" he grinned, adding, " I know you're disappointed and all." Really, though, the thought of his mother finding Carter 'hot' was the most ridiculous thing Tim had ever heard, and he had to laugh a bit. He nodded at Carter's next words, knowing that, to the whole Wright family, the man was basically an honorary member. Even Tim's older sister accepted it, and she could be a right bitch at the best of times. Not that he didn't love her, or anything. He widened his eyes as Carter spoke of the trauma connected to the loss of his shoes, pretending to pay close attention. Of course, as the other's face broke into a grin, Tim's soon followed, and he gave up on the whole therapist thing. " Glad to hear it. Besides, there will always be other shoes, right?" Tim looked at Carter in shock at the whole hillbillies thing, not quite sure what to make of it. He certainly didn't associate farm people with inbreeding or rape. Then again, he didn't watch the weird-ass movies his friend did; he couldn't stand anything too horrific. He was also known to shriek like the shrillest of girls during scary films.. another reason to avoid watching them. So, he gave his friend a sort of startled laugh, shaking his head vehemently. " I really don't know what you're talking about, actually," he admitted. He couldn't even imagine the sort of people Carter had just described. In fact, he wasn't sure he wanted to imagine them; he'd probably get nightmares. Tim had been picturing them on a road trip for the past few minutes, and couldn't find anything too wrong with it. They'd probably turn the radio way up, get tired of it, stop and buy food, make rude signs to put in the car windows, get lost on purpose.. and loads of other fun, if silly, things like that. " It would be great!" he exclaimed confidently, " and it's only against the law if you get caught. But we would always be able to put the seats back and sleep in the car. You're allowed to do that in Wal-Mart parking lots and shit. We'd figure something out." He shrugged, seriously considering the idea. As Carter expressed the same interest, his eyes lit up. " Yeah, totally. New York to California, maybe.. something big, you know? Or we could just get in the car and drive.. though we'd have to plan a bit. Wouldn't want to end up in the middle of nowhere with no food and no gas." He laughed. Unfortunately, that sounded exactly like something they would do. " Or we could go to Canada. Get some maple syrup, eh?" he grinned. He did quite like maple syrup, though. Tim gave Carter an odd look. Sure, he was - or, rather, had been - mad about the previous night, but putting a pillow between them? Come on. " We wouldn't need a pillow wall," he told him, carelessly tossing the idea into the metaphorical trash bin. In fact, if Carter would to look into those words enough, he would find Tim's subtle acceptance of his apology. Tim grinned widely when Carter jumped up, looking slightly disgusted at the mention of what else might have been done in this bed. " I hope we can trust the cleaning abilities of the hotel staff," he huffed importantly, though the smile never left his face. He joined his friend in standing on the bed, giving it a few test bounces before actually starting to jump. As Carter spoke again, though, he stopped, suddenly preoccupied with the thought of baths. " I like bubbles and rubber duckies," he admitted. All the same, he did as the other man suggested, hopping gracefully from the bed and stepping into the washroom. Where he stopped. For the upteenth time that evening, his jaw dropped open, and he stared in amazement at the site before him. He took a hesitant step toward the hot tub, then turned, looking at Carter. " Are you fucking kidding me? A hot tub? Seriously?" He laughed in amazement, stepping over to get a better look. [/ul]

Carter loved joking around with his best friend, but sometimes he had a feeling he brought the jokes a little too far, and this was just one of those times as he had been talking about having a relationship with the mans mother. The woman who practically raised Carter as well considering he'd spent far more time at their house than at his own. "Disappointed? Down right depressed more like it. I thought I stood a chance. I thought that she was the one, you know? And now I find out it's nothing but lies!" He tried to act as though he'd been heartbroken but wasn't sure just how good he was doing at it. He was a terrible liar and you could see right through him even when he was trying to be as serious as could be. That was probably because he never took life seriously so of course it was always a joke when he tried the serious aspect of things. "Of course, there will always be other shoes." He stated as a fact as he grinned at his friend. Of course he could get new pair after new pair of shoes, that was not the problem, but there would of course only be one best friend in his life whom he'd love dearly and Tim had been that one for him. He knew it and sometimes when he'd see Tim look at him a certain way he had a feeling that Tim had known it, but he was always too damn stubborn and quiet to admit it.
As Carter seemed to go off on his little tangent about hillbilly imbred backwoods folk he could see the somewhat confused and bewildered expression that lay upon his best friends face. He had remembered the few times he had actually gotten him to sit through partial horror movies, the screams loud enough to keep a vivid place in his mind, but of course he was never the asshole that made him stay around when he wasn't comfortable, so of course he was used to his friend wanting to leave before it got too gruesome. He loved that nice innocent friend he'd had and sometimes could not believe why Tim had decided to stick around him so long, and another thing that he was more thankful than anything for was the fact that he hadn't corrupted him yet even with all the shit he'd been doing over the years. "I should have known as much right? No problems," He didn't mind that his friend didn't know, if anything he just shrugged it off and continued with the conversation as though he'd never even brought that subject up.
Hearing that his friend would indeed find their voyage great had him grinning though as he listened to him. "If that's the case I should just buy us an RV or something. Could you imagine my crazy ass driving some big RV through the tight city streets of New York or something?" He shook his head, there was no chance in hell he'd be able to drive something that big anywhere really. He was a crazy ass driver, everyone knew it and he wouldn't deny, and even if he was trying to be careful he was sure he'd still hit something with the monstrous RV. "Come to think of it i'd love to just live in one of those and travel the country for the rest of my life, not that it's something logical." He shook his head knowing that the dream could never come true. Not that easily anyway since there would be obstacles, money for one would be huge since he'd known his father would stop supplying him with it soon enough. He figured he had a few good years of 'allowances' left until his father stepped away from office, and then once he could care less about his image he'd drop his son quicker than shit. "I like the idea of just going without any planning, but I guess you're the sensible one who'd know better." Even with planning he knew the two would get stuck more than anything. "Maple syrup?" He laughed and shrugged, "Why the hell not, let's not forget our passports though so we can get back into the states." He teased hating the new laws that were being passed all over about boarding hopping.
He grinned as his friend at least knew the pillow wall had been a bad idea. He had hoped that would be the case because he would hate to have anything between them while they slept, and if they were to make a wall he'd of course lay awake staring at the ceiling the entire night not feeling the warmth and comfort of having his friend right beside him. He could see a glimmer of an apology but still had his doubts, but at least he could tell that Timothy was loosening up and becoming his old self around him again. So far tonight had been nothing more than a screaming success. He laughed as Tim played along as he jumped out of the bed and finally calmed himself down after the other had spoken, "I sure as hell hope so," He could do some CSI type deal and bring out a blacklight to see if any traces of bodily fluids were on the sheets but he wouldn't even want to know, but from the looks of things he'd figured these sheets and the entire room had been cleaned beautifully. He watched as his friend stood up on the bed and even jumped a little, "I know that," He grinned as he watched his friend jump off the bed and start towards the washroom. He grinned as he stepped off the bed and followed keeping a good distance between the two. Right when he stepped into the room Carter could see his face and did nothing more than grin as he listened once more. Yes, he was sure this had went and astonished the other and he was happier than hell right now so it was all worth it. "Wouldn't you want to come up here and get out of the suit after a long day of meetings and just relax in one of these?" He had to remind his friend that it had been an executive suite though of course even he was floored by the hottub. "This is going to be for later though, at least until after we give our food time to settle. Are you happy with me?" He asked softly looking at the other hoping he had impressed since those had been his intentions.
