Carter had messed things up once again like usual and of course he had no idea how to make them better. He had avoided Tim for a few days knowing that the last person Tim wanted to see had been him probably, but tonight seemed as good as any to make up and move on. That is what he had loved about their friendship 'relationship'. He could do something to completely fuck things up for them but usually they could get over it. He had hoped that tonight was just like that. He had went all out and spent quite a pretty penny for one of the executive suites in the hotel, a huge amount of space with a hottub in the bathroom for the leisure of it all, and he hoped it would impress his friend. He had dressed up somewhat in a pair of brand new jeans and a white button up shirt. He seemed to be dressed to impress somewhat he thought.
He walked into the bathroom and felt the water for the hottub and grinned. It had been perfect temperature, something he could see himself relaxing in the more he thought about it. He checked his watch and snapped his fingers as he ran out the door and down the hall. He saw the man coming with the food he'd asked to be prepared and nodded that his room was unlocked as he bolted down the stairs instead of hesitating with the elevator. He rushed out the doors and stood there waiting as he'd hoped his friend would have gotten the text he had sent him. He looked back at his phone at the outgoing message i need to see you. i'm out in the city right now, the hilton's the best landmark for where i am. i'll just meet you there It had been a long one and probably was sent in more than just one message but he hoped Tim had gotten it, and even more he hoped he wouldn't ignore him.
He sighed rolling back and forth on his heels before he saw his friend coming into view and he grinned going to meet him, "What took you so long?" He asked taking the mans hand in his and kissing his cheek as though the other night had never happened. "Come on, I have something to show you." He barely let the other talk as he kept hold of his hand and walked into the hotel. He walked past the desk and to the elevator pressing the number to their floor. He stayed silent as he stood next to the man watching the numbers rise once they were both inside safely. He was feeling anxious as he stepped out of the elevator motioning for the other to follow, and as someone had exclaimed that everything was ready he just grinned. He went to his room and put his back to the door as he grinned looking at his friend, "I'm glad you could come," He said opening the door to the massive suite.
He walked over to the table that had been set up with the nice tableclothe and wine glasses, a bottle of red wine sitting in a cooling bucket, and of course there were two silver trays with lids on both sides. "Sit, sit, we don't want dinner to get cold." He grinned as he helped his friend into his seat and stood beside him. "Dinner-" He lifted the tray slowly to show the huge burger slapped between two buns, and of course to Timothy's delight he'd made sure they had home made french fries deep fried to perfection. "Is served," He had owed the man a gourmet burger and fries and tonight he had given him just that. Well so much more than that considering the entire suite was theirs for the night. "What a view huh?" he asked his friend who'd probably been in shock by now as he walked to his side and pulled the lid from the tray off for his own burger. He was starving. [/blockquote]

long without thinking about it. He didn't know why he still felt the need to go over that night in his head. It wasn't as if the same thing hadn't happened before, in the past. How much of his life had been spent fretting over the same old drama? He really needed to find a new hobby, he decided, as the Hilton came into view. Being from New York, the site of tall, shining buildings didn't really phase Tim that much. He admired the hotel in a sort of off-hand way, climbing the gradual steps to the main doors. He didn't even see Carter until the man began walking toward him - that, or he hadn't acknowledged that he'd seen Carter until the man began walking toward him. Tim was still a bit mad about everything, and he didn't care if his friend knew it. " Well, I did have to come from the school," Tim pointed out, allowing Carter to take his hand and kiss his cheek. However, his smile didn't reach his eyes, and he did not return the affection. Clearing his throat, he glanced down at the sidewalk, struggling to control himself. For some reason, being here was harder than he'd thought. Being in the presence of his friend again had caused a flood of emotion to wash through his mind, making it nearly impossible to convey the sort of cool, uninvolved attitude he'd wanted to. As Carter spoke again, Tim was forced to look back up, only allowing his gaze to settle on his friends' for a moment before turning it back to the hotel. " Okay," he agreed weakly. Again, he allowed the other to puppet him along, trying to hide his curiosity. Where were they going, anyway? Had Carter gotten them a hotel room? Oh, that would be too funny. The ride up the elevator was as uneventful and awkward as anyone might expect, and by the time they'd reached the desired floor, Tim felt his spirits falling. This was going to be a hell of an evening. He raised an eyebrow when they came to the door of one of the rooms, groaning inwardly. He had gotten them a hotel room. Normally, Tim would have made some comment about being treated like Carter's mistress, but now was not the time. Not when such an innocent comment might force them to talk about what had transpired. Fortunately, Tim's swirl of thoughts was immediately cut off when the door opened. His jaw dropped open, and he stepped forward, entering the vastness that was their suite. He'd never actually been inside of one of these before. It was surreal. " Holy crap, this is huge!" he cried. Forgetting all his hard feelings for a moment, he turned, eyes glinting excitedly. " Did you hear that? I'm sure it was an echo! Wow!" he exclaimed, venturing further into the area. Everything about the place screamed of disgusting expensiveness; he didn't want to know how much it had cost. Tim didn't even notice the dinner until Carter pointed it out. His eyes widened, and he shook his head, sitting in the offered chair. As the other man lifted the lid of the tray, Tim burst out laughing, unable to hold his grudge any longer. " Wicked," he said, waiting for Carter to sit before shoving a french fry into his mouth. He chewed quickly, swallowing the food in a matter of seconds. " And you're all proper-looking.. so this is what it's like to be rich." He looked out at the view. It was, admittedly, quite spectacular. If all of their fights were resolved like this, they might almost be worth it.[/ul]

Carter knew that his friend had been upset with him still and it was most evident when he hadn't even smiled as Carter had greeted him. He did not think much of it though as he just took his hand and guided him into the building. Tonight had been about making him feel better and so far it hadn't been working, but that was probably because he was more confused than anything since Carter did not tell him what the hell was going on. He couldn't tell him because it would take the surprise out of it and where would the fun in that be? He knew it was sort of weird being silent as he made is way up to their room for the night, but as he opened the door the expression on his companions face made this entire time worth it. He saw the excitement gleam in his eyes as he watched him laughing at the echo comment. For just a moment he knew that his friend had forgiven him, but at the same time he knew it would take a lot more than just showing him a fancy suite. "This isn't even one of the better ones, head down to Florida and then stay in one of these. They're absolutely massive!" Money was a great thing when you knew what to do with it. "She's all ours for the night!" He spoke loudly spinning with his arms right out before he walked beside his friend and scooped his hand around his side to pull him towards the table.
