be right, he was still fairly sure that, where Carter was concerned, he wouldn't be slipping up any time soon. At least not in terms of separating the good ideas from the bad ones. Tim had always had a knack for that sort of thing, he found - probably something he'd picked up from his own mother who, of course, knew everything. " One day. And I mean one," he laughed, shaking his head as if amused by the impossibility of it all, "maybe. I'll try to be wrong for your birthday, or something, alright?" Now, that would be a good present. Much better than any of that store-bought crap; Tim had always had a bit of a wierd relationship with the whole gift-giving process. In his opinion, spending time with a person ought to be enough. Or, in this case, letting them be right ought to be enough. It never hurt to bake a cake, either.
Realizing that his thoughts had taken a somewhat unrelated turn, Tim abandoned them, focusing instead on the prospect of ice cream. "Oh, yeah. I think I'd be able to fit some ice cream around that massive burger," he smiled widely, becoming excited. In all honesty, the only barrier between Tim and obesity was his convenient athleticism - he could consume disgusting amounts of food without so much as batting an eyelash. Though, he had to wince at the thought of having his arm bitten off. "On second thought, maybe I won't risk taking the dalmation.." he decided slowly. It would only cause problems in the long run, anyway. Dogs required an awful lot of maintenance, and it would suck to have to pause his and Carter's sunset escape to take it for a walk. Plus, for all they knew, its collar might have some sort of homing device installed in it. And, on that note, Tim couldn't help but agree with the rabbit idea. "Oh, yeah! One of those spotty white ones. Well.. maybe just a bunny, since they're smaller and less threatening. That way, we'll throw everyone off guard. They'll think, 'oh, it's just a harmless bunny,' but the minute we get ourselves into a hairy situation, it'll reveal its mad laser vision or something," he said excitedly, having no idea what evil pets were supposed to do besides offer a bit of comic relief. If he had anything to say about it, their rabbit would be nowhere near that lame.
Tim gave Carter a wide, easy grin as the other man gave in, quickly replacing his pleading expression with one of victory. Oh, if only Carter could promise him the things he really wanted.. but there was no need to think about that right now. Not when they were so close to some sort of familliar normalcy. As usual, he rolled his eyes at the mention of handcuffs. "Is your mind ever not in the gutter?" he asked dryly, taking note of his friends' less-than-innocent smile. Of course, Tim was no better at keeping his thoughts clean; he was just extremely talented at not making them known. Though he still blamed Carter for corrupting him in the first place, of course. And, as their eyes met, Tim figured that wasn't the only thing he could blame Carter for. Simply a small kiss like the one they'd just shared could make him weak in the knees, and he had to lower his gaze in order to avoid going completely crazy. Still struggling to remain nonchalant, he shook his head, sighing. "Nah, I knew you before you were an alcoholic. I s'pose I liked you well enough then," he pointed out, smirking at the understated expression of his feelings for his friend.
Tim raised an eyebrow, giving Carter a once-over. "Well, you know, there's a fine line between a bit of friendly encouragement and telling an outright lie... where Chuck Norris is concerned, I would've definitely crossed it," he explained gently as if trying to calm his friend down. Then, with a somewhat mischevious grin, he added, "and the only pep talk you're getting will be when I'm at your side in the hospital, telling you to live." He became quiet for a moment, thinking, then instantly brightened as his imagination kicked in. "It'll be like one of those sappy, dramatic romance movies. You'll be laying there, all hooked up, and I'll go off on some sort of long, heartfelt but incredibly boring speech about how much I need you and how much you shouldn't die. And then, just as I finish - with tears streaming down my face, of course," without really realizing it, Tim ran his hands down his face to mimic tears, "you'll wake up. And we'll have an overly sentimental reunion, plus a final scene where I wheel you out of the hospital into some sort of garden and we begin to overcome all your latest disabilities." Upon the completion of this thought, Tim drew in a deep breath, quite pleased himself for coming up with so much nonsense. Of course, this giant speel made Carter's next words all the more hilarious, and the moment Tim caught his breath he was forced into laughter.
Tim gave the cashier a slightly apologetic smile in response to Carter's behaviour, then quickly caught up with his friend as they made their way out of the store. He decided to let the other man have the final word on the whole 'winning lasertag' argument, for now - the truth would be discovered soon enough. "My thoughts exactly," he replied as Carter spoke, also imagining the carnage to be left by their evening of excitement. Though, knowing himself, he'd do his best to see that nothing got too broken. "Just leave them a good tip, or something," he suggested. Sad as it was, a bit of money always made everything go smoother. And, personally, Tim didn't want to be remembered at the hotel as 'one of those insane kids who totally trashed a major suite.' It was better to be 'one of those insane kids who sort of trashed a major suite but left an awesome sum of cash.' With a grin to go with his lame words, Tim said, "yes, you certainly spice my dice," in reply to Carter's words, promptly breaking out into a fit of uncontrollable giggles. When, finally, he was able to breath again, Tim gave his friend a happy smile, welcoming the kiss on the cheek. "Guess I am," he replied, figuring nothing more really needed to be said.
ooc hmm.. not sure how good it is, but here's to trying! xD Sorry about the loong wait![/ul]

Carter stopped doing everything that he'd been doing for one moment and covered his open mouth with one of his hands as he gasped, "Are you telling me that one day, just one day, you're actually going to be human and make a mistake?" He laughed still acting as though he couldn't believe it. Being right all of the time did not mean that Tim had been abnormal or weird though. It was nice to have a friend with a level head on their shoulders. Most of his friends were crazy and spontaneous, so having Timothy around had balanced his life out it'd seemed. It was just one of the many reasons why he'd needed Tim more than the other could imagine. "You'd do that for me? I'd be the happiest birthday boy! It'd have to be something big though, huge, that'd keep me happy and satisfied the entire year." What could he be wrong about that'd been so big though? Carter hadn't a clue but was sure Tim would think of something.
He had grinned as he looked at the other with the brightest grin on his face, "You seriously want ice cream now too?" He had no idea where the parlor had been but he was sure they could find somewhere that'd give them a cone, or even a dish had it needed one. "We're never going to get home are we?" He said that in the happiest chipper voice though, "Or by agreeing to ice cream is that just your way of avoiding the defeat?" He curved his lip smirking as he looked over at Tim. "Ice cream sounds like a plan," Carter loved the fact that the two were just making up plans as they went. It seemed to have kept things interesting, and considering he'd had officially no plans for the entire night it helped pass the time. He still had thoughts of that hottub though as he refused to let the night end before the two relaxed in it. He just nodded about the dalmation, "It'd probably be for the best." As Tim described the bunny Carter took note nodding, not expecting what was about to come, so sure enough when he'd heard the laser vision he choked on his own spit as he burst out laughing and coughing at the same time. He then thought about it some more as he tried to imagine a harmless little bunny shooting laser death rays from his eyes, "I wouldn't need the flame thrower that much then if that started to happen huh?" He asked, sounding upset.
Carter, trying to look as innocent as possible, again played it off as he'd been completely astonished that Tim could say something like that. "Are you accusing me of being a gutter mind?" He asked, unsure if that had been the right term or not. "I'd have you know that my mind is nowhere near the gutter most of the time!" He tried to keep a straight face but just couldn't as he burst out laughing once more, "That's a straight up lie isn't it?" He nodded, "I can't help it, the gutter's a fun place to be. As if you've never joined me down there!" He shook his head as though disappointed that Tim would have to comment on it, but soon he changed his expression to one of pure joy. As long as Tim hadn't been completely annoyed he'd been alright, and he seemed happy enough which had been a good sign. "HEY!" He started to laugh cupping his hand over Timmy's mouth for just a second, "You're not supposed to call me an alcoholic! You're supposed to tell me that I don't have that bad of a problem yet, and it'll all get better, and you know all that normal crap! You're not supposed to agree!" He couldn't stop giggling, it'd just been that funny to him.
Carter sighed, nodding as he admitted that he'd understood. "I guess you're right, it would have still sounded nice though." He pouted though that lasted for only a few seconds as he washed all negative thoughts and feelings from his mind. "I guess that ones as good as any right?" He asked just before bursting out into laughter once more. He then listened quite enthralled with the story as Timothy went to such great lengths to describe the scene. "You're damn right i'd walk up! I'd wake up to laugh about how girlish you were being!" He tried to tease though the thought of him laying in a hospital bed with Timothy crying beside him had him upset. He cocked an eyebrow at the mention of a garden and wheelchair though, "Is this garden perched atop some large mountain? I wouldn't want you pushing me off the edge or something, that'd sorta suck." He could see it now, Tim pushing him off a cliff as him and his wheelchair plummeted to the ground below. It'd be like one of those Wile E. Coyote moments where he'd hold up a sign exclaiming YIKES! before plummeting below. "Nurse Timmy, has a nice ring to it doesn't it?" He chirped looking over grinning broadly at the man.
