Carter looked at Tim and laughed nodding as he could see the determination in the mans facial expressions, so of course Carter went along with it and pushed his sleeves up to his shoulder flexing the muscle he'd had. "Those dwarves don't want to mess with these bad boys," He brought each arm to his lips to kiss them just for good measure, of course this being nothing more than a continuation of the joke. He knew that he hadn't had the muscle to make anyone nervous, let alone a giant dwarf though, but it was still fun to just joke around about it. Carter cocked an eyebrow as he heard Tim ask what it'd been before starting to ramble off some saying. Carter sighed, he'd heard it once or twice in his time but couldn't remember it, but from what the man had been saying it'd at least sounded right. "Sometimes the best sayings are the ones with the most cheese," He knew he had said that wrong but it'd been on purpose, a cheesy comment all in itself as he cracked a boyish grin looking over at Tim. "So does love from like a mother count, or does that saying mean something like the love of another person outside of the family?" He could have cracked a joke about it possibly being someone in the family since supposedly that hadn't been outlawed in some states, but he didn't think that Tim would appreciate it all that much.
The conversation that the two were having now though, the one about being trapped in a horror movie, had been almost as awesome as the dungeon and the dwarf, and even no while in the middle of the conversation Carter could not understand how he had gotten there. How had they gone from the topic of dungeon dwelling dwarves (say that one five times fast) and fire breathing dragons, and now the two were talking about slasher films and how long they'd survive. He had to laugh at how random they had been, but this was a usual thing for them so he took no alarm to their constant subject changes. "You just want to be the hero don't you?" He asked with a bright grin as he'd had no problem with that. He could see Tim pulling some impressive move out in the end when Carter had been in danger, and then Carter would owe him his entire life (not that he didn't feel that he had already for how much Tim has invested into him). Tim had been his real life hero even at this young of an age, and everyone knew it'd been because of everything that he had done for him. He was always there for Carter and it was lovely. "I could see you being the hero, better give you a gun though as I don't see you wrestling with the man. Better get you some lessons too so you don't shoot me by accident, that'd sorta suck," He started to ramble off random things and had to laugh that he'd been putting so much thought into the idea of a scary movie right on campus.
"Passing?" He thought about it and nodded, that had been the best thing about all of this. He again thought about if he'd failed and Tim had to leave him behind. He couldn't help but imagine what would happen had he had to take on school himself after Tim graduated. Would the other man even wait around for him or would he just disappear to start a life that didn't involve this boarding school? He sighed, that stuff was rather depressing to think about and he had to move on from the topic, but not without mentioning "C+ average right here," He smirked knowing that was nothing to be proud of, but he felt like bragging to let the man know that he'd been high enough away from failing that neither would have to worry about his grades plummeting that much. He wouldn't let it happen, he'd force himself into dedication if he had to. "You think? Where would the fun in that be?" He asked pouting his lip out as he couldn't imagine sitting in the front row of class and listening to everything the teachers had said. "We all know you're not with me for my grades though so that's alright. I wonder what it is though, must be my gorgeous looks and charm that can't be beat!" He giggled some, okay so his charm might not have been too smooth but he'd still found himself attractive, somewhat.
"Stealthy thinking? Sounds like something a cheater would say!" His voice was loud since they'd been right near the door and there were so many people crowding them yelling and screaming it seemed at one another. "This is insane!" He knew it had been a big store but could not imagine the crowds when it'd been in the evening, but of course the swarms of parents and children were probably because they'd been out of school and it was after dinner or something. He smirked, this could be their last major outting before bedtime. Thank god him and Tim hadn't been children and could stay up as late as they wanted, but even without the bedtime Carter had felt like a twelve year old as he walked through the aisles. "You're pretty conceded too, go figure," He shrugged laughing as he teased the other stopping in the aisle they needed and looking around. Nobody had been coming as he pulled Tim in close for another kiss wanting to feel his lips against his, and knowing that watching two men kiss probably wasn't something that mothers would appreciate their children seeing. He saw no problem in it though, if anything it'd been hot in his opinion. "Your lips are like my cigarettes, every so often I need a fix," He smirked pulling away knowing that line had been incredibly cheesy but it seemed fitting. He pulled away and started to look at all of the toys on the shelf looking for the one that he'd wanted specifically.
[ ooc, no worries did you have a fun camping trip? glad to see you back around, i missed timothy (and of course his writer since you're pretty amazing around here haha) ^.^ [/blockquote]

" he assured his friend sarcastically. Really, though, the other man's physique wasn't that terrible.. Tim quickly forced himself to start thinking about something besides how attractive he found his friend to be. Fortunately, he found himself laughing once more at Carter's statement, nodding enthusiastically as he did so. " I'm afraid I"ll have to agree with that. Mostly because I'm a fan of cheese," he admitted. Tim tended to throw cheesy sayings into the mix quite often while conversing - it was a sort of habit, both bad and good depending on how one looked at it. At his friend's question, his expression became more thoughtful, and he scrunched his eyebrows together. Well, that was a tough one. " I don't really know. But most mothers are obliged to love their children.. at least a little bit. If someone outside your family loves you, it'd probably mean more," he shrugged. He felt a bit strange talking about motherly love with Carter, what with his messed up home situation and everything, but figured it was probably necessary to answer the question. Tim grinned sheepishly, sighing. " Damn, you know me too well," he groaned. Not that he minded. He naturally fell into the role of 'hero,' anyway... he was just a wimp when it came to horror films. He didn't quite know why he felt compelled to help people - maybe it was because he'd been given so much in his life; a great family, good friends, various talents (not to sound conceited) - and wanted to 'give back' somehow. Maybe he just liked to feel useful and needed. He stuck his tongue out when Carter implied that he wouldn't be able to take down the killer without the aid of a gun, though he had to agree - he wasn't exactly a world-class wrestler, either. " Well, I suppose I could carry a gun just in case my natural fighting instincts don't get the job done," he said, pretending it would be more of a hassle than it was worth. Tim smirked, realizing that Carter was at least a bit happy about actually getting through the year. His friend had never really seemed to give much thought to schoolwork, but at least he hadn't dropped out or anything. If he could hang onto his grades for one more year, they'd be all set.. except for the subject of post-secondary. Tim still wasn't quite sure what he wanted to do, though his father was set on him getting into some sort of university. Unfortunately, he couldn't see Carter getting into one right off the bat. And as much as Tim loved the man, he didn't think he would go so far as to jeapoardize his own future just to go to the same school as him. Maybe there would be a college near the university. Then, at least if he could convince his friend to go there, they'd be able to stick together. But Carter probably wouldn't want that - he'd probably want to travel, or work on his musical career, or something like that. Tim felt a sudden choking fear at the realization that their futures might not end up connecting. How would he ever survive without his best friend? Don't think about that now, he told himself, glad that they at least had another year to work everything out. Smoothly, he grinned, hoping his momentary panic had gone unnoticed. " Niice," he complimented the other man's grades, offering a high-five. Yes, for now, he would just focus on making sure Carter passed. He shrugged, unable to think of a single reason why paying attention to one's teachers would be 'fun.' 'The acquisition of learning' was hardly the sort of answer which would convince the other man. Tim scoffed, rolling his eyes. " Yeah, if I'd been going for brains, I would've gotten rid of you in the first grade," he laughed. Not that Carter was that bad. But it was all in good fun, as usual. He persed his lips, pretending to consider whether he preferred Carter's looks or charm. " Ah, one of the two," he finally decided, figuring they were both equally perfect. His grin only widened when his friend continued accusing him of being a cheater, and he shrugged once more. " Hey, now, you already admitted you would've done the same thing if you'd thought of it, so you can't exactly go around calling me a cheater," he reprimanded the other man, pretending to be offended by the allegations. Cheating was something he very rarely did, and even in this pointless instance, he felt like a bit of a badass. He rolled his eyes when Carter called him conceited, then smiled goofily. He couldn't keep a straight face for long around his friend. As they turned down one of the aisles, Tim began looking at the various toys located there, trying to figure out what Carter was going to get. There were a few action figures, but even the two of them would soon get bored of those. Various gun-looking things... those were definitely a better possibility. Just as he was about to start the guessing game, Tim felt himself being pulled around. As usual, he barely had time to register what was happening before he was kissing Carter, and by the time his brain had caught up, his lips were already greedily responding. He was glad that he'd kissed the other man on their way to the store - it seemed to have given them a sort of mutual understanding about the whole thing. Also, now that Carter didn't feel the need to tiptoe around him, Tim wouldn't have to make the first move again. He couldn't help but laugh as they parted - something about being in the toy store and acting like children made him fairly hyper. His laughter only became more pronounced at his friend's cheesy line, and he shook his head. " That was terrible," he told him, waiting for the man to locate whatever toy he needed. After a moment or two, the suspense became too much, and he had to ask: " so, what're we getting?" ooc yess it was fun =P [/ul]

Carter was happy that the man had at least went along with his joke as he flexed his muscle the most he could. His arm had been toned and somewhat defined, but nothing all that great to look at. He had taken care of himself though the best he could, even being lazy he could at least get himself to the gym every now and then, but it wasn't like he'd do it each and every day. He grinned widely before just bursting right out in laughter nodding, he knew all too well about how much his friend had loved the cheese, the cheesier comments the better as far as he'd been concerned. He'd do whatever it took to get Timothy to laugh, and if it meant throwing on as much cheese as possible it's just something he had to do, and he had to admit that he did it rather well with it. He laughed and smiled as he talked about motherly love, and luckily he hadn't thought about his own mother at all as he instead thought of Timothy's. She had been the one he'd cherished like a mother, moreso then his own mother, and the way she'd accepted him into their family made him feel undescribable. He grinned thinking about that woman more, "Your mother loves me, a little too much I think," He again went on the attack joking about his mother having a crush on him. Of course it'd been a joke, his mother had loved Carter as another child and he would never jeopardize that.