Again the reaction from his food had been one that he had wanted, that of pleasure, and he laughed as he joined him at his seat and watched him bite quickly into that first fry. "And are they to your liking?" He asked as though trying to be as proper as he could. He failed at it though because he was never like that. He took one of his own fries in his hand and chomped it in his mouth as he looked around and realized he was missing something. "Shit, and here I thought it was perfect." He stood up and quickly rushed to the small fridge that had been there and opened it up rummaging through it's belongings. "Ah, here it is!" He spoke proudly as he went and pulled out a bottle of ketchup he had bought earlier. He could not eat french fries without a mountain of ketchup beside them. He brought it back to the table and opened it as he poured some beside his fries and of course he put some on his bun. "Now this burger is about as gourmet as it gets to eat up, I hope it's good." He said grinning as he looked at the monster sitting on his plate. He reached his hand and clasped the burger as he lifted it and took a bite being sent on a whirlwind adventure as the flavors exploded in his mouth. He sure did love the perfect cooked burger and they had done an amazing job here tonight.
Carter leaned back in his chair as he watched his friend take another few bites and couldn't help but just grin as he spoke. "I had to dress up, tonight was quite the occassion. It was sorta one of those i'm sorry I fucked up nights. I'm sure you're familiar with them." He laughed some knowing that he had done some pretty insane things before to get his friend to be happy with him once more, but he had never went all out like he had tonight. He was definitely trying to make a statement tonight and hoped that his friend would approve. Of course that huge grin had made him think that he was doing just that as well which made Carter happy. "Rich? Nah, having money makes you wealthy. Having someone in my life like you is what makes me rich," He said truly meaning it as he cracked one of those charming smiles of his in Tim's direction. He opened the bottle of wine and poured some in both glasses as he slid Tim's towards him, "And i'm even sober right now so i'm doing alright aren't I?" He asked with a grin as he raised his glass hoping Tim would do the same. "To a night of beautiful surprises," He was being sweet and sappy right now without even thinking about it. It had came to be like second nature all of a sudden. "The night is only just getting started though. There are plenty of other things in store for us," He had a few gifts and things randomly hidden around the room for when the two would need them, and of course for now he was going to follow the plan he had set forth earlier in the day. The first item on the agenda had been to eat and that is exactly what they were doing.
Carter surely hoped that with each passing minute the two spent together tonight they could go back to being as close as they had always been and stop avoiding each other. He really hated not having his best friend around and had hoped that Timothy had felt the same way about him. He had gone through the motions of setting this entire evening up for them so it should at least score some brownie points right? He honestly had no idea what to expect when it came to Timothy but that was pretty much some of his charm. "I just thought we could use a night out of that crammed dorm and couldn't think of a better place." Sure the city of Jacksonville wasn't that beautiful so the view was sort of lacking unlike Paris or something, but after dark when all the lights were lit up their high room towered across the city leaving you at least somewhat dazzled. "Feel free to order whatever you want from room service or order whatever you want on the TV. This entire thing is all on me," He loved being able to give Timothy everything that he could. He felt that it was his way of making up for being such a lousy best friend all the time getting plastered and needing him to bail him out so much. This was one of those times that he could return the favor. [/blockquote]

" he decided. He knew that the use of the word 'sleepover' was childish, but he didn't care. He was too busy admiring everything to think up a more mature word. In a way, though, his description had been perfect. It would be like their childhood again. A sort of revival of everything they'd had before all the recent emotional complications; a chance to focus more on the friendship and less on anything else that might be present between them. Tim never really thought about ketchup. He did like it, of course, but it wasn't entirely necessary for him. So, by the time Carter thought of it, he'd already consumed another handful of fries, savouring the taste of deep-fried fattiness. " Delectable," he said in response to his friend's inquiry, quite obviously amused. Here the other man was, all dressed up, trying to sound professional. Tim himself was in a classic sweater-and-jeans combination; hardly fancy enough for all this. He watched as Carter leapt for the fridge, wearing a bemused expression, then grabbed the ketchup once the other was done with it, spurting a good amount onto his plate. He glanced up briefly as his friend mentioned the burger, too intent on his meal to really pay attention. " Good thing you caught me before I ate," he said, abandoning his fries for a moment in order to grasp the burger. He turned it in his hands for a moment, searching for a perfect starting point. Then, once he was satisfied with that, he took a large bite. The mere satisfaction of its taste was enough to illicit a satisfied moan, and he chewed happily, savouring its juicy glory. Once he'd swallowed most of it, he sighed happily. " Oh my God," he said, conveying his feelings perfectly. Tim shrugged, not really wanting to think about the reasons for the night. Until now, he'd all but forgotten his earlier hurt, though it came rushing back quite enthusiastically. He knew his friend was making an effort. A big one. But it wasn't just about going all-out and spending a pretty penny; there was a non-physical element, too. A mental wound which would require more patching up. However, now, Tim wasn't willing to let that ruin their evening. Especially when it had only begun. " Well, yeah, but they've never been..." he looked around the room once more, still amazed by its general size, " like this." He grinned before eagerly eating another french fry as Carter spoke. Well, those words had certainly helped his case. A compliment here, a bit of gratitude there, and they'd be back to normal in no time. Tim smirked. " Well, I'm glad you see it that way," he answered. And he was. No matter how Carter meant that statement, Tim was thankful for it. In fact, it was a bit of a relief, to not want to read into such general words. Tim's eyes lit up suddenly as he realized that the other man was, in fact, sober. It seemed that 'sober Carter' was popping up less and less lately. So much so that Tim hadn't really given much thought to the whole thing. Now, he was even happier - so long as they went easy on the wine, his friend might actually remember tonight without relying on a long, detailed explanation the next morning. What a reward that would be. He raised his glass at Carter's gesture, rolling his eyes at his friend's wishy-washy toast. " Here, here!" he responded, lifting the glass a bit more before taking a small sip of the drink. It was smooth and bitter on his tongue, but satisfying nonetheless. Carefully, he returned it to the table, taking another bite of his burger. He nodded to Carter's comment about the cramped dorm. Sure, it was great in theory, but once in a while a person just had to get out of such a small living space. Besides, rooming together lost its novelty after a while. Something new and exciting - such as a stay in an expensive hotel - tended to provide just the right 'jolt' necessary to get one's life out of such a standstill. Tim's only fear was that something might happen tonight. Some sort of repeat of what had gotten them here, in the first place. He knew that the chances were low; if Carter had gone to all this trouble to say he was sorry, then he probably wouldn't mess it up by trying to make a move on Tim. Besides, Tim certainly wasn't in the place to allow that sort of thing. It probably wasn't even worth worrying about. Satisfied with those thoughts, Tim returned to his meal, practically inhaling a bit more of his burger. Then, he turned his gaze to Carter, smiling. " That's a lot to offer - I hope you know what you're getting into," he laughed. Of course, he would never be able to take advantage of his friend's promise. Even if he wasn't exactly the one footing the bill. Tim was just too polite for that to be the case. Besides, simply being here with Carter was enough, much as he hated to admit it. [/ul]

Carter was one to always go over the top with everything that he did. He did not think logically and simplicity was never his friend. He went all out on anything and everything no matter the cost. He had the money and might as well blow it on something worthwhile right? Plus if he could see that goofy grin of Tim's all night the money he had spent would definitely be worth it. Hearing Timothy talk about it being the 'sleepover of a lifetime' he just laughed looking around the suite one more time. To him he was used to these when his father would have to bring the family away on business, something that he hated to do and yet having family around always made you look like a more honest and trustworthy man, so Carter figured for his entire childhood he'd been nothing more than a pawn in his fathers sick games. That sort of pissed him off but he was too young to go against him, so instead he simply shrugged it off knowing damn well that now he was old enough to rebel and he sure as hell did just that.