He hadn't expected to hear that from Tim's mouth about just leaving a good tip, so when he did he laughed some looking at the other curiously. "Money does solve everything doesn't it?" That had been a lie, most of his issues he'd love if they'd get solved by simply throwing disposable cash around, but it was deeper than that and everyone knew money could not solve these issues. When you were working in a hotel though you probably jump at any and all tips, so he could see leaving something generous for whoever cleaned it. He'd have no problem trashing it but knew that Timmy would try to keep it as neat and orderly as possible, so Carter would try to do his part in cleaning it up. When he heard that lame line he too burst into a fit of giggles as he held onto the bag tighter while weaving through the giant crowd, "You did not just say that?" He tried to stop laughing but it just wasn't happening right now, "That has got to be the lamest line i've heard yet!" He did happen to stop laughing once Timmy said he had been lucky, "I'm glad you feel that way." He nodded with a grin as he walked close beside him along the sidewalk.
ooc // this is probably crap, HUGE HEAT WAVE around my parts (around 100 F and i have no air conditioner) so my muse likes to disappear. glad you're back around though, YAY! [/blockquote]

to make a mistake!" he grimaced, pretending to consider the act an outright impossibility. In reality, he made just as many mistakes as anyone else, and he never truly pretended otherwise. It was just that, a lot of the time, a little touch of logic was the only thing necessary to get himself out of a hairy situation. He grinned as Carter welcomed the birthday present idea, nodding enthusiastically. " Of course I would! Because you're worth it," he tried to flip his hair, putting on a L'Oreal pose before dissolving into a healthy round of giggles. Then, after a moment or two, his expression became thoughtful. " I have no idea what sort of mistake I'd need to make, though.." Huge, and beneficial to Carter. It even sounded hard. Timothy had the decency to try to appear sheepish over his desire for ice cream. He didn't want to be a bother, but.. well, they did have the whole night to their disposal. " It, uh.. couldn't hurt?" he smiled winsomely, raising an eyebrow. Then, he shook his head in agreement with Carter's statement, noting that neither of them viewed this as a problem. Of course, his friends next words illicited a scowl, and he shoved the other man lightly. " Shut up. I'm going to beat your ass, and you know it. I just want some ice cream first," he claimed gruffly, already keeping an eye out for the parlor. He was quite glad with the way the night was going - in the beginning, he'd had his doubts. But, as usual, the moment he was placed back in Carter's presence, he just couldn't stay mad or upset. It was as if the two of them were required by law to have a grand time. At Carter's shocked choking, Tim burst into laughter himself, placing a hand on his friend's back in a half-assed attempt to help with the problem. " Are you alright?" he asked breathlessly. He patted the other man's back in sympathy, sighing quietly. " Yeah, a flame thrower wouldn't be too necessary, then. But you could have one, anyway. Just in case. Besides, I'll probably only use the rabbit against James Bond - and Austin Powers - types," he figured reassuringly, adding, " you can still burn down buildings and kill loads of lower-level enemies, if you'd like." Besides, if Carter wasn't running about, burning down buildings, Tim wouldn't really need the fire engine. And he was damn well going to have that fire engine; otherwise, he'd just be a regular evil mastermind with a regular laser rabbit and, probably, a regular secret submarine or jet plane. Boring. Tim gave Carter an incredulous look, knowing full well that the whole innocence act was exactly that: an act. He'd known the man too long to be fooled by such nonsense. " It's not accusing when the verdict's already in," he said philosophically, referring to the fact that, were this matter brought before a court, the jury would definitely give his friend a 'guilty' stamp. As Carter forged on in his attempt to appear ignorant of any dirty implications, Tim simply raised a disbelieving eyebrow, inviting him to spill the beans. When, finally, the other man broke, Tim grinned knowingly, nodding in agreement to the straight-up lie comment. " Well, once in a while.." he bashfully admitted his metaphorical visits to the gutter. " You know, at christmas and for birthdays and stuff. You practically live there - I've got to visit once in a while, haven't I?" That joke, only slightly lame in Timothy standards, brought forth quite a bit of good-hearted laughter, and he had no choice but to shake his head at himself. As soon as he'd caught his breath, though, he went right back to laughing, the sound muffled by Carter's offended hand. " Sorry, sorry," he muttered, though he obviously didn't mean it. Tim pretended to be offended as Carter called his idea girlish, though he knew that, if real trouble occured, he'd still act every bit as dramatic. " Fine, then," he pouted, turning away, " I'll leave you there to die alone. How would you like that?" He gave the other man a challenging look, but his expression quickly softened into one of casual amusement. They both knew that he would never be able to do anything like that, no matter what. Even if he weren't madly in love with his best friend, he would still be his best friend. And best friends don't let best friends die alone. Usually. Tim shrugged, trying to act shifty. " Of course I wouldn't try to push you off. Though, that would be a great ending to the movie... I think if more ended like that, I'd actually enjoy watching them," he admitted, grinning. In his opinion, if you'd seen one romance film, you'd seen them all. Hollywood just didn't have the integrity to make them actually worthwhile. At Carter's next words, Tim's mind took what was most likely a solo gutter dive. Judging from the normal enough expression on his friend's face, even Carter hadn't picked up on the subtle reference to one of the most cliche pornography storylines of all time. Struggling to keep a straight face, Tim nodded, saying, " yeah, I guess it does," and tried to push all thoughts of sensual sponge baths and sexual healing from his mind. In the end, he had to cough, peering about in a topic-changing manner. " So, where's this ice cream parlor?" he asked, glancing nonchalantly back to the other man. As Carter made the observation about the powers of money, Tim nodded, thinking along similar lines. Many issues could be solved with money. And many couldn't. That was the way the world worked - there really couldn't be a single, fix-all solution. He joined in with Carter's laughter at his own lame joke, happy with how easily he could make his friend laugh. ooc nono, it was a lovely post! but that is hot. D; it's been a pretty cold summer where I am, but it's supposed to get worse in the next couple of weeks. We already have fans set up around the house xD And I'm glad to be back, of course!![/ul]

In Carter's eyes he had thought that Timothy had been perfect. He could not find a single flaw in the man, and when he went along with the crazy antics of Carter's that made him fall THAT much more in love with him. There hadn't been a minute that went by, when the two were together, that Carter's heart didn't flutter to the beat of a million butterflies with even a single gaze from Timothy. He knew that he could never admit that though, and that's what hurt the most considering he'd love to just lay all his emotions on the line for the man. Like right now, as he joked around with Carter, all the blonde could think about was how perfect he'd been. He was lost in the others eyes, but since it'd been so long that this had happened he'd been damn good at hiding it. "I'm sure you don't," He shook his head, laughing along with the other, as he'd found that laugh so infectious. "You really think so?" He asked batting his eyelashes at the other, grinning. He grinned as he watched the pose, his mind re-playing him telling him he'd been worth it, and as the other started to giggle so did Carter, but mostly to hide the entirely pleased look on his face satisfied with the compliment he'd just received. Sure it might not have been meant for the way that Carter had taken it, he could have just been saying it for the hell of it, but that didn't matter as Carter's mood had been more than happy right now. "You'll figure something out, and it'll be perfect considering you're perfect right?" He chuckled still continuing with the joke, though he'd found it to be the truth as well.
"Of course it could," He nodded when Tim said that stopping for ice cream couldn't hurt. "Our stomachs could become so full that they'd explode! That would hurt wouldn't it?" He patted his stomach and poked around, "And see, I don't have much room left in there. Do you seriously want my stomach to explode?" He of course had been joking because he knew that it wouldn't happen, but it was still hilarious to think about. Dougie caught himself bouncing sideways as Timothy shoved him, it hadn't been too big of one though of course, "YOU JUST SAID ASS!" He giggled and pointed like a little four year old as he cupped his hand over his mouth and bounced around on his toes for a second, it was always funny hearing Timothy swear. "Keep telling yourself that," He teased with a grin as he looked over at the other man, that cocky yet goofy looking grin plastered across his face.
Carter kept coughing for what seemed like forever, but in reality it had been less than a minute, and the laughter was not helping him catch his breathe enough to stop as he'd kept laughing at Tim. "I'm fine," he finally admitted when he could feel his coughing starting to slow down until it'd finally stopped all together. "You trying to kill me or something?" He joked as he cleared his throat some to get rid of the last little scratch he'd had in there. He sighed and frowned when Tim had said that the flame thrower wouldn't be necessary, "But I-" He stopped talking so he could let the other continue, "YES!" He jumped for joy some when Tim said he'd be able to have one anyway, "You're so good to me." He teased wrapping a single arm around the other to pull him into a hug. "Yeah, I think you should reserve him for the big guns. I can take care of everyone else," He had the most evil little smirk on his face right now as he wrapped his fingers together, "Burn them, BURN THEM ALL!" His voice got somewhat louder and people around them looked over, and he just burst out laughing waving at all.
"Oh don't you think you're brilliant," He rolled his eyes crossing his hands infront of his chest with a heavy sigh, "I can be innocent when I want to be though, where's the fun in that though?" He smirked looking over at the other. "Tell me i'd be half as fun as I am now if I wasn't the perverted Carter you know and love!" He challenged him, without his gutter mind he couldn't see himself as much fun at all. "You are such a liar!" He yelped though kept his voice low so only Tim could hear him, "I happen to know your mind is down there more than just holidays and special occassions!" He started to laugh loving the fact that they were having this sort of conversation in the middle of a busy city. "You are such a liar, jeeze," He shook his head laughing at the other though nodded, "Apparantly i've taken up permanent residence down there so hell yes you better come down and visit sometime," He winked over at his friend enjoying this more than he probably should. "Again with the lies!" He mouthed off when he'd heard the apologies, laughing harder than before as he'd found himself unable to stay serious around Tim.
"You wouldn't!" He noticed the pout but could not be sad or upset about it, especially considering he'd been the one that was laying on the bed dying. He laughed at the thought, "You know I can't keep a damn moment serious. I'll be standing up on the alter at my wedding and would probably crack some sick perverted joke right before my 'I do's'," He grinned, knowing him he would do something stupid like that too just to get everyone to laugh. "If I woke up i'd probably hug you or something first," He shrugged being honest to make his friend feel better, "And then I would pick on you of course, but only after I hugged the hell out of you." He grinned, it was true though and would happen had that scenario played out. He gasped some at the thought of it being a great ending, "You won't watch a horror movie but you'll watch one where someone throws another person off a cliff in a wheelchair? You are one morbid morbid man," He shook his head, that 'tsk, tskt' sound forming from his lips. "I know what you mean though, chick flicks are the worst!" He hated them with a passion, well most of them, but there were those few he'd watch over and over again. He didn't brag about that though, it was more a secret guilty pleasure.
