E V E R Y O N E K N O W SI ' M I N O V E R M Y H E A DO V E R M Y H E A D- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Good boy, Raider. We had a good run today."
Reason said in her soft english accent. She patted the young Husky on his head, the dog panting from their long run before. It was a usual thing for them to be out at the park on Saturday mornings running. After all, Reason had to stay in shape in order to keep her place on the Track team at Jackson High. She had always loved running, and had been a good sprinter since the third grade. The talent had stuck with her since, even when she moved to the U.S. from England when she was ten. Not once had she let anything phase her.
Raider gave a soft bark, the sound ringing out across the small field they were laying in together, causing his owner to smile. At the moment, she was wearing a black tank top with black sweat pants to match, her favorite white sneakers on her feet. Sweat graced her brow, her long brown hair pulled back into a high pony tail with a thin head band lining her brow. Still petting Raider, Reason leaned back against the cool grass, resting as she gazed up at the bright blue sky, her own brown eyes shining as the sun's rays glanced off her eyes.
Turning over so that she was laying next to the dog on her side, she moved her left hand up and onto her cheek to support her head as she layed there. She noticed many of her fellow classmates roaming through the park, but didn't feel like calling out to them, for she knew that they were on their own schedule, and wouldn't waist their time stopping to speak with her. And though she seemed like she would be the popular type, Reason really wasn't. She had never been apart of the 'in' crowd, and that was just fine with her. In fact, she thought that they were all snobby and stuck-up, and had never wanted anything to do with them.
Pushing those thoughts from her mind, Reason smiled once more, looking down at the still figure of her dog beside her, resting from their run. She had probably gotten Raider about three years ago, when he was only four months old, and they had been close companions ever since. Whenever Reason was away, he would wait for her by the door until she got home, and once she was, they were always seen together. If you didn't know Reason personally, it wouldn't be hard to tell who her closet companion was.

Fletcher needed to get some time out of his room. It felt so weird being in his room alone. He had been placed into a four-bedroom dorm room, and so far he’d had the entire place to himself. Of course, he did like that sometimes. He was able to spread his things out more than he could if he had roommates. But sometimes it got a bit boring not having anyone to talk to. He had some cool people on his floor though, and he did hang out with a good amount of people. He was actually glad he had the big room to himself now since he was planning on throwing a party for his seventeenth birthday in a week. It would be very handy to have such a big room to throw the party in. He was still figuring out what he wanted to have anyway.
He pulled a pair of basketball shorts on, pulling a random t-shirt over his head and slipping his feet into a pair of sneakers. Time to head to the park. He slipped a couple of his favorite rubber bracelets over his wrists, checking his appearance in the mirror. He wasn’t vain by any standards, but he did like to look good. He switched out the stud in his nose to a ring, thinking nothing of it. He hadn’t met a lot of people here with a nose piercing. Eh, oh well. He liked to stand out. He grabbed his soccer ball from by the door, picking up his keys and phone as well. He loved playing goalie for the school’s Varsity team. A lot of people didn’t realize that it was a challenging position to play. It took a lot to block the entire net.
Fletch walked down to the school parking lot, pushing down the button on his keys to unlock the doors to his truck. He was one of the few kids here that had an actual truck. A few students had SUV’s but they weren’t really trucks. He had a Ford F150 four-door cab, with a diesel engine. It was his birthday present last year from his parents and he loved it to death. He got in behind the wheel, tossing the soccer ball onto the seat next to him. He grinned at the familiar growl of the engine as he turned the key in the ignition. He loved that sound so much. He checked his mirrors before pulling out of his parking spot and heading off out of the parking lot and down the road towards the park. It only took him about ten minutes to get there.
He parked, turning the truck off and getting out with the soccer ball under his arm. He made sure the doors were locked before heading off towards one of the open areas of the park. He made sure to put his phone and keys in the inner pocket of his shorts before starting practice. He made up his own moves as he dribbled up and down the field. There was a small net already set up for when kids had leagues there, so he made his way down to it. He set himself up for a good shot, placing his kick and wincing as the ball shot past the goal and over to a girl sitting with her dog. Crap. He jogged over, an apologetic look on his face. “Sorry about that… I usually guard the goal, not kick into it.” He offered up a sheepish smile, bending to pick the ball up.

E V E R Y O N E K N O W SI ' M I N O V E R M Y H E A DO V E R M Y H E A D- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Reason lay in the sun, eyes closed, dreaming to herself as she thought back to the days when she still lived in London. Her thoughts wandered, remembering the sweet smell of rain in the country, the sound of the cars running down the street in early morning. It made a smile come to her face once more. Suddenly, she was shook out of her thoughts by something hitting her head. Her eyes opened, and she sat up, rubbing her head. "Sorry about that... I usually guard the goal, not kick into it." Reason heard the voice of a boy, and looked up to see him leaning down to grab the ball he had kicked at her. Despite his look, Reason laughed, the sound soft.
"That's alright. I've been hit by worse."
Reason said with a small smirk, standing as Raider lifted his head, barking in Fletcher's direction, his tail wagging. Shaking her head one more time, she brushed the grass off of her pants, then looked up at the boy once again. She took in his appearence, noticing his sheepish look with a good natured smile. She ran a hand through her pony tail, reaching down to give Raider a pat on his head before speaking.
"I'm Reason. But since I can't really refer to you as the boy who kicked a ball to my head, mind telling me your name?"
Reason said, her voice kind. She felt different in a way, since she had just turned seventeen about six days ago. She knew that she was still the same person, but she only felt different because she knew that she was that much closer to starting out her life. She already had college in mind, on the classes she would take, on the proffesion she was planning to study. But that doesn't always mean that things would be easy.

