personality: Haley is bubbly, genuine, intelligent, honest, and extremely friendly. She’s a bit of a flirt, but definitely isn’t one-night-stand material; Haley mostly dates and has had only a few real relationships that were short because of her fear of commitment. She has a sarcastic sense of humor and absolutely loves witty banter. She’s also a bit of a tomboy and loves sports.

dislikes: male chauvinism, arrogance, materialism, douchebag guys who just want to get in her pants, the color pink.
strengths: kind, loyal, outgoing, athletic.
weaknesses: fear of commitment/love, sometimes too friendly for her own good, hates hurting people’s feelings, mathematics.

father: Thomas Rivers (45) - founder/CEO of consulting firm.
siblings: Connor Rivers (12) - brother.
significant other (s): none.
pets: Cody, 2 year old golden retriever that lives with her.
hometown: Orange County, California.
brief history: Haley’s fear of commitment stems from her parents’ relationship and the environment that she grew up in. Ever since she was little, her parents seemed to always be fighting. Her father is a tad chauvinistic and has a short fuse; her mother is an attractive flirt and very manipulative as well as controlling. She was always caught in the middle between the two, hearing nearly opposite sides to every story and thus grew up with the idea imprinted in her mind that happily ever after love stories exist only in the movies she watched.
Due to her mother’s flirtatious behavior, Haley became convinced that people in relationships couldn’t be trusted and don’t always tell the truth of whether they love someone. Her father’s chauvinism taught her that men prefer hot, easy women who cater to their every need. This isn’t to say that Haley doesn’t like boys--she most certainly does--she just doesn’t trust them much. She believes that there’s something wrong with every relationship and that there’s no honest happily ever after.
Her family is quite wealthy, but contrary to turning into a spoiled brat, Haley found herself embarrassed (for example) whenever someone would find out that her parents had a maid. She never demanded or asked for expensive, lavish things (in contrast to her mother, who is always shopping at high-end places, and little brother, who is spoiled rotten). She got a job as soon as she turned sixteen so that she could make her own money. Haley wants people to know that she earned the things that she has; she doesn’t want to be viewed as spoiled. Thus, she has a casual and unassuming style, but a classy air to her.
Immediately after high school, Haley moved from Orange County in order to get away from her materialistic family and pursue her dreams of becoming a veterinarian. She’s currently working as a restaurant waitress in order to pay rent for her humble house and other living expenses. Tuition to Jackson State University is paid by her father, as Haley realistically cannot afford it on her own.

Damien reached up and rubbed the back of his neck, inhaling through his teeth as his elbow rested on the bar table. He was bowed over a rather thick packet of papers stapled together, each coated with long lines of legal release and contract forms.
"Need another drink, Black?"
Damien glanced up to see the bartender looking at him as he cleaned a mug out with his spotless napkin. Damien managed a short nod before returning his attention to the documents splayed in front of him and sensed the man leave his presence.
Christmas break was only a week away now and Damien had only just found a proper place for himself and Clarissa to stay.
Well, mainly Clarissa but he hadn't told her that yet. Although he wanted to stay with her during the entirety of the break, he couldn't; the Polyjuice Potion was now complete and he and Blair needed to follow through with their plan. All that was left now was relocating the two Death Eaters at the opportune moment....which happened to be in the middle of the winter vacation. Then they could sneak into a private meeting and do some real damage.
Clarissa was beginning to show a small bump but she hid it well and only Damien had noticed (minus Blair probably, since she'd be looking for it).
Damien rubbed his face tiredly as the bartender plopped down another shot of Firewhiskey and removed the empty glass in front of him. He leaned forward and signed the lines at the bottom of the paper, agreeing to taking responsibility to any potential damage done to the apartment that he was renting.
He felt as if he was signing his life away. Damien had never planned on something like this happening to him -- he had never even considered it. This wasn't what he had wanted or how he had hoped things would play out, but he was certain that things would work out; he would make them work out. He would be a good father--
Damien swallowed, unintentionally allowing his breathing to come to an abrupt halt.
A father.
The word alone sounded so frightening and Damien couldn't imagine himself as one. He was only eighteen for god's sake! He shook his head, trying to rid himself of distracting thoughts as he turned to the next page, which covered lease agreements in regards to pets.
He then remembered that he should be breathing and thus forced out a breath of air.
He had successfully found a safe place to hide away from Death Eaters. Damien had told no one about the whereabouts of this apartment complex, not even Clarissa. It was a very nice place and a roomy apartment but Damien still felt a bit claustrophobic; his life had been turned upside down in a matter of months.
Perhaps things would be better once his father was behind bars...
That sounded so awful -- especially since it was most likely true...
Damien took a swig of the firewhiskey.
