For such a small boy, Daniel has a very large, ever-present smile, which reflects the blinding light of the sun. His teeth are perfectly straight (thanks to several years of braces) and severely white from a compulsive tooth-brushing habit. The pearly whites are surrounded by well developed lips, the pink color rather pale but still lively. Studs and rings often flow around those lips haphazardly, as it is a well-known fact that Daniel has an excessive amount of piercings.
From his lips, your eyes will travel upward to a rather uninteresting nose. Aside from the metal which hangs precariously from his septum, there is nothing of note in this portion of his face. The simplicity leaves many to overlook a feature which plagues others quite often.
The brightest asset of Daniel's face, though, brighter than his iridescent teeth, are the eyes out of which his soul peeks. The warm brown color, which can be dull in lifeless in the wrong person, are exquisitely mastered by his joyous spirit. The glimmering jewels are the highlight of his face, and no matter how hard you try to deny it, they make you love the warm chocolate color.
Daniel's hair is mostly black, and is cut loosely to cover his face. He spends quite a lot of time straightening this mess of hair, so it is usually meticulously place. Random bouts of color can sometimes be spotted atop his head as well, seemingly ever-changing.
Staples in Daniel's wardrobe include jeans, usually of the tighter fit, and t-shirts. He doesn't fret much about what he is wearing, though, and can be pictured in just about anything.
personality: Daniel is a bright, luminous ball of sunshine. Quite literally, Daniel's automatic response to anything is a smile. It is a very rare occasion that you can find the boy's lips down-turned, so rare that you should snap a photo for documentation - it would be like seeing the abominable snowman or Sasquatch. Daniel's mood today is happy, you can almost guarantee, no matter what happens to be going on in his life at the time. He is the definition of a happy camper.
Optimism rules Daniel's life with an iron fist. It is very hard for the boy to doubt anyone or anything, at any time, ever. He will believe in the best, even while being spat in the face. This causes people to mistake the boy for naive; however, Daniel's gullibility does not arise from the fact that he doesn't know better. He simply chooses to believe in the good, rather than shoot for the bad. Unfortunately, this often allows for people to take advantage of the poor thing, as he will never say no to a friend.
There does not appear to be a mean bone in Daniel's body. Chances are, if you run into him, he will apologize for being in your path. In order to stir the wrath of Daniel, you would have to commit a heinous crime not fit for the eyes of the general public. Truthfully, there is little that will upset Daniel to the point of an argument. This isn't to say that he is a saint and is never annoyed, but he is an expert in keeping his mouth shut and swallowing his irritation.
Daniel is a hopeless romantic. He believes in the beautiful love stories presented in literature, and is patiently waiting for his true love to come and sweep him off of his feet (or perhaps sweep his true love off of their feet - either way). He believes in magic, fairy tales, and flight of the soul, which is one of the reasons he is so often associated with joy. Like a child, Daniel wants all of those over-the-top stories to come true, and believes with every fiber of his being that they will.
Lastly, the boy is plagued with what seems like incurable ADHD - even his medication does not appear to be working very well at times. He can often be found day-dreaming or loosing his train of thought mid-sentence.

Rubber soles meet the cool, gray pavement. Skippy, joyous steps carry a surprisingly light body from point A to point B. A brilliant smile reveals itself on pallid skin, shiny silver peeking out of almost every crevice of the face, one so pure and beautiful it resembles a child. Innocence bottled in an older body - truly something to be amazed by. Orange, red, gold, and dingy brown leaves running past those rubber soles, in between high heels and sneakers, and everything in between. The cool autumn breeze lightly tugs on black strands of hair, and the randomly interjected blonde streaks.
Daniel walks a happy step in his gait, down the side walk of downtown West Chester. His destination: Java. Daniel was addicted to caffeine, mainly in the form of coffee, thus his current journey. Bethanie was already gone and out of the house, leaving him to travel by himself for the first time. His day had started out beautifully. The warm sun shining brilliantly through his window, lighting the entire room around seven o’clock. His warm brown eyes light up to meet the newly risen sun, and the first thing he thought of was coffee. Of course, he hadn’t actually managed to get a cup yet.
Along with Bethanie, the boy had already downed a whole bag of fresh coffee, meaning they would have to go shopping soon. Until then, Daniel would have to make frequent trips to Java in order to keep his cravings under control. Bethanie had some date with a guy she had picked up a couple of days ago. Daniel still hadn’t met him, nor had she bothered to mention his name - just some mystery guy that probably had a lot of friends on SceneSpot. After all, Bethanie was currently working her ass off to be popular, something Daniel had little interest in.
He was extremely friendly, though, and was quick to turn acquaintances into friends. A warm smile, ready laugh, and unwavering trust made him an easy companion to be around. Rarely, he would be in a negative mood, and that usually took tons of prompting. For instance, if he had been dumped, he might be melancholy for the next few days, but quickly returned to his bouncy, joyous self. This had been the case with his last boyfriend; however, now, he seemed perfectly fine, bubbly as always.
Especially now, practically skipping down the boulevard, his appearance the stuff of movies.
Daniel was plainly dressed; skinny jeans, an old, plain white t-shirt, and an unzipped black hoodie, with no decoration. It was cold enough for a light jacket, but was not cold enough to zip and bundle up. Daniel wore all of his piercings in today. Snake bites, labret, Monroe, septum, smiley, bridge, you get the idea. The shiny metal might be a little overboard for some, but he had to have at least some piercings in, lest he feel naked in front of everyone.
Daniel reaches the coffee shop at some time around nine; he had no watch with him, his cell phone was resting in his pocket, and he had left his laptop at home. Just based on the time he left the house, though, he guessed it to be some time close to 9:15. He walked in, the little bells above the door jingling to let the employees know he had arrived. He quietly steps into line, a slight smile still worn on his face.
Chai tea latte, caramel macchiato… what to get? His mind is mulling this over as he stands, hands lazily at his side, head tilted upward to the board, and hip slightly jutted out to even his center of gravity. He probably would topple over if he didn’t do that; he wasn’t the most graceful person in the world. The girl in front of him taps his shoulder slightly. “It’s your turn,” she says quietly. “Oh, thanks!” he says exuberantly, stepping forward to the cash register.
“One grande caramel macchiato, please,” he says politely to the cashier, digging out a ten dollar bill from the wallet in his back pocket. “Put the change towards the next order.” A smile creeps up on his face again, and he slides down to where the order pick up is, his body leaning lightly on the counter, his mind already running away with him. He is still absent mindedly holding his wallet when his order comes up.
“Thank you,” he says with a smile to the girl on the opposite end of the counter. He turns to one of the many three seating tables, placing his coffee lightly upon the top before stuffing his wallet back into his pocket. He plops himself down in the seat, takes a sip of his coffee and treats himself to a sigh. Today was going to be wonderful, he could just feel it.
