thinking of you what would you do | Daisy was having one of those days where she was losing everything. For her, that was what happened everyday but since she didn't even have her own place yet and was staying with her brother until she found somewhere (she refused to stay in student accomondation but couldn't do her rush trial for the sorority till the weekend. She had just arrived, she was going to join the sorority, definitely thought it would be fun. Daisy didn't really know anyone around the place apart from one guy, the guy who was her best friend funnily enough. The fact that she wanted to transfer colleges meant she could pick one she wanted, and she found the perfect course for her at a community college which worked perfectly for her. She couldn't want to see him. To surprise him and see the look on his face when she saw him....he was going to be so happy....she hoped, like she was to see him....she had been waiting a while to see him and the opportunity finally came up. She didn't even know most of Jacksonville yet, just the Hilton and a few other places she needed. She wanted a tour guide, someone to show her round.
Now she knew where he lived, but she couldn't realistically turn up at his house, it just wasn't doable...well it was doable it just didn't make much sense to her since it would be so random and out of the blue. She had convinced herself that she couldn't do it anyway so she was planning on meeting him in town but somehow had to get him there. She would think of the simplest thing just because that was who she was. Daisy wasn't exactly a complex person, she needed to really think if she had something that was going to be complicated. She normally had people to help her though. Now her sisters and brother were around her she felt more at home. Her parents weren't going to move, they finally wanted to have all their children together and were sending the younger ones to Jackson high to board. It wasn't like they had huge amounts of money, but what they did have, they wanted to spend it on something worthwhile. Education was important to them. Daisy's older sister was possibly moving to Jacksonville. It wasn't like their parents lived that far away, they were only a plane ride away, at least she had family nearby and that was what she loved.
Daisy thought about it for a while. She had to think of something amazing, then she suddenly got an idea; she'd get her brother to send him a text, they both knew the other was in town. tell him starbucks she instructed him smiling at her brother. She couldn't wait to see him, it had been far too long. She got ready, made sure she was dressed up warm and then said goodbye to her brother, telling him she would be back later. He was expecting to meet her brother, she hoped it would be a nice surprise for him when he saw herself instead, she knew he would probably be shocked, that was expected. He'd probably have lots of questions too. She was so glad that they had kept in touch, with other friends she hadn't kept in touch as well as the two of them, it had been less frequent but it didn't mean that she didn't care. She walked to Starbucks where they were going to meet and saw him through the window. He couldn't see her so she slinked on a pair of sunglasses and walked in to order her drink. She saw him sitting there, looking as good as ever. Luckily the queue wasn't too long, she got her drink and came up behind him, putting her hands over his eyes. guess who? she said in a disguised whisper.

It was one of those rare days where Victor just wanted to be lazy and do nothing. He didn’t have any class that day but he did have a couple homework assignments that he probably should’ve been working on, however he just didn’t feel up to it, besides those assignments weren’t due until the following week so he still had time to finish them and submit them electronically to his professors.
But despite his lethargic attitude he decided to shower and dress for the day, deciding that lounging around in his pajamas all day would earn him the right to be teased endlessly by his friends. It wasn’t as if he didn’t already get teased by his mates, though it was good-natured fun that he often joined in on, but nonetheless he didn’t want to give them anymore reason to poke fun at his expense. He tossed on a dark grey button-up shirt and a pair of blue-jeans—he didn’t care much for his appearance today, just as long as he was comfortable was all that mattered. After running a comb through his hair he heard his cellphone vibrating on the bedside table where he’d left it the night before and shuffled over to see who was texting him. Confusion set in when he noticed that it was Daisy’s brother, who he’d seen on occasion now that the other boy lived in Jacksonville as well, but they didn’t contact each other very often.
The text told him to meet the other boy at Starbucks and Victor couldn’t see any reason not to, it’s not like he had anything else to do and it’d be nice seeing a familiar face from home. He grabbed his wallet, his phone, and room key and pocketed them before slipping on a pair of sneakers and snatching a black hoodie from his bedpost.
