the forest was comfortable today, not too hot, not too cold. just right. the wind rustled through the leaves, crinkling them, a hissing noise coming through the trees. the life here was on the edge of spring, leaves getting ready to start growing again, flowers almost ready to bud, trying to get rid of the frost that February brought with winter. this was the best time of the year, where everything was coming back to life. and it was just really beautiful. spring would be interesting, that was for sure. it always was. sky could look back through her drawing spirals and see the way spring had looked last year if she wanted to, but those were tucked away in a trunk with all the other sketching tablets that had run out of space for her work and notebook paper filled with writing. the key to that trunk hung around her neck right now, something she wasn't willing to go many places without, just because she didn't want to risk anyone getting in there. it was sort of private.
her back straightened against the trunk of a tree, legs crossed over one another, a sketch pad laid in her lap, the ink from her pen documenting the way the trees looked today. this was a regular thing for her to do, sit out off the edge of a trail and draw for hours on end. or write. whichever she felt like. her messenger bag was equipped for whichever she felt like doing. as long as she had her ipod and spirals, she would be okay for a while day if she could get away with it. most of the time, there was some sort of intervening class or work that she had to tend to. those things were such an agitation. but without school, she'd have no way to get to college. without work, she'd have no way to pay for her college or her supplies.
the wind added a bit of bitterness to the temperature, so she pulled her jacket around her shoulders. scratching her head, she looked down at the tablet, then up at a tree, biting her lip as she put the tip of her pen back to her paper. she wished she could use something other than this black pen, but everything else was so expensive, so she sort of had to make due until she could buy charcoals that would look a lot better. that might take quite a few hours at the starbucks, though, and she didn't get very many hours as it was. putting the earbuds in her ears, she turned her ipod on, but not very loud. it was quiet here, so not much sound had to be drowned out. it was peaceful, for the most part. not too many people came this direction; one of the main reasons she liked it so much.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED AT THE WAY you love me all the timeMAYBE I’M AFRAID OF THE WAY I LOVE YOU What a beautiful day for running. Or walking, walking worked, too. And then she had to go back to work, and find time to train Rocky, and then drag her brother's but down to the stables so he could work with Killer. The twenty-two year old shook her head, smiling and laughing quietly under her breath. It was almost impossible to drag Hayden away from Jim, but she didn't mind taking over Killer's training every once in a while. As long as her brother was happy - and he was possibly way beyond happy, to be honest - than she was happy. If there's anyone in the world that deserves happiness, it's them two. The thought made her smile even more and put a little more bounce in her step, hazel eyes scanning over the forest as she unzipped her black Disney hoodie. ”I can't believe this thing still fits,” she mumbled to herself, the fingers of her right hand lightly tracing the sparkling pink LOVE on her left arm.
No longer interested in running, the riding instructor/stable hand yawned, stretched her arms above her head, and scanned the forest trail with glittering hazel eyes. No students showing PDA, no one selling drugs, no one passed out drunks, no dead bodies, no teachers doing things they shouldn't be doing. Damn, and here I was looking for adventure. Haha. Laughing again, the five foot eleven woman inched further along the trail, her pace slowing just a little 'pon spotting a girl sitting beneath the trees. It looked like she was drawing. Curious, she altered her path in the direction of the what looked to be high school student, making just enough noise for the girl to know that someone was approaching. ”Hey, what cha drawing?”

WE BUILT THIS ON A SOLID ROCK IT FEELS JUST LIKE IT'S HEAVEN'S TOUCH - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - That had been the last straw. Carleigh felt like she was going to explode at any second. Her brain was pounding against her skull, and it took all of her available will power not to stand in the middle of the corridor and scream her lungs out until someone were to shush her quiet. Over the last couple of months the brunette had been spiraling downwards into the blackest pit of despair. The darker it became the more unhinged she felt. It had gotten to the point where Carleigh could only think rationally. There was no feeling left to her thoughts or actions.
There was one thing she was sure of though. She needed an to get out of Jackson High. For once she wanted to see something other than the dark halls and corridors. She could go to the courtyard, but the school would obviously still be in sight, and that just was good enough for her. Naturally, her body had a mind of it's own. It strayed toward the edges of the trees. Though her eyes were set on the brightness of the sun in the sky, her feet kept her in the shadows.
Carleigh wasn't sure where she was going, but she knew she was going somewhere. After a little while of no thought passing through her head she noticed that she was going to end up outside Jacksonville. Carleigh stopped walking in the middle of the courtyard and sat down. Not many people were still walking around.
"Oh sh!t." she spoke as some people around her stared at her as if she uttered a terrible swear word, wherein which she did.
There was no explanation to her anger. Was it because of her relations with others? Still no reason, ever. Carleigh remembered her parents debating about putting her in Jackson High. "She is just a normal girl Adriane! She's not going to go to Jackson, and that's that." "Anthony, she's going there. We planned it already. No other school fits Carleigh. Her parents used to bicker and argue on that matter. Carleigh bit her lip conciously, wondering where to go and what to do next. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAGGED:! skylar, rebecka !
