Life was going pretty well lately. Mika was finally in a steady schedule that was peaceful and she was happy with it. Her week consisted of: Monday through Friday, work from six in the morning to eight in the morning, go to class until four, then work from four thirty to eight at night. Weekends she was off but was either swamped with college homework, or she would take up a few extra hours at work or would be baking and knitting. Tonight was Friday night, and Mika was rather comfortable with her plans. No work this weekend, so she'd do her homework Saturday and Sunday... While baking of course. She had made chicken and rice for one. Liam usually fed himself, just like how Mika fed herself. She had just finished eating, the radio was playing on low in the background and she was washing the dishes she didn't have time to do the past couple of days. Even though he wasn't hers, Mika kept an eye out for Mr. Tickles. She liked his company, in all honesty. He was a quiet cat and didn't bother her or invade her personal space. Mika would sometimes "accidentally" drop a small piece of chicken or some tuna when he was around and Liam wasn't. This made her notice the cat a little more alert whenever the stove turned on. She dried her hands off and started the dish washer, the quiet hum taking over the room as it flooded over the music just enough to make the lyrics difficult to hear.
Mika turned up the radio and very quietly sang along, leaning back against the counter and watching the cat make his way around the area. Probably for somewhere to sleep. He was so pretty. His fur was shiny but looked so soft, and he walked so smooth and with grace. Even hopping from one spot to another (which Mika didn't see too often) he was very quiet. Maybe it was admiration. Mika wasn't particularly graceful, especially in the coming winter months. She sighed and wiped her still slightly damp hands on her off-white apron. The one she wore while cleaning only. Her hair was up in a rough ponytail and she had her work uniform on underneath. She didn't bother with changing right away since she'd be up for a while. She crossed her arms, contemplating what she'd do for the next few hours.

The best thing about working at the Live Lounge, Liam had decided, was the amount of cute girls who frequented the place. Usually, he chatted them up while taking their orders, and once in a while he would hang around after his shift to see if he couldn't get any. He'd never taken one back to his apartment before, though. Mostly because of how he'd acted when Mika did that with Jason - he didn't want to have that conversation again. However, it had been a few months since that whole fiasco, and when the girl of his current affections mentioned they couldn't go back to her place because her room mate was studying (or had work tomorrow, or something, Liam wasn't sure), he decided it was time he test the room mate boundaries with Mika. They arrived late. It had been at least an hour since the end of his shift, and he led the rather intoxicated blonde bombshell to the door, hoping Mika would just happen to be out somewhere.
Danielle was her name, he was fairly sure of it. Dani for short. She was all cleavage, mascara and california-yellow hair: the kind of girl that was fun for one night, but with the personality of a really dumb, hyper, clingy dish rag. To be fair, Dani seemed at least a bit more aware of what she was doing than most of the girls in her 'category,' which was why Liam had even dared to show her where he lived in the first place. Not that she'd even remember, if he managed to get rid of her before she sobered up. Whatever; they were here now, and it was all he could do to keep her from ripping his clothes off as he tried to unlock the door. At least, that's what he told himself, though she was more clinging awkwardly to his shirt because she couldn't stand up straight in those heels.
Finally, he got them both inside, casting a quick glance around. He'd mentioned his room mate to Dani, saying she was a 'great girl' and that she would 'probably be fine with everything,' but 'if not, don't worry, she's probably just tired because she's been working all day.' As quietly as possible, he shut the door, looking into the living room but not seeing any sign of Mika there. Dani was not aware of the quietness and care required in this matter at all, grabbing his face and pulling him in for a deep kiss. Figuring that, at least, Mika wasn't sitting right there watching him, Liam gave in, sliding his hands down to her bum and planning the quickest route to the bedroom.
ooc. I should make her a legit character