Dinner at least seemed to be going well as he looked over at his friend to watch him stuff the fries in his mouth, he knew that he would definitely appreciate the meal since Carter had remembered telling him it'd happen, and plus he'd always thought that the food here had to be better than some you could get at a random fast food joint. When he returned to the table and squeezed some ketchup onto his plate he grinned as he took those first few faithful bites. "If I didn't I would have just had to force feed you." He shrugged trying to act serious before he went and just shrugged, "If I hadn't I could have just sent it back down to the kitchen and we could have done something else." Carter had been laid back in the respect that he honestly hadn't cared how the night progressed, but that did not mean that there wasn't quite the list in his mind of how things should go down for his sake. Carter took another few fries and dabbed them in the ketchup bringing them to his mouth to eat as he heard Tim's display of satisfaction for the burger, and of course that brought a huge grin to his face as he watched the other. "I'm doing good so far aren't I?" He asked with an amused look keeping the grin plastered on his face. "I'm glad you like your meal," If he hadn't of course Carter would complain to the staff considering the night would be ruined in his opinion, so to see Timothy's stamp of approval was much appreciated.
Carter leaned back against his seat some settling for some fries not bothering to dig into the burger again just yet as he watched his friend glance across the giant room. "I thought that this one was a lot bigger than all the other times, thought for the bigger disappointments i'd need the bigger private setting." He shrugged grinning as he looked at the other. He hadn't really thought so much about why he had decided to bring him here. It was sort of one of those spur of the moment ideas yesterday as he passed. He ended up walking into the building and seeing if they had a suite available and they said they did, and that is how things sort of shaped out from there since he'd spent the rest of the day and most of today on getting everything else together. "I just can't fuck up this big again though because around here you can't really get that much bigger than this with it being private. I mean I could rent out six flags for us for the day but I might not have that much money," He grinned as he thought. He surely couldn't have enough money to close down an amusement park for the day just for him and his friends, but if he did that would be super awesome.
Carter knew that he had been super lame and corny through the evening so far, but he also knew that it could only last so long before he couldn't take the sap anymore and went back to being his playful self. He had to admit that he was surprised he'd actually lasted this long, but it was his way of showing the other that he could at least make an effort. He laughed as he took a drink and placed the glass back on the table. He had never been that much of a wine drinker but figured he'd give it a shot, it went along with the fancy look he was going for. He put the glass back down though and started back on his burger. He was hoping to get through as much of it as he could tonight since it was delicious and they never tasted as good warmed up in the microwave. Along with the fries though, but it was mostly true for anything considering the microwaves seemed to dry everything out. He kept looking over to gauge his friends reactions to the entire night, if he even saw the slightest frown he'd have to think of something to distract and wow the man. For now he was doing good though, the other seemed to enjoy.
He finished up a few more fries feeling his stomach already start to get full with each bite. He just kept going though not wanting to leave so much on his plate. Carter could always stuff his stomach to near bursting and it never seemed to bother him. He laughed and nodded at his friend, "Of course it's a lot to offer. That's the whole point I brought us here," He laughed shrugging his shoulders some as he looked at him. "Do I ever really know what i'm getting myself into?" That was an understatement, Carter was always getting himself into something or other. He had a feeling Tim would keep it simple tonight but that wasn't something that bothered Carter. He could go extravagant like he had tonight but he could also keep things toned down and simple. He just had a hard time balancing the both out sometimes. "So I thought after dinner we could go sit out on the balcony or something, or we could watch a random movie, or we could play a game of cards?" He had no idea what Tim's idea of fun had been right now and he just wanted him happy. "Pillow fight?" He said in a teasing manner laughing some. [/blockquote]

" Tim pointed out, eyes glinting mischeviously. He was always one for excitement, providing no one's life was in danger. He knew that, had Carter had to send the food back, he would've felt incredibly guilty, anyway. In fact, he would've eaten this dinner no matter what. And not just because it was the best 'i'm sorry' gift anyone could ask for. He nodded to Carter's question, again remembering their fight. By the end of the night, though, it would be a thing of the past: that was just how they operated. Tim lowered his eyes as his friend explained why he'd chosen this particular room. Alright, apparently he wouldn't be able to avoid this subject as much as he'd hoped. He could feel a blush coming on - admitting his disappointment right now would be like admitting his own weakness in character. It would be like admitting that he wanted - no, needed - more. Suddenly, he felt both foolish and childish. Why did he always make such a big deal out of everything when they both knew how it was going to turn out? Sure, Carter shouldn't have started anything, but Tim could have just pushed him away. Really, they were both just as much at fault. A small smile played across his lips when his friend talked about renting out Six Flags, and Tim willingly met his gaze once more, feeling comfortable again. " Six flags? Dude, you should fuck up more often. Your apologies just get better and better," he laughed, though he didn't really mean it. Of course, it would be fun to get the theme park all to themselves for an entire day.. but Carter's dad wasn't exactly Bill Gates. Tim returned to his meal, taking a few more bites of the burger. He'd already eaten his way through a third of the fries; he couldn't remember gulping them down, but it must've happened somewhere along the way. He just really liked french fries. Of course, with them had gone the ketchup, so he added some more. He glanced up as Carter spoke again, smirking. " Nope. You just dive head-first off the diving board and then look to see if there's water in the pool," he told him philosophically. Tim tended to get carried away with metaphors and such. As his friend continued, Tim glanced back out the window, unable to keep his eyes off the view of the sky. That was the thing - here, you could actually see the sky beyond the city. In New York, you'd be lucky to get a small glimpse, unless you happened to be at the top of one of the higher skyscrapers. Tim ate a few more fries, considering the possibilities. Then, he turned to Carter, shrugging. " Oh, yeah. Let's get into our nightgowns, pull out the feather-pillows and have a smashing good time! Then, after, we can watch the sun set while sipping martinis!" He gave a crooked grin, injecting plenty of false enthusiam into his voice. Really, he didn't know what he wanted to do. He liked the idea of watching a movie, once it was dark outside. Until then, though, the possibilities seemed overwhelmingly endless. [/ul]

"You're not kidding are you?" He asked with a chuckle as he looked at him curiously. He could see himself tackling the other to the ground and forcing the fries down his throat. He of course could not be that forceful considering if the man had started to choke he would have no idea what to do, and to run out into the hall screaming about what happened might look a bit odd. He had to laugh at the image though as he gasped for air telling whoever came to the rescue that he'd made him choke just because he refused to eat Carter's apology dinner. "I didn't think you'd want me touching you at all tonight," He made it come off as a joke while he looked at the other, but of course he was speaking nothing more than the truth. "I'll remember that though if i'm brave enough to order dessert and you refuse," He smirked trying to joke around as he situated himself more comfortably in the chair.