Carter had been clueless which was sad considering he would have had a lot of fun had he caught onto that. He was so used to Timothy's mind being cleaner than his own though that it usually tried to avoid jumping into the gutter. He bit his lip somewhat confused as he looked around, "I have no idea. Damn, we should have explored sooner huh?" He asked as he could have stopped a random person walking but they all seemed in a hurry to get somewhere. "Doesn't anyone just stop and relax for a second around here?" he groaned looking over at Tim catching a glimpse of his eyes as they'd caught each others gaze. "I'm sure we'll find one soon enough on our venture home, we found the other store didn't we?" He grinned shaking the bag. "For now I guess we can just enjoy each others company right?" he grinned looking over at Tim, "That shouldn't be hard considering you have a damn awesome person with you tonight." He shrugged his shoulders some, teasing.
ooc. you are so lucky, we should change climates! haha, over here it's unpredictable, annoying too. [/blockquote]

" Tim rolled his eyes. When had Carter ever not been worth it? Even when he was forced to go chasing after his friend in the middle of the night, encountering God-knows-what sort of people in God-knows-what sort of places, he had never doubted that Carter was worth every minute of panic and confusion. Call it devotion, loyalty or simply a pathetic tendency, there was nothing Tim wouldn't do for Carter. He stuck his tongue out at the other man's compliment, shaking his head and sighing. " Well, we'll just have to see. It might end up being just 'adequate.' I'm really more of an 'adequate' person," he told his friend truthfully. As Carter came up with his obscure reasoning for just how ice cream might hurt a person, Tim had to roll his eyes for the upteenth time that evening. " Yes, it would hurt, but I don't think it'll happen. Even to you, and your fragile, fragile body," he quipped, taking the opportunity to poke his friend in the stomach. Carter's body was hardly fragile; it had survived years of underage drinking and intense rough-housing. Proof enough of a strong ability to cope with things much worse than over-eating. When the other man called him on his swear, Tim sighed, though he began laughing soon enough. " Oh no, somebody call the police! Little Timmy just said, 'ass!' Is the sky falling? Is hell freezing over?" Tim pretended to be in shock, lifting his hands as if to shield himself from these horrors. A few passers-by gave him curious looks, causing him to quickly regain his composure. He brushed his hands off on his pants, clearing his throat. " Er, yeah, yeah." He paused for a moment, then gave his friend a challenging look. " And, yes, I will tell myself that." Tim pretended to be shocked, stepping back and throwing his hands up defensively. " I would never try to kill you! I can't live without my henchman!" he exclaimed, still giggling. Even with this most ridiculous of conversations, he could feel his love for the man bubbling over, and had to resist the urge to throw his arms around him in order to make his point clear. It probably would've been completely fine, but.. Tim didn't want to be too obvious. Just in case. At Carter's sad look, he hastened to explain that the flame thrower wasn't entirely out of the picture, eager to see his friend's face brighten once more. " I know I am. You're a damn spoiled brat," Tim agreed wholeheartedly, feeling his stomach flip-flop as Carter's arm wrapped around him. Of course, at the other man's outburst, it was Tim's turn to clap a hand over Carter's mouth. He glanced around suspiciously, leaning close to mutter, " quiet. We must not reveal our most secret of plans!" Then, smoothly, he stepped back, acting as if the exchange had never taken place. " I am brilliant," Tim claimed stubbornly, grinning to himself as Carter continued to speak. Then, in retrospect, added, " yeah.. you're nothing without your dirty jokes." The sarcasm was obvious, since - no matter what - Carter was literally everything to Tim. Dirty jokes or not. He let out an audible gasp when his friend accused him of being a liar, struggling not to laugh. Maybe he was giving the man too much credit - his mind did find its way to the gutter an awful lot of the time, and Carter was not always there with him when it happened. Despite his ability to act like the 'mature' one, Tim still loved a good dirty joke as much as the next guy. All the same, to call him a liar.. that was just offensive. " I beg your pardon!" he cried in mockery of the cliche, stuck-up british grandmother. He managed a horrified face quite well, placing a hand on his chest in disbelief. " It's not lying, really! I was just.. obscuring the truth with falseties," he explained. Then, with more sincerity, added, " of course I'll visit." He stuck his tongue out as Carter saw through his meaningless apology. " I so would!" Tim claimed, though even he didn't believe himself. He nodded at Carter's description of his wedding day, knowing it was the absolute truth. His friend could only take so much seriousness before bursting into a fountain of inappropriate humour. He'd seen it happen on numerous occasions and, most of the time, was quite relieved that there was at least one other person on the planet besides himself who couldn't quite take serious things seriously. He grinned widely when the other man admitted that he would at least show some affection upon waking up. " Well, good. That's all I would need. A hug, and to know that your sense of humour didn't die. I don't think I'd be able to handle you if it did," he said. Really, Carter's humour was one of the most integral parts of his personality, and Tim couldn't even imagine the man without it. It was impossible. He shrugged at his friend's horror over his preference of movie ending. " What can I say? You'd rather kill dozens of people with a flame thrower, I'd rather kill one lousy cripple." Then, he winced, glancing around. " Nevermind, I take that back. THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH CRIPPPLES!" he shouted, despite the fact that no one had heard his initial words. It was hardly his fault; he just felt like being loud at this time of night. Tim grimaced, willing the ice cream parlour to appear on the nearest street corner. Unfortunately, it didn't work. " Yeah.. we could've spent our year finding all the go-to places in the city, but instead.. well, I don't even know what we were doing," his eyebrows scrunched together as he tried to piece together the last few months. A lot of homework, some sports for him, some partying for Carter... and other stuff in between, he supposed. Briefly, his mind flickered to the reason for Carter's planning this whole evening, though he quickly brought his thoughts back to happier things. He looked around at all the people rushing by, agreeing with the other man. " I know. Really.. people don't know how to just stop and enjoy the little things anymore. Like, ice cream. Lasertag. Getting lost in a city," he grinned, looking over at Carter with appreciation in his eyes. He'd be the first to admit that his friend always brought out the best in everything. He nodded, replying to Carter's words with, " yeah. Let's head back to the hotel. If we find the ice cream, we find it - if we don't, we don't. We've still got laser tag, light sabers and a giant hot tub, after all." Hardly something to scoff at. At the other man's suggestion, he linked arms with him, taking a breath of contentment. " That be true," he admitted, smiling happily. ooc eww, nevermind, the heat wave just set in. I can hardly breath outside D: we almost hit a record high todayy, and it's only just begun. [/ul]

Carter laughed some feeling on top of the world when Tim had said he'd been worth something. Sure the two had just been joking around, and for all he knew Timmy could have just been keeping the joke going, but still it had sounded good to hear him say it. Joke or not Carter could imagine that it'd been the truth, and for that the biggest widest grin lay plastered across his face right now. If asked about it he'd lie though, or he'd keep the joke going somehow not to admit that his thoughts were probably entirely wrong. Damnit why couldn't he just go along with the joke and not think about all of these other feelings he'd been having. He knew that in the end these random thoughts would get him into trouble, he was bound to say something he shouldn't, so for now he truly had to be careful and watch what he said around Tim. He looked at his friendly blankly for a minute as he'd started to become curious, "That means like average right or something?" He asked scratching the back of his neck. He hadn't the richest vocabulary though he usually understood most all his friend would say.
Carter pouted his lips out as he quirked his eyebrows giving Timmy quite the peculiar look, "Fragile? Have you not seen my usual diet?" He knocked on his stomach as he tried to create that hollow metal sound of a tank. His mouth just couldn't do it as he finally let himself stop because he'd looked more foolish than anything else. It was true though, some of the stuff that Carter would pile into his stomach had been insane! He couldn't help but giggle and bat Timmy's hand away when he'd went and poked him, and from there he just gave him this goofy grin. "Hey, i'm too ticklish for that sorta stuff!" He chirped laughing, of course his friend poking him in the stomach had been no big deal and he'd welcomed any touch from the other, but that strange fit of giggles that always seemed to follow could have been avoided. Carter's mouth dropped open as his friends antics started, and soon he'd been laughing right along with him. "It's the end of days!" Carter proclaimed shielding himself from the sky in a scared fashion, "We're all going to die!" He was very dramatic when he wanted to be, but it'd always been in good fun.
Carter frowned, "That's all I am to you, a henchman?" He shook his head with a sigh, "And here I thought we were more than that." He put his hands on his sides and turned his face away from the others turning his nose up into the air. "And now you're calling me spoiled? Have you not looked around?" He burst out laughing as he looked over at the other, "If anything you're the spoiled one, and you're starting to become a brat." He giggled hoping that his friend had seem the joke in all of his words, Carter would never consider him a brat at all, or anything else negative. "Look at the hotel, and the burger, the hot tub, the trip to the store, and now ice creams on the list for tonight?" He took a deep breathe as he'd just finished that list, and let it out dramatically slower than he would have regularly. Of course this had all been Carter's ideas and Tim had just been going along with him, so that was nowhere near the definition of spoiled brat. Carter, while laughing, felt his own mouth muffled this time as he stopped looking out the corner of his eyes to see his friend coming closer, and he just nodded as he stood himself up straight and smoothed out his shirt.
"I'd just be a shell," He thought about it and sighed. He knew that he'd always have his mind in the gutter, but he at least had hoped that while he aged it'd calm down a little. Once he reached adulthood he knew he'd have to mature some, not much of course, but he at least wanting to show Tim that he could grow up some to appeal more to him. Carter, at the sound of the accent, looked at the other in shock for a moment before he started to burst out laughing again. He wanted to say something but hearing the way his friend had been talking was just too funny, so instead he'd stopped laughing just long enough to open his mouth to say something, and soon he'd start laughing again unable to push even a single word from his lips. He always had a way with words though that had Carter looking at him confused as he slowly put that sentence together, and when he'd finally understood it his laughter was louder and far more audible. "You-That's-So-Not-Fair," He gasped to get the words out as he'd laughed so hard. "That's what I get for having a brilliant friend I guess," He shrugged bringing back the word they'd been using just moments ago. He loved how Timmy had been so good with his words though.