After sitting in the silence for a while, Mika decided maybe she'd rummage through one of the only boxes she hadn't unpacked. It was full of old books and crafts. Maybe she could start a scrap book. But what fun would that be? What would be so memorable in her current life? Maybe a scrap book and part recipe book? Instead of pictures of families having fun on holidays it could be pictures of her backing with a note of ingredients and recipes. She sighed a little. Tonight she was feeling a little more lonely than usual. She hadn't spoken to her grandma since just after Liam moved in. Her grandma didn't find it a good idea to have a male roommate. Then again grandma never liked boys around Mika. Which was understandable, considering what all had happened to her mom.
Just as the thought ran through her head, Mika heard the lock and then the door. She didn't want to look too eager to see him and bolt out and start annoying him right away. So instead she just kind of sat there and watched Mr. Tickles. She smiled a little and walked to the arch way of the kitchen. What she saw caught her off guard, and she stopped roughly, having to catch herself a little with one hand on the wall. Her smile instantly faded and she stared. Who... was that? She was all over Liam. Some part of Mika hurt. She took it as anger. Liam hadn't even introduced this... this SKANK! and here they were in HER apartment sucking face!!! Mika quickly hid behind the wall that separated the kitchen from the living room and put her hand over her mouth. She didn't know what to do. What if.. they started... doing it? On the couch? She didn't want to bolt across the living room to get to the other side... to her room! Mika looked around for Mr. Tickles, she needed something alive but completely calm to help her nerves. But Mr. Tickles was nowhere. Mika frowned and sighed a little, deciding to step out from behind the wall and a little into the living room. At least, even if they didn't see her, she could make a smooth exit to her room. She couldn't move once her eyes were back on the two, though. She just kind of stood there, humble. Like a six year old child introducing themself to the class on their first day of kindergarten. If nobody noticed her for a moment, or if things got... too heavy... Mika would run to her room, having to cope without an introduction.

Things were going fairly well, if Liam did say so himself. Nobody had thrown up, or even fallen down, and Mika was nowhere to be seen. Plus, Dani was an excellent kisser. Had he been interested in any real conversation with her, at all, ever, Liam would have made a mental note to ask whether her tongue was double-jointed. As it was, he simply enjoyed the long moment of making out, as well as the feeling of her being all pressed up against him. In fact, all thoughts of Mika had completely escaped his mind. Until, of course, he came up for air and opened his eyes. And there she was. Standing in her dirty apron, her hair pulled up haphazardly into what might pass as a pony tail, looking... well, pathetic was the word that popped into his head first. For a moment, Liam just met Mika's gaze, trying to figure out what was going on inside her head. Then, as Dani moved in for another kiss (not realizing what was going on over the top of her head), Liam pulled away, running a hand through his dishevelled hair. "Oh, hey!" he greeted his friend, inexplicably cheerful. Dani turned around, still holding Liam's should for support and looking more confused than anything.
"Danielle, this is Mika, my room mate," Liam said, speaking to his 'date' as if addressing a child. Dani nodded, grinning widely. Stupidly. Liam ignored this. "Mika," he returned his attention to the angry girl in front of them, "this is Dani. My..." he drifted off, not really sure what to call her. One night stand? Quick fling? He couldn't just go out and say that kind of thing before they had sex. "My little... blonde... bundle of wonder!" He wrapped an arm around her shoulder, giving it a quick squeeze. Dani giggled, barely paying attention to Mika for more than a moment before attacking Liam's neck with her mouth. Liam gave Mika a sheepish grin; one that somehow said 'payback's a bitch' while still appearing boyishly ashamed. He didn't want to do this to her... he just had to. To show her what it was like.

Catching Liam's eyes, Mika didn't move or change the look on her face. What started as humble and sad, Mika now had a tightness to her lips, a quirk to her brow and a small line would form between them as she looked the blonde girl over. Hearing Liam speak, Mika looked over at him, not moving her head. As Liam introduced them, Mika said nothing. The feelings inside her went wild. Anger for what he was doing to himself, hurt for how he was so okay with everything. Jealousy for someone so... unworthy taking up what should be HER time spent with Liam. The intense hurt in her chest grew as the feeling of loneliness took over. Tonight she would sleep alone in her own bed. For the first time since Jason left her. Alone... Her lips tightened into a small pout that she had not realized she was doing. She kept her eyes down as she thought, but as Liam seemed to introduce Dani as what she was to him, her attention was suddenly a little more alert in her eyes.
His what? Once again, Mika looked Dani over and the line between her eyebrows appeared, only to quickly disappear as Mika looked back at Liam. "Okay." Was all she could say at the moment... She heard her own voice shake, not to mention feeling the tightness in her throat. She was hurt. The grin Liam threw her made her sink her head low a little, and Mika turned and slowly walked past them. She paused and looked at Liam, pretending her eyes weren't watering up. "I'll go ahead and leave you alone then..." She quickly turned around and walked to her room. Closing the door, Mika pressed her back against it as if an angry mob had been chasing her. She let out a couple of dry sobs, only one tear dropping straight from her eye to the thick carpet. She wiped her eye and locked her door, sitting on her bed and pulling the books out of her bag... She'd have to find her headphones in case things got too noisy.