Carter had a hard time keeping their situation silent as he kept talking about how he had messed up. He wished he could just push it to the back of his mind and forget about it, eat the dinner and move on to the next thing that'd happen that night, but as he sat there he had just remembered the disappointment that he'd brought to Timothy the other night. He remembered stepping out of the shower to head back to the room only to find that he hadn't been there. He had no idea where he had went and ended up curling up in his bed alone and laying awake just waiting for those familiar footsteps that would put him at ease. He never did hear them though, either Timothy had never came back to the room that night or Carter had managed to finally pass out long enough for the man to sneak it, and thinking about it that had to be the worst part about this entire thing. He laughed whole heartedly when the man exclaimed that he needed to fuck up more often, "I seem to have been doing fine on that front without the permission but thanks," He had been trying to sound like he was joking but again it was something that he knew was entirely true. He let out a groan trying to put his thoughts into the back of his mind. "Here's hoping that I don't have to go going bigger and better." He laughed knowing that it was becoming too often that he was upsetting Timothy. He needed to stop upsetting him so much but he just didn't know how he could do that.
Carter laughed at the message the other had portrayed and nodded some, "It's not always a bad thing though." He said as he couldn't help but grin proudly as he took another drink of his wine. "My lucks going to run out one day though and there's not going to be that water there," He could see it now as he lay motionless at the bottom of the pool with blood pouring from his head. He had always rushed into things and thought about them later, that was just the sort of person he had been from the start, but it was starting to land him in some seriously hot water. He had no idea what Tim would want to do as he had rambled off some random things that the two could entertain themselves with, but of course he went ahead and threw the pillow fighting in there just as a joke. Of course he heard what Tim had been saying and knew that the man had caught the tail end of the joke and was adding his own humor. "Nightgowns? Should we put rollers in our hair too?" He then put his hand through his hair realizing that it hadn't been that long at all. Even his friends hair might not hold a roller. "Sun sets aren't that big of a deal, it's all about the sunrise my dear." He teased taking another bite of his burger finally being nearly finished as he had forced himself to keep eating a few bites ago. He may be stuffed now but sadly he will probably be hungry in an hour or so. It was just the sort of person that he had been. "You haven't even seen the best part yet," He shook his head with a grin as he thought of the hot tub that had been in the bathroom. Carter knew that the man would not have came with a suit so he took care of that having bought him one at the store earlier, so there really was no reason why he would turn him down, but of course Carter was going to save that for later. " he insisted, shrugging. At Carter's next words, he almost visibly cringed, a guilty look crossing his face. It was true, of course. Were he still in such a mood that he refused to eat the apology dinner, he definitely wouldn't have tolerated being tackled as a result of that refusal. Unsure what to say about it, though, Tim pressed his lips together, choosing to let the comment pass by. It wasn't that he didn't want Carter touching him; it was that he wasn't emotionally able to let it happen again. At least, not in any way that mattered. Not yet. Trying to appear unmoved by the whole thing, Tim grinned, laughing lightly. " Are you kidding? I'd never be able to turn down dessert. It's the only reason I ever finished dinner, you know, as a kid. My mom wouldn't let me have ice cream unless I ate all my veggies." Of course, Carter probably knew this; he'd been over for dinner often enough. Tim knew that now, he should offer some formal form of forgiveness. Put Carter's mind at ease. But the words stuck in his throat, unsure of whether or not the other man quite deserved it now. After all, Tim had felt nothing but awful since the incident. He didn't know how long he'd sat outside, feeling broken and exhausted, torn between anger, frustration and sadness. Would he ever be able to move past that? Time and time again, he let his friend off the hook, and time and time again, Carter pulled him back into the same emotional trauma. No, dinner and a fancy hotel suite weren't enough. The man was going to have to work a bit harder. So, instead of putting his friend's mind at rest, Tim simply said, " well, don't do anything too drastic." He grinned in an off-hand way, blatantly aware of how he'd gone back to being all responsible. He couldn't help it. It came naturally to him. Suddenly, a smile brightened his face, and he donned an amused expression. " Or you could just skip all that and rent Six Flags, anyway. That would be much easier!" he laughed at his own brilliance. No drama, no worries, just good fun. Tim raised his eyebrows, wondering how Carter might justify his comment about diving head-first into a pool without checking the water being 'not always a bad thing.' " Oh?" he responded, implying that his friend continue. He winced at the thought of the other man's luck running out, picturing an equally gruesome image. He didn't like the idea of Carter getting into that sort of trouble. Perhaps it was greedy of him, but without his best friend.. well, he didn't know what he'd do. That's why he'd kept him around for so long, after all - personal well-being had nothing to do with it! Tim almost rolled his eyes at himself, groaning inwardly. Why did he have to go off and make stupid jokes in his own mind? Not only were they glaringly lame, but there wasn't even anyone there to hear them, besides himself. With some effort, he returned his focus to the present, smiling supportively. " Oh, don't worry, I'll throw in a... I don't know. Something soft, so you don't die." He waved it off as if it were nothing. Funnily enough, the idea embodied their friendship perfectly. How many times had Tim thrown 'something soft' into that empty pool? Countless. " Oh, yes!" Tim laughed at the thought of the two of them wearing rollers. Also, the thought of them running around in dainty nightgowns, beating each other with pillows. That would be one for the yearbook, definitely. Then, he rolled his eyes at the comment about sunrises. " Oh, please. They're practically the same thing - just one's backward." Then, he shook his head at their ridiculous conversation. " Besides, the only way we'll ever see the sunrise is by staying up all night," he added. In fact, they might end up staying up all night, if there was enough to do. It wouldn't be the first time. Tim gave Carter a look of interest when he mentioned that there might be something even better than what he'd seen already. Immediately, he looked around the room, trying to discover what this thing might be. Then, failing to do so, he looked back at the other man, leaning forward slightly. " What is the best part?" His expression conveyed his excited curiosity. Of course, knowing Carter, he wouldn't give a direct answer, wanting to save whatever it was as a 'suprise for later.' [/ul]

Carter could only laugh as the other spoke about dessert as he'd remembered the many times he had ate over at his house. He had loved to go to Tim's house and spend time with his family, so of course whenever it was even mentioned Carter found it impossible to turn down the chance to hang out with a normal family. He'd always sat around Tim's house often wondering what would have happened had his family been normal, but since he knew that would never happen he had to settle for the next best thing, and that had been his best friend, or his makeshift second family Carter liked to refer to them ass. There was nothing substitute about this family though, if anything Carter would throw all ties to his own out the window just for a chance to be happy with these. He sighed lightly having to bring himself back into the conversation, "Your mother always made the best sundaes didn't she? She always put that stack of whipped cream on mine that was like this high-" He brought his hand to hover over the table at about the same height as his chest. "Okay, okay, so maybe it wasn't that high but you know what i'm talking about." He grinned laughing as he'd always seemed to over exaggerate. It got the point across though and that's all that really mattered.