"I can be your hero baby, I can kiss away the pain! I will stand by you forever! You can take my breathe away!" Carter couldn't help but sing the song that he'd heard so many times back a while ago on the radio. Enrique, what was his last name? He couldn't remember but never understood how that man could make it so big, but at the same time he must have done something right considering here Carter was singing it right now. "Sorry, you know me, I just couldn't resist," At least he'd always thought that he'd had a decent voice when he sang, though right about now he hadn't been putting too much into it as it'd been nothing more than a joke, but still he'd hoped he'd sounded alright. "Yeah, that would be wise," He jumped forward in the conversation when they had started to talk about the gun, but the thought of Timothy packing heat walking around the campus was rather scary. Carter could see some random person coming up startling him freaked out themselves and he'd shoot them thinking that it'd been the killer trying to attack, oh to see Tim in a horror movie would just be epic. "Maybe I should carry a gun too, you know just to be on the safe side and all." He chuckled, that'd defeat the purpose of Tim being the hero but it'd at least make him feel a little better. "I'd love to see you go Jackie Chan on some masked killer guy, that'd be so hot!" He made the noise as he flung his arms infront of him like he'd been doing some cool kung-fu move or something, again failing like he had earlier.
Carter stopped acting like a fool though when the two started to talk about their grades and school. This was a sensitive subject for the both of them which is probably why they had never actually sat down and talked about it. Carter knew that he would just stand in the way of Timothy's future, and of course there were some nights where he'd lay in bed just trying to figure something out so they could make a clean break without getting too upset. He did not want to be just some random object weighing Timothy down when he knew the other man could do so much in life, but each time he thought about parting he could literally see him wrapping himself around the mans leg and not letting go. He was that attached to Timothy and knew that no matter what he could not let him get too far away. He would follow him whether Tim wanted him to or not, and was sure that no matter where the two had went he'd figure something out to do with his life. He of course had the dream of college sometimes, but at the same time the thought of more school was unsettling. He watched as Tim put his hand up for a high five and giggled bringing his hand up to clap against the others giving him a high five right back, "I know right!" He laughed as he tried to clear his mind and not think about school so much, but he just couldn't do it. That would be a subject that'd stay on his mind each day, and the closer they'd get to graduation the worse his thoughts would become. He had to make the most of his time with Timothy, but then again he had to believe that after graduation the two would get closer and move on into the next chapter of their lives together. That idea had him grinning as he just looked at Timothy with promising eyes.
"HEY!" He yelped though knew that he'd been joking about it, or at least he had hoped that he was as he quirked a brow curious for a moment. "You wouldn't have done that, would you?" He asked knowing that Timothy had never been that mean of a person to just stop hanging out with someone based solely on their grades. "You're right though, in kindergarten I had one of the highest scores in the class. Not that hard when all you get marks for is tying your shoe and sitting around at circle time." he laughed, his parents couldn't even be proud that he'd been excelling in kindergarten. It'd be the last time his marks were so high, after that he started to settle into a jokester personality and his grades started to settle down to the average column. He didn't mind all that much, it's not like his parents cared so why should he right? "How about both?" He asked when he watched Tim try to figure out which he'd liked better, but even having just one that appealed to Tim was better than nothing. He grinned proudly, so at least he knew he'd been doing something right with this man though he wasn't entirely sure what exactly that'd been. "Fine!" He groaned throwing his hands up in defeat as he sulked for a second before leaning close so only Tim could hear him, not like anyone else had been listening though, and he managed to whisper a faint "Cheater just as a joke before grabbing hold of his hand and leading him through the store. He loved taking the lead though on the rare occassions like in the streets where Timothy had done it he'd been so thrilled, but still he had no problem taking the reigns when they were together. He appreciated that Timothy let him lead him too, not that he would mind being lead sometimes. It was a give and take relationship, he couldn't complain.
The kiss, well in the middle of the aisle it had been damn phenomenal and he had hoped that it'd felt just as good for him as well. The fact that he could kiss him out of the blue and have Timothy respond in the way he just had, well it was something Carter couldn't describe in the sense of feelings. He'd been so in love with that man though and each time their lips reached one anothers he found himself falling even more head over heels in love, and the funny thing is he'd never even thought that possible. He would never think that there was one person out there that could make him feel the way he did when he just looked at Tim, and yet here this perfect man had been and he was nothing more than a best friend. Oh the irony, it was nothing more than a riddle to him. He had been lost in his own world after the kiss as he looked along the shelves, but of course when Tim asked what they were getting he just grinned, "Well aren't you just in a hurry!" He grinned as his fingers rushed across the many things that had been scattered along the shelves. He couldn't find what he'd been looking for as he ducked around the corner out of sight from Tim. They had to be there somewhere right? He kept looking and then something caught his eye out of the corner of his eye, and soon enough he leant down towards the bottom of the aisle and noticed exactly what he had wanted. "YES!" He shouted triumphantly as he grabbed the box and pulled it away from the shelf as he cuddled it into his arms. "TIM, THEY HAVE IT!" He had sounded like he was a ten year old boy again. "Shit, should I even show you what it is or keep it a secret?" he asked putting it behind his back as he peaked back around the corner at the other man. [/blockquote]

" Tim groaned as Carter brought up his mom once more. She always had had a terrible soft spot for his friend, though he doubted it had anything to do with cradle-robbing tendencies. As the other man began singing, Tim joined in without a second thought, half-screaming the words with false passion. " I can kiss away the pain! I will stand by you forever! YOU! CAN! TAKE! MY! Breath awaaaay!" he cried, dissolving into laughter halfway through the final note. " It's just that kind of song," he shrugged off his friend's needless apology, thinking about how even the most ridiculous songs somehow managed to make their way into the mainstream. He supposed it had something to do with all the helpless romantics out there. Write a half-decent song about love, and you'd be on your way to greatness. He shook his head at the thought of the two of them trying to handle guns, though. " That would probably end in disaster..." he decided. Tim laughed at Carter's next words, both out of amusement and a bit of embarassment. But hell, it would be hot of him. His laughter became considerably more pronounced as his friend tumbled to the ground, and he extended a hand to help the other up. " I think I'd probably be a bit more Jackie Chan than that," he told him. Of course, Tim himself would probably have fallen over, too, but there was no way for Carter to prove it. He grinned back at his friend as the man returned his high-five, eager to push the subject of school and the future aside for the time being. He knew they'd have to talk about it someday, but that was one conversation he'd rather postpone. Especially since it would involve figuring out how their relationship actually worked. At Carter's apparent outrage (due to his little insult), Tim burst into a fit of giggles, quite pleased with his fake insult. " Who's to say I wouldn't?" he asked mysteriously, though they both knew such a thing would be horribly out of character. " Yeah. You certainly had everyone fooled back then," he snorted as the other man mentioned getting 'good grades' in Kindergarten. " Sure," Tim shrugged, admitting that he liked both options equally. Then, he grinned. Those weren't the only two things he liked about Carter, obviously, but they'd definitely caused him to realize for the upteenth time how perfect his best friend was. He had certainly been joking earlier - grades didn't mean anything to him. There was so much more about Carter to love, and besides, marks weren't even relevant in the real world. He gave the other man a mischevious smile as he finally gave in, though it became a scowl as he was called a cheater once more. " You're impossible," he sulked, though it hardly sounded like he thought that was a bad thing. Unable to keep the smile off his face for long, he followed Carter into the store, simply happy to be spending time one-on-one with the other while he was sober. It was just like the good old days, really. Sometimes he missed being a kid, which was why, at times like this, he easily let go of any notion of maturity. Adults had no place in toy stores, unless they were willing to spend loads of cash on small children. Tim waited for Carter to speak, watching him as his eyes drifted over the shelves. He was practically jumping up and down with excitement - both at their latest kiss, and at the prospect of finally finding out why they'd come to the store. " I want to know!" he pouted, acting as if he were moments away from throwing a tantrum. Funnily enough, Tim had never been a tantrum kid - he might've done so once, but his mom would've marched him straight out of that store without a single new purchase to his name. And she would've denied him dessert. That was the worst: watching his sisters enjoy their sundaes while being unable to have his own. Needless to say, ice cream had a lot to do with why Tim was such a good kid. When Carter turned a corner, Tim hurried to catch up with him, jumping as the other man's voice boomed out from the other aisle. His shock quickly gave in to excitement, and he leaped in the direction of his friend, expression bright. " Yay!" he cried, still not knowing exactly what it was. His pout returned instantly as Carter once again considered denying him the right of knowing what it was. " No, tell me!" he pleaded as the other man's head appeared around the corner. " I'll beg," he offered, adding, " the suspense is killing me. Seriously, I'll die." He tried to make his expression appear sincere. Carter wouldn't possibly allow such a terrible thing to happen, would he? [/ul]

As Timothy groaned Carter couldn't help but grin and start to chuckle. "Hell yes i'm bringing that up again," He teased though he knew he would drop the subject quicker than hell. He did not need to pick on Timothy about his mother yet again, in truth his mother was nothing more than a saint and to even joke about her wasn't fair to the woman. She'd been nothing but kind and loving to him and here he was teasing that she wanted to sex him up, the thought causing him to laugh some before he burst into song. His voice seemed to carry louder as he heard Timothy pick the words right up with him as the two belted it out, thankfully still in the room at the time or they would have had quite the wandering eyes on them. He'd always enjoyed Tim's voice, not that the other ever did anything with it, but then again the song had been romantic and Carter would get goosebumps if he'd only imagined him singing it for real instead of as some lame joke. Had he seriously been that lame that even this silly song had given him goosebumps as it'd fallen from Tim's lips? He had to move forward in the conversation or he'd start grinning like a loser, so as Timothy expressed his thoughts about them yielding guns he just laughed and nodded slightly understanding the others concerns completely. "People would be more frightened with us then the actual killer don't you think?" He grinned cheekily baring his teeth for the other before laughing. "I'd shoot off my foot and would have to hop around with a stump or something," He laughed though it'd probably been true, had Carter been given a gun he'd probably be stupid enough to shoot himself in the leg with it.