There was definitely something going down right now. Liam almost began to sweat, watching Mika's eyes drift over Dani. One thing was for certain: he was in deep, deep shit. Of course, he wasn't that concerned; he could handle her, and if she fought him? Well, like he'd always said: she needed to grow a spine. In fact, he welcomed her anger. It was a refreshing change from her normal, passive demeanour. So, ignoring her obviously upset expression with apparent ease, Liam carried on with his introductions. Dani, fortunately, was oblivious to all of it. God forbid she realize how awkward everything was and decide to leave. After about two seconds, Liam lost track of the emotion in Mika's eyes - all he had left to go by was her little pout, which only made her seem more pathetic. In fact, he almost felt bad. Not for what he was doing, but for what a poor sport she was being. Obviously. He would never feel bad about giving anyone a taste of their own medicine.
At Mika's simple 'okay,' Liam gave her a nod, glad that they'd reached that agreement. It was a bit of a strange moment, what with Dani trying to get at his lips again. However, all the distraction of his companion couldn't keep him from noting the wobble in Mika's voice, the suspicious shine of her eyes as she gave him one last look over her shoulder. Unlike Liam, Mika was not a fighter. No, Mika was much more clever than that. Mika pretended she was okay with things when, really, she wasn't, which made you feel guilty and satanic and just generally awful. A real mood killer, to say the least, but Liam was determined to follow through with his plan. So, he steeled himself up. "Thanks, Mika. You're a doll," he replied, though his words were empty, laced with sarcasm.
Just before Mika got into the safety of her room, Liam said to Dani - just loudly enough for his room mate to hear - "come on, my bed's this way." Rubbing salt on the wound. Not only was he mad at Mika for bringing James (or whatever the hell his name was) over and keeping him up all night, he was also mad at her for making him feel bad about taking Dani home. "Don't worry about keeping it down, either," Liam told his blonde bundle of fun, escaping from her kisses in order to mumble those final words. However, about five minutes later, all thoughts of revenge were forgotten. He had to hand it to this ditz - she was good. By the time he finally offered to take her home (or, rather, forced her out the door and into his car and onto the street in front of her house), the sky was beginning to lighten. He returned home, and fell asleep within seconds.
Liam wasn't sure what time it was when he woke up, only that he felt both alive and uncertain all at once. It would probably be a bummer of a morning. He rolled out of bed, pulling on some pyjama pants (which he'd invested in when Mika decided to start taking over his bed) and heading for the kitchen. His hair was a bit more messed up than usual, and his smirk a bit more noticeable, as he poured himself some orange juice. Mr. Tickles rubbed against his legs, looking up at him and purring quietly. "You want some food, do you, sir?" Liam asked, placing his glass on the counter and petting the cat. Mr. Tickles accepted the affection impatiently, scurrying over to his bowl, then coming back when he realized it hadn't magically filled itself. "Just a minute. Patience is a virtue, you know," Liam opened the cupboard, reaching for a can of Iams and wondering whether Mika was awake yet.