Carter had hoped that his friend would at least say something that would make him feel better. He knew that it was still very early in the evening but he did not want to spend most of his night trying to make things better. He would much rather enjoy his time with Tim with no worries, but instead here he sat worried about each word that came from his lips hoping that it wouldn't sting the other to hear. He worried about every action that he made making sure that he kept his distance from the other until he at least got somewhat of a signal that things had gotten better between them. He could not do anything that'd upset the other while he'd already been down and out because it'd just bring him further from Carter and that was unacceptable, "I'll try not to, you know for your sake and all," he teased laughing some. If only Tim had known how much it had hurt Carter just as much to see him anything but his happy normal self. Carter's feelings had been so developed for the man that he just could not stand to see him in any sort of pain. His laughter became louder and much more present when Tim made that last little joke, or at least Carter had hoped that it'd been a joke because he of course wasn't that wealthy, but if he had the money he sure as hell would have done it just to make his friend happy. "I'll get right on that one," He grinned rolling his eyes some just in a teasing manner.
Of course his friend had to question what he was talking about, but that didn't matter because Carter had the perfect thing to tell him. "That night when you picked me up at the bar a couple of years ago," He started as he let the flashback play in his mind before he told his friend. The images of that night were extremely vivid as this had probably been one of the best nights of his life. "You called us a cab to get home and we slept outside in my backyard? You know, on the hammock," the thought alone of his drunken ass trying to get into a hammock was hilarious. Hell he had a bad time when he even went and tried to get into it sober, but somehow the two of them had managed that night considering they'd woken up there in the morning. "Remember when I sorta just kissed you out of the blue expecting you to just punch me right in the face? Yeah, I sorta took that jump without thinking." He shrugged, drunk or not the first time he had kissed Timothy was something that he would remember no matter what. A broad grin came across his face as he leaned across the table some to inch closer to him, but he did make sure to keep his clothes out of the food that was left on his face. "And remember how you kissed me back?" He grinned thinking more about that night in the hammock. He hadn't known if his friend had actually liked men or not but of course he'd known that he liked his friend, so he just figured the alcohol gave him that added courage to just go for it. After that he could kiss him anytime, sober or drunk, so that at least was helpful. He had actually had that thing somewhere tucked into a closet for when he'd gotten his own place one day. "Come to think of it all my examples are from when i'm plastered huh? I guess i'm just a pansy when i'm sober, better drink up right?" He asked as he brought the whole bottle of wine almost to his lips but stopped giving the other a grin as he put the bottle down. "Just playing, oh and i'd appreciate that." He said in mention of the 'something soft'.
"What?" He gasped as his friend had made the comment about sunrises and sunsets being practically the same thing. "For the sake of arguement i'm going to pretend you did not just say that," He of course had been joking but still did prefer his sunrise, "Everyone can enjoy the sunset but only a select few get to enjoy the sunrise," He grinned thinking that how he'd just put it fit if perfectly, but of course more people than just a 'select few' got to bare witness to the beauty. "I should be a truck driver after I graduate, i'm lazy enough for it." He could see himself buying a nice cushion to put in a truck and just driving across country. "Are you telling me that you plan on going to bed tonight?" He didn't mind so much of course if the two ended up falling asleep, but then he looked at the huge bed that'd been in there. Either he'd have to forgive him enough to let him sleep in the same bed, or Carter was going to get stuck sleeping on the couch that had been in there. He wouldn't mind either way, this was all about making Tim comfortable and Carter could oblige to anything. When he watched his friend look around the room he just grinned, of course he could not see it from where they were, but why would Carter spoil it for him? He didn't like that it had to be in the bathroom, but then again that had been like an entire other hotel room being huge and so vacant. Plus it'd been the only part in the room without carpet so the water wouldn't ruin it. "I guess you'll have to forgive me and find out later," He grinned raising his burger and chowing down on the last few bites before he'd be done. He could feel his stomach wanting to explode but the dinner was so worth it.
ooc, sorry if this is all rambly. [/blockquote]

" he agreed thoughtfully, " you'd always go right ahead and start eating. But I would always complain that you'd gotten more, and try to sneak extra whipped cream when she left the room." He laughed, shaking his head at the memory. " But she always caught me, and threatened to take away my whole sundae if I didn't be quiet and appreciate what I'd gotten." He looked over at his friend. " I'm still sure she tried to spoil you." That was the other thing about his mom. Over the years, as tough as Carter's life had been, as much trouble as he'd gotten Tim into, she hadn't ever really 'given up' on him. In fact, that was probably where Tim had inherited his staying power from. " Good," Tim nodded, also laughing. It would, of course, be great to have Six Flags all to themselves, but just a bit greedy. There would probably be little kids lined up outside, their noses pressed to the fence, wondering why these two, nearly-grown men were running around, going on all the rides. However sad the image was, it was still quite funny. And the exact sort of thing he and Carter would do, if they had the means. Tim allowed his imagination to wander for a moment.. which rides would he go on? The roller coasters, definitely. And the water rides. He couldn't get enough of water rides, but they always had really long line-ups, even when it was raining. Oh, no! It couldn't be raining for their outing! Tim gave Carter a horrified look, suprised that they'd managed to leave out such an important detail. " You'd ensure that it was sunny out that day, too, right? Make a call to the weatherman?" He managed to pull off his words while remaining completely serious, which was a feat indeed. The night when... Tim raised an eyebrow. There had been many of those nights. Fortunately, though, Carter was already elaborating. As his friend continued, recognition sparked in Tim's eyes, and he nodded slowly. A soft look slid across his face as he remembered that evening. After the initial shock and worry about getting to the bar, getting Carter, and getting home, things had turned around considerably. He could still remember how he'd had to untangle the other man from the hammock - that had taken a good twenty minutes, and he still had no idea how his friend had gotten himself into that knot in the first place. He also had no idea how they'd managed to get the hammock up, but that was another story entirely. And then... Tim glanced down at what remained of his meal as Carter continued, chewing at his bottom lip. He would bring this up tonight, wouldn't he? The thing they hardly ever really talked about. The thing that had made this whole apology necessary in the first place. As Carter finished repeating the memory, Tim nodded, looking back up. For the first time that evening, the cautious hardness was gone from his eyes, and he found it