ooc, this weekend was absolutely INSANE so sorry about not getting a post up sooner. hope this one isn't too bad, i can barely focus but felt bad for keeping you waiting for so long <3 [/blockquote]

" he commented dryly, not displaying any pity whatsoever for his friend's apparent heartbreak. Then, he shuddered. " Oh, gross, you would've been my dad!" he realized, grimacing. He didn't even want to think about the sort of things that would imply. Oh, too late. Desperately, he forced his mind onto other things, not wanting to consider the current topic any longer. He nodded as Carter confirmed his words about there being other shoes, acting as if he were glad that the man was seeing sense. " There you go," he smiled supportively. " Oh, man, it would be like in one of those action-comedy movies," Tim exclaimed, imagining the two of them careening through the streets of New York in a beat-up RV. It would, of course, have some sort of overly optimistic logo on the side; a sunshine, possibly, or some mountains. " You know, there'd be the skinny cop with the mustache who's really got it in for us, plus his dumb sidekick. And they'll be chasing with their sirens and everything. Then, we'll have no choice but to go through all the construction work toward a bridge that isn't quite complete, and we'll go flying over the edge - we'll be yelling the whole time, of course - but, miraculously, we'll land on the other side and be absolutely fine. And the cops'll either go flying down into the water, or they'll manage to stop just in time. But we'll make our escape anyway. Off toward the distant horizon, or some shit like that." Tim took a breath, realizing that he'd been talking excitedly for quite a while. Just his over-active imagination at work again, of course. " But yeah, you'd be driving, 'cause I'd never be crazy enough to go off the end of that bridge," he added, trying to complete whatever point he'd been trying to make. He thought about Carter's idea of just travelling the country in that RV. He honestly didn't mind the idea, so long as they went back home to visit every once in a while. He gave his friend a crooked grin, raising his eyebrows. " Well, if you were to save all your money starting now, we might have enough do that," he told him, though he knew it probably wasn't true. What with inflation, and everything. Not to mention the fact that Carter would never be able to keep himself from spending his money; he might be able to cut back, but.. anyway, once the novelty wore off, travelling around the country for years on end would just get boring. " Yeah. Spontaneity's a great thing, in theory, but.. well, at the end of the day, it's nice to know where the hell you are," he decided philosophically. He nodded enthusiastically at the idea of maple syrup, as well as the suggestion that they bring their passports along. " Definitely," he agreed. Tim gave the bed a suspicious look, then shrugged, deciding it would be less troubling to just think the best of the cleaning staff's abilities. It was, after all, what they were trained to do. He grinned when Carter admitted to knowing about his liking for bubbles and rubber duckies. Really, there was hardly anything his friend didn't know about him. Just.. 'that' thing. But that thing wouldn't be getting in the way tonight. He was quite sure that both of them were on the same level with the whole idea, and that he could just stop thinking about it. So, he did. Standing in front of the hot tub, he let out a long sigh, imagining how relaxing it would be to sink into its warmth after a particularily stressful day. " Yeah," he agreed with what Carter had said, " in fact, I don't think I'd even be able to wait long enough to get out of my suit. I'd just hop right in." He grinned mischeviously. It was the sort of thing he might do, though. Once. Or twice, depending on how well the first time worked out. At Carter's next question, Tim bit his lip slightly, considering. It only took a second for him to decide that, yes, he was happy with his friend, but he dragged the moment out. He looked the other man up and down, pretending to size him up, then glanced around the elegant bathroom with a critical eye. Finally, he turned his gaze back to his friend, grinning. " I guess so," he told him. Then, he opened his arms, indicating the need for a good make-up hug. ooc Hah, it's totally fine. It's important to make the most of your weekends! [/ul]

Carter just laughed, "Could you imagine what i'd look like if I was that old? Not that your mothers old or anything," he had to stop talking because he could be digging himself a hole right now. He smirked when the boy exclaimed that he'd be his dad and just laughed, "Aren't I supposed to be your sugar daddy right now anyway?" He asked remembering from the other night that small bit of information. He could bring up one of the ever popular 'whose your daddy' jokes but definitely kept that one inside, but of course that didn't stop him from giggling some at his own imagination. He could be quite the pervert from time to time and wanted to at least stay as close to humane as possible tonight for his friends sake. He just grinned as he looked over at his friend with that smile, damn he was just absolutely gorgeous when he hadn't even tried.
His laughter rose out of the pit of his stomach as the image of them in that RV were more vivid. He had to stop and pay attention though as Timothy started to set up the plot, or at least the climax of their movie it had sounded like, and when he talked about the RV jumping the bridge Carter's eyes widened as though hanging on ever word from Tim. "I always hated that mustache." He growled some as though going along with his friend. "What'll be even better is everything inside the RV wouldn't move barely an inch after all that so we'd have little cleaning up to do, and as we're driving off into the sunset we would flip the cops off while they're up there shaking their fist right?" He could see it happening in his mind now and couldn't help but giggle. Even though he was in his later teen years he still had quite the imagination which was a great thing when he was around Tim who could be so imaginative himself. "Wait, are you saying that i'd be crazy enough to risk both of our lives by driving an RV over a bridge that's out?" He thought about it for a second and nodded, "Yeah that sounds about right!"
When Timothy brought up saving all of his money Carter's eyes widened large as he looked at him. "Me save money? Ha, you're kidding right?" He looked around at the amount of money he'd blown just on this one night alone, but he still thought it had been more than worth it so he wasn't complaining, and the fact that his friend had a huge grin on his face most of the time so far had made it all the better. "I'd like to settle down somewhere someday," he stated with a bright smile hoping that when that day came he'd have Tim by his side, but he knew that he could not force him to do anything that he didn't want to do, but at least the other man kept using the 'we' word that had meant the both of them. When his friend said that next little bit he grinned knowing that he had pretty much the same feelings about running around that Carter had. At the end he'd want to settle down as well and that's all Carter needed to hear knowing Tim just had to be with him when he settled. He'd fight to keep him around as long as he could.
Watching him get up from the bed made Carter want to go right up beside him and hold his hand or something as minor but romantic, but he did keep behind him and their distance was noticed. He had to make sure that he did not upset his friend tonight though at certain times he'd find that it'd be different considering he wanted so bad to even just give his friend the faintest of touches. He longed to be up against the others body but knew he couldn't. Most people when renting hotel rooms for the night had intentions of getting wild with one another, and Carter of course had thought about how awesome anything with Tim would be tonight considering the view and everything else, but at the same time he kept those thoughts underwraps knowing that it would not happen. It couldn't happen. He wouldn't let it even though his mind was racing with the possibilities. "If you jumped right in what would you wear when you got back out? Should I have boughten some silk pajamas or something?" He grinned having realized that it was the one thing that he had forgotten. He had thought about everything else for the night except what the hell they would sleep in. Maybe that was because Carter would end up sleeping in his boxers, or at least he hoped his friend would be alright with that. If not he could try so sleep in his jean pants but it'd just be super uncomfortable.
