like a pouty little kid. For added effect, he crossed his arms tightly over his chest, refusing to meet Carter's eyes. Of course, as they continued talking about the dwarf, his own interest in the conversation forced him to give up on his tantrum, and he rolled his eyes. " It's obviously a giant dwarf, stupid," he said, ignoring the ridiculousness of that statement. " It drank some sort of.. growing potion, or something. It's basically a giant, dwarf look-alike. With lightning fast reflexes," he displayed these reflexes with a couple of quick "karate chops," though they looked more like random arm-flailing than anything else. Fortunately, Carter's attempt at kung-fu took the cake, and Tim dissolved into giggles. " Man, if Mister Miyagi could see us.." he laughed, imagining the wisened master's expression at their non-existant martial arts skills. There was one form of attack Tim was trained in, and he employed it, smacking Carter lightly upside the head for his egotistical remark. " You're delusional," he claimed, grinning. Tim shrugged. Sitting could be good at some times, and bad at others. It really depended on the situation. But maybe he was reading too much into it. " Yeah I went there," he confirmed cheekily, as if challenging his friend to find something wrong with that. Slowly, a smile spread across his face as Carter tried to defend himself. Tim couldn't help it; the man was just so fun to watch, especially when he was going on about something like this. He sighed as his friend made his point, trying to look a bit disappointed. " Well, that's true," he agreed. As far as he knew, Carter hadn't murdered anyone recently. Wouldn't that be a mess. Hopefully the man hadn't gotten any ideas. An expression of relief crossed his face when Carter finally seemed to see reason, and Tim gave him a hearty pat on the back, beaming. " That sounds like an excellent idea, my friend," he told him jovially. At Carter's next claim, Tim laughed. " I say we call it even," he suggested, acting as if they were taking part in some sort of momentous business transaction. " So? Just 'cause she's awesome doesn't mean I have to put up with having lipstick all over my face," he declared sulkily. Of course, Carter had hit the nail directly on the head; Tim couldn't help but love everything about his mom. Not in a wierd way, or anything - he just appreciated her.. motherliness. Even the embarassing stuff, though he'd never admit it - not even to his best friend. So, instead of replying, he merely grunted incoherently, swiftly putting an end to that part of the conversation. Tim was a bit suprised by the pleading expression Carter wore; didn't the man know that there wasn't a chance in hell of Tim forgetting him? " Don't worry. You're one of a kind," he assured his friend gruffly, not wanting to get all into that mushy sort of stuff. He already felt like a Hallmark's greeting card, for crying out loud. " Oh, for sure," he agreed with Carter's idea that he was too cute to resist. Really, the man had no idea how right he was - every second of trying to resist the effect Carter had on him was like some sort of physical torture for Tim. Fortunately for their friendship, the alternative was much, much worse. In a comradely manner, Tim rested his head slightly on Carters', feeling instantly content. Still a sucker for a cuddle, he chided himself, though this was hardly anywhere near an actual 'cuddle.' Still, where his friend was concerned, he would take what he could get. " Yes, let's," Tim said enthusiastically, taking Carter's hand without a second thought. He wasn't even paying attention to the rest of the people there; as usual, his eyes only had time to look at one person. Everyone else was pretty much a blur. He looked in the direction which Carter had indicated, pondering it for a moment before nodding slowly. " Yeah, that looks right," he told him uncertainly. Despite his earlier claim to excellent navigational abilities, Tim was pretty much helpless in this city. For some reason, he hadn't really gone off-campus much. He needed to get out more. Carter could hear the disappointment in the others voice though knew it to be a joke, most all of their conversation up to this point had been all in good fun, but a problem with these two was sometimes Carter would take the truthful statements for jokes just because he'd been so used to their refusal to be serious, or at least that could have just been him since the word serious had scared him. He tried to keep himself far enough away from 'serious' situations, and he did find that alcohol could help when he needed it to, but tonight he was avoiding the intoxicating drink so he could at least be as serious as his friend deserved, or the most he could give him at least without it feeling too awkward and uncomfortable. Carter let his eyes flutter some as though he'd been so enthralled by the description of the older woman, "She sound so dreamy," He cooed as he sighed heavily as though he'd already been in love. He found it weird to joke about being in love with someone though when the person he'd infact been in love with had been standing right infront of him. It was almost unsettling when he thought about it since Tim had no idea. "I always loved those flower prints," He teased with a cheeky grin as he listened to the denture comment and let some laughter slip as he cupped his hand over his mouth trying to calm himself down before he laughed too hard. "Meant to be?" He smirked as he looked over at Tim, of course the other man had been joking about the woman but all he could do was think about the two of them right there, you have no idea He mused inside his own head as he looked dreamily at the man for just a split second, but thinking the glance had been somewhat weird he broke contact and found a spot on the wall that he could focus until his thoughts calmed down. "I'm glad you have everything planned out, don't bother asking what I want or anything right? Jeeze," He teased as he grinned at his friend, of course Carter hadn't cared what Tim wanted to do with him when he'd been older. Just talking about it gave him butterflies as he had known he'd be there with him hopefully for the rest of his life, a nice comforting sigh falling from his lips as his entire body seemed to heat up as a flush came to his cheeks. Here he goes getting all sentimental again and there was nothing he could do to stop it from happening.