The drive to town didn’t take very long and soon he was sitting at a table by the window with his drink in front of him, waiting for his friend to arrive. It didn’t take long, however, the person who had shown up certainly wasn’t the person that he had expected to see…
“Guess who!” Warm fingers slid over his eyes, obscuring his chance to see who had just snuck up on him. His heart rate picked up at the sound of the voice, sure it was slightly disguised but…he’d know that voice anywhere and it took all he had to fight the urge to pinch himself to make sure that he wasn’t dreaming. “Daze, is that really you?” He asked in disbelief before pushing away from the table and standing up to wrap his arms around her in a tight embrace, “I’ve missed you.”
[I'll make this pretty later, I have to go to class now x.x]

thinking of you what would you do | Daisy laughed when he asked if it was really her. She was taking it seriously like he didn't believe it was her. of course it is silly she said holding him tight and then letting him go to look at him. I missed you too she said biting her lip. She really had done, apart from the very occasional visit to jacksonville to see her brother...meaning a extremely quick visit to Victor, she hadn't seen him properly in a few years. She couldn't deny that he looked better in person than he did on Skype. That was usually the case though with people. She had always believed that he would be better looking though, she never understood why he didn't have more girlfriends in high school, while she had always been with a boyfriend. It made her feel slightly bad. Now here she was, single and standing before the guy she had been confused about. She put it down to missing him so much, because how could you develop feelings for someone who was not the same place you were? That was her theory anyway....she didn't understand it and thinking about it too much kind of made her feel a little bit dizzy. There was no way she could reveal how she actually felt, that would be too weird. Besides, they had such a good thing going with their friendship. She didn't want to ruin it...how was she to know that he felt exactly the same way?
Daisy shuffled in her seat, getting the thoughts out of her head. She may be a typical, stereotypical blonde in some sense but she wasn't a complete airhead, it was more that she ended up saying something stupid without thinking and then appearing stupid. She never did that badly in school, well when she actually worked for it. She had enjoyed some subjects and those had been the ones she had worked at. She'd always needed a math tutor and still never listened in classes. She had found what she wanted to do in fashion. She loved it and believed she was actually good at it. Finally she found something she was good at and something her parents could be proud of her for. Now they were the type of parents who were proud of her anyway, but now that she had something she wanted to do they were even more so. surprised to see me? she asked him. OHMIGOSHIHAVESOMUCHTOTELLYOU she said excitedly and rather quickly. She really did, even though they spoke everyday in some form it was so exciting to see him in person. She hadn't told him about transferring colleges because she had wanted to surprise him.
It hadn't been long since her break up with Adam, and she couldn't believe that she was feeling something for some one else so soon, but it wasn't really like that, since the break up with Adam was mutual she still had some feelings for him, but she knew it was for the best. So you know I broke up with Adam right? Well mutual thing but yeah.... she started. I like totally have some feeling still there, like I told you but I think it's for the best, I mean I'll just find someone else she shrugged. Anyway as I was saying....basically the course at Columbia sucked she said with a shrug. I mean the people were ok but well some of them treated me different I am sure of it...anyway I just saw this fashion and photography course at Jackson and thought it would be perfect you know? she nodded. I'm gonna get to model for my friends clothes and vice versa and oh my god it's like the best thing ever she grinned. I'm so happy right now. I mean I don't have my own place, I'm living with my brother but I just love being here and I've like just arrived more or less but I wanted to see you as soon as I had a spare moment. It would have been sooner but I've had orientation for classes till now, or i've been unpacking but I've been here like three days so your very privilliged to have my time right now she grinned. anyway, never mind me....what is up with you? Fill me in on EVERYTHING she said exaggerating 'everything' and forgetting that he probably didn't actually have that much to share with her because they spoke so much.