Carter could see the scene at the hospital playing out right before his eyes, "so pretty much i'd wake up from some freak coma and i'll have such a weak voice, and I shouldn't be talking at all, but i'd call for Timmy," He let his voice drop to sound weak as he'd called the mans name, "Timmy, Timmy," He called a few more times for dramatic effect. "You'd come close and my arms would be shaking as I raised them from my close to death position on the bed, and i'd wrap them around you hugging for dear life. Of course since i'd be so weak it wouldn't be that tight of a hug at all thogh, oh and my lips would be wrinkled and chapped as i'd be parched." He nodded, trying to get a better picture of him in some sickly manner. "And then i'd go on to call you a girl or something, it'd have to be simple." He chuckled, oh dear why was he laughing about something like that? Had it even happened he'd be devestated and there is no chance in hell he'd be able to crack a joke. Carter had caught the joke and started to chuckle, but soon he jumped some startled as Tim's voice raised higher to announce to the world that there'd been nothing wrong with cripples. He looked around at the people who were looking over now and he just grinned putting his arm around Timmy's shoulders and walking him faster. "You're right, there's not, but is there something wrong with you?" He asked as the people had stopped looking at them as he could giggle in peace once more. "I know what we were doing. I was drinking and you were coming to my rescue." He hated that it'd sounded that bad, like he'd been absolutely hopeless, but at least it wasn't every single night that he'd drank himself silly. His friend had to be thankful for that much at least right? "Seriously think we just stuck around campus more than we should. I should buy a car," It was a random thought but having a set of wheels would help them get off campus easier without having to use the bus. Carter grinned looking right back at Tim nodding, "Of course, it's the simpler things in life that make it worth it. Don't forget lightsabers so we can do some crazy jedi shiz," He avoided the swear by putting a spin on the end of the word as he just smirked at the other. "Ice cream, oy, don't remind me." He held onto his stomach as he'd been craving it since the two had started talking about it. He had to find a shop and if they were reaching the hotel soon he'd just have to ask a stranger. "Oh, we'll find it!" He exclaimed with a grin looking over at the other, but as he told what the two had for the night Carter just nodded. "So what i'm hearing is you're happy and having a good time right?" He asked as he happily linked arms with the other. "I did good?"ooc // holy wow that is insane for it to be that high on only the first day! hope it's cooled down some for you, and if not i hope you're at least keeping cool![/blockquote]

" he sighed, though he gave the man a smile to show that he really didn't think he was stupid for not knowing. Like he'd mentioned countless times before; Carter was smart. Just not in the book sense. He raised an eyebrow at his friend's lame attempt to make a hollow sound, unable to keep from chuckling. " Yeah, I'm actually suprised at how much crap your body takes from you," he admitted, shaking his head. Not that he was any health nut himself, but Carter's diet was really something out of a doctor's worst nightmare. Tim grinned as his hand was pushed away, joining in on the other man's infectious giggles without a second thought. It seemed they were always laughing at the strangest of times, and he wouldn't have it any other way, especially since it meant they were having a good time. Tim grimaced as Carter joined in on his little 'the world is ending' game, sinking to his knees in the middle of the sidewalk. " Noooooooo..." he cried hoarsely, raising his hands to the sky in despair before throwing a wild glance Carter's way. " Well, we've had a good run, mate. My only regret is that your ugly face is the last thing I'll see before I go," he moaned jokingly before turning back to the sky with a final cry of, " take me now, o great heavens!" Timothy didn't make a fool of himself very often, but when he did, he was sure to be brilliant at it. Tim took in a sharp breath at his friend's offense, hastening to fix his misperception (false as it was). " No, no, no. You're much more than a henchman to me. In fact, you're... well, you're a very good henchman," he grinned winsomely, hoping the other man would buy it. Honestly, Tim would make a terrible villian. He'd end up treating all his villians with almost guilty respect and - gasp! - would definitely prefer to imprison his enemies, rather than murder them. He couldn't keep the smirk off his face when Carter pointed out just how spoiled Tim himself was. He didn't think about it often, but it was true - when he wasn't busy getting into trouble or confusing Tim's emotions, Carter spoiled him rotten. " Shut up! I'm not spoiled, I'm just.. very fortunate to have such a lovely sugar daddy?" Tim beamed at his friend, giving him a tentative hug and putting on his 'oh, aren't I cute?' face. At Carter's next words, Tim put on a sympathetic expression, shaking his head. " You wouldn't be a shell," he decided generously, " you'd still be you.. just, not as fun or exciting or anything." He grinned mischeviously, quite pleased with his joke. Though, he was quite sure that Carter would every bit as amazing with or without his dirty jokes. Tim grinned to himself at his friend's reaction to the old grandmother bit, suprised as usual by his own ability to make the man laugh. Had he been more confident in believing that Carter returned his feelings, he would've seen this as something more than just a lame sense of humour. As it was, though, he didn't want to give himself false hope. He had to smirk as he watched the other man figure out his complex statement, waiting patiently for the words to make sense in his mind. Sometimes, he tended to get carried away with all the smart talk and everything - he considered it a sort of bad habit. " Yeah. Guess I am a bit brilliant for the likes of you," he agreed, raising a hand to ruffle Carter's hair affectionately. More and more, Tim had been finding excuses to get physically close to his friend, despite knowing that it would only cause him more emotional harm in the future. Tim, who had been listening intently to Carter's version of their happy hospital scene, burst into laughter at the way his friend said, ' Timmy.' Were that to actually happen, he'd probably be more freaked out than anything, though he didn't mention this to the other man. Quickly, he forced himself to regain control, eager to hear the rest of Carter's story. As it came to an end, he simply nodded, accepting it completely. " Perfect," he decided. That little scenario was a bullseye of a metaphor for their friendship. Somehow. It made sense in his mind, anyway; he refrained from confusing Carter with these thoughts. He gave his friend a sheepish grin after the 'cripples' incident, shrugging. To be perfectly honest, Tim hardly seemed perturbed at the idea of there being something wrong with him. If that was the reason he was so damn awesome, why change? " Who knows?" he replied cryptically, wiggling his eyebrows in a rather mysterious manner. " Oh, right," Tim nodded as if he hadn't even been thinking about the drinking-and-rescuing thing. Which, in fact, he had. He'd never fully admitted it to Carter, but despite all the drawbacks of that particular part of their friendship, he was still thrilled by the knowledge that, in times of need, the man always came to him. He didn't know what he'd do if Carter ever called someone else to his rescue - Tim wasn't generally the jealous type, but his feelings for his friend were strong enough to change this in a heartbeat. He raised an eyebrow at the prospect of buying a car, giving the man a puzzled look. " Do you have a license?" he asked. Owning a license was probably one of the most important steps on the road to car ownership. As their conversation continued, Tim smacked himself (lightly) on the forehead, exclaiming, " oh! I can't believe I forgot lightsabers. We'll be bad-azz jedis." He grinned, cleverly following Carter's lead with the whole swearing idea. Tim's own stomach grumbled at the thought of ice cream, and he frowned, suddenly worried that they might not actually find a place to buy any before they got back to the hotel. He glanced down bashfully at his friend's final question, nodding slowly. " Yes, you did good," he answered. He glanced over at Carter, almost feeling as if he should say more, but no words came to mind. Instead, he simply allowed himself to be escorted down the sidewalk, enjoying a moment of complete happiness. ooc well, I have my fan right beside me, so it's not all bad xD[/ul]

Carter could hear the sigh and frowned as he glanced away from his friend, but as soon as he'd looked back and noticed that smile he just grinned as he continued to look over at him. He hadn't wanted the other to think he'd been staring at him or anything, but he'd often found himself mesmerized when his friend smiled, and even moreso when he'd been so kind and considerate with his ignorance. He laughed at how stupid he'd probably sounded to someone who'd had such sharp vocabulary, but after many years together he was sure Timmy had been used to this sort of thing coming from him. He looked down at his stomach, "Him and I have came to an understanding," He patted hit smirking, "It fought me for a while but after it figured out I wasn't giving in I think it sorta just gave up." He shrugged though giggled at the thought of his stomach surrendering waving a white flag. When he'd watched his friend sink to the ground he stopped dead in his tracks as he watched his display infront of everyone, but he did not bother to look around to see if anyone else had been watching, but with antics like this could anyone seriously walk past without even a glance? "You're damn lucky you get to see my mug with your final minutes! I'm damn gorgeous!" He frowned before he kept giggling, Tim was sometimes a bit much but it'd been cute. He honestly loved with Tim let loose like this considering it didn't happen all too much, and with all the crazy shit Carter does this sort of display with nice.
Carter quirked an eyebrow as he just stared at him for a second. "You really know how to flatter someone," His voice had been shaky as he had pretended to tear up and get disappointed. He tried to keep it as serious looking as possible, but within seconds he couldn't keep that grin that'd been peaking through hidden anymore, so his entire face seemed to light right up while he looked at the other. "At least i'm something to you, even if it is just a henchman." He shrugged though it'd been the truth. Henchman were like right hand men to super villians, or any villian for that matter, so of course Carter wouldn't mind being referred to as one. He grinned as he wrapped an arm around Tim to pull him close as he pecked his cheek, "You are so spoiled," He said it once more grinning widely, "Aren't you a little young to have a sugar daddy?" He asked with a skeptical look. "BUt as long as he's as hot as I am I guess it's no big deal," He teased giving the other a wink as he let go to let him walk back to where he'd been before. He grinned at the facial expression though biting the inside of his bottom lip to keep from grinning too much. Tim could get away with just about anything with a face like that.
Carter listened to the other and afterwards just laughed, "So I won't be a shell, but in the end i'll be something that has nothing inside so i'd resemble a shell?" He smirked using the word shell once more. He could not even begin to imagine his life like that and would never want to put his friends through having to deal with him in that state. Boring, even just the thought of the word had him depressed. "You make no sense, or maybe it's me that doesn't make any sense. No, I think it'd be you, or maybe it's the both of us." He started to ramble as he pointed back and forth between them laughing the entire time, sometimes he got so lost in his own words and conversations that he'd sometimes forget what they'd even been about. He scrunched his nose up some at the mans next comments, "I'm not that dumb," He sighed dramatically though sometimes he knew it had been true that Tim could say something that'd completely confuse him, but at least his friend usually took that extra minute to explain things to him when he'd needed to. He laughed and pulled away some when he felt Tim's hand in his hair, and he took note of the other small things he'd been doing lately during their walk. He wasn't used to his friend being so touchy feely with him but he enjoyed it more than anyone could believe! He took all these small touches and playful pats as invitation to get closer himself, so of course that meant that throughout the night he could see himself getting closer to Tim. He just hoped he could stop himself before it'd gotten too far and he'd upset him again. If that happened tonight would have been for nothing, and that is not the way that Carter wanted to look at it.