Fletcher tried hard not to get in anyone’s way when he came out to the park. Apparently, today wasn’t one of his lucky days. And he felt worse seeing that his misplaced kick had sent the ball careening off to hit a poor girl in the head. All he could think as he walked over was how much he had to apologize for. He really did feel bad that his kick had caused trouble. All he could do was offer up a pathetic smile as he retrieved his ball. He was glad he was already red in the face from practice. Otherwise his face would be really red from her laughing. He knew she wasn’t actually laughing at him to be mean, but still, it was a little embarrassing.
He smiled softly as she said it was okay, brushing his bangs out of his eyes. He chuckled as her dog barked, watching as she stood. “Thanks for being cool about it…” He detected an accent, English if he wasn’t mistaken. He watched as she gave the dog a pat, almost getting flustered again as he realized he hadn’t actually said his name. “Right, sorry. Heh, my name’s Fletcher, Fletcher Morgan.” Way to be smooth kid. It was like he was seven again, getting his first crush. He felt awkward and pathetic. It really didn’t help that the girl he was talking to was incredible pretty. He was surprised she was out here alone. He would have thought someone would be with her.
Fletcher knew he had to find someway to make this feel less awkward. He smiled lightly, nodding in the direction of the girl’s dog. “Cute dog. Makes me miss my puppy back home.” He would have brought Twister here, but his parents thought it would be best to keep the boxer pup at home. He was hoping that once Twister was perfectly house trained, his parents would let him bring the pup to school with him. He knew it might not work, but he could hope. “So, you go to Jackson?” He couldn’t place her face, but he had a feeling she went to the high school. Which would be nice. He’d definitely be interested in seeing her around the hallways.

E V E R Y O N E K N O W SI ' M I N O V E R M Y H E A DO V E R M Y H E A D- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Thanks for being cool about it..." Reason nodded, her gentle smile still on her face. She could tell that he was still nervous, but that her joke at lightened his mood some. She tilted her head slightly, still watching him. "Right sorry. Heh, my name's Fletcher, Fletcher Morgan." Reason smiled more as he finally gave her something to call him by.
"Well Fletcher, I'm pleased to meet you."
Reason said, closing her eyes with a pleasent expression on her face, the sun shining in her hair and warming her face. Opening her eyes again, she noticed that Fletcher was actually cute. She hadn't had a boyfriend since last year, after they broke up because he had been mean to her. The only sad thing was that his actions had started to rub off on her, and she had been mean for a while too. But she had changed her ways after people started calling her a jerk.
"Cute dog. Makes me miss my puppy back home." Reason was shaken out of her thoughts by the sound of his voice, and she smiled again, it having disappeared as she had gotten lost in her thoughts again. Looking down at Raider, she ran her fingers through his soft gray fur, the young dog closing his eyes as his tail continued to wag. Laughing a little as she saw his tounge stick out, she turned back to Fletcher. "So, you go to Jackson?" Reason nodded again.
"Thanks. He's my best friend, if you count a canine as your friend. And yah, I go to Jackson. In my Sophmore year, but I turned seventeen on the third."
Reason said to him, crossing her arms as her smile stayed present. Raider barked again, jumping up and rushing over to Fletcher, sniffing him as his tail continued to wag. Reason only shook her head as she watched the silly antics of her dog.

Fletcher was glad that he had made a new friend. Especially one he knew he’d actually meet again. He met a lot of different people when he came to the park, but most of them were either out of school, or just visiting. At least Reason was at the high school like he was. It made it a lot easier. No doubt she was a really sweet girl too. He could have guessed that after first impressions, but it never hurt to get to know her a little better than this. Plus, he needed more friends that were girls. And he never thought of that as a bad thing either.
“Well it’s really nice to meet you too.” He smiled lightly, happy his awkwardness was finally going away. He tried not to get too tongue tied around pretty girls, but somehow it always came back to bite him on the rear end. But then he met girls like her that made him a bit more comfortable and less nervous. Which was a really nice feeling. It helped that she was really pretty. He had to physically stop himself from staring. But he couldn’t help it. She had the prettiest brown hair, and her eyes… well, they were amazing. It was the only word to describe them.
Fletch tried not to get too caught up in them as she returned his comment about the dogs. He really did miss his puppy back home. He knew the pup was in good hands, and he’d been telling his little sister all sorts of tricks she could teach Twister. The play dead one and the shake hands one were the two he wanted the little boxer pup to learn the most. “Hey, dogs always count as best friends. That’s what they’re here for.” He didn’t care if his best friend was a dog. If anything, it was great. They couldn’t talk back to you, couldn’t annoy you with every little detail.
He chuckled as her dog came bounding over to lick him, kneeling down to the dog’s height. “How ya doing buddy?” He offered the dog his hand to let him sniff it before ruffling the dog’s head. He laughed at his face was licked. “Thanks for the kisses… and now I smell like doggy breath.” He stood back up, wiping off his cheek with the back of his hand. Dog breath and sweat was not a good mix. Oh well. he had to shower anyway. He looked back towards the girl, a soft smile on his lips. “You beat me by a few days. I’m seventeen on the seventeenth actually. I’m surprised you’re not a junior.”