Mika was awake, alright. In fact, she had done all of her work for the next week over night. She skipped trying to sleep, coming to the conclusion Liam was doing this to her for a reason. He seemed to have reasons behind what he did... Whether or not Mika found out what they were, she realized that most of the time she did deserve them. This time, though, was a bit different. Mika felt really hurt over the whole thing. She didn't know what to do. She honestly felt like packing his things into trash bags, tossing it on top of his car with a sticky note that said Good Luck with Dani! But of course, Mika could never do that. She spent the night doing her homework, wanting to cry from anger but not being able to, and listening to music with her hands over her earbuds.
As the light pushed through her windows curtains, Mika finally removed the earbuds. Her ears hurt from having them in so long, and her eyes hurt from staying open for so long. She got up and headed for the bathroom, taking a risk by looking into the door that led to Liam's room, which was ajar. It was empty. Mika quickly brushed her teeth and hid back in her room for a little longer before she heard what sounded like only Liam and Mr. Tickles. It took her a long while to get the courage to open the door, let alone step out. Mika wore her usual faded gray pajama tank top and her dark green and black plaid pajama pants, only to be topped off with her light brown fuzzy slippers. Her hair had officially fallen out of the band that once kept it up, and there were somewhat dark tinted rings under her puffy eyes. She didn't once look at Liam. In fact, she was going to give him a taste of his own medicine! The silent treatment! Mika got a glass of water, drank it, and filled it back up. She turned and grabbed the bread that she had made, cut two slices quietly (but with very much anger behind that knife) and shoved them in the toaster. She then grabbed the butter and set it on the table, the knife still in her hand. Mika turned around and, like she always did, leaned her backside against the counter. She sipped at the cup, not quite ready for coffee, and looked over at Mr. Tickles. It all went down to who fed him last, really... She sighed, turning and pulling the newly toasted slices of bread out and set them on a paper towel on the counter, putting very little butter on them before stacking them and leaving the room, her back to Liam as much as she could have it.
She had to get out of the kitchen, was all. She couldn't be in there knowing... what he had done. It was all on purpose. Not to mention something Mika had done triggered Liam to act this way. She sat on the couch, snuggling her crossed legs close to her chest like she usually would in the morning, and set her drink on the side table, folding a piece of toast in half and eating it like a toaster-burn sandwich. She stared down at the ground. Her toes flexed and flicked in her slippers. If she were a cat, she would be twitching her tail in a way that said she was very agitated right now. She sighed, not really hungry for anything. She never was hungry in the mornings.

Liam didn't even hear Mika come into the room. In fact, it was a wonder he didn't yelp in surprise as he emerged from the cupboard, cat food in hand, to find her standing right there. It took all of two seconds for him to realize that she was carefully avoiding looking at him. Still, he said, "morning," trying to pretend like he hadn't even noticed. Apparently, he wasn't the only one who could play at the medicine game. Great. He opened a drawer, extracting a spoon with which to scoop Mr. Tickles' food onto the plate. Mr. Tickles's purring intensified as he watched this act, then disappeared completely, replaced by the sound of him stuffing his cat face. Liam's eyes lingered on his pet for a moment. He was almost afraid to acknowledge Mika's presence... if he did, it would mean he'd done something wrong, and he definitely had not. However, when he heard the soft but angry sound of a knife being used, he couldn't help but glance over at her.
Now, he was faced with a conundrum: try to apologize, or just let her tire herself out with all her negative thoughts. Somehow, Liam couldn't really bring himself to say the words, 'I'm sorry.' Especially when he wasn't. Well, not really. As his room mate leaned against the counter, he mimicked her position on the other side of the kitchen, watching her watch Mr. Tickles. Mr. Tickles, of course, had no idea what was going on, happily chowing down in the tangible silence surrounding him. Liam stayed in his position as Mika buttered her toast and left the room. Well, he thought, taking another sip of orange juice, what to do? At length, he poured himself a bowl of cereal, then followed in the direction Mika had gone.
He found her right where he expected her to be: on the couch, looking sorry for herself. "Good toast?" he asked, cereal in one hand, orange juice in the other. He moved to the other end of the couch, sitting down carefully and placing his breakfast on the coffee table. Normally, he would have turned the TV on out of habit. But today, he only sat, still watching his friend with a contemplative look on his face.
ooc. Something's gonna go down, man.

