all around me are familiar faces
These are some people I’d like in Derek’s life for the dramas they can bring. I tried to leave most of their personality up to you and stuff about them, the only reason Kat is more specific is cause I’ve thought her out more; though feel free to throw an idea you got for any of them my way and we’ll see how we can work that. I’d like for whoever takes any of these to be active, please don’t disappear on me to long(I get that you whoever you are have a life away from the site). If you have any other/additional ideas for these people shoot the my way. the best friend
“YOU GOT ONE HAND ON THE DEVIL BABY AND ONE HAND IN MINE”
KAT(what we’ll call her for now) is Derek’s best friend since the two were kids, they’ve been through pretty much everything together; they think of themselves more as family than friends with how they’ve been there for each other. But come high school Derek’s parents had enough of his antics and shipped him off to boarding school in Jacksonville, leaving KAT(though she probably had other friends who wouldn’t miss their best friend?) He came back the first two summers and they hung out while he worked on his car, besides seeing KAT it was the only reason he came back so he could take it back to Jacksonville. But the two wrote each other all the time when they were apart(Derek isn’t big on anything to do with technology so he’d put pen to paper) though there are some things you can’t exactly just write about. Like the fact that while Derek was away KAT met a guy who charmed her and seemed like her prince charming, but he was far from it and she found herself in an abusive relationship. Sure she wanted to tell Derek countless times but she didn’t want him to come back and wind up in jail for killing the guy, even if he deserved it. Thankfully one time she’d had enough and called the police on him before leaving town. She found her way to Jacksonville and made up some lie as to why she showed up, and now is living with Derek. Afraid that her ex might get out or was never caught and will come get her.

“DO YOU THINK YOU COULD LIVE WITH ME”
Frankly Derek would love to live alone forever, he’s just starting to take a hit from paying for his two room apartment. And giving in he put out an ad for a roommate and who should answer it but MAX(what we’ll call him for now). Much like Derek he’s come from a troubled past, had his ups and downs but preserved and is ready to live on his own; his main worry is that whoever he lives with will learn of the mental problems he has and how he needs pills on a regular basis to function. And the perfect candidate for such ridicule would be Derek, and while he may poke fun at it at first he’ll find a friend in MAX. Though he’ll be hesitant about it he can’t help but be intrigued by this guy who’s got all these problems going on in his head, and for once he’ll want to be the one to probe someone for answers. And MAX will be more than happy to answer, for once not having to deal with the constant ridicule and get a friend who’ll understand him better and accept him as he is. Unlike his brother(JULIAN) who still looks at him strangely even after all these years. MAX will find Derek to be more brotherly to him than his own brother, with how he treats him like a normal person; well as normal as Derek would treat anyone else. There will be the occasional problems of course, the two will butt heads and fight over one thing or another. Though Derek will come to count MAX as one of his good friends, something he doesn’t have many of.

“IF I FORGOT WHO I AM, WOULD YOU PLEASE REMIND ME?”
LANDON(what we’ll call him for now) has been fallowing in his cousin’s footsteps, causing all kind of trouble and running with the bad crowd. His parents have tried over and over again to make him see reason and to stop misbehaving but the boy just didn’t want to listen and this led to him being shipped off to the same boarding school his cousin had been sent to; in the hopes it’d teach him a lesson. And it has, that he’s glad to be away from home. He can finally focus on his music career and do what he wants, for the most part, Jacksonville is like a heaven away from the hell he knew back home. The ladies love him, always a good thing, and he made a few close friends(JULIAN is one). The longer he stays the more he doesn’t want to leave, and it helps that he’s got family in town that he actually can stand. Derek and LANDON were close as kids and may have drifted apart over the years, but somehow just being around each other it’s not forced and they actually don’t mind hanging out; Derek even lets him crash at his place if LANDON doesn’t want to go back to the school dorms. They aren’t without their fights but the two are family and could pass for brothers, Derek listens when LANDON needs someone to talk to or to share a song with and will always give him an honest opinion. It’s the family they both needed there for them growing up.

Unlike his big bother MAX, JULIAN(what we’ll call him for now) doesn’t have any problems. Somehow his brother got all the crazy and he just had to live with it, which drove him insane to now end; he loves his big brother but just can’t help but wish he were more normal. His parents sent him to attend at Jacksonville High, in part to be close to his big brother and watch over him but he can’t help but want to live a little. He’s taken a shine to the new “bad boy” LANDON, he’s exactly what he needs to have a little fun and let loose. The two make fast friends and he soon finds out that his new friend’s cousin is his brother’s roommate, this should be something that will work to his advantage; pushing his brother off on Derek. But him and Derek butt heads, no matter how nice he is Derek can’t help but be annoyed by him and always start a fight. Because he knows JULIAN is a really good guy who just wants to be a bad boy, and he’s everything Derek dislikes. The “nice guy” most woman go for; even though JULIAN knows it’s true he wants to show Derek that his type aren’t all that bad, thankfully he has the help of Derek’s cousin to help with this. Even though JULIAN shouldn’t care what Derek thinks he can’t help that he does; probably because he wants his carefree attitude and admires him for never letting what others think bother him. Even now as he lives with his crazy brother MAX the guy doesn’t give a shit.

WILLA(as we shall call her now) has a problem discerning reality from fiction, off her meds anyway; something she’s been doing quite a bit more frequently. Thankfully no one’s seemed to have caught on not even her sister(MICHELLE), the person whom she’s closest too; if she knew she’d make sure WILLA was taking them or take her to her parents who’d take her to the hospital where she’d be forced to take them. She’s quite happy with how things are going, and enjoys visiting her sister’s apartment(mostly for her neighbors). As she now has two cute ones and she can’t help but be drawn to Derek, even if he’s rather off putting and never wants anything to do with her; WILLA sadly just thinks he’s playing hard to get. It doesn’t take long for her to think there’s something between them, and not watching his words he gives her the wrong idea making her think they’re dating. Even though the two never act like boyfriend/girlfriend she now had it in her head they are and is following him around more and more, saying they’re on a “date”. WILLA will know Derek has something going on with Bree(from the gossip blogs and the fact she was born and raised in Jacksonville, meaning she heard something) but she thinks he was just using Bree to make her jealous and now they can drop that act and move on. Derek however will tell her she’s crazy, something that will set her over the edge; WILLA has gone off the deep end before so everyone better watch out, she just may burn the whole town down to get what she wants.

And she enjoys soiling her parents good name by sleeping around with just about everyone she can, the worse off they are the better and more enjoyable it is for her. Her antics are why she isn’t on best terms with her parents, and though they want to cut her off they can’t; blackmailing her own parents is not below her and she doesn’t it with the most sickeningly sweet smile on her face. Derek was one of the many who went so many had gone before, though he doesn’t plan on going back he does enjoy the parties MICHELLE throws at her place.