Carter laughed as he took the others hand and pulled himself up entirely dusting off his pants as he nodded, "Oh yeah I could see Chan sitting in the corner crying because you've put his moves to shame. Hell I bet you might even be able to take on Chuck Norris, how awesome would that be? He tried to close his eyes and imagine Timmy and Norris in a fight, but all that kept happening was the two would be standing face to face and then Carter would laugh. Even though he'd had a pretty good imagination even that fight was too much for him. He stopped trying to imagine the epic fight when he had heard the comment coming from Tim, "What?" His jaw dropped open as he put both hands on his hips and looked at him tapping his foot against the ground. "You honestly don't think I know what you're capable of doing?" He asked when Tim had made it sound like he'd have no problem tossing him aside and moving on. "You'd be an empty shell without me. I complete you!" He made the corny heart shaped with two fingers and his thumb as he pounded it against his chest like it'd been beating. He laughed at how corny it had been but it was sure to get a rise out of the other, and that was seriously all he had been going for at the moment. "Fooled? I'll have you know that I was damn awesome back in school!" He proclaimed though Tim had been right mostly, in school Carter had made a lot of people out to be the fools when it came to trusting him and such. Especially teachers, back when he was little he had them wrapped around his finger because he'd been so cute and knew exactly what to say or do to get away with most things around the school. "Never could fool you though huh? You were sharp like a tack," He ruffled his hand through the mans hair teasing him some as he just gave him that gorgeous grin that he couldn't stop sporting around him.
"I know," He grinned when the other called him impossible as he started to skim the aisle for that specific toy. He grinned as he could hear the excitement growing in Timothy as he peaked around the corner with the toy behind his back. "You seriously think begging is going to help? You gonna throw me some of those puppy dog eyes and i'm going to melt, is that what you're thinking?" He asked smirking as he stepped closer pulling the box further behind his back shifting it around some so a corner wasn't peaking out, or at least he'd hoped one wasn't. "We can't have that happening now can we?" His lips curled up into a smirk as he watched Tim being dramatic, a look that suited him though only when he'd been joking around. "Fine, close your eyes." He told him grinning as he tapped his foot against the floor waiting for the man to do as he'd said, and when they had finally been shut he just grinned as he waved a hand infront of the others face making sure that they had been shut tight and he couldn't see. "No peaking, you're going to spoil the surprise!" He grinned as he set the box down on the floor and picked the first lame toy that he could find up, and it happened to be some transforming robot type thing. He quirked a brow at it looking at how stupid it had been, the damn toy companies must be desperate for money if they're selling junk like this, but it would do for what he was going to do. He pushed the box he'd really been buying back some as he stood infront of it leaning in and giving Timmy another kiss on the lips, this one a softer one just to get the man to open his eyes. "Ta-da!" He grinned waiting to see the expression on the others face, hopefully Carter could keep the joke up as he'd been having a hard time keeping his face straight with such a lame thing in his palm.
"I'm joking, don't take me seriously!" He grinned as he put the toy back on the shelf and leaned down to get the real box, "Arms out," he mentioned as he picked the lasertag toy up and put it in the others hand. "How is this for messing around in a big suite like that? I'm sure it could be fun!" He grinned trying to see what sort of expression Tim had been giving when he looked at the toy. "Oh and I figured we could have some epic lightsaber fight and I could pretend to chop off one of your hands. It'd be fitting considering your moms thing for me, who knows-" he wiggled his eyebrows some as he could not help but bring this joke up just one more time, "I could be your new father," He burst out laughing trying to make his voice sound as deep as Darth's but failing miserably. "How much do you love me right now?" he asked completely joking as he grinned and hurried out of the aisle leaving the lasertag bo in Tim's hand as he looked for the lightsabers, and of course anything else that could interest them for the night though he of course was heading towards the registers. " Tim frowned worriedly, as if having Carter stick around forever were a terrible thing. He laughed at the thought of people being more frightened of them than the insane murderer. " Yeah. We'd be on one side, and the dude with the chainsaw or whatever would be on the other, and they'd go for him. Maybe we should just cut out the middle man and be the villains ourselves," he suggested. Not that he'd ever be able to kill anyone; he'd probably be the mastermind behind the whole plot. The one who stayed indoors. In safety. The one in charge of the lasers. He had a brief vision of himself as some sort of doctor evil, sitting in one of those high-backed chairs with a cat in his lap and an dispicable plot lurking behind his smooth, bald head. " I'll be the brains, and you can be the brawn," he offered his friend, grinning. He was quite sure they must've had this conversation before, though it'd probably been about superheroes then. Funny, how the two extremes were so alike. He grimaced at the idea of Carter shooting himself in the foot (though it would happen, knowing the other man). " That might be a bit of a problem.." he sighed, " and good henchmen are so hard to find these days." Tim shrugged, not quite able to picture Jackie Chan crying. " My moves would have to be really bad," he pointed out, then laughed at the idea of going up against Chuck Norris. " No one would be able to kick Chuck Norris' ass. Not even me. Besides, if it came to that, I'd just tell Jackie to get up out of his funk and take over for me," he nodded, pleased with this thought. Everyone seemed to think that Chuck Norris was the ultimate fighter, but there had to be some sort of competition somewhere. Tim smirked at Carter's suprise. They both obviously knew that he never would've done something like that, but pretending to fight about this was much better than actually fighting about something else - at least in his opinion. " Well, it doesn't look like you know, because I would've definitely cut you loose if you'd been an idiot back then," he fumed back, acting outraged at the idea of Carter believing he knew Tim better than Tim knew himself. Though, in some cases, it might've even been true. He stuck his tongue out at the man's next words. " Oh, yeah? I'm sure there are loads of people out there who would complete me.." he drifted off in the realization of how lame that argument was. " Well, I would've found someone," he sulked at length, looking away. In reality, however, he was eternally greatful to his younger self for sticking around Carter, even if his friend did cause him grief from time to time. Soon, though, he had to join the other in laughter. " We're so lame," he said, not sounding upset about it at all. Tim raised his eyebrows at Carter's claim to elementary school greatness. Instead of denying this fact, he simply asked," so what happened?" Then, he cringed away, expecting to be smacked for that one. He grinned at his friend's next words, proud to have been the one to know what was really going on while the rest of the world had been fooled. " Oh, yeah," he tapped a finger to the side of his head, " I always knew." When the other man mentioned puppy dog eyes, Tim automatically resorted to that tactic, though he'd never been especially good at them. " Worth a try, right?" he asked sweetly, trying to smile in a convincing manner. He let out a yelp of excitment inspite of himself when Carter finally seemed to give in, grinning widely and closing his eyes obediently. To tell the truth, he did suspect that his friend would try to fool him, but he figured he might as well humour him. " I'm not peeking! Hurry up!" Tim shuffled his feet impatiently, frowning slightly. He listened as Carter fiddled around, becoming a bit uneasy when silence descended. The unease turned to suprise as, for the fifth time that evening, the other man's lips met his own. Tim jumped a bit, eyes flying open to focus first on Carter and then on the ridiculous toy in his hand. Without skipping a beat, Tim raised a skeptical eyebrow. " Really?" he asked, trying to see if his friend was hiding something actually worthwhile behind him. He groaned at the other's admission of the joke, rolling his eyes. " Oh, that was a good one," he said sarcastically, though he couldn't stay exasperated for long; the minute he saw what they were really getting, his jaw dropped. " Oh my god!" He held the box up to get a better look at it, grinning in excitement. " Wow, as far as your ideas go, this was probably the best!" He could only act mad about the whole 'mom' comment for a moment before the smile slipped back onto his face, though he managed a smooth, " yeah right." Then, he took off after Carter, only briefly considering his final question. " Probably about ten times more than I used to," he decided, wondering if that were even possible. He could hardly wait to get back to the hotel now. [/ul]