Carter, who had been trying to be serious in his story, cocked his head to the side confused as he watched his friends laughter, "What's so funny?" He asked, frowning, and then he understood that it had to deal with the comical way that he had just said his name. When he got into his stories though he found it easy to play along, but of course hearing him laugh broke him from the trance he'd been into while he started to laugh as well. He did not let himself lose his train of thought entirely though as he continued right back with his story after he'd finished his little laughing fit, and hearing his friend say that it'd been perfect at the end had him grinning from ear to ear. "Of course it is, it's us we're talking about." He puffed out his chest to show his pride in the two of them, "We're damn epic aren't we?" He smirked chuckling as he'd loved using the word epic. He watched the other's eyebrows and couldn't help but burst out laughing as he shook his head putting his arm around Tim once more, "Yup, something is wrong with you, you've officially lost it my friend!" Not that it'd been a bad thing, whatever 'it' had been Carter was sure he'd personally never had it to begin with. He still could not figure out why Tim actually liked hanging out with him, but could he complain? Hell no, he loved the man!
At mention of a license Carter sighed and shrugged, "Permit count?" He asked with a grin. He had a permit that he'd gotten back home in New York during the summer, but since they'd been in New Jersey now he knew it'd been worthless. "Okay, fine, i'll go in order and get a license first." He sighed over dramatically knowing that it'd be hard to focus long enough to get his permit and then his license afterwards. "Could you imagine me legally able to drive down the road?" He smirked as he could only imagine the sort of things he'd do while on the road, "On second thought maybe it's better that I don't have a license and can't drive." That seemed the safest option, "Guess that just means i'll have to buy you a car since you're the more responsible and all that good stuff." He grinned unable to look away from his friend. His eyes widened as he watched the hand against the forehead bit as he tried not to laugh, "Well i'll be bad-azz, you'll just be-" He tried to think of a good word but failed like usual. Right about now he'd been lost in Tim's eyes as he looked over at him, so instead of finishing that he just left it as it was while adding a simple, "well you know." He knew he wasn't making much sense right now though and hoped that Tim could at least understand somewhat. He did grin as he kissed the other on the cheek, "Glad to hear," He whispered when Tim had let him know that he'd done good. That is all that he'd hoped, and as long as Tim was now happy with him that's all that mattered. Carter gave him one more peck on the cheek before he stopped him, "Stay right here alright?" He asked as him and the bag jogged off to someone standing beside the wall. He returned in a matter of minutes as he looked around, "So I asked the guy over there and he said there's one just a block or so past the hotel, care to walk a little further?" he asked as he'd been talking about ice cream parlors of course, "Or do you just want to head to the room?" He honestly didn't care, he just wanted to make him happy.
ooc. sorry this took SO long, next one will be quicker!

I'm the one staring, he grumbled to himself, wondering at the same time how Carter could have such a good physique despite all the drinking and laziness. " I feel sorry for it - or, him," Tim laughed as the other man finished his explanation. Obscurely, he felt a bit sorry for his friends' stomach. But then, Tim had always had a strange way of looking at things. Having the decency to be embarassed by his own impromptu dramatics, Tim stood quickly, a slight blush creeping up his neck. " Er, yeah. I'll probably confuse you with God or something, you're just that beautiful," he quipped, giving Carter a sly wink. For some reason, Tim realized, he was being almost overly flirtatious tonight. Usually, he tried to hold back in order to avoid difficult situations, but for some reason he just didn't care as much any more. Maybe he was tired of their 'nothing more than friends' game, maybe he was just horny. Whatever the reason, it was much easier to give in to his desires than to constantly fight them off. Besides, he was fairly sure that Carter wouldn't initiate anything too serious tonight, given the circumstances which had lead them there. So he was home free. I sound like a dick, he thought, realizing how completely selfish those thoughts were. Maybe, in a way, he was still a bit mad at Carter. Maybe he wanted to bait him, to invite - no, dare him to try something. Maybe.A bit frightened with his new insights, Tim quickly pushed the thoughts away, feeling a bit uneasy. He wasn't that sort of person at all. He was just.. glad that everything was alright with them again. He'd missed Carter - he was entitled to be a bit more touchy-feely than usual. And that was it. Fortunately, at this point, the man in question had commenced his false crying, and Tim swiftly distracted himself from what was going on in his mind. " Oh, well.. no, don't cry!" he gasped, sporting a perfectly executed look of concern and placing a comforting hand on his friend's shoulder. Of course, as Carter's grin resurfaced, so did Tim's, and he removed his hand, shaking his head. " Yeah. Not everyone can be my henchman, after all," he pointed out. He slid closer to Carter with ease as the man's arm wrapped around his shoulders, unable to keep from beaming. " You're never too young for a sugar daddy, I always say," he said, moving away slightly as the man released him but still staying fairly close. It's a crowded street, that's why, he told himself stubbornly, though most of the pedestrians seemed to have been absorbed by the city's night life. Tim furrowed his brow at Carter's next words, trying to figure out what he was talking about. " Um, I guess?" he decided finally, offering a defeated look. As his friend continued, Tim only became more confused, until he threw his arms up defensively. " I have to be honest - I have no idea what you're talking about," he laughed along with the other man, thoroughly enjoying even their most senseless of conversations. As Carter claimed to be 'not that dumb,' Tim nodded, half-shrugging. " Yeah, you're not. I've seen dumber," he chuckled, thinking of his older sister. Now, if anyone were a complete bimbo, it would be her. Of course, his laughter had only become more pronounced at the way Carter said his name, and he couldn't even bring himself to answer the other man's question. Fortunately, his friend wasn't that slow, and no explanation was necessary. Tim giggled and rolled his eyes as Carter referred to the two of them as 'perfect.' He tried not to think about the fact that, right now, things were far from such a desirable state. Despite the other man's huge apology, and Tim's forgiving him, and everything going well, the problems were still there. After all, Tim hadn't stopped being ridiculously in love with his friend, and he hadn't told him, either. Suddenly, Tim's heart sunk. What if, by calling their friendship 'perfect,' Carter had been telling Tim that he didn't want any more? That he liked things the way they were - that, despite Tim's hopes and suspicions, he really felt only friendship for him? Tim bit his lip slightly, not wanting the other man to notice his sudden change in mood. He was probably reading too much into the whole thing, anyway. They were just talking about random, meaningless stuff - nothing more. He took in a deep breath, willing himself to calm down and just enjoy the rest of the night. " Of course we're epic! We're the epic-est!" he agreed cheerfully, forcing himself to smile. He knew how much Carter loved that word, and didn't want to ruin his usage of it by being all girly and emotional. However, as Carter's arm wrapped around his neck once more, Tim's good mood came creeping back. After all, it was practically impossible for him to be upset in his friend's presence unless something really shitty had happened. " You mean I'm mad?" he asked, turning to Carter with a wide-eyed expression, " as in..." He drifted off, biting his lip and moving closer so that the other man could hear his whispered words: " crazy?" He grinned slightly, amused by the possibility. Tim sighed as Carter mentioned his permit, then nodded as he spoke of working toward an actual license. " That would make sense, wouldn't it?" he asked cheekily, still smiling. Though, his smile soon turned to a grimace as he tried to imagine Carter on the road. " The world won't know what hit it. Neither will the fence post, the mail box, the tree or the poor, innocent squirrel," he moaned as if considering all the terrible consequences of his friend having a license. He brightened at the thought of getting a car, though he knew he'd never be able to ask for - or accept - something quite so expensive. He'd have to pay for at least half of it. " That would be the safest option," he agreed, figuring they didn't have to go into detail on the subject just then. He smirked at Carter's loss for words, though the expression soon faded from his face as their eyes met. For a moment, there seemed to be an incomprehensible connection between them, though it disappeared as Carter finished his sentence. " Yeah, I know.." Tim nodded, glancing away quickly. However, he couldn't keep his eyes from flickering back to his friend's face, wondering if he'd just imagined the whole thing. Tim could only nod at the other man's next words, still feeling the warmth of his breath on his cheek. Now you're just being creepy, he informed himself, but he could hardly control it. Carter just had that effect on him. " Right," he agreed as Carter stepped away, glad to have an opportunity to compose himself. He shook his head quickly, trying to clear it. If he didn't stop acting so abnormally soon, Carter would definitely know that something was up. And then... well, Tim wasn't sure he was ready for that particular explanation, to be perfectly honest. ' Oh, it's nothing. I've just been totally in love with you since the first time you kissed me. Or maybe even before then. You know, totally normal and not weird at all.' That would definitely go well. Tim jumped slightly as Carter returned - he'd gotten completely lost in his own thoughts. Hopefully he hadn't accidentally said anything out loud, though the expression on Carter's face didn't indicate that he had. " I don't mind at all!" he informed him cheerfully. Fortunately, he was still able to feel a petty joy at the prospect of finally getting that ice cream. ooc 'Tis fiine <3 Sorry mine's so monstrous.. I guess I had a lot of pent-up muse? xD[/ul]

Carter would be the first to admit that he had abused his body many times in the past. He had always had a bit too much to drink and he'd always stuffed himself way beyond his breaking point. He never really understood his limits given the past he'd had with no boundaries and limitations. He did understand that if he ate enough he could get a stomach ache, but just because his stomach had started to cramp he'd sometimes just ignore the cries and continue doing what he'd been doing. "You'd be the only one that's sorry for anothers stomach," He chuckled loving how Tim had always been that innocent and good natured. How had he been so lucky to have found someone that looked at the world in a way that he had?
Carter noticed the blush and couldn't help but smile as he'd found that shade of red on Timmy's cheeks to be rather adorable, and hearing him talk about how he could get confused with god had Carter hiding his laughter as much as he could. "Comparing me to god?" He shook his head though could not contain his laughter anymore as he let it slowly creep up from the pit of his stomach. "Don't you think that's a bit too much?" He said through chuckles as he caught the wink that Tim had given him. What had been happening? Had there been some secret ingredient in the burger that'd caused Timmy to loosen up significantly? He couldn't bring it up though because knowing Tim he'd clamp up and that was the last thing that Carter had wanted. It was hard to keep himself in a calm friend only manner when he'd been getting sent all these signals, but he still hadn't even been sure what to think of them all so he decided it'd be best to ignore. Ignore until he could at least read and understand them better.