They hadn’t properly seen each other in…well, Victor couldn’t quite remember the last time they were actually physically face-to-face like this. It was such an uplifting and downright amazing feeling, his stomach churned and his mouth felt dry—though this really wasn’t an unusual reaction for him whenever he was around Daisy. Of course, he’d never tell her that he’d had a crush on her for years, he’d gotten quite good at hiding his true feelings for her. “This is the best surprise ever, I finally get to see my girl again.†He remembered when they were younger and he’d call her ‘his girl’, meaning that she was his best friend, the one person that he trusted with all of his secrets and vice-versa.
When she broke away from the hug first he had to stop himself from frowning, immediately feeling the cold air replace the warmth from her body. Though that urge quickly diminished when she excitedly slurred her words together, his lips twitched into an amused smirk, “Alright, take a deep breath and slow down.†Victor couldn’t help but to laugh as he directed her to take the seat across from him at the table. He even moved to pull the chair out for her to sit in, like any gentleman would, before returning to his own seat and taking a sip of his coffee.
Despite the fact that he was used to her long-winded stories, he still found himself desperately trying to keep up with what she was saying. She was easily excitable, just one of the many things that he loved about her, but sometimes when she’d get so into telling a story or got too excited it became a little hard for him to follow her train of thought. “So you go to the college here now? That’s great, Daze! Maybe I’ll see you around campus between classes or something—either way, I’m glad that this means I’ll get to see my favorite girl more often now!†He smiled, “Well I’m glad that you were able to pencil me in to your busy schedule, Miss Miller.†Victor spoke in a mock-formal voice before grinning like an idiot, “In all seriousness though, I really am glad that you’re here.â€
And then the torch was passed to him and he honestly couldn’t think of a single new thing to tell her about his life, they spoke often enough that she knew almost everything that he’d been up to. Yeah, he’d mainly been studying for his upcoming Sociology exam, but that wasn’t interesting enough to actually care about. Really, how could he compete with the story she’d just told him? Well, my life isn’t quite as exciting as yours seems to be,†he chuckled, “I’ve got an exam coming up so I’ve been studying for that, though I did take some time off from that over the weekend to head out to a party off campus with a couple of mates. Nothing to extravagant though, one of them got so drunk he started dancing on the tables, a bunch of us caught it on camera. Poor bloke’s never gonna live it down.†He laughed at the memory before pulling out his cellphone to show her the short 30 second clip of his friend dancing sloppily on a tabletop.
“But other than that, nothing too exciting has happened.â€

thinking of you what would you do | Daisy nodded I know right? So amazing she said about them being together once again. I’ve totally missed you so much she told him. She meant it. things just weren’t the same with him not around. She’d made other guy friends....other friends but they hadn’t been anything like him. Of course she couldn’t really compare anyone else to him since he was her oldest friend. Her best friend from school was the closest she’d come to him, she shared things with her but still, she was so glad to have her bestie around. She could always count on him, even when they had been apart they spoke in some form everyday...that was what best friends did. Now i’m repeating myself she said and took a breather. She was getting all a bit too excited, but she had a good reason. Did my brother fool you? I thought it would be the perfect plan since I wanted to keep it secret I was here she said with a grin.
If there was one thing Daisy was good at, it was keeping secrets for a surprise. Other secrets not so much. Yes, her friends could tell her anything and she would never tell anyone, but if she had something that was better hidden, it wasn’t easy for her to hide it and usually ended up telling someone. That was one of the reasons it was so hard to keep victor from knowing she liked him, because she usually spilt the beans at some point. Though something like that was going to cause awkwardness in her opinion and she didn’t want to do that....she couldn’t ruin their friendship because it was way too special to her. she didn’t know what she would do if she didn’t have him in her life, whichever way it was she wanted him to always be around. She would have to get the stupid crush out of her mind, she was sure to find some other guy just as cute and nice as him around somewhere, well she hoped that she could do anyway.
She sat down as instructed and took another long breath as she told him everything that had been going on in her life. Sure they had spoken but she hadn’t been able to let anything slip. She hadn’t been able to tell him which had been annoying in a way. She sometimes hated secrets but it had been worth it to see his face. He looked so damn happy she was so relieved. Not that she believed that he would be angry or annoyed she was here with him. They would have so much more time to spend with each other now that she was here....it would be so fun, they would go from where they left off and go on some wild adventures...hang out and just have fun...and of course it was her birthday at the end of the month.