Carter grinned as he imagined caged animals at the zoo after Timothy had made the mention about feeding him, "I'm sorry, I must not have been wearing my DO NOT FEED sign around my neck that day. It's not her fault, she didn't know, she was just trying to be nice." He threw out jokes left and right for answers as he of course thought about the childrens book `if you give a mouse a cookie`, and could see himself as that pesky mouse that just would not leave after that first crumb of cookie. "Villians? Hmmm," He thought about it for a minute getting a very cheeky grin as he nodded some, "That might just work. They would never expect us, we could go ape shit crazy and kill everyone and then ride off into the sunset. They'd be clueless! Especially you, they'd never suspect you capable of doing something so-" he stopped talking so he could think of the right word, and sure enough only one came to mind as he opened his mouth after grinning, "Crazy," yup that had been the perfect word to use. "You'd have to be the brains, do you honestly see me coming up with a good plan? I'd be the type to just go in their swinging a machete with no real game plan." He would also be the type to trip up the stairs and end up stabbing himself or something, how lame would that have been? "Yeah, maybe it wouldn't be too good of an idea to turn evil, I don't think the world would be ready for us as super villians." He did smirk though at the thought, no matter how scary it had been.
He quirked a brow confused as he looked at the other man, "Chan's getting old." He stated shaking his head as Timothy made the comment about them having to be really bad to get a reaction like that, "I'm sure he cries at some of the shit that he can't even do anymore," He chuckled, he was sure that no matter age Chan could still kick ass and take names had he wanted to. "Tag team with you and Jackie against Norris? I could sell tickets to that and make millions!" Okay so he might not make millions exactly, not that he even needed the money, but he could see himself selling tickets and making some big production out of it. Of course he'd never let Timothy get into a ring where he might be hurt, but knowing that it'd never happen meant that he could at least joke about it. His jaw dropped as he looked at the other man in pure astonishment trying to figure out if it'd been a joke or not that he'd drop him had he been an idiot. He seemed angered but with Tim Carter sometimes could not tell because he was so good when it came to joking around. "You wouldn't," He shook his head standing by his opinion, no matter if he'd been an idiot or not he could never see Tim just discarding him. Then again he was sure that he wouldn't have even talked to him that first day they had met had he thought he'd been an idiot, so maybe it'd been true that the two wouldn't have been friends. Carter's thoughts were making no sense as he picked his jaw back up and shook his head, "Let's be thankful i'm not completely stupid then," He smirked, he wasn't the smartest but had been smart enough to be around Tim and that'd been all that mattered. "They would have never been as cool as me though," He smirked as he remembered the genie from alladin, "You aint never had a friend like me," He mused playing it off like the big blue guy had on the movie, though soon afterwards he burst out laughing. "Lame is a good thing though right?" he asked hopeful, he did not want to think that Timothy didn't appreciate their friendship, though he knew he had and would never question it.
Again he'd been having a good time and a random comment that Tim would make brought him back to reality, and his jaw again dropped once more as Tim had caught him off guard. "HEY!" He laughed shaking his head disapprovingly. "I can get myself out of any and all situations even to this day, you know that!" He commented laughing at his others quick wit tonight. His hand reached out to smack the other but instead he just pushed him against the shoulder, "You're lucky I think you're cute!" He laughed being able to just say that without feeling awkward around the man, but that was just because he'd told him so many times before the same exact thing. "So why'd you stick around then?" he asked curiously with a grin, he knew that out of anyone Timothy would always be the one that would see right through him even right after they'd met. He was never able to pull the wool over Timothy's eyes but had found that to be a good thing as he never wanted to lie to him. Of course those white lies would escape when he knew he'd done something that could upset the other, and although he had a feeling Tim had known when he was lying it didn't seem to matter as he'd never bring it up again. Carter just figured he'd been lucky to have such a forgiving friend. He watched as the man's eyes grew wider and he just pouted, those eyes always had an effect on Carter and he could do just about anything that Timothy had asked of him. Tim might not have thought he'd been all that good at them but to Carter it appeared Tim had nailed the look. "You're too much, you know that?" He asked smirking as he shook his head, "It's not even going to work this time so you should just give up right now. I said give you!" he laughed as he chewed on his bottom lip somewhat nervously. He loved how he had thought of the perfect joke, and as he had the man close his eyes he made the swap of boxes, but just as he had said before he'd been a terrible liar and he was sure that Timothy would see right through it. It was worth a shot though right?
"I'm hurrying, i'm hurrying! Be patient will ya?" He asked looking at the lame box he'd had in his hand as he made sure the other was as hidden as he could get it for right now. He watched as he put the toy in Timothy's hand and he opened his eyes, and sure enough that same second it seemed Timothy had been questioning it. "Oh yeah, hell yeah!" he grinned as he quickly looked at the toy that had been in the others hand trying to find something exciting about it that he could play up. "OH," He saw a button and pressed it as it slowly started to roar like an engine had been starting up, "What the hell is that?" He asked confused as the robot had looked nothing like a car, "Maybe it transforms into a car? See, this is why we have to get this! So much mystery!" He couldn't even keep the joke up as he groaned laughing at himself. "I thought so too," He groaned after he'd admitted it had been a joke, and luckily he was thankful that Timothy hadn't been mad and might have found it even somewhat humorous. He knew that when he showed him the real toy that would make up for things though as he picked it up and handed it to him, "You think?" he asked when he heard Tim explain that this could be one of his best ideas. "I had a feeling you'd like it," he grinned as he could not wait to get home and strap up to play. "Only ten times though?" He frowned as he turned around to look at him one more time as he stopped walking towards the registers. "Just for that i'm not going to buy the-" He looked around for something else super cool that they might want and that is when he had found the lightsabers that he had been thinking about before. He looked at the three or four different kinds and settled for the plastic one that had 'realistic' sounds and lights. He grinned as he picked two up from the display box they'd been in, "I guess we don't need to have a lightsaber battle to get ready for when we have to go to the dungeon and have a war with the trolls, or were they dwarfs right?" He had already forgotten, gotta love the simple mind of Carter's. [/blockquote]