Carter had to distract himself and the best way to do that had to be overplay everything that was going on right now, so when he'd started to pout he'd found that it'd cleared his mind from all the flirty advances his friend had been sending his way. He heard his friend gasp some and just grinned, "But-but-" He pretended to sniffle as he wiped his eyes, "Fine, I guess I can stop because you've asked nicely." Okay so he hadn't really asked Carter to stop, but did that matter considering he hadn't been crying in the first place? Why would he asked him to stop doing something he'd never started? Carter had been confusing himself, "It takes a special kind of person huh? And I swear if you mention special in the head i'm going to quit and you're going to be on your own!" He said sternly though it'd been nothing more than a joke. "So as long as the mans got money it's alright? You gold diggers," He shook his head faking disappointment though he knew it to not be true. When he released his arm from around him he grinned when he'd noticed Tim stay fairly close to him, but he too took that as just a sign that it'd been a busy street.
Now Carter should have stopped talking earlier in the conversation when he'd been getting slightly confused, but instead he'd kept talking and now he was at the point where he'd been seriously confusing both of them. He just nodded and thankfully Tim had came right out and told him he hadn't a clue, so instead of continuing Carter stopped talking and tried to think of something he could say to help him figure things out. He hadn't hoped for a response like that but at least it hadn't been negative so that was a good thing. "Well that's good, it'd be a real shame if I was the dumbest person you've ever met." He made a frown as he thought about it trying to conceal laughter. He knew he wasn't a rocket scientist but he also knew he had quite a long fall to become one of the dumber people in life. It's not that he couldn't learn either, more that he just didn't want to spend all of his time learning something when he could be outside exploring, but then again hadn't exploring been a form of education? He groaned as this had all been too confusing for him.
Carter had been so caught up in the conversation and his own little world that he hadn't noticed the mood change that much. He had seen a slight drop in shoulder height as he began to sulk some, but he soon regained composure and smiled at a confused Carter. He wondered if he should comment on the brief posture change but figured his shoulders had just gotten tired or something if that could even happen. A grin lay plastered across his face as he heard Tim pretty much agree with his statement, "Hells to the yes!" He tried to sound gangsta and cool but he had failed miserably as his nose scrunched up some at how lame he had just sounded. "Remind me to never do that again, or maybe just smack me around a little." He shook his head, that was rather messed up to try to sound like that. He laughed as he watched Tim carefully as he reached closer and closer until Carter could hear him whisper, his heart starting to leap around in his chest as they had been so close, "Yeah, I think that's what i'm saying." To be honest he couldn't even remember right now though with Tim so close to him.
"Since when am I about making sense?" He asked with a cheesy grin as he straight up told the truth. He had never made sense, or at least in his case rarely made sense, but that had been part of the fun of calling him a friend had been. You never knew what he would do and although irrational sometimes he'd had good meaning for doing some of the stuff he'd done in the past. When he started to list off things that Carter would no doubt hit his jaw dropped open some as he put his hands on both sides, "Come on, you seriously think i'm going to be that bad?" He asked shaking his head, "You have absolutely no faith in me do you?" She sighed dramatically as they rounded another corner towards the hotel. "Eh, but then you'd get a car and would leave me in the dust and i'd be stuck riding around on one of those motorized scooters or something," He grumbled, that would suck if Tim was off cruising while Carter was chugging along on something that barely went two miles per hour.
Carter still could not understand what had been happening to Timmy tonight, but he could see that the other had been more eager to get close to him and even touch somewhat. He liked that idea as he'd taken no time getting back to him after finding the directions to the ice cream parlor. "I didn't think you would," he grinned linking arms with the other and pulling him in the direction of both the hotel and the parlor. They did not have to step slow and look around anymore as they had known exactly where they needed to be. He saw the hotel come into view and grinned picking up his pace as he let his arm slip out from Tim's to get ahead of him. He jumped up the steps and handed the bag to the doorman before bounding back down the steps as the man handed the bag to someone inside. "I didn't need to lug that thing with us. They'll bring it up and put it in the room," He loved how their guest service had been amazing at this place. "So shall we get that ice cream before I kick your ass at a game of laser tag? Or we could always go try fighting giant dwarves when we get home too." He smirked bringing back a previous conversation.
ooc. haha, i guess you did have leftover muse! Hope I did good with this post and kept up, and that it wasn't super jumbled. I'm still spazzing about party girl! [/blockquote]

" Tim replied, raising an eyebrow and laughing. To be perfectly honest, he was quite proud of his overly compassionate side as it was almost never a bad thing. He burst into more giggles at his own joke of comparing Carter to god, shaking his head fervently. " Of course it's not too much! The big man's got nothing on you," he claimed recklessly, thoroughly enjoying himself. Saying stuff like that was probably blasphemous.. but then, Tim wasn't particularly religious. Which, in the end, added up to only more blasphemy. But he wasn't exactly concerned about that right now - what he was concerned about was the possibility of Carter catching on to how uncharacteristically adoring Tim was being toward him. Tim wanted to stop, to put himself in check, yet at the same time he was enjoying the freedom of acting on emotion rather than logic. He grinned when Carter agreed to quit sniffling away. " A little politeness goes a long way, hey?" he pointed out smugly. If only all little kids were as willing to follow orders as his own best friend, the world might be a better place. Or, at least, quieter. Not that he didn't like children, or anything... he just recalled how his younger sister had cried for about five years straight after being born. Fortunately, she'd become much more mature and tolerable since then. I really need to stop thinking about my family, Tim decided, knowing full well that the more he did, the harder homesickness would hit. And that couldn't happen; especially not tonight, when his own happiness was in the spotlight. He smirked when Carter ordered him to refrain from saying 'special in the head,' as that was exactly what Tim had been thinking. " Specialinthehead!" he cried, then latched onto Carter's arm in an almost possessive manner, " oops, I said it. Don't leave me!" As if he would ever let the man go. Tim only shook his head, finding it both sad and funny that his friend would claim such a small victory. " You still might be the second dumbest," he revealed, grinning in a troublesome manner. Really, though, you couldn't compare the brains of Carter to anyone. He was just too.. unique. Yes, that was the word; unique. " You're unique," he voiced his thought aloud, nodding in agreement with himself. The observation fit the man like a glove, after all. " And yes, it's a good thing," he added, figuring Carter would want to know what to make of this new development. Tim gave him a warm smile just to prove that he was appreciated, though his expression became quizzical at the other's groan. Well, he'd probably gone and gotten himself confused again or something. Tim's eyes widened at Carter's exclamation, slightly surprised by the extreme lameness of his comment. He laughed as he saw this realization dawn on the other man's face, shaking his head in a 'what-can-you-do' manner. Then, following his friend's orders, he put on a stern expression, frowning deeply. " Never do that again!" he ordered, wagging his finger in order to enunciate each word fully. For added measure, he'd tried to make his voice deeper, though he ended up sounding more like the incredible hulk than a disapproving authority figure. Of course, neither the hulk nor a disapproving authority figure would have broken out into an amused smile as Tim did once his part was finished. As he leaned over to whisper in Carter's ear, Tim felt that their close proximity was an almost tangible thing, and it would be a lie to say that his heart wasn't beating just as fast as the other man's. He even paused after speaking, not quite willing to pull away. But things like that could get awkward quick, so in the end he forced himself, acting as if the whole thing had been entirely normal. " Oh, okay. Cool," he replied, casually shoving his hands into his pockets. Tim thought on Carter's question, though he really didn't need to; he already knew the answer. " Since never?" he asked. If the questions on jeopardy were that easy, he'd be a millionaire by now. Though, in a weird sort of way, most of the man's senseless ideas did make sense. It just took a long time to figure that out. Fortunately, Tim had had most of his life to do exactly that, and was finding that his friend was steadily becoming easier to understand. Of course, there were still certain things Tim didn't get, like why he was always all hot-and-cold-like, but for the most part.. Tim grinned sheepishly after displaying a less-than-confident attitude toward Carter's driving skills. To tell the truth, there was no way he'd be that bad. He was more likely to get in trouble for speeding than running into things, though the two tended to go hand in hand more often than not. " Oh, I have faith in you, just not in everything else's ability to get out of your way in time," he told him, cleverly masking what had been an obvious insult. Tim furrowed his brow in confusion at Carter's prediction for life if he were to get a car. After listening to the entire little speech, he raised his eyebrows, looking over at his friend. " You know most cars come with multiple seats, right?" he pointed out. He figured Carter hadn't been considering that aspect of travel, but he couldn't resist saying it. Still, he had to make up for ridiculing the other man somehow, so with a sweet smile he added, " I'll let you ride shotgun." Images of them rolling off down the highway in some sort of classy, mid-life crisis convertible popped into his head, and he grinned. That would be the day. " You know me well," he responded to Carter's claim that he knew Timothy wouldn't mind ice cream, quite happy to link arms and continue on their way. Tim rolled his eyes as Carter sped ahead. Of course, this was all in sarcastic fun; Tim could do nothing but love the slightly childish side of his friend. He had to admit, though, he was quite impressed with the idea that the hotel staff would just put things away for the guests. " Ah, life of the rich," he sighed as the other man returned, gazing up at the Hilton in all its glory. He truly felt out of place in the world of money and extreme guest services.. of course, as soon as he came up with the word 'extreme,' he was thinking of a game show in which people competed in daredevil guest services stunts. Try pitching that to NBC, he told himself, mouth twisting with humour. " Yes! Ice cream!" He cried, doing a leap of joy. Then, with sudden seriousness, continued: " like I've been telling you all night - I'm the one who's going to be doing the ass kicking." He took a few steps, appearing to be deep in thought, then looked over at Carter once more. " Giant dwarves are not out of the picture, either," he told him almost stubbornly. ooc it was a lovely post! =D My ears got mad at me for playing Party Girl so much. Yeah, that's possible. Carter thought about it for a minute and shook his head, "I can't see anything wrong with it. If anything it's sort of cute," He winked being playful himself as he continued on his walk with Tim by his side. Even just the simplest of things, a walk down a busy street with a trip to the toystore somewhere in there, were all that Carter needed to be happy as long as Tim had been by his side. He knew that'd sounded lame but he just couldn't help himself around the other. "Are you even allowed to say something like that?" Carter asked in shock. He hadn't been too religious himself though, just the thought of having to sit in church for hours each week made him feel awkward and uncomfortable, so in the end he didn't mind what Tim had been saying.