The way Liam greeted her was just a little too happy. That skank probably did something really slutty for him. First night though, right? How many times would Liam bring her around? How long would Mika be able to tolerate the immature way Liam told Mika "I didn't like what you did, and I don't forgive you". Even the sound of Mr. Tickles eating ticked her off more. She wanted silence, she wanted to be completely alone. Actually, that's exactly the opposite of what she wanted. She was afraid that somehow Liam would befriend that fake hoe and start spending all of his time with her. Maybe even move out. The fear would start as sadness in her heart, but quickly twist into anger. Why would Liam go to someone so... so low? So in conclusion, leaving the kitchen with her toast was the best decision for Mika to mentally handle and keep her composure at the same time.
She half-expected Liam to come out and sit in the room with her, too. But still, she was surprised. THE NERVE! Mika finished one piece of her toast, taking a drink and hearing Liam. She didn't bother answering him. Of course it was good. She made it herself. She stared out to nowhere, those little signs of anger coming back out. Her quirked brow, her lips were thinned out a little from holding back any lash-outs. Mika couldn't stand this silent treatment. The reason Liam did it was because it worked. Liam knew how to do the silent treatment, and Mika was an utter failure at it. She let out a small sigh after swallowing her first bite of the second piece of toast. "Why would you do that?" She looked at him, the look of anger equally mixed with the look of hurt in her eyes. "What did I do this time to make you do that?" She clarified her question. There was an intense clarity to her words, another sign she was full of hormonal jealous anger. Okay, so Mika couldn't do the silent treatment. But she knew there was something she could do to piss Liam back off. This may not be a good way to settle a disagreement, though. Immaturely taking something away that will make things only more tense and angry in the household. This wasn't good for... the cat. Mika was always raised to go out of her way to keep the peace, but this time she was livid. That skanky hoe all over Liam the way she was... She knew exactly what she was doing, you could just see it. Mika frowned and took another bite of her toast.

Liam waited a moment, to see if Mika would answer. When she didn't, he reached for his bowl of cereal, eyes never leaving her face. He lifted a spoonful slowly to his mouth, careful to crunch it quite loudly, just to bother her a little bit more. His plan right now was to give her his full attention until she got so uncomfortable that she decided to either hide in her room, or give up and start talking. Not surprisingly, it didn't take long for her to crack. Liam was an expert at this sort of thing, and could usually win in such battles of patience and cunning - the current incident was no different. He waited a short while to answer her question, chewing slowly as if deep in thought. "Well," he spoke finally, taking a second to swallow, "I probably did it for the same reason any guy would have done it. Let's think for a minute here..." He set his bowl down, crossing his legs awkwardly on the couch (it was difficult, because they were so long) and facing Mika. "Why would a nineteen-year-old person, of the male variety, bring a girl back home?" He placed a contemplative finger on the tip of his chin, tilting his head a bit to the right and casting his gaze upward. Then, he jumped as if struck by a sudden idea. "Oh, I know! Testosterone! I can't just sit around not having sex all the time, Mika. I'll explode. It's scientifically proven." It wasn't, and they both knew that, but he was kind of on a roll.
Her second question was significantly more difficult to make a mockery of. He could go one of two ways: say it had nothing to do with her, or say it was because of Jason. Either way, she would be sad, which sucked; Liam wanted to see her angry. "What makes you think you've done anything?" he asked, going about the whole thing quite carefully. "Why do you care so much? We weren't half as loud as you and Tyr- I mean, Jason." Quite pleased with himself for managing to keep both options open, Liam ate another spoonful of cereal, trying not to appear too triumphant yet. For all he knew, she could have a hidden trick or two up her sleeve. An ocean of tears, a notice of eviction. Just in case, he began to consider his next move, eyeing his friend all the while.
ooc. yeah you do.

The sarcasm Liam gave was not appreciated. Mika scoffed a little bit, finishing her toast and taking a drink as she tried her best to stay patient, and listen to Liam explain himself. The mere mention of Jason brought her full attention to Liam. The way he was so okay with it, like he was expecting her to just laugh along and be completely okay. She was obviously still hurt from being broken up with, and now that she realized Liam had done this because of that night with Jason, Mika was all over the place. She was angry and upset and just so taken back from THAT being the reason Liam had done all of this. "THAT'S why?! Because that ONE night with Jason?" She looked around the room, holding herself back from breaking down in tears. "I thought you forgave me from that, Liam!" She was standing now, shifting uncomfortably back and forth. "If you had a problem with it you should have just talked to me about it! Instead you bring some... some HOE back from work, drunk! I... I cannot believe how selfish and immature you are!" She couldn't handle just sitting there anymore. Mika hated the way he was just chewing away on his stupid cereal like everything was okay.
She took a step forward and smacked just beside Liam's hand on the bowl of cereal, smacking it just hard enough to hopefully drop out of his hand and miss him, but fall to the ground beside him. But that didn't feel like enough. Mika felt like Liam maybe needed to see how angry she really was. And by now, Mika was not herself. She was furious. This wasn't about the skank he brought home anymore, it was about how many times he upset her and she pretended she didn't notice the way he took advantage of how nice she was. Mika brought her hand up and slapped Liam across the face. It wasn't a very hard smack. In fact, Mika had tried to stop herself just before hitting him, but failed. Instead, her fingers smacked him mostly, but it was hard enough to make a smacking sound. Mika immediately jumped back, tears finally falling from her eyes. "You're such a jerk, Liam! You take everything I do for you for granted and it's getting so hard to care about what you want anymore!" And, average Mika was back out. She quickly turned and nearly ran into her room sobbing. What had she just done? And said? She instantly regretted it all, but she couldn't stop and apologize now. Mika slid onto her knees on her bed, not bothering to close the door. She was okay if Liam came in and talked to her. She was calm now, it was out. She knew she could be civil now and leaving the door wide open left an invitation for him to come in if he really wanted.