When he watched his friend size him up he bit his bottom lip somewhat impatiently awaiting for either his approval or denial, and was thankful when the other grinned. "You guess so? That's all I get?" Well that wasn't very fair but he could understand as he just grinned too, and when his friend opened his arms he just stood there not knowing what to do for a moment looking at each hand. He wanted this though, he'd been needing to be close to the other, so without anymore hesitation he stepped up to him and wrapped his arms around him hugging him tightly not wanting to let go, but he knew he would have to eventually. He just wanted to savor this moment for as long as he could. [/blockquote]

" he told him, " and just don't let my mom hear you say that." Like most older women, Tim's mom was slightly obsessed with her age. Or, rather, the concealment of her age. He didn't quite understand why; she looked fine to him, and it wasn't as if the rest of the world were fooled. Besides, who did she have to impress besides his dad (who loved her no matter what) and her friends (who were just as old as she was)? Sometimes, he didn't understand the female race at all. He grinned at Carter's words, suddenly remembering one of their conversations from the other night. " Oh, yeah," he said sheepishly, shaking his head at himself, " better a sugar daddy than a real daddy, though. I always say." He laughed, a look of confusion crossing his face as he tried to figure out what he'd just said. " I know. And who knows what sort of stuff's gotten stuck in it over the years?" Tim questioned in disgust, playing along with the whole 'mustache' subject. Really, though, facial hair kind of freaked him out. " Right," he nodded in agreement to his friend's addition, easily imagining the whole thing, " and, once we reach that distant sunset.." he paused for dramatic effect, looking longingly out the window to the setting sun, " they'll never find us." He sighed happily. If only the world were so simple as all that. He laughed at the other man's next words, agreeing wholeheartedly. " Wouldn't have it any other way," he admitted, eyes sparkling. If Carter weren't as exciting and reckless as he was, life would be very boring, indeed. Tim knew for a fact that he would never have driven that RV over the bridge. Actually, he never would have had a reason to, because he never would have found a way to piss of a pair of comical cops. Tim shrugged, tilting his head to the side and scrutinizing Carter for a moment before replying. " Yeah, you're right. Never gonna happen," he finally decided, giving the other man a look of amusement. He nodded in agreement to his friend's next words, glancing vaguely around the room. " I know what you mean," he said, pressing his lips together before continuing, " I'd like to travel around for a while, just to see things, but I wouldn't want to do that forever." He figured he'd probably start settling down in his late twenties or early thirties. Get a house, a full-time job.. that sort of thing. It seemed utterly boring to him now, but hopefully he'd have an exciting enough few years between now and then that it would come as a sort of relief. A novelty, even. Tim laughed, now entirely giddy with the realization of the hot tub. " Oh, yeah. A lovely pair of silk pyjamas. I can't believe you didn't think of that!" he rolled his eyes, astonished at his friend's negligence. " How am I supposed to forgive you now?" He grinned, to let the other know that he was joking, and turned back to the hot tub, wanted to investigate it one more time. It really was something. This whole suite really was something. Half the time, he couldn't believe the lengths Carter went to to ensure his comfort, happiness, whatever. Of course, his friend always managed to get into trouble, or hurt him - like he had those few nights ago. It was a bit strange and messed up, but it really wasn't all Carters' fault; if Tim hadn't had these feelings in the first place, if he wasn't such a responsible, boring person, they wouldn't have these problems. He pushed away from the hot tub, turning back to the other man. Now wasn't the time to think about why they were here. As he'd been telling himself all night: he needed to enjoy this gesture, however elaborate it was. " Yeah, well," Tim shrugged, then frowned when Carter held back. " Oh, come on, you know what I mean," he tried. He really didn't want to have to search for the correct words right now. If they got into this any more, they might actually start talking about what had happened, and then Tim would likely get pissed off and embarassed again, and it would've all been for nothing. He just wanted to get over the forgiveness thing. He'd never been very good at it, to start with, and only the desire for normality between them had given him need to say anything at all. Fortunately, Carter seemed to have gotten over it. As the other man stepped forward, Tim wrapped his arms around him, feeling instand relief at being close to him again. For a moment, his world settled, and he smiled. Then, he forced himself to pull away. As much as his body protested, he didn't want to cross the zone between 'friendly hug' and 'awkward sexual tension hug.' He beamed excitedly at Carter, rolling slightly back on the balls of his feet. " Well, now that we've gotten that over with, what are we going to do?" he asked. [/ul]

The one thing that Carter had going for him had been his looks. He was not the brightest person in the world so he had to get by on his looks and personality, both were peaking at such a young age so he was sure he'd age terribly. He had just hoped that he could stay attractive for his best friend for many years to come. "Of course I wouldn't dream of saying any of this infront of her," Like all women he was sure that she was conscious of her age, but he had always thought that she had looked really good for her age. He just grinned laughing at his friend as he nodded, "Yeah because sugar daddies get the benefits right?" Though he knew that there would be no benefits tonight because he was making up for when he so rudely skanked benefits a little while before.
He loved how the two were talking as though this man with the mustache did actually exist. He couldn't help but giggle some making a disguisted look as he too could imagine what sort of stuff could have gotten stuck in there. "Could you imagine him making out with someone and a piece of cookie from like a week ago falling into their mouth?" He wanted to puke as he puffed his cheeks out as though he was about to puke all over the floor but soon pretended to gulp it back down grinning widely. He smirked watching his friends antics as he too glanced over towards the window with a nice sigh of relief, "If only it could be that simple." He would love for nothing more than to just ride off in the sunset and never be found so he could live out the rest of his days with just Timothy and noone else. He knew that was highly unlikely though but at least the man could dream right?
He was glad that he could joke around with him so much as he just grinned, "Just for saying that i'm going to save up a shitload of money." He smirked as he tried to think about something amazing to do with it after but his mind just kept drawing blanks. "I'd probably blow it on something entirely stupid and worthless but it'd still be damn fun doing it." He was just that type of person who looked at a price tag and was not bothered by it at all. He could care less about money since he'd grown up in a wealthy home, but at the same time he knew that was bound to catch up with him and bite him in the ass. "Alright, so we'll just plan for a year or two on the road. You figure if we travel to every state to see the sites, obviously we'll have to take a boat to a few of them, but if we stay there long enough to enjoy the culture it would take a year or two right? Maybe we could stick around LA a little longer or something?" He grinned laughing as he looked over at the other man. He had always wanted to live in LA for some reason though never really knew why. California as a whole just always had such a strong appeal to him.
He was so glad when he could see his friends mood just getting brighter and brighter as the time went by, and he had a feeling that he'd be head over heels once he'd seen the hottub, and of course that was exactly right as he had watched and listened to him. "Hey I was too busy of thinking about everything else, all in all I think I did a pretty damn good job tonight. Plus i'm sure they have them down in the hotel gift shop or whatever the hell it's called downstairs, shall I call down and see if I could order a pair?" he asked as though it'd been something as simple as a drink or something to eat. He quirked a brow as he took a few steps reaching for a phone that was just right out of the bathroom. "Should I have them put them in an oven or something so they're nice and toasty when you slip into them?" he had been of course talking about one of those ovens like they have at the hospitals where the blankets are warmed up. The thought alone had his entire body warming up, or maybe that was just that bright ass smile on Tim's face.
