[/COLOR][/B]: Dean is pretty tall standing at 6'1. He has some muscular tone to him, but he still has somewhat of a lanky frame. Outside of work he is usually in something casual and his messy brown hair and usual five o'clock shadow add to it. Although, when he's on the clock he cleans up rather nicely since he takes his job seriously and attempts to look as official as possible. He has a scar that extends from the bottom of his left eye to his cheek from a knife wound when he had tried to arrest a tweaked out coke head. He also has a tattoo on his left side on his rib cage, that quotes "the strong are strongest alone."
personality: Dean is a really nice guy, but he doesn't go out of his way to let everyone know that. If you want to get to know him it won't be really easy at first since he mainly tries to keep to himself. He doesn't trust very easily because of his mom leaving and his dad finding comfort in a liquor bottle. Although, he can become quite outspoken when talking about things he believes strongly in. His sense of right and wrong define his life a lot, which has probably kept him away from many fun opportunities, but he definitely doesn't regret doing the right thing. He can also be quite charming when he has an incentive, but he hasn't really found a girl that has caught his eye and piqued his interest in a long time. He is normally level headed and doesn't let his temper get the best of him, but if pushed far enough, or if he let himself drink a few too many, it's not that easy to contain for him. He doesn't like to lose control of his temper so that's why it's rarely ever seen, but when it does there is usually a trail of destruction left behind him.
likes: simplicity, darts, pool, being a cop, hearing from his siblings, a beer after work, Baker's Pub, doing the right thing.
dislikes: drama, complications, smoking, big crowds, donuts, hockey, baseball, and tea.
strengths: Independent, Strong moral compass, great instincts, good at calming people down, good at taking command of a situation.
weaknesses: Alcohol (although he tries his best it still gets the best of him at times), keeps everything bad in his life to himself until he can't hold it in any longer, has trust issues, stubborn in his ways, and can be a bit introverted in his personal life.

brief history: If anyone were to describe Dean in one word it would be simple. He sure likes his simplicity and after his chaotic childhood it's easily understood, except that Dean doesn't like to divulge his past to anyone. He's more of a strong, silent type and his occupation as a cop helps him display this.

Dean has moved to Jacksonville in hopes of ridding himself of his family's reputation. His mother was known for her gold digging ways. It was a shock that she managed to stay with Dean's dad long enough to have three kids together. His family may have been dysfunctional (and that would be a huge understatement), but they were still a family, one unit as a whole. Well that was until Dean's father lost his job and his mother wasn't willing to trade in the diamonds, or the expensive car. So she left the Gallagher's and the last Dean saw of her she had zoomed off in some fancy car with some rich bastard.

The rest of Dean's childhood went by quickly because he was forced to grow up and help his dad out with his siblings. He started working to help pay the bills at fifteen and since part time pay wouldn't cut it, he had to drop out of school and work full time. His father was grateful for everything Dean did, but didn't approve of him not going to school. So while Dean was at home his father would often sit him down and just talk to him about life. Dean was taught to have a strong sense of what was right and what was wrong. He learned things from all of his father's talks, which kept Dean on the right path instead of veering off into a life of delinquency, which wouldn't have been very hard to do in Chicago.

When he turned eighteen though he began to notice a change in his father's behavior. The happy-go-lucky guy became depressed and withdrawn. Dean began to work two jobs because it seemed as if his father had given up on going to his own job. Dean knew he had turned to the bottle, but did his best to hide it from everyone else. He would have to clean up after him and drag him to bed every night just to ensure that his siblings wouldn't see their dad like this. They couldn't know he had given up on himself and them. After a year or two Dean couldn't take the life he was living. He hadn't been able to live for himself for as long as he could remember. So he split, but not before he got his brother and sister to their aunt out in Springfield.

Dean took the money he had saved and got himself his GED. He had finally decided what he wanted in life. He wanted to keep the world from getting as dark as his had in the past. He needed to prevent bad things from happening to anyone else like him, or his siblings. So, what was the best way to prevent bad things from happening and upholding what was right in the world? Well, he first started with superhero, but obviously that wasn't an option so he came up with becoming a cop and he was going to be the best damn cop he could be. He went through the schooling necessary and after graduating, now at the age of twenty two, he decided that all he wanted was simplicity. He had, had too much city life and decided to find a police department in a town, rather than the busy life of Chicago. So, he settled for Jacksonville and is striving to be one of the best cops on the force. He keeps to himself mostly, does his job well, and repeats it day in and day out. He does have a life outside of his job, but it's to a select crowd at his favorite bar in town. He gets along with the other hardworking and respectable people that are considered regulars there. He likes to drink (though he always keeps an eye on how much because he would never dream of becoming anything like his father after he gave up), play pool, and watch sports. It's the simple things that keep him going and right now his life is exactly how he likes it. [/ul][/SIZE][/FONT]