As soon as he mentioned Jason, Liam saw Mika's demeanour change. There it was: the trigger. Forget his 'next move,' he'd done everything he'd intended to do with just one reference. Now, he was paying Mika more attention than he ever had before, almost frightened to blink for fear of missing something exciting. He didn't even defend himself by saying he'd given her a perfectly legitimate, alternate reason to the Jason one. When she stood up, his eyes widened. He looked very much like Mr. Tickles, watching a large moth flap around the house, waiting to pounce the second it got close enough. Except his moth was Mika, and he didn't so much want to kill her as see what she did next. "At least I wasn't drunk!" The words popped out of him before he realized what was happening. And there it was. The admission. Jason was the reason he'd done this, one-hundred percent, and no, he hadn't ever really forgiven Mika. But this was no time to worry about his small slip of the tongue, the clear display of feelings he usually kept bottled. Too many things were happening all at once, and he was still trying not to smirk at the fact she'd said 'hoe.'
When Mika smacked the cereal out of his hands, Liam's jaw dropped to the floor along with his barely-eaten cornflakes. In fact, the whole thing could have happened in slow motion for the amount of time it took him to understand what was going on. He'd done it! He'd actually made Mika angry! He barely felt the pain of her slap, though he did turn his head a bit to the side to avoid the full brunt of the impact. He felt delighted. A bit offended, maybe, but incredibly proud of himself. Her angry - angry! - words rolled over him like a cool breeze on a hot summer's day, settling into the back of his mind: the trophy rewarding his efforts. Had she not started sobbing almost immediately, Liam would have proclaimed his victory then and there, with a 'not so nice and wonderful now, are we?' or perhaps, 'that's right, feel something for once in your life!' As it was, he didn't want to push his luck. He knew it was only a matter of time before her tears paid off; if there was one thing he couldn't stand, it was girls crying. Not because he was a compassionate person, but because it annoyed the hell out of him. That was the only reason he didn't grab another bowl of cereal, clean up the mess she'd made, and sat down to watch TV.
Instead, he brushed himself off. Placed his empty bowl on the table. Chugged the rest of his orange juice. Stood up. Mentally prepared himself for the ridiculous self-sacrifice he was about to make. At least, he told himself, she'd actually yelled at him. Actually hit him, before running off and turning into a blubbering idiot.
As usual, Mika was curled up on her bed. Liam leaned in the doorway for a moment, watching her curiously. How could anybody have so many sad feelings? How could anybody show them so willingly? He moved forward, sitting on her bed and crossing his legs again, leaning against the pillows. "You said a bad word," he told her, trying not to laugh. That probably wasn't the best way to make her stop sobbing, though, so he also went in for a shoulder pat. "I'm, um..." he tried to get the word out. He really did. But it wouldn't come. Sorry had a habit of sticking in his throat, so he cleared it, pressing his lips together before continuing. "I'm not dating her or anything. She's too..." he took a deep breath, trying to figure out the right way to put it, "much."
ooc. She's such a friggin' sissy.