The hug did not last as long as Carter had wanted it to, that much was for sure, but he knew what Tim had pulled away for even if he hadn't wanted him to. He just sighed some as he stepped out of the bathroom leaving the hottub as he looked over towards the balcony. "I figured we'd just relax, for someone who put so much time and effort into tonight I sorta skipped the minor details." He had wished he'd have a better plan for the night but he just couldn't come up with something. Not after he'd gotten a hug and then had been pushed away from just as quickly, that pretty much sucked as far as he'd been concerned. Part of him just wanted to throw him on the bed and get all this tension shit over with, but that part was silently tucked away because he knew he couldn't do that. "What would you like to do in a big ass room like this for a night?' He asked wanting to get his friends opinion since of course tonight had been all about Timothy. [/blockquote]

wanted to get into this particular discussion. Expertly, he veered the conversation away from anything too awkward, saying, " oh, sure, as long as the provide the.. uh, sugar?" He thought about that for a moment, then burst out laughing, a blush flashing across his cheeks. Once he'd calmed down enough to wipe the tears from his eyes, he sighed, letting his head fall back in embarassment. " Oops," he snorted. " Oh, God, that's digusting!" Tim cringed, not wanting to think about the mustache man kissing someone. That would just be awful. Especially if the whole cookie thing happened. " Geez, why would you say that?" he scowled playfully, " now I'm going to have nightmares about it." He shuddered, unable to get the image of stale food and facial hair out of his head. That settled it - he would never grow one of those things. He ran a hand over his mouth, subconciously making sure no mustaches had suddenly decided to spring out across his upper lip. He nodded almost longingly at his friend's next words, imagining a world in which such things were possible. To just forget about everything aside from each other, and just live day by day, never having to worry about anything else.. if only that were possible. " Oh, well. We'll get that RV, and go on a road trip, and for a while we can just pretend we're a couple of bad-ass criminals on the run," he decided stubbornly, grinning. That was totally the sort of thing they'd end up doing, too, just to make the journey more exciting for themselves. As Carter paused, Tim, too, tried to think of something worth spending large amounts of money on. Really, he couldn't think of anything off the top of his head, either. There were too many possibilities, and none of them seemed to fit.. which was probably why the other man was always blowing his cash on fancy hotel rooms and whatnot. He shook his head as his friend continued, agreeing wholeheartedly. " Yeah, you would. At least we'd be able to laugh about it later, though. And you know - laughter is priceless," he smirked at his own dorkiness, though he really wasn't that concious of it. It just sort of.. slipped out from time to time. Carter should be used to it by now. He became more serious as they started actually considering the trip, thinking carefully. " Yeah.. we could go from New York, up and down the country, stop in LA for a while.. then drive through Canada to Alaska!" he became excited, having smoothly included Canada in their journey. " Then, we could ditch the RV and fly over to Hawaii. Not that we'd be able to ditch it, after living in the thing for two years.." He could clearly see them fifty years from now, still hanging on to the oversized truck for mere memory's sake. Tim laughed, humoured to no end by his friend's careless way of throwing money around. Did he want silk pyjamas, though? He furrowed his brow, thinking, then spoke: " I'm not too sure. Silk would feel extremely weird, I think. I could go for flannel, though, but I'm not sure they'd carry such average attire," he shrugged. Really, he could just sleep in his boxers and his shirt. It really didn't make a difference. Besides, as Carter had said earlier - would they really be sleeping much tonight? It wasn't likely, with so much to do. As the other man continued talking, Tim gave him a puzzled look. " They do that?" he asked. Well, he'd never heard of such a thing before, but it seemed pretty cool. Tim grinned, following Carter from the room. Okay, it was settled - he was, once again, deliriously happy in the other man's presence. He felt like singing from the rooftops, or something cliche like that. For the time being, though, he just settled for adding an extra 'skip' to his step, making a sort of game of it as they moved through the suite. " That's fine. There must be tonnes to do here," Tim replied lightly, looking around the room. It was a bit overwhelming, actually, to have to think of one thing to focus their attentions on. " Of course, I have no idea where we might start," he added, expression thoughtful. " I could honestly just lay right here and think about the possibilities all night." He looked over to Carter, at a complete loss for ideas. All Tim needed right then was to be in the presence of his best friend without there being any sort of tension between them. And, as far as he was concerned, that was what he had. He'd never been one to ask for more... which was probably why he hadn't said anything about his feelings for Carter, but that was completely off-topic, and thinking about it would probably ruin his good mood. Carter burst out laughing as his friend made the sugar comment and could not contain himself. He leaned his hand against a wall as his other free hand slid over his stomach as he had been laughing way too much. "I can provide all the sugar you'll ever need," He said giving it that sort of sexual innuendo tone for a second before quickly adding, "With all sorts of fudge and cakes and candy that is. The best kind of sugars in the world, oh and to wash it all down i'll give you as much soda as you could ever want or need." Carter laughed as he thought back to the sugar daddy caramel type candy that used to come in those ugly yellow packages. "Okay so maybe not so much sugar or else our teeth'll probably fall out so yeah, i'll go easy on the sugar daddying." He was pretty sure he'd just made that last word up which had him laughing even more.
Carter gave a hallow laugh as he watched the disguist rise and spread across his friends face. "You know me, I can't help but say the stupidest things at the worst of times." He shook his head as he was being mostly serious now. "You give me a sight and I distort it to be some nasty gross thing," He grinned, "It's sorta like a gift or something. The gift of uh, what's the word I should use? Oh yeah, right, disgust." He laughed grinning over at his friend. He was telling the truth though, most of the time the cute little innocent things that Tim would say would get blown way out of proportion with Carter just because he couldn't help himself. "If you have nightmares i'll be right there next to you to calm you down, I could tell you some innocent joke or something about cute baby bunnies or something." He was teasing once more considering he was pretty sure he didn't even know any innocent jokes, but he would at least try to help his friend anyway he could. "Like the masculine version of Thelma and Louise or something? Without the whole driving off the cliff thing at the end," He had always hated that part of the movie.
Carter grinned knowing that his friend had been trying to think of something worth spending the money on, but the blank expression on his face had been enough to tell him that he too could think of absolutely nothing. "We would have stories for years right?" He laughed thinking about the two of them being around the age of seventy or so laughing about some stupid toy or something he'd bought just because he was bored and wanted to blow some money. Speaking of toys he grinned as he remembered a commercial he'd seen the other night about the laser tag toy that he could have bought, sure the kids in the commercial had been around twelve or so but did that really matter? Hell no, he was just upset that he hadn't boughten it already so the two of them could be playing that right now running off their dinner. He loved listening to Timothy map out their journey and just nodded as he spoke of their stops and then the plane. "And then what would we do after Hawaii?" Carter had always thought to that be a paradise and he would have loved to spend all of his days there, but lately he was thinking somewhere more exotic. "We'd have to go back to the RV, it'd feel too much like home just to leave it sitting somewhere in Alaska. I guess it'd give us another reason to go back there though," He grinned looking at the other.
He had loved the idea that Tim would choose flannel more than silk, it just cemented into his mind that this guy was amazing because he thrived for the simple things in life. "I'm sure if I toss enough money at one of them they'll drive to whatever store sells them just to pick you up a pair, talk about service right?" He grinned as he teased his friend before laughing at his expression at the next part, "No, no, no, no, no!" He exclaimed waving his hands infront of him so Timothy would get that thought out of his mind. "It was a joke!" His laughter roared across the room as he had loved the innocence of Tim. "You know like what they do in the hospitals and shit with those scratchy blankets?" He had hated those blankets when he had went to visit his aunt in the hospital before. His aunt had been one person in his family he could actually stand but unfortunately she had died when he was only around fifteen or so.