" he complained, looking quite disgruntled at the fact. Then, pouting, added, " and you're not even fat. You should at least be fat by now." He poked his friend's non-existant flab in order to emphasize this issue. " Is there no justice in this world?" he asked with a final, self-pitying sigh. Well, maybe he was a bit sore about how his mom always favoured Carter more, but nowhere near as upset about it as he was trying to act. You know the drill - he understood it, he was glad that the other had had at least some sort of mother-figure in his life, and he certainly didn't mind his friend being well-liked by his parents. Tim laughed at the reference to riding off into the sunset. That was how a lot of their imaginative adventures ended; just the two of them, in anything from a beat-up old jalopy to a hardcore RV to - in some cases - some sort of elaborate, expensive luxury vehicle, driving down the classic endless road into a glorious sunset. He couldn't complain. " Exactly," he nodded, especially at the thought that no one would expect him to be quite so crazy. " I'd have the whole thing figured out, and I'd just send you in with the guns and the game plan. Or, you know, your weapon of choice and the game plan. Plus, I'd be around just in case you eff something up," he grinned cheekily, implying that Carter was incapable of even doing something so horrible without messing it up. In all honesty, though, even the most seasoned killers made mistakes. At least if the movies were anything to go by. Personally, Tim would just be terrified that Carter would get himself hurt, because that usually happened to at least one of the murderers. " Come on, we could totally be super villians," he chided his friend, despite the fact that he himself wasn't convinced of it being a possibility. Tim shrugged, not choosing to persue the topic of whether or not Jackie Chan would cry, though he was steadfast in his belief that such a great fighter wouldn't be such a baby. At Carter's next words, he shook his head vigorously, holding his hands up in a gesture of defense. " Oh, no no no. I'm not going up against Norris. That would be suicide. I'll be on the sidelines, counting up my share of the cash, thank-you very much." Ironically, that was exactly the sort of scheme Carter would get Tim wrapped up in. At the other man's shock, Tim burst out laughing, unable to continue with the joke. " Alright, alright, you're right - I wouldn't have dropped you, even if you had been stupid back then." He gave his friend a clap on the back, grinning cheerfully. " I guess you're pretty cool. And, yes, lame," he decided, rolling his eyes at the 'friend in me' joke. He would have joined in on that song, as well, but he couldn't actually remember the lyrics and didn't feel like making a fool of himself just then. " It really depends how you look at it, but in this case, I suppose lame can be a good thing.." he figured, still smiling. Tim snickered to himself, quite proud of his little joke. That was another habit he had - laughing at his own jokes. That way, even if they weren't funny, at least someone was around to appreciate them, right? He moved back slightly as Carter pushed him, then returned to his original position, sighing. " Yeah, you can get yourself out of any situation - providing you have a phone and enough sense to call me for help," he pointed out, raising an eyebrow. His friend was right, though - he was fairly street smart. Half the time, Tim was sure the only reason Carter called him at all was for the company. Or knowing that someone was on his side. Whatever the reason, Tim was glad to be wanted. " You're lucky I'm cute," he countered the other's compliment, pointing over at him. He honestly had no idea what that had to do with anything, but he was in one of those rather hyper moods where even a simple word could be funny. Which was probably why he was off, giggling away at himself again. He had to catch his breath quickly though, in order to answer the other man's next question. " Oh, you know, for the wicked good times!" he grinned widely, resisting the urge to ruffle Carter's hair or something. He didn't know where the urge had come from, but he certainly had it now. He beamed as Carter called him 'too much,' struggling to intensify his puppy eyes. One could only do so much in that area of expertise, though, and soon Tim had to drop the expression. Besides, he would win out eventually. He always did when it came to this sort of thing. " Okay, okay. Just show me!" he frowned. He didn't want to wait any longer. He wanted his damn suprise. As the other man continued to pretend that the so-far useless excuse for a toy was what he'd been so excited about, Tim gave him a skeptical stare, only raising his eyebrows slightly as it began emitting strange noises. " Mhm," he began tapping his foot as Carter tried to play the 'mystery' card. No way would Tim be fooled this time. And, sure enough, his suspicions had been correct. Obviously, however, as soon as he saw the real suprise, all thoughts about his friend's lame trick were instantaneously erased from his mind. " Ten, one hundred, I love you so much already," Tim answered in an off-hand manner, trying to hide exactly how true that statement really was. As the other held up the lightsabers, Tim reached out for one, turning it over in his hands. " Okay, scratch that, I love you to the power of infinity. Now buy these," he gave the man a serious look, pushing the lightsaber back into his hands and turning him toward the cash register. " Dwarfs," he added for good measure. ooc -gasp- turns out I managed to reply sooner than I thought! Hurray! [/ul]

"I wasn't that scruffy," He pouted, of course since he'd met Tim when he was so young he hadn't even had facial hair or anything of the likes yet. His clothes were always torn up and stained though, but that's because he'd make it a point to ruin every shred of nice clothing his parents would get for him. He was that much of a brat, but after everything his parents had done to him he figured he'd owed them that much. They made his childhood miserable, the only true happiness coming from Tim and his family, so it always felt amazing to get his parents back anyway he could. "I still don't understand the banana splits, don't get me wrong it's amazing and all, but you'd just never think bananas would go with ice cream." He shrugged getting lost on a train of thought taking him far from where he'd been standing. This happened a few times as it was so easy to get him distracted, but luckily around Tim he could easily focus once more. "Hey, I shared with you a few times. That's justice right?" Okay so in reality he shared very seldomly, but he did buy lots of sugars and sweets for when he'd been allowed to have Tim over and they camped in the guest house. Oh those were such fun nights, "And could you imagine me fat?" He puffed out his cheeks pushing his stomach out the most he could, "I'd look hideous. I'd damn resemble-" He took a deep breathe as though this next bit was freaking him out, the thought alone actually sending chills down his back, "My father." He burst out laughing, one thing he never wanted to do in life was resemble his father in any way.
Carter chuckled and nodded as he watched his best friends lips as he talked, sometimes they could put him in such a trance, but tonight he'd at least been able to focus on the conversation enough to have a good reply for him. "It better be one damn good game plan, must be fool proof!" Carter was an absolute fool, he'd be the first to admit that, so of course he would want a plan that he could actually see himself being able to succeed at. He then started to wonder if that'd even been possible, could Carter succeed at anything involving weapons and violence? He then grinned when Tim made it that much better when he'd said 'weapon of choice', "I'd so take a flame thrower or something!" He could see himself lugging one of those around burning everyone like ants with a magnifying glass. "Or maybe a bazooka," He tried to picture himself working one of those things but just couldn't, "Or maybe not, that's a bit too much weapon for me. Flame thrower it is," Obviously that was not a normal weapon for a horror movie, but Carter had never been an ordinary man so it worked out. "Isn't that how it always is?" He asked when Tim said he'd be around in case of an eff up. He had been Carter's bandaid for many years, Carter would do something bad and Timothy would be there to fix it, so it seemed only natural that he'd have to be there when Carter turned into some psycho killer. He'd be the one making sure Carter left no evidence behind or anything of the sort. "Oh yeah, we'd be killer!" He thought about how lame that sounded and burst out laughing, "Wow I so did not just say that." He shook his head, sometimes he just had to laugh at himself.
Carter tried to imagine Chuck Norris and Tim standing in a ring together, and he just couldn't as he watched Tim's gestures. He really was absolutely adorable, and gorgeous but he couldn't really mention that one outloud. "How about I get in there and go a few rounds with the ol' brute?" He asked putting his fists up in a defensive stance as he bounced around some on the balls of his feet. "I bet I could last-" He stopped bouncing and started to think for a second, "Like ten seconds so yeah, not that long at all." He chuckled shrugging. He grinned proudly when he'd gotten Tim to admit that he would have stuck around no matter what, "I know," He admitted when Tim had called him pretty cool, and he puffed his chest out some feeling confident with those words. Then the lame came out, Carter's chest deflated as he sighed, "Way to be a buzz kill!" He teased. "You're damn right, lame is the new cool!" He puffed that chest of his right back out and grinned proudly. He loved how Timothy seemed to have his own sense of confidence, and nodded as he explained the 'phone and calling him' part. That was entirely true, even Carter couldn't deny that! "You're right, you're my knight in shining armour." he grinned ruffling through Tim's hair quickly before pulling his hand away as he'd been nothing more than teasing the other right now. "Is that so?" He asked when Tim had countered his compliment, of course starting to laugh once more. Only Tim would do something like that and Carter would find it funny. Carter looked at his friend dumbfounded as he shook his head still laughing, sometimes Tim and him were just too hysterical for really no big reason at all. Just being around one another had been all it needed to keep Carter in fits of giggles.