Most of the reason Mika was sobbing now was the lack of sleep she had that night before. She had her comforter smushed up in her lap and had it neatly folded over her hands, with her face hiding in it. She paused momentarily as she felt Liam sit beside her, somewhat better now that she knew he wasn't utterly pissed off. But his comment, once again offensively casual, made Mika shudder in sobs. "I know, I know." She said weakly, still hiding her face from him. She paused sobbing once again, finally looking over at him as it seemed he was about to apologize, but was soon disappointed to the way his words retreated. Mika wiped her eyes against the blanket, suddenly not crying anymore and watched over at him. She made a face, one that looked like she was about to start crying again, but it faded and she took a breath to speak. " I guess I was just upset at how you did it... I mean I thought... I didn't think you would do something like that, I guess." Mika thought the world of Liam. He was the cats meow, the bee's knees. He was everything she wasn't, and there was some sort of admiration Mika had about him. She actually gave a real crap about what he was doing and how he was treating himself. She cared if he was happy or not, and Liam was always first to her. "I guess I was just a little hurt when I didn't even get a 'hello'... I just walked in and... she was all over you..." A tinge of jealousy hit her eyes, but she didn't realize what it was. She wiped them again and sighed.
"And that's the thing, I guess..." She quickly added as the thought came up. "I really didn't mean to upset you, that time with Jason... I had been dating him for about a month and we were both drunk. I'm still sorry about that." She felt her voice crack a little, and her eyes watered up. She was very hormonal today. Mika wiped her eyes and sighed. "I just wish we could put this in the past... " She said quietly, pulling her knee's up to her chest and resting her chin on top of them.

Liam couldn't help but smile at her, 'I know, I know.' It wasn't a cruel smile, though - it was softer, genuinely amused. However, as soon as he realized what he was doing, he quickly tried to change his expression to one serious, concerned and innocent all at once. God forbid she catch him in a moment of truth. He ignored her disappointment at his lack of an apology. He'd only ever given her one, after the Jason incident, and felt that that was quite enough for one year. As Mika continued speaking, Liam nodded, acting as sympathetic as possible. "How I... brought a girl home?" he asked, frowning. She wasn't making much sense. Or maybe he was getting distracted by her damn mood. When she elaborated, he took his hand off her shoulder, leaning back and making himself comfortable. "Well, I didn't see you when we first came in. I did look, to make sure you weren't sitting there in the living room..." He drifted off, not quite wanting to upset her again but not quite wanting to let the subject go, either. Hoping to steer the conversation onto a less intense level, he grinned. "I can't help it if I'm just that irresistible." Knowing Mika, she wouldn't find that funny in the least, but at least he was trying.
Unfortunately, the subject of Jason came up yet again. Honestly, if Liam heard that name one more time he would actually consider putting his fist through the wall. Not only did he have more muscles than anyone should ever be allowed (and a ridiculously deep voice, to boot), but he'd also broken Mika's heart for no good reason and left Liam to pick up the pieces. To make himself feel better, Liam groaned and rolled his eyes. "That douche," he spat, "at least... um... D... Dani wasn't a complete bitch. She's really okay when she's not wasted." Why he felt like defending a girl he'd known for less than twenty-four hours, he didn't know, but he didn't feel it was necessary to compare her to Jason. "But now we can put it in the past, right? Now that we're..." he was about to say 'even,' but thought better of it. "Now that we've talked about it." If you could even call that talking. For Liam, though, it felt like a full-on therapy session.

Mika was satisfied they could put all of this in the past. It was like a fresh plate. Unfortunately, Mika couldn't get that Dani off her mind. That skanky hoe! All over Liam like that. In fact, Mika was so upset over the whole thing, she didn't put any of it in the past. She just stopped mentioning it and kept to herself a little more. This disturbance in Mika's happy old lady life effected her and the people around her, though. She wasn't as on top of things at work as she should be. And instead of baking, Mika hid in the back of the library after class and did her homework. That's right, Mika stopped baking. She didn't bother looking up new recipes for the time being. There were other things to do. Besides, Liam seemed to have plenty of girls in his life that could bake for him. Because he was just that irresistible. If he was so irresistible then he should snap his irresistible fingers and tell one of his slutty skanks to bake something for his irresistible face to stuff. She sighed and closed her biology book. Mika was sitting cross legged on her bed, as usual. It was too early to be evening, but too late to be noon. She was wearing her little old lady robe, but no pants. Actually, she had nothing on underneath. Mika felt like going for a shower, but was trying to get the motivation to actually go take it. She walked out into the kitchen and got a drink of water, leaning back against the counter and staring out to nothing.