He loved watching Timothy and hoped that it hadn't been too weird that his eyes kept focused on him for so long, but everything about the other just screamed innocent and beautiful. He had always had such strong feelings for the man and times like this made it clear why that had been the case. He was just thankful that all their time together hadn't corrupted the other any, Carter would have honestly felt terrible if that had been the case, but instead Tim still thrived and seemed as excited as a little kid. "How about I take you out on the balcony and let you get some fresh air, I think that burger back there's made you a tad loopy." Or if could have been everything that he had done for him with the suite and hottub that had overjoyed him. He laughed as he opened the doors to the balcony and could feel the breeze rush over them, of course Carter taking a step closer to Timothy as he put his arm around him to lead him outside. He couldn't help but at least want to touch his friend a little, and if that had meant an innocent arm around him so be it. He would of course move if the other found it weird but for now he'd just hoped to be close. "Who knew New Jersey could be so damn beautiful right?" He asked with a chuckle looking out over all the buildings and houses. He was glad it was a clear night too so he could see as far as his eyes would let him. "I'm glad you're happy with all this, if I could do it for you everynight I would." He knew it had sounded corny but wasn't that what best friends were for? Of course Carter liked to think of their relationship being more than just best friends but he could settle, it's what he's been doing for so long. [/blockquote]

" he managed. It felt great to be able to laugh like this with his friend again, after the past few days of silence and avoidance. It was almost as if a sort of dam had broken, pushing them past the recent hiccup in their relationship, on to a better place. It was a relief, really. Tim was honestly glad that he'd decided to come here tonight, instead of ignore Carter's text message as he'd initially intended. He nodded as the other man continued, quietly agreeing wholeheartedly. Carter did have a tendency to say some pretty strange things at inopportune times. " Exactly. It can be your superpower!" Tim suggested, suddenly remembering the whole 'super best friends' thing they'd had going on. He grinned widely. Even if Carter didn't remember any of that, he'd still managed to amuse himself to some degree. He raised his eyebrows, though, as the other man continued. " Innocent jokes? Yeah, that'll happen," he said skeptically. He could imagine waking up in the middle of the night, scared out of his mind, only to have Carter tell him some sort of sick, twisted joke. At least he'd be laughing, though. In his opinion, that was the most important thing. He nodded thoughtfully at the reference to Thelma and Louise, smiling slightly. " Yeah, exactly," he nodded. " We would," Tim agreed, also picturing them as crooked old men, laughing about some weird purchase or another. It was curious, really, how similar their minds were. Tim watched as Carter's mind seemed to drift, giving him a quizzical look. " Why do you have your plotting face on?" he asked suspiciously. And, of course, somewhat excitedly; Carter plus his plotting face usually equalled good times. Or terribly stressful times. But Tim could usually put a stop to those ideas. He considered his friend's question carefully, imagining them hanging around the island paradise. " Well..." he began, leaning back a bit, " we'd probably spend a while there, soaking up the sun and whatnot." He grinned to himself, then continued. " And I guess we'd have to come back eventually, awesome as it would be to live there for the rest of our days. I think we'd probably get bored, after a while, anyway." He paused, considering their options upon their return. He looked over at Carter as the other man spoke, nodding briefly. " Exactly," he smiled, " we wouldn't be able to leave it behind. And we could road-trip to.. well, wherever we wanted to go." Tim let out a sigh, completely astounded by the life of the rich and famous. " Seriously?" he asked. Would someone really go to the great length of driving to a store and buying a pair of flannel pyjamas, just to please a snobby rich guy? Then again, if there was enough of a tip involved, probably anything was possible. Besides, he was quite sure stranger things would have been done. Being sent for the proper pair of pyjamas might even be normal for this hotel staff. After a moment, however, Tim shrugged, grinning. " I think I can make do without all that," he decided bravely. An expression of suprise crossed his face as Carter burst into laughter, then he scowled good-naturedly, rolling his eyes. " You're impossible," he told him, running a hand through his hair. He had, obviously, known about the ones at the hospital, and figured it was entirely possible for a hotel to have such luxuries. Then again, what did he know about 'luxury?' His on-campus dorm bedroom was bigger than the one he had at home. Luckily, he was entirely okay with that. Tim frowned when Carter questioned his sanity, but the look soon gave way to excitement. " Oh, alright," he gave in, pretending to be bored by the prospect of the balcony. However, the enthusiasm was clearly visible in his eyes. He loved the thrill of being up so high (providing he was safe, of course). He allowed Carter to put his arm around him, already quite over the events of the past few days. Though, he tried to focus more on the balcony and less on the close physical contact, determined to keep the night completely free of anything more than friendship. " I know," Tim replied, looking out over the darkening scenery, " but I guess anywhere can be beautiful, if you look at it the right way." He shrugged, as if the whole thing were simply a matter of fact. He looked up at the sky, eyes searching for those new, yet familliar stars, then turned to look at Carter, grinning. " That's why I hang out with you," he joked. However, it was easy to tell that he was happy with his friend's words. [/ul]

Carter loved hearing his friends laughter and did not want to stop when he'd finally found a topic that could crack him up, but when his friend told him to stop he just nodded and stopped talking just barely squeezing the last word out. He had almost wished that he could just keep it up but he had to listen to Tim and he'd told him to stop, so that is all he could do right now. He scratched the back of his neck as he looked around wondering what else he could say to keep the laughter coming. He had liked how the two of them could go from laughing hysterically to having a somewhat decent heartfelt talk though. Conversation was the one thing that seemed to flow pretty easily between the two and Carter was thankful for that. "Superpower?" He hadn't remembered too much of that night with each passing day, but he seemed to recall something about superpowers. Even if he could not remember the entire conversation he knew it had to be funny. If it wasn't why in the world were both of them laughing so damn hard?
When he laughed about the innocent jokes Carter couldn't help but grin and shrug, "It's going to happen one day and it'll blow your damn mind!" He teased knowing that he wasn't going to just stop being so damn dirty all the time and clean his act up. He actually liked having that perverted mind of his. It had kept things lively since he never had a clue what the hell he was going to say, so of course that just kept things entertaining. He wasn't sure if it'd been that much fun the longer it happened though or if Tim would get bored of the repetition, so of course when the two were just alone he tried his best to be normal and not throw in all that super lame and horny jokes he'd been so used to. Most would actually say that he was an entirely different person in a large group then when he'd been spending time one on one with Timothy, and he would completely agree and tell them it'd been for no other reason than Timothy keeping him close to earth and happy. Tim had been his rock in a world of instability. He needed him. He just grinned as he heard his friend agree and laughed, "We'd be hotter and younger than them too." He believed that, and plus they would hopefully not get pinned near the cliff like that.
Carter hadn't even noticed his mind wandering until Tim had said something and he turned his head over to look at him, "Huh? Oh what?" He grinned as he still thought back to that commercial. "I know i'm thinking ahead but I so know what we're doing when we get back to the dorm!" The dorm had been smaller but he'd hoped it would still be just as much fun, "Either that or if you wanted to get out of here for a little while we could go to the store?" He would not tell him what he was thinking and honestly didn't care whether Tim wanted to go somewhere and get what'd been on his mind now, or if he would want to head there before going to the dorm. "Oh yeah we'd have to spend a while there, I wouldn't have it any other way. We could even climb a volcano or something!" He laughed though that had sounded pretty fun. "Yeah vacations are only fun because they're something different than your usual life right?" He shrugged, "We could be right back in New York and I wouldn't mind if I had my buddy by my side." He wished he could call him more than just a buddy but he couldn't, not yet, or ever if he never just sucked it up and told him how he'd felt.
Carter shrugged and nodded as he looked over at Tim, "Sad isn't it?" He figured money made the world go round though so he was thankful that he'd had at least enough to live comfortably with. "Good because you'd be super hot in flannel tonight and it'd be so uncomfortable," He of course was lying and wasn't sure if it'd be hot later, but then again if he'd been wearing flannel Carter might have turned the heat up just to get him to strip some. It was secretive and he couldn't get in trouble so why the hell not? He just wished he could come right out and tell him everything that he'd wanted to, but instead he'd been stuck with nothing more than the idea of them together without it actually happening. "I know but you love me for it!" He could not stop laughing as his side could start to hurt as he felt it almost throb. He did manage to slow the laughter down though. He didn't want to look like some sort of maniac.
