Ben had decided to go to the masquerade ball, despite him thinking it was stupid. Maybe he would meet someone special there. Well that wasn’t all that likely but then again he had to think positive. So that what people had told him...Ben wasn’t that sociable though and he was still struggling to actually fit in around the place, even being around for nearly two years. With the people he employed, he behaved as their boss and was never overly friendly so he could see how they wouldn’t like him very much. He didn’t always give off the right signals and sometimes others judged him wrongly. He had become better with women though, despite his ex coming back briefly he wasn’t as sleazy and such a womaniser. He had realised that he could do better than her anyway after she had gone out with one of his employees. Of course the guy was fired but more because he just couldn’t stand the guy. Ben really believed that it was all his ex’s doing until she had come back into his life, but since then he realised that he had let her take over him and that wasn’t good. He had let her get to him so much, he wasn’t that kind of person but for some reason she’d been able to and it bugged him so much. Ben didn’t have much knowledge on this party, just that he might as well go. It was out of boredom he had chosen to go and not because he particularly wanted to. He never showed much interest in anything unless it involved women or cars....I guess you could say he was a typical man, but others would disagree because men could be a lot more social than himself, but he wasn’t the type of person who was bothered by status, he could care less if people knew who he was....in fact, he would rather people didn’t know who he was. The truth in the matter was that he was rather insecure in himself. He always carried himself well, thought he had it down when it came to women, but he never really showed the side to him that let people know his insecurities. He often put on a front and didn’t show his softer side. There was only one person around the place he felt comfortable to do that with and that was Kennedy Adams. He had taken a while to get to that point but he’d opened up about his ex and what she had done to him. he considered her to be a true friend. He climbed into his car and went on his way to the ball. Considering that there was an event going on, it was fairly quiet on the roads, everyone must have already been there. But it didn’t really bother him, he would just turn up late. Wouldn’t people be turning up at different times to the event anyway? That was what made sense to him, but obviously people just followed the flock and did what everyone else did. That was what was boring about some of the people in this town. When he got there he handed over his ticket and walked in, going straight to the bar. He noticed a woman a few feet away from him and smiled at her A beer for me, and give the lady whatever she would like to drink he told the bartender.