Carter sighed shaking his head, how could he keep up the joke when his friend was giving him such sympathetic eyes? He just grinned, and knew that he needed to just show Tim and get the excitement over with. Plus, if on the sad chance that Tim hadn't liked the idea of the toy he could just put it back and the two could hunt around for something else. He took a deep breathe as he picked the toy up and showed Timothy, but when he'd seen and heard the response he'd wanted he just grinned watching the man. His eyes widened as he watched the man infront of him with the box. "I'm glad you like it," Carter said proudly though he knew he would anyway, Carter and Timothy had the same taste for the most part. When he picked the lightsabers up he just laughed grinning still as he heard what Timothy had said, luckily letting him know that he'd wanted these too. "Yes sir," He laughed as he had been turned towards the register and he pretended to march with the toys they'd wanted in their hands. "Anything else?" He asked turning around to face the other when they were in the line behind a family. [/blockquote]

" Tim shrugged, grinning warmly at the recollection of the old days. His mother certainly had thought Carter was too skinny. Tim couldn't remember a single meal where his friend hadn't been practically forced to stuff himself full. " I know.." Tim nodded, scrunching his eyebrows together, " I wonder who invented the banana split, anyway. And how. Don't you?" He looked over at the other man, eyes wide. " Maybe there was some guy who just sat around all day, trying to think of ways to make the ice cream experience even more epic." It would've been incredibly boring, of course, but at least he'd brought something amazing into the world. Tim shook his head. " If it were me, though, I would've named it after myself." He grinned, remembering the few times Carter had shared with Tim. That had taken a lot of guilt-tripping on his own part. Though, he was quite sure he'd stolen more than his fair share of his friend's desserts while the other wasn't looking. He laughed at the idea of Carter ressembling his father, ignoring the awkwardness he felt at any discussion of the other man's parents. Tim raised his eyebrows, giving the other a once-over. " It would have to be fool-proof, wouldn't it?" he asked, thinking along the exact same lines as his friend. " Knowing you, though, even that won't be enough." He grinned in amusement. And took in a deep breath at the thought of Carter with a flame-thrower. Thank God this was only a theoretical conversation - an image of the other man, yielding such a dangerous weapon, yelling something incomprehensible popped into Timothy's mind, and he had to struggle to keep from grimacing. Knowing Carter, he'd end up trapping himself in a burning building created by his own misdeeds. " I'll have my firefighting gear on hand," he decided gravely. He would totally be able to commandeer a firetruck. Hell, he might even have fun doing it. " Pretty much," he grinned, proud of how much of a help he'd been to Carter over the years. As expected, he groaned in reply to his friend's lame joke, shaking his head sadly. " I say we pretend that never happened," he offered, though he could hardly keep the regular grin from sliding onto his face. Tim's head-shaking only became more pronounced at Carter's next suggestion. " No way I'm letting that happen. It'd be more like a tenth of a second, if that. You wouldn't even see Chuck's roundhouse kick coming - it'd just be there, his foot in your face, followed by a whole lot of K.O." Immediately, Tim associated 'K.O.' with Super Smash Brothers, and imagined what it would be like to have Chuck Norris as one of the characters to choose from. He'd win every time, for sure. He grinned at the other's egotistical remark, laughing as he appeared to deflate in a matter of seconds and rolling his eyes as Carter undid the action. " You're full of it," he informed his friend, giving him a comradely pat on the back. Lame, cool, whatever, Tim knew he'd never want the other man to change a single thing about himself. Well, there were a few - excessive drinking, wrecklessness - he wouldn't mind living without, but for the most part, he loved Carter just the way he was. How sappy could he get? Tim gave Carter a wide smile, quite liking the idea of being a knight in shining armor. " Oy," he protested, moving a hand to his head in a pointless attempt to restore order to his hair. If anything, he only made it worse, but he didn't particularily care all that much. He grinned in what he thought might be a cute way, nodding and replying, " yes," to Carter's question. He still didn't really know what that had to do with anything, but hey - he didn't mind compliments. He glanced around the store, trying to see if anything in particular popped out at him. " Hmmm..." he narrowed his eyes, trying to decide. Then, after a moment replied, " I don't see anything. Laser tag and lightsabers will probably keep us busy for a while." He turned back, practically running into his friend before realizing they were already at the register. " Sorry," he laughed, stepping back slightly and glancing casually over at the shelf of bubblegum and chocolate bars beside them. [/ul]

Carter nodded and looked down at his outfit he had been wearing tonight. He had dressed up somewhat though, it had been a night for apologies and he hadn't wanted to look like a scrub, but still he knew Timothy knew his regular style rather well. "If you weren't around to tell me to do laundry because my clothes are smelling up the place i'd still be wearing dirty old hole infested clothes." That had been the truth, Carter had been rather lazy and if Timothy hadn't been around with the motivation nothing would get done. Okay, so maybe he wasn't that bad but he was rather lazy when it involved housework, or in their case dorm / suite work. "Great, now all I picture is some five hundred pound hairy in all the wrong places man sitting around shoving bananas down his throat while choking on ice cream." The image could give him nightmares had he kept thinking about it. "After yourself? So I could be eating a Timothy Sundae?" He grinned at the thought, his mind going straight to the gutter as he could imagine chocolate sauce and whipped cream being smeared over the other mans body. He had to stop himself as he was getting carried away, a smirk appearing on his lips as he'd loved the idea.
He nodded pathetically with his bottom lip pouted outwards as Timothy mentioned the fool-proof plan, and then the next sentence had pretty much been a slap in the face. A humorous one though, one that had him laughing as he nodded, "I'm going to pretend that was just a joke," He grinned though made sure that his actions showed Timothy that he had taken no offense to the words. If anything he'd agreed with them wholeheartedly. He grinned as he watched Tim of course figuring he'd been imagining Carter with the flamethrower, and sure enough the next comment had been a smart remark about the fire gear. "And where do you expect to get a hose to put the fire out?" He didn't start thinking about the firetruck until just barely, and from there he burst out laughing. "You'd look like one of those cartoons, the outfit four times too big for you as you're rushing through the streets driving the massive truck. You going to use the siren?" He asked piping up and his laughter ceased to sound immediately, he was really interested when it came to the siren. He loved the simple things that amused him so much. "Does it ever get boring?" He took a moment out of their joking and playful conversation to talk about something absolutely serious. He just couldn't help it though, he'd been curious sometimes.
Carter tried to keep his serious expression but as the two were continuing their chat about Chuck he just couldn't help but break down and start to giggle. He just found it hilarious to think about getting kicked in the face by Norris. "Think he'd autograph the black and blue?" He knew that had Norris gotten ahold of him though he'd have more than a small black and blue to worry about, "You're so good to me, not wanting me to get hurt and all. It's so nice to know you care," He had a teasing tone in his voice but at the same time he did know that the other cared a lot about him, he just didn't know exactly how much he had cared. "You better believe it," He knew that hearing Tim say he'd been full of it had not been the biggest compliment, but he took what he could get and with the pat on the back he couldn't help but grin. Sure it hadn't been a hug or a kiss or anything, but it had been physical contact and at the time he couldn't complain. He'd been that much in need of the others touch no matter how foolish that sounded, he was addicted and everytime that Timothy got close to him Carter could feel weak in the knees.
Carter had been proud that he had found something that would keep Timothy and him interested though, and as they reached the counter he put both things up there and grinned as he looked back at Tim and noticed he'd been looking at the candy. "We should probably get some of this stuff too huh?" He asked pulling down a few bars and other favorite goodies that'd been hanging and placed on the shelves infront of them. Damn impulse buys at the counter, but he had already said that money had been no object tonight. "We're going to need our energy for when I kick your ass at lasertag," he teased giving the other a wink as he started to get rung up. He had a short pleasant conversation with the person behind the counter as he paid them and grabbed the two bags that their stuff had been in. "Shall we go home, or back to the hotel I mean?" He asked holding the bags in one hand as he held his arm out for Timothy with the other. He was trying to be a gentleman tonight and hoped he'd been doing alright with it. "What would you do without someone as amazing as me?" He asked teasing as he nudged him with his elbow some as they made their way out the door. [/blockquote]