He was thankful when the other did not fight as his hand went around him and he guided him outside, but he did make sure to move his hand so he did not make the other uncomfortable or anything. He glanced over at him out of the corner of his eye and just let out a sigh, nothing bad but moreso one that had shown that he'd been so comfortable in his surroundings right now. Carter went and leaned against the railing and stared out into the sky which had started to blacken as he listened to Tim, "When did you get so damn smart?" He teased knowing that what the other had been saying was absolutely true, and that his friend had been one of the smartest kids he had known. That is one of the reasons he could never figure out why he'd hang out with Carter, but it's not like he was going to complain ever! He cocked a grin as he looked at his friend with an almost astonished look, "Does that mean you just hang out with me because of my money?" He asked as though it offended him more than anything, but in reality he'd known exactly what he meant and hadn't found it mean in the slightest. [/blockquote]

" he began, collecting his thoughts. Then, slowly, he attempted to describe it. " Somehow we got onto the topic of how I'm a hero. And then, I think I said something about us being super best friends, which we totally are. So, you'd obviously need some sort of super power, wouldn't you?" He shrugged, grinning. The other night, it had seemed like a perfectly normal thing to be talking about, but now that he thought back to it, it seemed a bit obscure. Oh, well. Knowing their friendship, Carter would likely understand completely. That was the scary thing. " Yeah, it will. Just - boom - explosion!" Tim replied, mimicking the action with his hands to make his point clear. " Then, you'll have to clean my brains up off the wall," he added, looking at the wall behind him as if imagining the mess. Then, he made a face of amused disgust. " Euck. I don't want to die like that. But I guess you'll always be able to get the hotel staff to help you, if I do.." He furrowed his brow, trying to picture the gruesome scene he'd just described. He couldn't even recall why they were talking about this, and that realization made him laugh. He only continued at Carter's next words, nodding enthusiastically. " Of course," he agreed, " Thelma and Louise - version two-point-oh." Another lame joke, courtesy of Timothy Wright, he thought to himself, smirking. That's what he was for, after all - lame jokes and keeping everyone out of trouble. God, he sounded like some sort of parent, or something. Gross. Tim raised his eyebrows as his friend spoke, squinting his eyes slightly as if that might help him read the other man's mind. " ...What are we doing?" he asked carefully, knowing full well that Carter probably wouldn't want to answer him. Hopefully, it would be a good suprise. He tried to use his friend's mention of the store as a clue, but it hardly helped - the possibilities were fairly endless when it came to Carter and buying things. He considered the offer, though, looking around the room and shrugging. " I'm fine either way. Store, suite, it's all the same, really. Why? Would going to the store mean good things?" Tim asked the question earnestly. He wasn't sure he was in the mood to go on an expedition right then, but if doing so would make the evening that much more fun, why not? He had never been the decision-maker in their friendship, anyway; he was pretty much happy to go along with whatever Carter wanted, and having a choice was actually quite disconcerting. He raised his eyebrows at the idea of the two of them climbing a volcano. " Because that wouldn't end in disaster," he rolled his eyes, sarcasm obvious in his voice. More likely than not, Carter would want to go just "a little bit further," and they'd end up in a desperate bid for their lives. Or something. But what the hell? They'd likely go right ahead and do it, anyway. Why go to Hawaii if you weren't willing to explore the island's fiery origin? He nodded as the other man spoke, agreeing wholeheartedly. " Looks like I'll never be rid of you," he commented dryly, though it was quite obvious that he didn't mean it. Tim tended to get a bit uncomfortable in mushy situations. Especially when it came to Carter - probably because of all the pent up emotions. Whatever the reason, though, he made up for it by trying to joke around. He only hoped Carter wasn't aware of this defense. Tim nodded, still quite shocked at the apparent expectations of the rich. " Wow.." he said, almost in disbelief. Even if he won the lottery, he would never be able to do stuff like that. He'd never have the ability to be used to getting whatever he wanted, or being waited on hand and foot, or having everything done for him.. it would probably be highly boring, actually. He was the sort of person who had to be occupied with something. Strangely enough, he felt lucky to have been born in a middle-class household; he didn't have a crap life, but he'd still learned lessons of humility and self-sufficiency. He gave his friend a thoughtful look at the flannel comment. " Yeah, flannel is pretty hot, actually. Winter pyjamas," he decided, grinning. Usually, when the weather got warmer, he just slept in his boxers. It was easier that way. " Oh, shut up," he replied to Carter's next words, crossing his arms and pretending to be offended. It didn't last, though, as his friend sounded like some sort of choking hyena and there was really nothing Tim could do to keep from joining in on his laughter. When Carter removed his hand, Tim felt its absence, though he was careful not to show this. It had only been a small thing, after all. He joined his friend at the railing, leaning against it so that their arms just touched. He gave the other man a wide smile. He was just so happy right now, he really couldn't do much else. " I've always been smart," he informed him, before looking back out to the horizon. Well, this was fairly romantic, wasn't it? He glanced back at Carter, pausing as if to read his expression, the turned his gaze downward over the edge of the balcony. Now was as good a time as any to bring up the whole 'by the way, I'm in love with you' thing. Of course, as usual, he just couldn't do it. Instead, he gave the man a sheepish grin, shaking his head. " Of course not," he rolled his eyes, finding the idea quite preposterous. However, he didn't elaborate. He couldn't think of any way to describe his reasons for being Carter's friend that wouldn't be too revealling or meaningless. ooc SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG D: I had a craazay week. I LOVE YOU =D [/ul]

Carter had watched the mans facial expressions and had wished that he could remember more about that conversation, but of course he had to only go on what his friend had been saying. That was better than nothing though as he quirked a brow when he brought up their super powers and such. "I must've been drunk, this conversation sounds insane." He was just joking though as he laughed giving a quick nod, "And did we figure out what my super power had been?" He asked curiously as he looked his friend over taking in his every feature. He of course had been so enthralled with this man that even just looking at him had sent him into a whirl. "Totally super best friends," He made the comment grinning over at his friend giving him a wink. He, and everyone else around them, had always known their relationship had been different so what better way to describe it as special and super?
Carter's eyes widened as he watched the mans hands come up to gesture the explosion as he burst out laughing pushing the others shoulder in a joking manner, "You're such a goof," He rolled his eyes playfully as he could finally feel himself calming down, but just as soon as he was going back to normal the other brought up having to clean his brains up, "Me? Isn't that what room service is for?" He made the joke considering they had been in a hotel so had no reason to clean up anything of their own, but at the same time when he did happen to 'blow the others mind' he might have been anywhere near a hotel and might have to do the dirty work of cleaning it all up himself. "I'd call someone, i'm sure there's someone out there broke enough to clean up blown up brains for a couple of dollars." He smirked as though it'd be no big deal if that were to happen, but of course the thought even in play had devestated him and you could almost feel a hint of sorrow in his eyes. "I knew you'd see things my way," He grinned giving him a wink when he'd made the comment about the hotel staff as well, at least they were cracking the same jokes about a morbid subject. Carter again bursted out in laughter about the Thelma and Louise joke. No matter if they had been lame or not Carter couldn't stop laughing when it had came to Timothy. He could say the stupidest joke and it could have Carter in stitches just because he'd almost felt drunk on love, now how lame was that?
Carter pretended to zip his lips with his hand as he 'locked them' by turning his hand as though it'd been holding a key, and just like that he threw the imaginary key behind him and shrugged as his friend asked him a question. He could not tell him about their next surprise though the thought of it had been so exciting for him. He was such a damn kid at heart and in the end hoped he never grew up entirely. When you lost your imagination a small part of you died and he just did not want to even imagine what his word would be like without that sense of adventure and imagination. He sighed and let his mouth fall open knowing that he could not hold his lips shut for too long, and when his friend asked if the store would change things he just shrugged a bit. "It could make things a hell of a lot better, but then again just relaxing and doing nothing is fun when it's the two of us right?" He asked with a grin looking over at him. "How about this?" He asked looking over to the clock that had been hanging on the wall and noticing the time. "We have a couple of hours before the store even thinks about closing so we should just hang around for a little while longer and then head out for some exercise or something?" He asked curiously hoping that could be at least a good idea.