Twenty first being a massive deal, she was sure that they would be doing something for that because apart from her family, he was one of the people she needed around her for that day. Though she wasn’t asking for much from anyone, but she wanted to spend it with people she cared about most, that was all she wanted really. She wouldn’t ask for anything specifically because she didn’t know what she wanted. A lot of people at school for their sixteenth asked for cars and got them, Daisy didn’t ask and she got something better, something that meant more than a car. She knew her family wouldn’t have been able to afford a car for her at that stage and wasn’t going to force them to do anything that would put them in debt. They were already sending her and her sister to boarding school and that was enough.
Of course we can see each other between classes! she grinned Well depending on our schedules she shrugged Either way I am sure we’ll be spending a lot of time together...we have a lot of making up to do she grinned. That wasn’t a bad thing at all, the thought made her really excited actually. Well yeah, you are pretty damn lucky she said playfully. She then listened to him tell her about his life and how nothing was really interesting about it. What test do you have? Want some company to study? Ok that was a dumb question, the two of them studying together was never a good choice since they would never get work done in high school, but it was more because she wouldn’t have a clue what his college degree was about.
Well I’m here if you want me, I’m trying to get my brother to let me have a party too she said If I had my own place it would be so much easier but its so much cheaper living with the bro you know? she laughed at her rhyming. You look well though she nodded I’m glad to be here too she told him. Then she paused for a few minutes and took a breath to ask him So, any girls on the scene? Do I need to meet them to make sure they are good enough for my Vic Vic? she grinned at him with a wink.

Part of him still couldn’t believe that she was there, physically there, sitting across from him at a table in Starbucks. Sure he had friends here in Jacksonville, he had Dallas and countless other people that he frequently went out with but nothing compared to having your childhood best friend there with you. His smiled, a light chuckle escaping his parted lips, “He definitely did have me fooled. I don’t really talk to him all that often so I was kind of wondering if he had something important to tell me. I know that your birthday’s coming up so I thought maybe he was going to ask me what I was getting you or something like that.” He had an idea of what he wanted to buy her for her big day, but there was no way that she’d ever get it out of him prematurely—she’d just have to wait until her birthday because her present was going to be a surprise.
“You surprised me, that’s for sure.” He laughed, “I think this is, by far, the best surprise I’ve ever gotten.” And he meant that sincerely. She meant the world to him and to have her back in his life had him feeling such elation that he didn’t know what he would do if she just up and left.
And there she went again, babbling excitedly about future plans and how they had a lot of making up to do. He couldn’t help but the grin, rolling his eyes playfully at her, “Not sure if you’d be able to sit still long enough to study, mate. Though I appreciate the sentiment all the same.” In truth, even if they had decided to get together and study it was almost guaranteed that they wouldn’t actually get any studying done—one of them would end up saying something, the other would laugh, and then they’d completely forget the reason why they were together in the first place. He took his academics very seriously, but he was sure that if Daisy was around he’d be tempted to skive on his work and do whatever he could do to entertain her instead of studying.
“If you’ve got your heart set on a party then I’d be willing to co-host one with you at my place. Mind you, my apartment isn’t huge so you’d have to make sure not to invite too many people. But 20 or 30 guests shouldn’t be too bad, if you’re up for it.” There he went again, he had a habit of offering his services whenever one of his friends were in need and he wasn’t used to being the host of parties, usually he was one of the guests who’d been invited, but he figured that if it was something that Daisy wanted then he’d be more than happy to help her out.
He found himself rolling his eyes in a playful manner once again before answering, “I know you’re just looking for a bit of juicy gossip but…no girlfriends, sorry to disappoint.” Victor chuckled, he had plenty of girl friends, however he didn’t have that sort of relationship with any of them.
