This piece of trash classy girl is Merrick "la vie" Bradford, and she's coming to Jacksonville all the way from Las Vegas. It's weird taking her out of a city like that and throwing her into a place like Jacksonville, but she's able to adjust easily and sees the entire city as a whole new game. Yup, that's right, she thinks that life is one big game, and she's going to play her way through it with the winning hand each time. Cards, well her father owns the casino that's just come to town, so it's safe to say she knows her way around a deck. Being from Vegas you see a lot of crazy things, and that is where Merrick fell in love with magic, and she took it upon herself to learn the ropes until she was performing tricks out on the strip for spare change. That and she would hussle people across the county with cards, but magic has always been a passion so she messes around with it the most she can. Her magic tricks can go from simple to insane, but it's all depending on her audience really and their ages. She loves the simple "rabbit out of the hat" tricks with the little kids and other cute little things, so around them she's as tame as a cat, but around the adults she does tend to go for the trickier more insane shows (just for spare change of course). She steals and manipulates those around her, but it's all for a single good cause, college. Her father doesn't realize she's enrolled, something that's harder than hell to hide, but with her own apartment she just stays as far off of his radar as possible. Merrick is all about living large and in charge, so shall we plot this wreck up?
FRIENDSHIPS.
[/right] Merrick is all about friends so she'd have a good amount i'm guessing. She is a bit on the insane side though, so whoever she befriends is going to have to handle her random change of behaviors. She likes to drink and party it up, so I could see some party friends coming out of the woods, but at parties she does tend to get very touchy feeling (drinking pretty much makes her very friendly so if she comes onto you please know it's just the alcohol), but she does try to not weird her friends out by doing things like that. Other people that are into magic and cards, well those would be her best friends, but she's having a hard time finding people like that around. She loves to show off her tricks though so go ahead and ask her, and if you're in the mood to learn a thing or two she's all for teaching. She will always try to make you laugh though, so if you can handle this sort of eccentric chick have at it and let's get those friendships going. If you're unsure if she'd like your character go ahead and post a little bit of information about them and i'll see what I can come up with. ROMANCE. [/right] This list is going to be all over the place since Merrick would not know the meaning of the word stable, so those kind of relationships are pretty much up in the air right now. She is not against ever getting into a stable relationship, but she has to make sure they'll be able to handle her so it'll be a long road before she let's someone that close and long term. She's all for the meaningless one night stands though, or maybe like the weekend flings, because honestly it's just the best way to go with her. Short term is her thing, and she's all about the whole "love 'em and leave 'em" thing, that meaning she's not one for laying around cuddling all night, but if you want to get up and play a game of cards with her she's all for it. She doesn't really have a type of who she falls for, male or woman, so pretty much anyone's got a chance (if they want one that is). She's not a whore though, but some people do tend to think of her as one considering she's so open to just about anything. Just because she likes to have a good time shouldn't classify her as a whore or a wreck though, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions and there's nothing she can really do about that. She just refuses to listen to what others have to say, and if her partner can't do the same they're not worth her time. So let's set her up in the romance department! HATERS. [/right] She is going to have a lot of these, not that she likes the idea, but people are just not going to like how she handles things. Maybe she lied and stole your money in a game or something? There could be so many reasons that you hate her, so go ahead and have fun with it. I'm all for the hater lines, and the more creative in this department the better so let's go! She loves to manipulate people, lies, cheats, and steals, so I mean there are TONS of reasons that you could hate her. The problem in the end would be picking just one reason since she is a mess most of the time. She's not a bad person, just comes off a little on the "different" side, so maybe you could even start off hating her and then it grows to something else? Like you finally understand her and like her in the end or something....I don't know, whatever you want for this really! EVERYTHING ELSE. [/right] There are so many more ideas that you could throw at me since this chick is just off the radar doing just about anything, so yeah have fun and come up with some awesome plots. Either that or if you want one with her but can't think of something just let me know a little about your character and i'll figure something out. I'm sure we can work something awesome up so let's get plotting! There's going to be a request at some point for her sister/brother (doesn't know) who is a year older (but was adopted). It's going to be a rather crazy plot though so not sure if anyone would be up for it, but since Merrick is rather crazy it'd fit her perfectly. She will be hired at her party, they meet there and kinda hit it off, she can be his crazy friend (not) into drugs! YES! Then when he gets into the drugs maybe they can have some tensions, like she'll be really annoyed, he could even try make her try some (since he would be all doped up and shit he would try prolly make bree and his other friends try them too, but that is different...back to merrick) So yeah, they would have a bit of a wirlwind friendship, instead of her trying to help him, she would want to avoid him? Because he is trying to bring her down and asking her to get high with him.