Carter simply shook his head when Tim made the comment about never being rid of him, "You already knew that one though. Don't sound so down about it though. We both know you're excited as hell to get to spend your life with me." He teased though knew that his friend had been alright sharing his life with him. They both couldn't see themselves away from one another, that much had been obvious, but as far as Carter was concerned he figured Tim wanted nothing more out of him than friendship. He just could not do only friendship for the rest of their lives, but at the same time he could not leave his friend and needed to just suck it up and stay calm around him. He knew he would crack eventually though and just hoped he wouldn't push his friend away from him. "Flannel is super sexy, we should make our super hero costumes out of it!" He exclaimed playing along with the joke that the two had talked about the other night, and then of course just barely when Tim had given him the scoop. Well sort of anyway, he'd still been super confused but it had sounded funny at least so he didn't mind. Carter cracked the widest grin he could when he watched his friend play offended, he'd done a terrible job at sticking to it though as he just giggled some at Tim, "Don't worry, I know you love me even if you want to pretend that you don't." He had been pretty much joking around but at the same time it'd been the exact same story for himself. He loved Tim and had to pretend that it'd been only as a friend.
Carter, after leaning against the railing outside on the balcony, held his breathe for just a second when his friend came beside him and leaned next to him. He looked at their arms just slightly touching and couldn't help by smile as he kept his eye contact away from the other. He'd probably look like some mushy mess as he slowly let himself breathe as he looked out across the city. When he heard the answer about him hanging out for more than just the money he grinned widely. "I know," He said simply looking over at his friend with that wide grin of his and just laughed some. "This is nice isn't it?" He asked looking back out across the city not wanting to think too much about the two of them in this romantic setting. "I'm glad you came and didn't just ignore me," He shrugged his shoulders some knowing that Tim could have very well just ignored him and this night would have been an absolute waste, "But then if that happened and you were ignoring me i'd do nothing more than find your ass and drag you here one way or another. There's no chance in hell I was spending tonight alone without you," That was meant to sound like a joke but he'd been serious. He needed them to get over what had happened and move on.
ooc. it's alright <3 crazy seems to describe my week as well so you weren't alone! haha. glad to see you back around WOOT! [/blockquote]

" Tim added sarcastically, shaking his head at the memory. Only Carter would be able to get free booze, in the middle of a park, in the middle of the night. He frowned slightly, trying to remember if they'd actually figured out what their super powers would be. After a moment, though, he shrugged, smiling sheepishly. " I have no idea. But if we did, it was probably super awesome!" he decided optimistically, giving his friend a flambuoyant thumbs-up. One of those random bursts of energy, or something. He beamed widely at Carter's next words, nodding in agreement. There really was no other way to describe them. " I know," Tim replied, rubbing his shoulder where Carter had shoved him in feigned pain. He scowled jokingly, then quickly allowed a smile to slide back on his face. Was it sad, that even a little 'friendly' shove could make him feel so great? He supposed it was sort of like what they talked about in the locker room - being whipped. Usually, it was said about a guy being completely head-over-heels for a girl, but he figured it would work in this case, too. Whipped for Carter. He almost rolled his eyes at himself. " Yeah, but I figured you wouldn't want some stranger touching my precious brains," Tim told his friend innocently, trying to appear offended by the other's indifference. He brought a hand to his head posessively, almost as if he were afraid that his brains might become frightened at the current topic and make a break for it. He rolled his eyes as his friend continued, replying with, " Gee, thanks," and taking no notice of the other man's slight sadness. Tim shook his head once more as Carter burst into laughter; he knew he really wasn't that funny, but apparently his friend was easily amused. Or just humouring him. Either way, he really didn't mind - he liked the sound. Tim pouted at Carter's refusal to reveal his plans, though he didn't push it. If his friend was as excited about it as he seemed to be, then Tim would find out what he'd thought of sooner or later. It'd probably be great, too - for someone who had so little faith in their own intelligence, the man could be brilliant when the opportunity arose. He listened carefully as his friend replied to his question, trying to search for accidental clues in his words. As usual, though, Carter was just vague enough that Tim had no idea what he had come up with. He nodded, and was about to speak when Carter continued. Once his friend had finished completely, Tim nodded in agreement, glad to have gotten that sorted out. " Sounds like a plan," he said, " I think I'm even more excited about tonight, now. It's going to be great - I can feel it. I've got a sixth sense, or something." He laughed, wiggling his fingers in what he figured was a magical effect, though it really only looked absolutely dorky. Tim cracked yet another smile as Carter played along with his sarcasm, sighing dramatically. " You know me too well," he accused affectionately, giving his friend one of those rare, revealling looks. Like Carter, he knew that there was something more than friendship between them. Also like Carter, he was too uncertain to do anything about it. The only solution he could think of involved waiting it out, searching for an opportunity to take things to the next level, and hoping for the confidence to follow through with that plan. So far, it hadn't worked, but at least he had some sort of idea. He gasped as his friend spoke, jumping slightly in excitement. " My God! You're a genius! Spandex is so two years ago, anyway - flannel is definitely the new sexy!" he blurted, then paused, a confused look on his face. " Wow, I just sounded like some sort of fruity designer, or something," he snorted, running a hand through his hair. He stuck his tongue out at Carter's next phrase, not trusting himself to reply with words. Tim caught sight of Carter's small smile, and half-grinned to himself. They were like some sort of shy, awkward couple who had no idea what to do about the whole thing. Though, neither was particularily shy, and they were more or less fine when it came to 'couple' business, though not around each other. And, as for the awkward part, well.. they had their days. As the brief silence continued, Tim looked out over the city, eyes travelling across its length. As strange and weird as this moment was, it made him undeniably happy - that's what it was, at the end of the day. Not matter what trouble he got himself into with Carter, no matter how much he hurt himself by believing in the possibility of something so impossible... just being in the presence of the man made him happy. Rare moment of clarity, Tim commented to himself, feeling quite at ease. " Yeah," he answered Carter, trying to focus on the 'niceness' of it all rather than his feelings for his best friend. It wasn't the easiest task. He shrugged at Carter's next words, biting his lip slightly. He hadn't wanted to talk so much about their fight, but he figured he'd have to deal with it coming up once in a while. " I don't think I'd be able to ignore you for too long, anyway," Tim admitted, smiling in an attempt to put a lighter twist on the situation. He laughed as Carter continued, able to clearly imagine the struggle which would ensue if the other man had tried to drag him anywhere. In a friendly manner, Tim bumped his shoulder against Carter's, grinning. " I'm pretty awesome, aren't I?" he said in reply to his friend's admission. ooc WOOT indeed xD[/ul]

Carter remembered bits and pieces of the other night. He did remember walking aimlessly through the park as well as meeting up with those few random people, and then he did remember when he'd taken that first drink after another group brought the alcohol. He'd found it funny at first because it'd been right out in public and most people were candid with their parties and yet this group didn't care. Neither did he as he ended up drinking right along with them until the booze had ran dry and he'd called his friend. "Maybe that can be my super power," He spoke up randomly thinking about it for a second more before letting his friend in on the rest of it. "Maybe my super power is finding the booze, like tracking it down no matter where it is. Free booze at that," He told him with a grin knowing that it'd been somewhat true, "It's like I can smell that stuff from miles away. That has got to be some sort of super power right?" He asked with a cheeky grin chuckling some. It had been lame but always something he managed to do.
Carter had to laugh while he looked at his friend curiously, "Why would you figure something like that? I'd have them wear satin gloves and all that good stuff, only the best." He said with a grin as wide as he could manage. "Your remains would be treated like a king, just not by me. At all, like seriously." He teased though had a hard time with dead things. Even animals, he had to carry his dead hamster back when he was like seven and it was devestating. He remembered he was as stiff as a board and, carter stopped mid-thought so he wouldn't go into some sort of depressing mood. He was thankful for a subject change though because the whole 'brains on the walls' conversation was not doing it for him anymore, rather depressing though meant to be funny, and grinned when his friend had agreed with him about the plans. He laughed when listening to his friend talk about the rise of excitement, "Isn't everything I get us into exciting?" He asked cocking an eyebrow as he looked over at the other. Of course he'd always thought there had never been a dull moment, but that was just because when it was serious all around them Carter and Tim would find something that would make it all hilarious, it was awesome with them though others around might not understand. He watched the finger and just rolled his eyes in a playful manner with a smirk while he looked at him, "Aw, are you my personal little fairy tonight?" Of course teasing as always.