difficult to swallow. " Yeah," he managed softly, unable to say more. That had definitely been a night to remember, though he still had mixed feelings about it. Especially since it hadn't lasted in the way he would've liked. Fortunately, Carter had the sense of mind to lighten the tension with a joke, and Tim grinned in relief. " You dolt," he said at the wine bottle joke, using one of his somewhat nerdy vocabulary words. He shook his head, eating another fry. " You're still a pansy when you're drunk, by the way. Just a less inhibited one. I can distinctly remember you freaking out, once, when I was drag- er, escorting you home. I think you'd stepped in a puddle and gotten your favourite sneaker wet." Tim raised his eyebrows at Carter's words. " A select few? People who are willing to wake up in the am? I think my grandmother calls those keeners," he laughed, casting another glance out the window. Really, he didn't prefer sunsets over sunrises, or vice versa. Sunsets were calming, peaceful and vibrant. They let you know that the peacefullness of sleep was coming. Or, in some cases, the wildness of the night. Sunrises, on the other hand, brought promise. Plus, they were much brighter, and generally came with the sound of birds. But maybe he was just being a hopeless romantic, right now. He gave his friend a strange look at the thought of him becoming a truck driver." You'd still have to navigate the roads, and stuff. Oh, and you wouldn't be able to drink while you were on the job," he thought about truck driving for a moment. It wouldn't be bad. Sitting, listening to the radio. Lonely, yes, but interesting; you'd get to see all sorts of places, meet all sorts of people.. and get fat. Most truck drivers were fat. " You'd be fat," he added, grinning. " Maybe we should just go on a road trip." Actually, a road trip wouldn't be such a bad idea. It was exactly the type of activity the two of them could excel at - Tim, of course, would be in charge of the map, and Carter would be in charge of the excitement factor. A metaphor for life. He shrugged, not sure if he'd want to go to bed or not. " Well, if we stay up to see the sun rise, I'll want breakfast with it. And after breakfast, we'll be all hyped up.. unless, of course, we're this full." He stretched himself out, trying to make room for the last handful of fries on his plate. The burger, of course, was long gone. But it seemed like such a waste, to leave that potatoey-goodness behind. As Carter spoke again, Tim looked up, giving him a pouty look. " Oh, that's a dirty trick," he told him. However, the way things were going, the man would be forgiven in no time. Tim was already starting to feel better, and they'd only just eaten dinner. The more he talked to Timothy the more he could feel the tension in the room being lifted. At first his friend might have been hesitant to laugh and show any sign of enjoyment but as the night progressed he could see him loosening up right before his eyes. The grin while they talked about his mothers 'famous', the word Carter would use to describe such delicious desserts, sundaes had brought a glimmer of hope to Carter's mind that things might just get back to normal sooner than later. "Of course I was going to dig right in, that woman made it to perfection each time and I surely couldn't let that go to waste." He would of course remember the plenty of times that Tim would sneak over for the whipped cream after his mother had left the room, and sure enough as though there was a tracking device planted on the food she knew when he was putting some extra on his dish and would come back in griping about him not appreciating his food. "Of course she tried to spoil me, who wouldn't?" He puffed out his chest proudly before deflating it laughing as he sunk in his chair. "Alright so i'm not all that great, she probably just did it because she felt bad for the charity case," He referred to himself as that though knew Tim's mother would never think of him as that way. "She even used to sneak an extra cherry in there on the side too," He remembered when he'd find some hanging around underneath the whipped cream. "Your mother definitely scored major brownie points for those sundaes," He could feel an entirely different sort of hunger wash over him as he talked about the delicious desserts. He had to change the subject soon since he'd already been about to burst.
Carter had wished that he could give his friend the world but sometimes it just was not possible, but he could go ahead and play along as he saw the look of horror in Tim's face and he'd been immediately curious as he sat up straighter in his seat as though something were wrong. When he heard the question he had to try to keep serious though he could feel the corners turning upwards as he'd wanted to grin so badly. "Hmm, think I could throw some money his way so he can ensure it doesn't rain?" As though giving someone money could have them change the weather in your favor. He had paid attention in class enough to know that there was one place around the globe, his attention span hadn't caught the name though, that actually sends chemicals or something into the clouds just so it won't rain on the day of their parades. He cursed each time he thought about that, if global warming was serious sending shit to effect the weather wasn't helping. "We can't have a fun day at the amusement park while it's raining. That is just unacceptable." He grinned now finally being able to knock off the serious act as he laughed, the way Tim had looked and sounded horrified had been perfect.
He was ecstatic when he could see the expression change in the mans face as he spoke of that night. Sure there were some bumps, like all the times that Tim had to help the drunken man out of the entangled hammock, but the final product had been entirely worth it. That one night had paved the way for the rest of the times Carter had made advanced on Tim, but then again it also was the start of the game the two were in the middle of. He sighed hating to think that he was upsetting his friend, but at the same time he couldn't keep himself from trying to push the envelope with the male each chance he got. He just wished he didn't make him so mad each time, or maybe he wished more that he didn't have to stop himself and worry about what the other was going to think. "What? No way, i'm a gladiator when i'm drinking!" He stood for a minute trying to look powerful as he stood in a gladiator sort of stance. He laughed and sat back in his seat remembering that pair of shoes though and growled quietly. "Hey those were super comfortable and the damn mud ruined them. They just weren't the same after I put them in the washer, they weren't as soft and inviting anymore." He couldn't explain it but there was something different about that shoe afterwards. He probably could have cried and was surprised that he hadn't.
Keeners, he thought about the expression and hadn't heard it before so just laughed with a nod, though when the other started to tell him the sort of things he'd have to change to be a truck driver he groaned giving a sour look. "GPS would help me out with navigating, either that or i'd have to enlist you to the job to be my eyes on the map. When he mentioned drinking Carter gasped some, "Could you imagine me quitting the juice to drive for a living?" He asked curiously before his friend stated he'd be fat too, "I'd be so hot if I were fat," He stuck his stomach out as much as he could. "I'd be a drunken sober trucker." He thought about it and laughed shaking his head. "Nope, don't think that sounds too appealing anymore, nevermind." Mostly the word sober had him put off, but maybe later in life he wouldn't need the aid of alcohol so much to get through the day. At mention of a roadtrip he grinned and nodded, "Sure you want to be in the car with me that long?" He asked with a cocked eyebrow. He would of course love the idea of a roadtrip and maybe the two could do it in the coming summer.