" he said, half laughing. A lot of the time, though, it seemed that he had to force Carter to get his laundry done. If Tim's mom had taught him anything, it was how to keep himself (and others) clean. As his friend continued speaking, Tim let out a grunt of distaste, trying to clear the image of the fat, 'hairy in all the wrong places' man from his mind. " Eyuck, as if you haven't given me enough nightmares already," he complained, though he had to grin, adding, " by the way, I don't think 'cooking' is the right word to use when you're talking about ice cream." He paused, looking thoughtful. " What word would you use to talk about making ice cream, anyway?" he asked, suddenly curious. And experiencing a strong desire for ice cream. " Yeah..." he nodded, quite liking the idea of having a sundae named after himself. Then, Tim noticed the look on Carter's face and immediately recognized the hidden innuendo in that statement. " Whoa, there," he raised his hands defensively, raising his eyebrows, " that's a bit too kinky for my taste... hah, get it? Taste, ice cream.." He smirked at his own joke, careful to avoid considering the sexual aspect of the conversation. " Of course it was a joke!" Tim assured Carter, smiling widely. They both knew there was a bit of truth in it, but there was really no point in voicing the knowledge. Especially since neither of them would actually be killing anyone. Hopefully. Tim raised an eyebrow as his friend asked about the hose, suprised that the other hadn't thought of stealing a fire truck as quickly as he had. " From my red hot fire engine, that's where," he grinned, laughing almost immediately afterward. That would be one hell of a ride. He'd probably end up crashing it, though. " Why would I not use the siren?" He pointed out, shocked that Carter would ask that. " If I'm going to have the fire truck and the oversized suit, I'm damn well going to have the siren, too." He lifted his chin, giving himself a self-important air. " I'm the mastermind, after all. My needs are the most important." The mastermind always got what they wanted in the end. Of course, in this case, Tim wasn't entirely sure what the ultimate goal would be. Probably to ride off in the sunset. In the afore-mentioned red hot firetruck. Now that would something to write home about. Tim grinned, nodding to himself. He was just full of excellent ideas today. As their conversation took a more serious turn, Tim had to struggle to keep himself from jumping to the old make-a-joke mechanism. Instead, he honestly considered Carter's question, shrugging slightly. " I don't think boring's the word. Finding you is always an adventure. I'd probably say stressful. 'Cause, you know, sometimes.." he drifted off, smiling in embarassment and glancing away. " Sometimes I'm afraid I won't be able to find you, or I won't be able to help you, or.." he spoke the words in a rush, gaze flicking to Carter's eyes before drifting away again, " something. It can be nerve-wracking." Tim shoved his hands into his pockets, feeling instantly guilty for bringing this up now. He hadn't wanted to have any sort of serious conversation tonight, but the opportunity had come up so suddenly, and he couldn't just not take it. Besides, they had spent an awful lot of time joking around, ignoring this stuff. There would never be a really good time to talk about it. Tim laughed along with Carter, nodding. " Definitely. He probably gets that a lot, what with his reputation and everything," he guessed, " after all, not everyone can say they've been - oh, wait. I guess it's just a given that Chuck Norris owns everyone, so we're all entitled to the claim that he's beaten us up. He doesn't even have to do anything." Tim grinned, wondering what it was like to be idolized in such a way. The few times he'd seen Chuck Norris on tv, the bloke hadn't looked so terrible. But there seemed to be some sort of common understanding that he was the ultimate fighter. Tim gave Carter a winning smile, resisting the urge to wink in an overly dramatic manner. " Of course I care!" he agreed, thinking back over their previous conversation on the subject. " Of course I believe it," he replied to his friend's words, rolling his eyes, " I'm the one who said it." Tim jumped, caught in the act of dreaming about candy. " Oh, yeah, you know - if you really want it," he told Carter sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. Then, he grabbed an extra package of smarties and added it to the growing pile of goodies, giving his friend an angelic look. However, the look quickly turned to a sneer, and he shook his head. " Yeah, right. In your dreams. We both know I'm the ultimate laser tag King," he declared importantly, acting regal. In reality, they were probably evenly matched. Though, Tim hadn't played in quite some time. Which meant that if Carter one, he'd be able to claim lack of experience or forgotten skills or something. Either way, he was safe from ridicule. Tim laughed as his friend referred to their hotel room as home (not that he'd mind living there instead of their dorm), and linked arms smoothly. " Sounds like a plan," he replied, growing more excited by the minute. " I'd probably melt in a puddle of boredom," he admitted to the other man's next question, figuring Carter was probably the main cause of any and all excitement in his life. [/ul]

"You flatter me!" He grinned teasing his friend as he shrugged some, "I guess you're right though." He hadn't been entirely bad, sometimes he just liked to exaggerate things because it'd been funnier. Gross but funnier nonetheless, in his mind at least. He happened to grin when he had put that picture in his friends mind though, so now at least he wasn't the only one that could throw up that burger they'd eaten earlier at any minute. Nah, as much as it had grossed him out to think about that he wouldn't throw up or anything, he always did have a rather morbid mind. He nodded, cooking probably hadn't been the best word, and then he heard Tim ask the question. "Um," He thought about it for a second and snapped his hand, "Don't you churn ice cream or something?" He had remembered seeing that word on the carton. "I remember back in the day when our class, like second or third grade, when we made homemade ice cream in a tin can rolling it back and forth or something. That's about all I remember though, tasted damn good at least." He shrugged as he grinned, he had a great memory when it came to food and other things that made him happy. "Shi-" He stopped before he had time to finish the swear when he realized that Tim had figured out those dirty thoughts of his, "HA!" He burst out laughing when Tim had explained the joke, "I may be lame but you're damn corny!" He couldn't stop laughing, it'd been rather hilarious considering the play on words.
Carter closed his eyes for a second trying to imagine Tim stealing a fire engine. He could see the man pulling off some ninja assassin moves as he rolled and ducked his way into the firehouse, and from there he could see Tim sneaking around and into the fire engine. Luckily the keys would be in the ignition and he could see Tim start that monster up and barrel through the doors not caring who got in his way. Obviously he wouldn't be opposed to hitting people, he'd been stealing a damn truck so it's not like he wanted to get caught knowing it probably meant some time behind bars, so he'd run over anything that got in his way. "You better," He would be so upset with his best friend if he didn't use the siren. "You going to steal their dalmation so you have the whole entire firefighter thing going on?" He asked, why on earth had Dalmations been the dogs most referred to when it came to firefighters. "Your needs?" He shook his head as though disappointed in his friend, "Always thinking about yourself aren't you?" He sighed, "And here I thought you were better than that, Timothy." He kept shaking his head, a move that mothers would pull when disappointed with their children.
Carter had actually liked that Tim didn't shy away from the conversation, or that he didn't go and throw some joke around, but he wouldn't have hollered at him if he did. Carter had been the type to throw random jokes around during uncomfortable conversations, so it'd been refreshing that Timothy had used the same tactic. The difference between Carter and Tim though? Tim's jokes were humorous and not always dirty, Carter's were nothing more than smut left and right. He stayed silent though and couldn't help but smile when his friend showed concern that he'd lose him forever, "You know i'm always going to be around right? You'll never lose me," He shook his head as he placed a hand on the others shoulder. He couldn't believe he'd been staying so serious, it was a nice change from the usual joking and crazy antics. "How about this, and i'm not wasted tonight so i'll remember telling you this tomorrow," He grinned since most of their serious conversations had been when he'd been wasted. "When I start to become too much just tell me and i'll calm it down so you don't have to worry?" He asked, completely heartfelt. He leaned in brushing a soft kiss on the corner of Tim's lips before pulling away and smiling, "But don't for a second think that you'll lose me alright?" He wanted to make sure that Tim knew that above anything, Carter was too damn stubborn to slip away from Timothy for too long, he needed that man to keep him going.
Carter couldn't stop giggling though, it had been quite a nice change in conversation after they had just been so serious, and nodded shrugging some when the two were making the random comments about Chuck Norris. "Where would the fun in that be?" He asked pouting, "If someone's going to go around telling everyone they beat my ass you better believe i'm going to make them do it." He then thought about it and how stupid that had just sounded, it's as though he'd been begging to get his ass kicked. "Oh, nevermind!" He waved his hand not having a clue what he'd been talking about. He did know that meeting Norris, even if it was just to get his ass kicked, would be an amazing honor. He just grinned when Timothy admitted that he cared, he had known the entire time but still it felt so good when he heard him say it each time.
"Candy is ALWAYS a good idea," emphasis on the always of course. "Except when one of your parents is a dentist or something," He shrugged laughing some at the joke he had made. "You? Beat me? You must be dreaming," He went and gently pinched the man as if trying to wake him up from some dreamworld. "We'll just have to find out who the best is tonight, an all out war." He smirked giving him an almost evil little cackle as he picked the bags up from the counter. "Yeah, you are pretty boring without my ass around for entertainment aren't you?" He asked poking him in the side as he walked arms linked with the man right out the door and down the street. At least getting back to the hotel wouldn't be as hard as finding this store, they just had to retrace their steps, and since Carter had been sober he could actually remember his steps for once. "I think you'd do fine without me," He spoke up as he looked over at the man, "You'd be just fine without my crazy ass around, don't think that you'd be boring for a second. You'd find new friends, maybe even a hopeless case like me again." He winked as he pulled him in the direction of the other street they needed to take.

