i'm sorry to be posting here again when i just posted yesterday! but i just wanted to suggest something about the sidebar. i think it's really great that so much information is right at hand - that makes finding stuff really convenient - but the sidebar is really long, which means you have to scroll halfway down the page to be able to post in the cbox. that can feel a bit time-consuming.
i like the new skin a lot, especially the springlike colours, but maybe when the next skin is made there could be some changes to the structure of the sidebar? it would be great if the ooc cbox could be moved a bit further up the page so it's easier to access, or if the content could be rethought to make the sidebar a bit smaller.
a quick fix would be to make some of the hover images (like the two in the first box) a bit smaller, or maybe even swap the ratios for plain text. that wouldn't really make a big difference to the look of the site, but it would take a little bit off the length of the sidebar. i did have a couple of ideas about what would make the sidebar a lot more compact, but they're a bit more drastic. for instance, the two twitter feeds could potentially be put inside an accordion menu so people could 'minimise' them when they didn't need to read them, or the icc could be put into a toggle sidebar at the right side of the screen - both would still be available for easy access, but without really taking up any room.
it's just an idea, though - i won't be offended if you don't like it!

Haha, don't feel bad about posting twice in two days! On the test site I have like six boards, two or three categories, so while making the skin I didn't have a clue how big exactly it was going to be once it moved over to this site. I have to admit I was surprised when I saw it went past our boards and membergroups at the bottom. I figured i'd reply here to let you know we got your suggestion, and I wanted to give you a heads up about what we'll be doing. Tonight we'll be adding some new boards and places to post around here, so everything shouldn't look as uneven once we're done with that. We have some really fun boards that are meant for the game so those should equal out the sidebars. If that does not work we're going to contract the sidebar to make them as even as possible (just because I really like uniform things which is why I made the header larger so the sidebar would be even -sort of- with the start of the forum). If the ooc chat is too low on the sidebar we can move that no problem after the boards are up if we even things out. I was thinking we could move the x blog below the cbox's and keep it right above awards. I'm afraid if we accordian them people aren't going to read them at all, and we're going to be getting both of them very active to keep things moving on the site. We've made updates before and people don't read them (we even know this because this past update we've put something in that'll let us know if people read or not), and still only two or so people did what we asked, so we want these short updates easily read without being able to be hidden (if that makes sense). We're going to use both X's and the main sites to pimp threads, characters, and everything having fun little competitions and everything going on. Pretty much we're going to make it just as fun ooc as it is ic around here. But yeah, the sidebar is going to either change or equal out with the site by tonight. I just wanted to put it up this morning but had to leave, so instead of leaving it in maint. mode I switched back. I'll try to fix the ooc for you though so it's less annoying! Let me know tomorrow if the sidebar works better for you since all should be done tonight! I love that you're suggesting things and i'll try to figure out the best way to make it work while keeping it as plain and simple as possible. Expect a good amount of change before tonights end!
We're hoping in the end it'll be so much easier to navigate around here!

You're definitely right - the problem with accordions is that people won't necessarily notice them and read them. Anyway, that sounds really great! the cbox being moved up is the thing I was really hoping for. thanks for helping! <3

Alright, so I said I should be done with everything tonight but I lied -.- Well not that I wanted to but i'm having a hard time staying awake after being up so early in the morning, so i'm going to pass out and finish the rest of the things in the morning. I was hoping to have everything done tonight but there's so much we have planned and it's just not gonna happen so fast D: This weekend is going to be HUGE around here though so be ready!