Carter nodded in an agreeing manner, "Yeah but it never goes all the way." He shook his head with a proud smirk though as he glanced at him for only a moment before looking all around at the crowds of people on the streets. "It gets you so far and then you have to actually use some imagination for the rest of it, but imagination seems to be something you have quite the abundance of." He could not help but let a giggle escape as he'd purposely had used those words to try to make himself sound more mature. He had known it probably just sounded stupid and Tim would laugh, but it was worth the shot and it's not like it hurt anything so why not? "HEY!" Carter expressed not expecting the man to be latched on so tightly to his arm as he looked down at the mess becoming somewhat of a growth from his body. He grinned, "Takes one to know one," He chuckled bumping his hip against Tim knowing that the comment had sent him back to second grade or so, but it just seemed fitting in his opinion. "Like i'd leave you, I find it more torturing if I stick around. You'll never get rid of me!" He burst out laughing in a rather disturbing fashion as he cocked an eyebrow glancing over at his friend, "Scary thought huh?"
Carter had been so happy having claimed that special 'not the dumbest person in the world' victory, but sure enough Timmy had to stomp on his cloud nine spirits by admitting that he could be the second. "You just had to say that didn't you? You couldn't just let me be happy for a second could you? Why are you always doing this to me?" He sighed shaking his head, but on his lips a small smirk was trying to peak through to show Tim there'd been no hard feelings. "Unique?" He thought about it for a moment, but nothing more than a smile flashed across his face as his friend had said that it'd been a good thing. He straightened up his shoulders and puffed out his chest proudly as he looked at Timmy, "I'm damn unique!" He displayed to the people around him proudly as he'd gotten a few stares. "And nuts, crazy, insane, you know that normal nonsense." He shrugged glancing back at the crowd and glaring at each until they forced their eyes away. He did a small dance with his fingers and giggled having just won a staring contest with a group of people.
Carter's eyes widened as he looked at Timothy a bit nervous half expecting him to rip his clothes off and turn into some green monster infront of him, but as he'd watched that smile appear on his face Carter's eyes narrowed back down to their comfort level and he just snickered. "You're rather scary, you know that?" He asked with a chuckle grinning now as he talked to the other. Damnit why was he so happy with Tim? It seemed no matter what was happening he'd always have a huge smile on his face, but he just couldn't help himself while around the sexy best friend. There's another group of words that'd upset him, best friend, because he knew that becoming more than that would be hard and probably impossible. Timmy did not think that way about him. He did not have feelings like that for the other. Carter was just being stupid and was bound to be crushed one day when his best friend introduced him to a girlfriend, or the next 'love of his life'. He just sighed as silently as he could before nodding, "Cool." He had forgotten what the conversation had been about considering his thoughts decided to take him in a different direction.
Carter chuckled as his friend pretty much agreed with his statement, but his laughter stopped as Timmy went on to tell him that he'd had faith in him and none in everything else. He shook his head as a defeated look washed across his face. "You're terrible, you know that?" He asked as a grin finally started to settle back across his face. He could not stay mad at his friend for telling the truth could he? "It's the stop signs that'll get me. Maybe I could tell the cop I was color blind and didn't see it, and that'd give me an excuse for running red lights!" He exclaimed excited to think that he'd beaten the law, but even he wasn't dumb enough to think that it could work. This was all just good clean fun in his opinion.
"I know, I know," He nodded waving his hands towards the other man, "But that doesn't mean that just because there's an extra seat you're going to pull over and pick me up does it?" He asked, pleading eyes as he batted his eyelashes a few times puffing his bottom lip out attempting the puppy dog look for a second. "Oh well aren't you just so nice," He teased when the other mentioned shotgun. "Considering it'd only be the two of us in the car I had a feeling i'd be getting shotgun." He teased, "But i'm not opposed to fighting random invisible beings for it." He chirped snickering before letting his voice roll into a significant trail of laughter. "You better not stop for hitch hikers though." He shook his head not wanting that to happen while he linked arms with the other.
When he had returned to his friend he just chuckled at the comment, "Having money does secure somewhat better treatment." He didn't like to consider himself rich though. It was nothing that he flashed around to everyone, and the only reason he'd been doing this tonight was because he'd felt the need to give his friend everything that he deserved. He knew that it was impossible and he'd have to spend a LoT more money to acheive that though, so he at least hoped that alone time away from campus could be good enough for him right now. Carter once more burst out laughing when Tim once again proclaimed victory later in the evening, "Fine, we'll just have to see then." He smirked knowing that it would be one hell of a game. "The world is our playground, Timmy, the world is our playground." He wrapped an arm around the others shoulder bringing him closer as he kissed his cheek saying that last little bit slowly emphasizing each word. They were going to have a blast no matter how tonight panned out.

" he coughed. Of course, despite his embarrassment, he could hardly keep a small smile of happiness from crossing his face. Yes, being called cute by Carter was like being labelled King Of The World - that wasn't pathetic, was it? He laughed hesitantly, shrugging at his friends' question. " I don't know. I'd ask God myself, but I don't think he's taking calls today." Okay, now Tim was just being weird. He'd been thrown off by the other man's niceties. Tim's exasperated glance in Carter's direction went unnoticed as his friend conveniently glanced away. Fortunately, this also meant that Carter didn't see Tim's amused grin at yet another dirty innuendo. Tim nodded as his friend continued, waving his hands in a rainbow-like gesture and mouthing ' imagination,' just like Spongebob did back in the days of Spongebob. At Carter's usage of 'abundance,' Tim, too, burst into a fit of giggles before replying. " Yes, an abundance of imagination will certainly have a positive effect on how far one goes," he agreed, keeping a careful eye on his friend for signs of confusion or amusement. They seemed two of the more common Carter Expressions - not that Tim was keeping track, or anything. He was just highly perceptive. He loosened his grip on Carters' arm only slightly at the other man's exclamation, grinning over at him. " Fair enough," he decided, finally releasing him and trying without success to dodge the hip bump. " Not as scary as that laugh.." he added, stepping away slightly at his friends' frightening display of evilness. Tim smirked at the other man's outrage as he smoothly rained on his parade. " Well, if you were to check the time.." he glanced at his imaginary watch, pretending to calculate, " you would see that it had, in fact, been three seconds. Also, I just like to humble you. Take you down a peg. It makes me feel better about myself." There was an obvious twinkle in his eye, as he was clearly joking. If anything, he wanted to put Carter up on an incredibly high pedestal so that the rest of the world could view his beauty. Or maybe something slightly less creepy and ancient-greek. Fortunately, Tim's label of 'unique' had quite a good effect on Carter's confidence, which only made Tim's grin widen. " You know it, I know it.. and now the rest of the world knows it!" he exclaimed, throwing his arms up in excitement. Of course, he laughed at the other man's display of victory, proud of him for besting the public eye. When Carter called him scary, it was Tim's turn to widen his eyes. He'd been called many things in his time, but 'scary' was not one of them. Could this be some sort of unknown talent? Some hidden ability? A whole new side to a boy who, until recently, had been 'good,' 'smart' and 'charming?' Probably not. If anything, Tim was the least threatening person one would ever come across.. unless you did something incredibly stupid or annoying, but that was another story entirely. At the moment, all of Carter's 'stupid and annoying' acts were accounted for and kindly forgiven, which meant that Tim had been scary on his own. " Wow. That's a new one," he replied, not trying to hide his surprise. Or his pleasure at having pulled off such an unexpected trait. In fact, he was still grinning to himself, not even noticing his friend becoming lost in thought. He only paid attention to the other when he said, " Cool," at which point Tim glanced up quickly and nodded. " Yeah," he agreed, having no idea what they were talking about. 'Terrible' was another word seldom used to describe Tim, and he was just as delighted to hear it. Only because it was in good fun, of course. And his latest insult had been quite terribly clever. As Carter continued, Tim had to laugh, rolling his eyes at the man's logic. " Well, stop signs kind of say 'stop' on them, so unless you said you were illiterate, too..." he winced, realizing he'd just given Carter the solution to the problem. Oh, well. He wouldn't really run a stop sign, would he? Tim made a silent promise to never let his friend drive alone, then smiled and nodded, acting as if he were impressed by the other man's ingenious methods of lawbreaking. Tim frowned, shrugging. " I dunno. It depends on how much you're willing to beg," he informed Carter, imagining the procedure for allowing the man into his car. In a matter-of-fact tone, he continued: " I expect you to get down on your knees, maybe a few tears.. the whole shebang. Oh, and promises of great rewards, of course. Like food." He nodded to himself, mouth turning up in a satisfied smile. " Yes, you will have to buy me food. A fair exchange, I think." He glanced over at Carter for the expected agreement, though he knew he'd give the man a ride whether or not food and begging were included. He laughed sheepishly to himself as Carter saw through the 'shotgun' offer. " Well, you know.. I might need to use the front seat for.. uh, groceries, or something," he said, trying to think up a reason for the offer to be considered generous on his part. At the other man's mention of invisible beings, Tim's eyes lit up, and he nodded vigorously. " Yes! You may fight invisible beings for the front seat!" he proclaimed enthusiastically. Then, his shoulders sagged a bit. " Now I really need to get a car." As Carter linked arms with him, Tim sighed, glancing over at him. " Well, I really wanted to give some crazy homeless guy a ride, but I guess I won't. For you," he patted his friends' arm affectionately. Tim nodded quietly at Carter's reply, not forcing the matter. He knew how his friend felt about the whole 'having money' business, and rarely brought it up. Fortunately, the whole moment didn't last very long, and they were soon back to their normal conversation - namely, who would emerge victorious from the impending battle. Personally, Tim didn't want to have to live with Carters' gloating for the next month. Everything would remind him of "that time I kicked your ass in lasertag." Tim wasn't sure he could live like that. " You're right. We will see," he nodded. All worries of breaking expensive things aside, tonight would be epic. He grinned at the reception of another kiss on the cheek, leaning in to Carter once more and staring out at a sky of endless possibility. " That's one hella big playground," he muttered quietly, quite awed.[/ul]

Carter loved watching Tim after he gave him a compliment. The man made the cutest faces when he'd been embarassed, even just slightly, and of course the blush had given it away that Carter's words had an effect on the other. "You're welcome," He grinned looking over at him as he watched his friend regain his composure, and with that he heard that hesitant laugh as the other answered his question. Not the best answer but it'd been one nonetheless so he couldn't complain. "Oh but on a normal day i'm guessing his secretary would patch you right through right?" He asked broadening his smile just slightly teasing the other, something he found came easily. "You and him close?" He figured Tim needed to get in good with the big man to start persuading to let a screw up like Carter in eventually, or at least if he could he knew that Tim would try everything in his power to put in a good word for him.