" Tim raised an eyebrow in response to Carter's mention of the flattery, " and I'm always right - I think we've discussed that before." He laughed, unsure of exactly how many times he'd used the excuse of his superior knowledge to try to talk Carter out of something. It rarely worked, but at least he got to do the whole 'I-told-you-so' thing when it was all over. Not that that made any difference, either; Tim's friend did what he wanted most of the time, even if he's already learned that lesson. Because, who knows - maybe it could've been "different that time." Tim smirked, shaking his head. As long as the other man was having fun, he could live with it. He shrugged as Carter mentioned churning; he though that might've been something to do with butter, but butter and ice cream technically came from the same place, so how much of a difference could there be? " Sounds about right," he decided. He instantly had to smile at the memory of home-made ice cream. It'd always been his favourite. " Oh, yeah, that was good. If it wasn't so much work to make, I'd have it all the time," he admitted. Then, he started laughing again at his friend's response to his joke, rolling his eyes. Tim watched as Carter tried to imagine the whole grand theft auto a la firetruck scenario happening. Truth be told, he didn't know how he'd go about doing that himself. He'd probably just dress up as a fireman, make a fake emergency phone call, hop into the drivers' seat and get on the road.. then, while the truck was moving down a straight portion of highway or something, he'd make his way through, 'taking care' of the real firefighters before heading off to save Carter's ass. He nodded in assurance that he would, indeed, have that siren going, then frowned. " It depends how loyal the dalmation is to the crew. I wouldn't want him turning on me at the critical moment," he pointed out. Then, with sudden inspiration, realized, " oh, but I can just feed it! Instant loyalty!" So long as this great adventure remained in their imaginations, nothing would go wrong. At the other man's disappointment, Tim turned to him, an almost injured look on his face. " Oh, Carter," he sighed, applying the ever-useful puppy dog eyes, " don't you want me to get what I want?" He smiled in what he hoped might be a convincing manner. Tim glanced down at his friend's reply, pressing his lips together slightly. " Yeah, but.. things could get out of hand. It hasn't happened yet, but you never know." He shrugged, feeling a bit like an overprotective mother. Hopefully Carter wouldn't see it that way, though. Besides, Tim let him get away with more than any self-respecting parent ever would. He let a small smile slip across his face as Carter pointed out his sobriety, looking the other in the eye once more. " You're always too much," he laughed, half-joking. Then, he became somewhat serious again, adding, " but yeah. I'll let you know." He nodded, feeling Carter move closer and, soon, their lips touch. " Okay," he agreed quietly as the conversation drew to an easy close. It was funny, how in an entire evening of meaningless banter, they could have one, tiny, meaningful conversation like that and clear so many things up. Already, Tim felt more at ease about the whole issue of Carter's drinking and wrecklessness. He laughed, shaking his head at his friend's next words. " Alright, man. But it's your funeral," he warned, knowing that Chuck Norris didn't operate in a kindly manner. Especially where young punks were concerned. Or so he figured. He stuck his tongue out as Carter tried to wave the whole thing off, though he hadn't found the man's statement to be that odd. It made sense that he would want to defend his own honour. At his friend's declaration about candy, Tim had to laugh, nodding in agreement. " In the name of children across the world with dentist parents, we should eat our candy. Because they, my friend, cannot," he cried valliantly, addressing Carter in a rather dramatic fashion and clenching his fist with the injustices such children faced. Then, his expression became grim, and he let out a long sigh. " Don't underestimate me, Carter. It'll be your first mistake of many." He tried to sound menacing, but doubted he'd pulled it off. Besides, Carter would probably win in the end, anyway. What he lacked in brains he made up for in cunning and the ability to wield a lasertag gun. Tim groaned as Carter referred to their coming activities as an all-out war. " I guess I'm just lucky the room's in your name," he decided, not wanting to imagine what it would look like once they were through with it. Fortunately, he was saved from having to do just that by his friend's little insult, which was reason enough to appear angry. " You give yourself too much credit," he complained, though he would be the first to admit that he wasn't the most exciting person in the world. As the other man continued, speaking, Tim looked around, taking in the city for the second time that evening. As Carter's brief statement came to a close, though, he looked over at the man, expression unreadable. " Yeah, right. Believe me - there isn't a single other hopeless case quite like you in the world," he informed him with a sort of appreciative smile. He knew he'd never be able to replace Carter, and hopefully Carter understood that, too. [/ul]

Tim had been true, the pair had discussed how he'd been the smarter of the two many times before, and sometimes Tim did make some good points when listing off reasons why Carter shouldn't do something, but in the end Carter seemed to do it anyway. The worst part about it all was when he had to admit to Timothy that his idea had been stupid, and that the other had been right in most everything that he had said. You'd think Carter would learn his lesson and listen more, but that would make for quite the dull life considering Carter was always getting into trouble it seemed. "I can't wait until you're wrong sometime, for once in your life, and i'm the one that's right. I'm so going to have to rub it in." He grinned and nodded, he knew it probably would never happen where he'd been right while Timothy was wrong, but he could hope at least right? At the thought of having homemade ice cream all the time his stomach rumbled and he rubbed it some, there was no reason he should be hungry considering the massive burger he'd just shoved in his face not too long ago, but he could always make room for ice cream. "We should get some ice cream," He mentioned looking around before bringing his eyes to rest on the other. He just grinned as he noticed the other laughing, the eye roll causing Carter to shake his head some, laughing once more.
The best part about Timothy had been the fact that he let Carter's imagination wander, and he actually fueled the fire to keep it going at any time through stories and descriptions. He did not stomp on the others wild fantasies, well the pleasant and harmless ones anyway, and instead would join in letting both imaginations run freely together. Carter's maturity level was set at that of a childs, well most of the time anyway, so it was nice having Tim around who didn't judge and actually enjoyed his company. It kept things simple and that's all Carter could ever want, simplicity. "Yeah, that'd suck if he bit your arm off or something." Carter stopped imagining as he did not want to see that image in his mind, and instead just grinned and shrugged. "We will have to buy our own dog or something, don't all evil masterminds have a pet? It's normally like a cat or something but we could be different right? We should have a rabbit!" He giggled at the thought of Tim sitting in an oversized chair petting a rabbit behind the ears while watching his evil plan unfold on a television infront of him. "As long as it's not your arm you can feed it, maybe keep some jerky treats in your back pocket or something." He then envisioned the dog smelling them and chomping right down on the mans bum. Even the thought had hurt as Carter started to rub his own bum as he shook his head, "Maybe just hold onto the treats instead," He warned, another giggle now. "No, don't be pulling out the-" He stopped mid-sentence as he noticed the puppy dog eyes in full force. "Of course I want you to get what you want," He of course had hoped the other had wanted him, but he could not think too much about that or it'd just upset him.
Carter's eyes widened when Tim said that things could get out of hand as he just sighed. Tim had been right, Carter knew that he'd snaked out of a few serious situations before with dumb luck, but he knew that luck would run out eventually. He didn't like to think about it though, he liked to think of himself as invincible (though he understood that was not the case). "Guess you'll just have to handcuff me to a chair or something to keep me from doing stupid stuff," He grinned at the thought of Tim handcuffing him to the furniture, oh the dirty mind of Carter was so entertaining. When he kissed him he could feel a swarm of butterflies crashing around in his stomach, and he just grinned as he pulled away and looked into his friends eyes. He too loved that they could be silly most of the times they were together, but small instances like this meant the world to him where they could be serious and heartfelt. "You might not like me as much if I wasn't such an alcoholic though," He grinned, leave it to Carter to break the serious mood and throw a joke in there. He didn't think of himself as an alcoholic in the end though.
Carter laughed but soon a serious look stretched across his face and he shook his head, "Ye of little faith," disappointment strung out in his words. "Aren't you supposed to be there telling me that I could beat him if I just put my mind to it or something?" He asked, pouting. "Where's my pep talk?" He groaned, "You're not being very nice, buddy." He pouted some more but couldn't keep up the long face, so instead burst out laughing. "Why in the world are we still talking about this?" He asked as he had to stop moving to catch his breathe from the intense laughter. Carter was the type that could start laughing hysterically about something small, and then he'd never be able to quit. Listening to his friends declaration Carter just grinned and nodded unsure of what he should do, but after his friend had been done he grabbed a few of the bags and held them into the air, "The candy shall not go uneaten!" He ordered as he looked back at the person behind the counter and got a timid smile to appear across his lips, "Candy?" He offered as the person just shook their head and took the bags from Carter's hand to ring them up. Carter giggled as he leaned in close to Tim to whisper in his ear, "Must have a dentist for a parent." He grinned before paying the man and grabbing the bags. "Just keep telling yourself you'll win, I gotta tell you you're setting yourself up for failure!" Carter had not played the game in a while but he was sure he was still good at all. The worst part about it was hiding and trying to sneak up on the other to get them. Carter had the worst luck when it came to being quiet, but tonight he should try especially hard wanting to win.
Carter smirked and nodded looking over at Timothy, "Yeah, they might not like me so much when the maid comes in to clean the room when we leave." He giggled as he tried to picture what it'd look like. He could see the couch and chairs laying on their backs across the floor for barricades and stuff to hide behind, and of course blankets and sheets would be all over as well. His thoughts returned to their present conversation and he just grinned at Tim during that next statement, "Okay so maybe not entirely boring but I must spice things up at least a little bit right?" He had hoped at least, and by spicing things up he'd also hoped it'd been for the better, but he knew some of the worst came into there too when Tim would have to get his ass out of trouble. When his friend started to talk Carter could not understand whether he'd been joking, or if he had been serious when he'd thought of the other as a hopeless case, but that small smile afterwards cleared Carter's nerves as he just grinned putting his arm around Tim and pulling him close as the two walked. "You should be lucky then that i'm all yours," He teased giving him a playful kiss on the cheek, laughing once more for the millionth time that night it seemed.
ooc ././. hope this isn't too bad and rambly, i'm just getting back into the swing of things so here's hoping it'll be an alright post. next one will flow better, promise! [/blockquote]