Carter had managed to finish what had been on his plate as he leaned back in his seat resting his hand against his stomach as he was full beyond belief. That meal had been worth it as he would have to send a tip down to the kitchen for making it so delicious. "Are you just making up excuses to not stay up with me?" He asked with a smirk appearing across his face. "Don't feel obligated or anything, beds right there whenever you want it." He of course could joke about it longer but instead decided to play the nice guy. "Breakfast is a must though, i'm thinking french toast and bacon." He wished that could have sounded more appetizing but with him being full he couldn't even muster fake satisfaction. He just smirked as he stood from the table and stretched some as he looked down at him, "Well where do you go when you're dirty and need to get cleaned up?" He asked continuing with the joke. " Tim grinned. Then, he scrunched his eyebrows together, a sudden realization donning. " Unless it involved sneaking out to find you..." His jaw dropped in amazement, and he looked over at Carter. " My mom!" he exclaimed, too shocked to say much else. That woman had probably known, all those years, exactly what Tim was up to. " Yeah, charity case," Tim nodded, looking conspicuously around the luxurious suite. Then, he smiled. He knew what Carter meant; his friend hadn't exactly had the best home life, and Tim's mom saw to it that he would at least feel special and accepted somewhere. " What?!" Tim scoffed. He had never heard anything about the extra cherry. That was the other thing - the cherries. He couldn't get enough of them. " Exactly. I'm glad you see things my way," Tim agreed, before breaking his own facade. He grinned, slipping the last french fry into his mouth and savouring it for all it was worth. Then, he looked down at his empty plate. There were a few burger crumbs on it, as well as a bit of left-over ketchup. He was suprised that he'd managed to eat the whole thing, really - he must've been hungrier than he'd thought. " That was good," he sighed. He was only upset about the fact that it was gone. He rolled his eyes at Carter's comment about being a gladiator. Oh, sure. But still, the whole act made him laugh. He raised his eyebrows as the other man recalled those shoes, shaking his head slightly. " Oh, I know. You didn't shut up about the whole thing for weeks." In the time following that incident, Timothy he learned everything he'd ever needed to know about that particular pair of shoes, and just how wonderfully irreplaceable they'd been. Tim nodded as Carter continued. He hadn't really considered using a GPS before, but he supposed it would work. He gave his friend an odd look at the idea of being used as a map. " Oh, yeah, totally. I'd love to be a navigator, really," he told him sarcastically. In reality, of course, Tim wouldn't mind spending all of his time with Carter. He pretended to consider the idea of Carter quitting drinking to be a truckdriver, then grinned knowingly. " Nope, can't imagine it. You'd probably be one grumpy-ass truck driver, though," he speculated. Especially if he happened to drive past a busy pub. He quirked an eyebrow when the other man said he would be a hot fat man. Eh, Tim would probably like him just the same, so he really couldn't argue. " Of course," he replied, laughing. " That's what I thought," he added, when Carter decided that he didn't want to be a truckdriver, after all. He considered the idea of being stuck in a car with the other man for a large amount of time, and could see nothing undesirable about it. All the same, " well, you know, we can always stop at a gas station and let me walk around a bit, when I get tired of you," he pointed out, shrugging. " No, no, not at all," Tim waved off Carter's accusation, trying to act insincere. He wouldn't mind staying up all night, if it meant they'd be able to just forget about their fight and move on. Besides, there was probably a lot to do here. They'd spent more time doing less, after all. That was just how their friendship worked. He glanced over in the direction of the bed, not having paid attention to it before. Then, he looked back at Carter, his eyes wide. " It's huge!" he exclaimed. He'd never seen a bed that big before. It probably wouldn't fit into three of his bedrooms back home, it was that massive. " It's King-sized! No, even king-sized isn't that bit.. God-sized!" he proclaimed, still unable to believe that such a thing would exist. Well, maybe it wasn't that large, but still.. If possible, Tim became even more excited at the prospect of french toast and bacon. Two of his favourite breakfast foods. " I'm in," he nodded without a moment's hesitation. He gave Carter a suspicious look as he asked the question, preparing to stand as well. " The shower..?" he answered, suddenly realizing that he hadn't seen the washroom yet. If the bedroom looked like that, then... he drew himself up, looking eagerly around the suite. [/ul]

Carter had a hard time not laughing when Timothy would go on about all the things his mother wouldn't let him get away with, but his laughter stopped when he mentioned sneaking out to meet up with him. Carter of course found that the funniest of all, her son couldn't get away with taking just a tad more whipped cream and yet he could manage to get out of his house to hunt his friend down when he'd been too drunk, or of course those times when he had been sober and just wanted to spend a night with his friend. Those nights were the easiest though since Carter could just spend the night at Tim's house and there would be no sneaking involved, but sometimes it'd been fun just getting him to sneak out so they had that sorta of 'breaking the rules' feel to the night. He just smirked knowing that his mother hadn't thought of Carter that way though 'charity case' seemed the best way to describe how he'd felt sometimes, but his mother had a great way of making him feel like another part of the family. When he had made the comment about the cherry he had thought that his friend had known that, but by his expression he had a feeling this was news to him. "I thought you knew!" He laughed feeling bad now since he'd known how much Timothy had loved those cherries. They were really good though, even Carter couldn't get enough of them.
Carter tried to get his stomach to settle as he nodded towards Tim, "They'll have a tip in their jar come the morning," He was sure that at a place like this they did not rely on tip jars or anything, but still he was sure that Tim got what he was gesturing about. He of course did not flaunt his money all of the time but during nights like this he felt he needed to in order to convey his thoughts and apologies. He wanted to make sure that everything had been perfect and if that meant he had to spend more money to do so then so be it. "You ruin your favorite pair of shoes and see how much you talk about them afterwards!" He gasped once more and looked under the table to see if his friend had been in fact wearing those shoes that he knew the man had loved so much. He just laughed as he picked his head back up from under the table and recalled the many random facts that he would go on about those shoes. Like how he had worn them to his very first concert, it was sad how much he had remembered the outfit he'd worn to watch his first show and yet he couldn't remember the band. They were unknowns at the time though, it wasn't a huge production of a concert, but still it was the first live show he'd gotten to watch. Hell, a year and a half later they had been the same shoes he'd worn the first time he played his music infront of people. The thoughts had him grinning as he knew he had to come back down to this conversation and forget about those shoes, "Now that you reminded me about them you're never going to hear the end of it." He teased giving his friend a wink.
When he talked about needing him to navigate Carter could not believe that the man had actually liked the idea, but then he'd heard that hint of sarcasm and just chuckled. He could not see Tim sitting in a truck and driving most of his adult life, he seemed to be someone that'd rather get out and explore free to roam where he'd want to, so in the end Carter knew that truck driving probably wasn't the best idea for him. It was just an easy career choice considering he was pretty sure you didn't need a degree to drive a truck, and for the CDL course he had known it wasn't too hard. Just costly, but that was no problem considering money wasn't an object for him. "I'd be a bitch on the road," He knew he had just called himself a bitch but that was all part of the joke. If he couldn't drink to take the stress of the long journey off he'd have a fit, and that is when he'd rage behind the wheel and probably end up doing something stupid. "I'd be an accident waiting to happen, on second thought maybe you shouldn't be my navigator." He of course would not want to put his friend in danger and knew a sober pissed off Carter was never fun. At least in a tractor trailer truck though it was easy to just run people over. He could rule the road, the idea bringing a grin to his lips though it was short lived for sure. That last little bit had Carter laughing one more time nodding, "It's the least I could do right?"