Carter knew exactly what Tim had been doing and couldn't contain his laughter as the Spongebob episode came flooding back into his memory. Carter's eyes got as wide as possible, sparkling with wonder and belief of the impossible, but as the rainbow had came to a close there were no bright colors scattered in the sky other than the flickering lights from the surrounding shops and cellphones passing. His broad grin fell from his face as he heard Timmy start to talk though, and with that his step slowed down significantly as he tried to understand what the other had just said. "One being us?" He asked but that didn't make sense, one could not be multiple, so instead he said that phrase once more in his head as it began to click and was easier to understand. "The real question is if they're going far in just their imagination, or in real life because you should know it's easy to confuse the two," He grinned as he looked over trying to overstep the last statement. "That made a whole bunch of sense didn't it?" He asked though shook his head, even he knew that it'd sounded ridiculous. "My bark, er laugh, is worse than my bite." He chuckled, that had always made him laugh.
Carter watched the antics with the fake watch and couldn't help but laugh while staying quiet to hear everything the other had been saying. "Right, humiliating me makes you feel better? That is lovely, so lovely." He sighed sulking his shoulders down some as he slowed his pace down letting his feet drag across the ground. Carter hadn't been stupid though and noticed that gorgeous twinkle in the others eye, and all he could do was smile as he watched it gleam even in the darkened sky. His eyes widened ever so slightly when his friend raised his voice and he laughed some at the event, but that wasn't for long considering he'd had his war with the public by means of staring competition. The entire thought had him laughing but he kept a straight face through it all, and that is what made his victory dance that much better.
Carter could tell that by using the word scary he'd sent Tim off on some tangent as he thought about it, and that brought the happiest most satisfied smile to his face as he just glanced over from time to time watching him, but most of the time his eyes were focused on the road infront of them. He could hear the surprise and chuckled some, "Nah, people were always just too afraid to admit that you're a scary bastard. They thought you might send your lazer vision cat after them or something." He wiggled his eyebrows bringing in an earlier conversation as he burst out laughing. He couldn't even joke about Tim being evil or scary, those two words and Tim just never would fit together the way they could when referring to other men. Carter figured he'd let the latter part of the conversation drop though as he had a feeling he hadn't been the only clueless one, Tim didn't seem to remember a whole bunch about the conversation either. Again it was humorous and had Carter on the verge of laughing, but he did not want to appear wasted or high as a kite to random people so he restrained from cracking up.
"Do they?" He asked as he thought about it and looked around for one right near them to see it. That is when he noticed one on the far corner of the street facing in their direction, a headlight shining from it as he could read that four letter word perfectly, and he smacked his hand against his forehead defeated. "Damnit!" He moaned as he then thought about what Tim had just said, "Illiterate? You honestly think that'd get me off the hook?" He shook his head, "Isn't that why they make stop signs that shape or something?" He asked curiously, honestly not having a clue. "I am good at coming up with answers on the fly though so i'm sure if I get picked up i'll figure something epic out. Don't you worry about me." He made that clear to his friend.
He cocked an eyebrow as Tim brought up how much Carter would be willing to beg, and that had him thinking about it for a second as he let his friend continue with his thoughts. "You want me on my knees?" He smirked, his mind initially going dirty though he knew that Timmy hadn't probably been thinking something like that. Why would he when the two of them hadn't really ever gotten that far? Carter wanted one day to push the envelope and see just how far he could take Tim, but at the same point he did not want to make things awkward and had a feeling that'd do just that. When Tim mentioned food Carter burst out laughing and nodded, "I will buy you all the food you could possibly eat!" He exclaimed holding his hands out to show the massive amount that he'd be willing to buy for him. "If groceries get front seat and I get back I seriously would start questioning this friendship," He teased giving his friend a wink laughing at the entire thought of it. "You want to get a car to watch me fight invisible things for dibs on front seat? You are so cruel!" He ran back what he had just said in his mind and burst out laughing, oh that just sounded hilarious. "I'd appreciate that," He commented on the homeless guy, "Don't want them smelling up the car would you?" He asked as serious as could be.
When he had his arm around Tim and heard him talk he just let a happy and content sigh escape from his lips as a bright smile lay plastered across his face. He could see a neon ice cream cone infront of them and immediately got excited dropping his arm from around Tim as he started to bounce around near Tim, "We found it! we found it!" He started to jog towards the building, "Come on!" The little boy known as Carter came back out as he jogged through swarms of people to get to the door, but this one had not been a race as he wanted to reach at the same time as Tim, so when he was getting closer to the door he stopped jogging and walked slowly trying to find his friend so the two could order something together. "You know what you want?" He asked randomly looking around having no idea where his friend had been once again. He was being damn good at losing him throughout the evening but he just hoped he'd pop back up somewhere soon. "Tim?" he asked, his voice cracking like a little kid who'd lost their mother in a busy store. [/blockquote]

" Tim nodded, wearing an expression of pure sarcasm, " me and God - we're like this." He held a hand up, twisting his middle and index fingers together to display his extreme tightness with the spirit in the sky. " He even invited me to his b-day," he continued, though he began laughing at this point. Gangster Tim and God's Best Friend Tim were just too much to handle all at once, even for someone as awesome as Tim himself. As Carter began slowing down, Tim knew almost immediately that he'd been confused again. He sighed, all but tapping his foot in wait of the other man's imminent realization. As, finally, the other man seemed to come to the correct conclusion, Tim gave him an accepting grin. " Sorry, sometimes I forget that you don't understand big words like 'one,'" he told his friend reassuringly, though he was obviously joking. He had no desire to make Carter feel stupid (incredibly easy as it would've been). Tim raised an eyebrow as Carter expanded on his point. Now he was the one having trouble figuring things out. After a moment or two, though, the sentence started to make sense and Timothy donned a realization face. " Ohh, you bring up a good point, my friend," he nodded in agreement before allowing the other to continue. Fortunately, there was no more confusion - simply an indication that Carter himself was just as unsure of whether his words had any real meaning. " Everything you say makes a 'whole bunch' of sense," he pointed out with a sly smile. At this point, Tim wasn't even pretending he didn't like it. He shook his head at his friend's next words, still smiling. Why was it that every time Carter even pretended to sulk, Tim had to fight the urge to wrap him up in a big hug? In an attempt to keep from looking like an overly sympathetic idiot, he shoved his hands into his pockets, leaning over to look his friend in the eye. His expression of false concern instantly turned to one of amusement as he saw the smile form on Carter's lips, and he raised an eyebrow, starting to laugh. " Oh, you know it's not like that," he said, nudging the other man with his shoulder. He smirked as Carter brought up the laser cat once more; he was quite pleased with that one. " Yeah. One second, I'm this nice guy, and the next.. I jump out of nowhere in my villain cape, holding up my deadly cat..." Tim's laughter became more pronounced as he imagined the ridiculous scene. He really did have a lot of good villainous ideas; he could definitely be an evil mastermind for a day. Tim suppressed another sigh at Carter's ignorance concerning stop signs. He liked to believe that his friend was smart in at least some ways, though the other man seemed to be doing all he could to disprove this small consideration. He patted him on the back consolingly. " Yeah, they do. And that shape? It's called a hexagon. There's pretty much no reason for you to miss a stop sign," he finally revealed, hoping he hadn't ruined Carter's night with that small bit of information. He raised his eyebrows as the other man claimed to be able to come up with excuses on the fly. " I have an idea!" he exclaimed suddenly, " why don't you just be legal and not have to worry?" He asked the question brightly, almost as if he actually believed that his friend might do that. Tim rolled his eyes in exasperation at the resurfacing of Carter's dirty mind, being incredibly careful to avoid letting any trace of amusement cross his face. " Yeah. Is that going to be a problem?" he asked, struggling to remain serious. He bit the inside of his cheek, wanting to keep the joke up for as long as possible before bursting into the unavoidable fit of giggles. Of course, as Carter promised all the food he could possibly eat, Tim finally let a smile slide across his face. " Really?!" he exclaimed, jumping up and down slightly. Hey, it was food - he was allowed to be excited. Cheekily, he grabbed Carter's hands and pushed them open even wider before stepping back. " That's more like it," he nodded. There could never be too much food. Tim stuck his tongue out at Carter's reaction to the groceries idea, chuckling to himself. " What? Groceries are important. Groceries are food," he pointed out innocently. He would've gone on to mention that food was integral to life itself. However, in his case, Carter was also pretty much integral to life, so that point would've been pretty much moot. " What?" he laughed at the other man's continued outrage, shrugging, " there's nothing more epic than a battle with invisible things. Especially if it's for a seat in my car. That sort of thing only happens to really important people, after all." It was now done - this invisible battle was happening. Once Tim got a car. Oh, the possibilities. He wrinkled his nose at the thought of homeless dude smell, though, realizing that Carter had a good point. " Oh, yeah. That's one scent that doesn't go easily." As Carter dropped his arm, Tim looked up to see what had caused this change. His eyes fell immediately upon the neon sign, and he would by lying if he said that he wasn't every bit as excited as his best friend at the sight. " Yes!" he cried, jogging after Carter. Of course, a mob of old ladies decided to exit a nearby building and block his path, forcing him to slow down out of courtesy. Once the crowd had cleared, Tim's friend was long gone. Tim sighed, though he could hardly blame Carter - he probably wouldn't have waited, either. Actually.. he would have. But still. He was sort of madly in love with the man. Soon enough, he caught up, offering an apologetic smile to the other man. " Sorry. Didn't want to mess with that herd of grandmothers," he explained, gesturing to the ladies who were still making their way along the street. However, his eyes were fixed on the ice cream parlour, and he stepped toward it almost disbelievingly. " We're here.." he whispered, hardly able to comprehend this wonderful fact. He turned to look at Carter, expression quite childish. " I want one of everything!" he cried.[/ul]