"You'd be amazed the things I know about you," Just the small little things that most would have forgotten after so long, and yet Carter would keep hold of all information he could about his companion. He hated the word friend though when thinking about Tim just because it had hurt so much, almost like a damn dagger to the heart each time he'd thought about never moving further with him, but then again each time that something would happen where their lips would connect all those thoughts of friendship would float out the window. Or even those looks, like the revealing one that he could see right now, had gave him a sense that there was so much more there that neither were pushing towards. It was as though both wanted the same goal and yet they weren't courageous enough to take that next step with one another. He must be silly though to think like that. His friend did not like him like that and the only reason he could see things in that way was because it's what he'd wanted, not what Timothy was trying to get across. That had to be the truth, Carter was looking for something so badly that just couldn't be there. He sighed letting his eyes fall to the floor underneath their feet.
He could feel himself sinking into a sulking mood until he'd heard his friends exclamation about his genious-ness. He looked over astonished that he'd even make that announcement but soon joined his friend in laughter when he'd brought up spandex. "Well it's not like i'm saying we should get rid of that all together. We do still need our tights!" He loved how all manly superheros were supposedly wearing tights, something that most people didn't think of as too manly. "We would be the two hottest superheroes," He went and made two muscles as he looked at either arm before dropping them to his side, "Okay so maybe we should bulk up a little first. The flannel will make us look bulkier though, it's like a win win situation!" He was going all out with this idea just because it'd taken away from his previous thoughts about the two of them and where they stood, but once again he went and started to giggle when Timothy made the crack about the designer. "Yeah, you sorta just did didn't you? Maybe that'd be your claim to fame, you could go into business making sexy super hero outfits and become a billionaire and then you could be my sugar daddy!" He grinned leaning over to brush his arm against the others nudging him jokingly.
As they stood on the balcony so close together leaning against the railing Carter could feel his body starting to loosen up as he would glance over at Tim every now and then. He couldn't keep his eyes off of him for some reason, it was like the man had been a magnet that'd attracted Carter's gaze. The whole entire scene set before them had been magical and romantic and yet Carter couldn't do a damn thing, the idea was starting to upset him though he could put that to the back of his mind no problem. "Yeah i'm sort of impossible to ignore, you should know that by now." Carter hated being ignored and when it came right down to it he'd make sure you paid attention one way or another. He wasn't about just playing it cool, calm, and collected when he'd wanted something. He just grinned as he heard his friend, "Not the word i'd use but yeah, something like that." In reality he had a long list of words that he could use to describe Tim and all of them had been positive. He loved that man and the funny thing was everyone other than the two of them could probably see it had they watched them around one another. "You sure are something else," He said shaking his head slightly with a wide grin looking over at him finally, "I'm just still trying to figure out if that's a good thing or a bad thing," He teased as he moved away from the other incase he went to punch him or something, though by now he'd been laughing hard as his head rested against his hands on the railing. " he nodded, considering the idea. It wasn't as if the world needed much saving, anyway. And highschool would be a lot more fun if they had the ability to track down all alcohol within a ten-mile radius. He laughed as Carter continued with the whole 'brains' topic, shaking his head in disbelief. " Well, I'm glad to hear that. I wouldn't want any rubber dentist gloves touching my precious innards," he decided, shuddering at the thought. Those gloves were the reason he hated getting his teeth cleaned; the smell and taste of them was enough to make him gag, and he always felt sick afterwards. As his friend spoke again, Tim smirked, picturing his mangled corpse perched on a red, extravagant throne, a golden crown placed precariously on top of them. It was gruesome, to say the least, but he'd seen worse when forced to watch horror films. " You can say that again," Tim told his friend. Whatever the two of them did together, it was always exciting. No argument there. However, half the time, it wasn't exactly the sort of excitement Tim was into. For example, dragging Carter out of a seedy bar in the middle of the night when he was piss drunk. A necessary course of action, but hardly on his list of favourite activities. However, he had to smile - they had had some pretty great times. Then, his grin became sheepish, and he lowered his hands with a sigh. " You wish," he replied to the fairy comment, though he wasn't really sure what he meant. He gave his friend a confused look, thinking for a moment before asking, " what do fairies do, anyway?" The only fairy he'd really ever known about was Tinkerbell, and all she'd done was annoy Peter Pan and cause a lot of unecessary drama. As Tim's eyes met Carters, he felt the familliar jolt of energy through his body. Usually, he managed to ignore it, but when they were being more serious that was hard. He thought he saw something in his friend's face - a sort of question, or maybe just a brief, inexplicable emotion, but figured he must've imagined it. As much as Tim wanted more than just friendship where Carter was concerned, he was damn stubborn about insisting that it would never happen. That Carter couldn't feel the same. Even at the most obvious of signs, he would only turn away, unwilling to put their entire relationship on the line just yet. As the other man's eyes tore away from his own, Tim felt as if something precious had been ripped away, and struggled to regain it, finally answering Carter's words with: " that's a bit frightening. But I guess I've got a lot of blackmail material on you, too, so we're pretty much even." He gave his friend a wry smile, though his heart wasn't in the joke. He rolled his eyes at the tights comment, shaking his head. " Well, obviously. The tights are everything. How else would we put our muscular thighs on display to the world?" he asked, trying to act horrified. He glanced down at his own thigh, knowing it was far from muscular, then up at Carter's attempt to form impressive biceps. " Definitely," he agreed. There would certainly never be a pair of superheros quite like them, at the very least. He laughed, nodding wholeheartedly. " It is win-win! I don't know why no one's thought of it before. We're probably a huge asset to humanity, what with all our brilliant ideas." He grinned. On the contrary, if humanity ever found out what they spent their time talking about, he and Carter would likely be removed from the gene pool. They'd have to keep their schemes on the down-low. He chuckled at the thought of himself as a fruity designer, holding his hands up as if to defend himself from the possibility. " As great as it would be to spend loads of money on you, I'm definitely not going to persue that career path," he told Carter decisively, allowing himself to be nudged. Though Tim was looking forward, he was still aware of Carter's glances out of the corner of his eye. Strangely enough, it was empowering to know that he had at least some effect on the other man. He would've liked, more than anything, to act on it, but that was obviously out of the question. For now, he would just enjoy being aware of their closeness, and what he decided was Carter's inner battle to keep his hands off. This thought made Tim smirk - there he went, being overly dramatic again. Whatever, he told himself. There had to be a few advantages to his messed-up feelings. " Oh, believe me, I figured that out long ago," he answered Carter smoothly, finally looking over at his friend with a teasing smile. The sad truth was, he would never be able to ignore the man. Not entirely. He raised an eyebrow at his friend's next words, not sure whether they should be taken as a compliment or an insult. " Oh? What word would you use?" he asked. It was almost a challenge, but the mischevious glint in his eye revealled that he was only fishing for compliments. He hardly had to do that with Carter, but it was still nice to fool around a bit. He pretended to be offended as the other man continued, but couldn't help joining in on his laughter. Not wanting to put distance between them just yet, he stepped back to the giggling form of his friend draped over the rail, bending so that his face was near his ear and placing his arm across his back. He squeezed Carter's shoulder, saying, " Trust me, it's a good thing." Then, he straightened, raising his arms in a sort of confident stretch. [/ul]