"And is that supposed to mean they're not going to meet me and immediately fall in love with me and like me better? I could so see it happening, i'm just so damn appealing to those dragon fellas," He chuckled thinking about it as he watched Tim bring in a slightly childish vibe and Carter ate it right up loving every second. "Giant dwarf, what the f-" He chuckled as he raised a single eyebrow in question as he looked at the man. How in the world was that possible? Of course the next bit out of Tim's mouth had to be an explanation as well as Carter listened not trying to crack up, but he couldn't help it when he'd noticed his friends own display of awesome karate moves. He was thankful the two of them had been alone since they probably looked incredibly goofy right now, but that had been rather normal when it came to the both of them it had seemed. Could they ever be serious? This brought Carter back to his thoughts earlier about how scary that word had been. Maybe that was the reason he'd never had a stable relationship, that'd mean he'd have to get serious with one person and he just couldn't do that, but then again he knew he could do it in a heartbeat if it'd been Timothy. He scoffed at himself in his own mind as he felt Tim's hand make contact with his forehead. He looked up at him for just a second as he had remembered what he had just said and laughed, "You might be onto something there, and Miyagi would be so impressed with our mad skills!" He told him quite truthfully, well except for the last little bit as he laughed himself silly thinking about that movie for a moment. There of course were times where he believed that he had in fact been delusional about one thing or another, but of course most had to deal with Timothy and he could not come right out and talk to him about them. That'd just be weird and it was unacceptable. He hated that word as well though, unacceptable, and yet it seemed to be one he'd kept telling himself over and over again lately.
Carter rolled his eyes at Tim shaking his head as he crossed his arms infront of his chest and tapped a foot looking at him, "You are one morbid person you know that?" He asked honestly having found no fault in where the man had brought the conversation. Tim had some damn wit and this had sent Carter for a whirl so what the hell was he supposed to do right now? He had lost in an intellectual battle with his best friend, but what the hell was new as he'd seemed to do this so many times in the past. "But if it'd be that easy to get away with murder there are a few people I could see off'ing," He'd put an evil spin on his words though knew they hadn't came off like that at all, and of course Tim probably knew that the people he'd been talking about had been his own mother and father. He silently cursed them as he did every other time they were brought up in his mind, and of course a satisfied grin spread across his lips as the two of them fell from his mind. "If it doesn't work i'm sure you could always just handcuff me to the bed or something, that'd keep me out of trouble." He smirked wiggling his eyebrows as he teased Timothy about being handcuffed to a bed, leave it to Carter to turn a conversation about murder into something about sex. "Even? Eh, I guess I could settle for even," He shrugged making it sound like it hadn't been too big of a deal but it had as he grinned looking at the other, had that meant that he'd thought Carter to be such an important player in his life as well? Carter couldn't help but be thrilled.
He nodded as he listened to Tim, "Mothers are supposed to be there to do that embarassing stuff," He said with a shrug as that grin couldn't help but stay right on his face as he'd felt on top of the world in this moment. "Well mothers that aren't raised like animals, I swear if that woman could have she would have eaten me right up to destroy any trace of my existance," He smirked at the thought that had been the result of too many late night hours on animal planet. His mother was that harsh that he could see that happening, thank god cannibalism had been illegal or he'd be screwed. Not that his mother found that to be too funny of a joke when he'd bring it up at family gatherings, and when she'd laugh timidly he'd just look at her like she was insane. Carter's eyes lightened up when he heard the others comment, "That's a good thing right?" He knew from the smiles and laughter that it had to be positive but still the reassurance was always worth hearing again. He couldn't get enough of those compliments that Tim would give him. Carter relaxed as he closed his eyes for a second when he could feel Tim's head resting against his, but of course he propped himself back up when he'd heard the ding signifying the elevator had came to a halt. Damn, he wished at this moment there had been a few more flights to go down so they had more time alone, but instead he stepped out turning to offer his hand.
He was extremely happy when he watched Tim, without skipping a beat, take hold of Carter's hand as Carter squeezed it some walking just infront of him towards the revolving doors of the hotel. He had always loved these damn things and would sometimes just run circles because it'd been fun, but not tonight as the two managed to fit together as they walked outside and Carter looked in both directions. He heard his friend, though it did not sound that certain, but if both at least thought the store had been this way who the hell would disagree? He picked the mans hand up and pressed his lips against it giving it just a little peck. "Is it sad that most of the time i'm walking around these streets i'm drunk or getting to be?" He asked, normally when he was sober he stayed around campus playing his music, or even at the local cafe playing for some tips just for the hell of it. "We should put a stripper pole in our room on campus," He knew that had been completely random but the thought of his tips at the cafe, mostly small bills, had him thinking about having a stripping party in his room. Of course there would only be two invited, him and Tim, but then again it'd end up taking place in his dreams only so why waste the money on the pole? Maybe it'd make for good decoration, perhaps. "I brought my guitar over there," Carter being a fluent player with both his guitar and bass, "So I thought maybe later we'd just sit around messing with it or something, that is after we're entirely pooped by everything else." He needed to keep them busy or he'd start to think about his friend in more of a romantic way then he should, and that is when things would usually start getting messy. [/blockquote]