Carter hadn't given his friend the grand tour of the room yet so when Tim had looked and saw the bed he just laughed watching him closely. His entire face lit up as he exclaimed about the bed as Carter reached for a napkin to wipe his face. He stood up once more and stretched again, if he didn't start moving soon he'd fall asleep with the amount of food that'd been in his stomach, so he walked around to the other side of the table and leant over to take hold of the mans hand pulling him so he'd been standing up. "If you think it looks good go see how it feels," He loved the bed as it'd been so soft and comfortable. "I suggest not getting too comfortable though or you'll end up falling asleep and I might just have to take advantage of you," He of course was joking around though smirked as he walked to the bed and sat on the corner of it patting the spot beside him. He just nodded as he leaned back letting his head fall against the bed as he took a deep breathe relaxing for just a minute. The man had it right, it had been near the shower but not quite. "You're fairly warm," He brought that up like they were playing the childish game 'hot or cold'. He just smirked peaking an eye open to look at his friend, even if he wasn't right up against him he knew he'd have fun with him tonight. [/blockquote]

" Tim shook his head incredulously, still unable to believe how sneaky his own mother had been. He decided that he still loved her, though. He'd just make her buy him a nice big jar of maraschino cherries the next time he went home. He grinned at Carter's indignant outburst about the shoes, thinking about it for a moment. Well, he probably wouldn't be particularily happy to ruin his favourite pair of shoes. Especially if they were as comfortable as Carter claimed his had been. Plus, after a certain amount of time, there would be memories attached to those shoes, too, and then where would you be? How many times had he heard his friend start a sentence with "these are the shoes I was wearing when..." " It must have been painful for you, to lose them," he agreed, sounding quite like a therapist. He gave the other man a pitying look, as if he truly understood his pain. Quickly enough, though, his expression became regretful, and he leaned back. " Dammit," he complained good-naturedly. Tim laughed when Carter claimed he'd be a bitch on the road, deciding that there really was no way to respond to that. It was true, though. He could clearly see his friend as a surly trucker, exchanging trucking stories with all the other truckers at the trucker stops. The thought made him smirk. He could also imagine the mood which would result from long periods of being unable to drink. He hoped that, as Carter got older, he'd learn to rely less on alcohol. Actually, he was already getting better, it seemed - he didn't always drink as heavily as he used to, and he seemed to be making some sort of effort. " Yeah, how about we find a more suitable career for you?" Tim said reflectively. He was pretty sure that Carter would be able to make it as a musician, if he really tried. If not, there were loads of back-up plans. He grinned at Carter's words. He'd probably never get frustrated enough at his friend to actually demand a gas station stop. Though, he could always use it as an excuse to get chips and stuff. " Well, you know. You would kind of owe me; you may be a bitch on the road, but I've got mean mapping skills," he claimed, eyes sparkling in amusement. The two of them on a roadtrip would be both hilarious, and a little bit sad. Sad because they'd spend more on food than on gas, for one. At least, Tim would - he loved his food. Graciously, Tim allowed Carter to take his hand. He wasn't quite so adverse to the other's touch, now that things seemed to be sliding swiftly back to normality. Besides, he was too busy trying to wrap his head around the size of the bed to really take notice of the contact. " Well, since you asked.." he said, before sliding off his shoes and making a run for the expansive mattress. He landed in a heap of arms and legs, laughing to himself. It really was quite comfortable. " Do you think they'll notice if we start jumping on it?" he asked, moving to a cross-legged position and bouncing slightly. For the 'more mature' of the two, Tim could be quite a child. He stuck his tongue out at his friend's threat, moving to sit beside him. Then he, too, fell back against the bed, staring up at the ceiling with a goofy grin on his face. Of course, the expression became more serious when he had to think about the washroom again. " Um, the laund - no," he chuckled, remembering their previous conversation about washing Carter in his delicates. " Oh, oh!" Tim's eyes lit up as he suddenly realized, " the bath?" [/ul]

Carter grinned as he imagined his mother sneaking around to put that extra cherry in there, "Maybe she thought I was hot or something and that had been her way of flirting." He smirked of course teasing Timothy about his mother. "Nah, she was just that awesome second mother figure is all," He had called her his mother all the time and she never seemed to mind. Sure he knew they hadn't been blood relatives but that didn't stop him from dreaming it that way, but then that would complicate his feelings towards Tim so that'd just make too much of a mess of everything. He groaned as he had seriously been thinking too much about this. He grinned letting out a surprisingly manly giggle when his friend sounded rather professional in his next little statement, "I was damn near devestated. I just couldn't see how I would get over losing them," He tried to play along but then couldn't as his face went from the half serious expression he'd had to nothing more than a broad grin. "I was just playing, i'm over those shoes now and onto bigger and better things."
The entire thing about a truck driver had been nothing more than a failed attempt at a dream. He just needed to find something that was simple that an ape could do, and from there he knew he could at least make some sort of life out of something as simple as driving down miles of interstate and back roads. "Could you imagine the first time I get my truck stuck on some damn backwoods road? I'm too pretty the damn hillbillies would bring me back to their house and rape me or something. You know those sort of movies i'm talking about, those damn imbred people that you can't tell their ass from their elbows," He shuttered at the thought though started to chuckle. He had always wondered if there were people that had actually looked like that out there, or were they only really that bad for the cinemas, but then again he had never hoped to run into one or he'd have quite a problem. He'd freak out and would probably say something that he shouldn't and he'd end up hanging from a hook in their garage being kept for dinner. "I watch too many damn movies," He finally stated shaking his head. "Yes, let's just find something better." He shook his head trying to get the thought of the imbred hillbillies.
Though the thought of going on a roadtrip with him had been amazing, and the joke about having 'mad mapping skills' had him holding back a fit of laughter. "Could you imagine the two of us on the open road for days at a time though?" He shook his head trying hard not to laugh. "You would get so sick of me, even a damn gas station wouldn't help. We should bring a tent though and just pull over on the side of the road and pitch it when we're tired. Isn't that against the law or something?" It had to be because why would people pay to go to campgrounds when they could just pitch a tent on the side of the road? He thought about the trip and just grinned as he looked over at his friend, "We should so do this huge roadtrip after graduation, just you and I with nobody else for however long we want to take." He knew that out of the two of them Timothy would be the only one that'd even want to go to college, but he could accept that and would probably go with him to rent an apartment just so he could be close.
Carter watched his shoes come off and knew what was going to happen next, and as he watched his friend leap into the sheets he just laughed slipping his own shoes off as he pushed himself up on the bed and relaxed with his own arms sprawled out. "You're right though, we're not even touching right now and we're all sprawled out. I bet we could even put a pillow wall between us if you know you wanted that tonight," He was being serious as he looked at the other. He wanted him to be comfortable and would do whatever it took. When he talked about jumping on it Carter got an almost wild look in his eye, "Should we care? Jumping is probably some of the more mild things that have happened on this bed." He jumped out of the bed and stood up looking down at it. He had an almost disguisted look on his face though only for a moment as he jumped back in the bed laughing as his body bounced a few times. "A bath? Like with bubbles and a rubber ducky? You're almost there, getting a bit warmer. Why don't you just go in there and check things out?" He asked motioning towards the bathroom where the doors had been shut. He could hear the small hum from the hottub but figured Tim had just thought it to be a normal usual hotel noise. [/blockquote]