Britney needs a good girl friend, she is quite awkward and quiet (when she isn't on drugs) so she could maybe bring her out of her shell (without using the drugs) After she tells Andre maybe she tells Merrick (the three of them should be friends, just an idea) but yeah she will tell her and she'll maybe shout I don't know....Britney won't be the one to try and get her into it. She wants to get out of it but she is scared. So if Merrick HAD done drugs maybe she could tell her stories of what happened to her when she was on them or whatever. Just to scare her. All in all I think Brit needs a little crazy influence in her life that is not the drugs, because when she is off them she won't be as confident, so she is going to need those friends that make her feel better.

With these two I see kayla being intrigued by her, she wouldn't do anything under peer pressure, everything she does is her own decision in the end but maybe she gets into gambling or something because she shows her the casino or something? That's just an idea. Though kayla doesn't have much money so she would be broke fairly soon, and she has to save up for her accommodation for after graduation, basically party friends really, but that is what I got with these two so I'll wait to see what you think.

-------------------neil and merrick Haha, I love the idea that she's a magician at their party. I think she'd have a blast putting on a show for whoever would want to watch her, and it'd make that party all the more epic. She'd be so annoyed if he tried to get her to try them, and I could see there being some conflict there, but for the most part yeah I could see them being good friends if he can deal with her shit. I could definitely see her just avoiding him at that point in his life, sort of one of these "hit me up when you're sober" things, but when he's not doped up she'd have a damn good time with him.

[/justify] -------------------kayla and merrick Merrick's dad is pretty strict when it comes to everything to do with the casino, so he wouldn't let anyone underage (even if it's his own daughter) get in there, so if anything Merrick puts on game nights and shit at her own apartment. Maybe Kayla gets an invite with someone and comes over, and from there Merrick shows her the joys of gambling and card games? If she met Kayla and hit it off I could see her showing some of the tricks of the trade, but she would never show her as much as she knew since she'd want to be the best. If Kayla's cool in her book though she'd show her how to have some fun.

YAY finally more lines for Brit! I like this, they are kind of a mismatch but that is what would make them so epic, I think maybe at one point she will admit that she hates doing the drugs, once she hears about the stories (made up or real) it will definitely spook her and obviously when it comes out that she is a druggie she'll feel so bad (especially for Abby because she wouldn't want anyone to be nasty because of her) she'd be worried, but that's not really relavant.

OH that's a cool idea, either way she wouldn't turn down a social event like that, she would definitely be interested in the tricks, but I don't think she would have the skills, but she would try and probably end up with it more like a novelty act really with her.

[/justify] -------------------britney and merrick Merrick probably wouldn't care so much if she admitted to hating them, she'd be all "then why do you keep doing them?" and not understand the whole addiction thing, so that is when she'll just end up disappearing for a little while. She would check in randomly to see how things are going though, and if she seems normal she'll stick around to hang out. She's not really the "help others out" type unfortunately, but she'll be there for her when she's sober when she really doesn't need it hah.

He wouldn’t want to put Brit’s business out there but he’d just need someone to vent to.

So if she needed someone to watch her tricks he’d be more than willing to sit there and give her the reactions she might be looking for. I don’t know how she is with people that are her friends but if they became friends she seems like the type who’d be willing to stick up for him and tell people off.

And I was trying to come up with some type of epic thing like she’s someone’s daughter that was given up for adoption or something and they don’t’ know they’re related but eventually find out. No creepy almost falling in love plots though if that one.
She could just be a cousin but the Whitfields wouldn’t have taken Derek to meet her cause they’re dicks like that. So he’d know about her but he’d have never met her gorwing up or have seen her if they’d gone to family reunions together, though he wouldn’t have talked to her.
Can also see Derek’s dad having gotten someone else pregnant, so a half sister. But that’s just if the other two don’t work or aren’t as interesting. If you don’t want her that closely related to Derek her parents and someone in his family could’ve had a one night stand that resulted in her.
Just some thoughts, if you got any other ideas add them or change them.
Haha okay so adding on to that I read up what you have and it’s funny cause her and Derek aren’t a hundred percent similar but they both are able to make people hate them for being themselves. So it’d be funny if they were at a party and he caught her stealing from him and he bitched her out and the two got into it and then someone, random person, points out how they seem like they could be related. They both don’t see it and eventually walk away from the fight, over time they both could look into it and fight out the other one is related to them and then they don’t get all buddy buddy but they talk and Derek would actually care about her if she was family and look out for her if she got in trouble, no to mention he’d be excited he has a family member who owns a casino then he’d be even nicer to her then he’d normally be to anyone.

Maybe the two have classes together but never really met in them, just recognize the face, and since she's an actual decent student she might not have stood out, but when she's being all wild and crazy at the parties maybe that's when he noticed her, and the two could have introduced themselves that way? It'd sort of be an awkward "don't you sit near me in -insert class here-" at first, but not too long considering Merrick hates all things awkward. She would love to show him a trick or two, and i'm guessing if she's close enough with him she'd let him vent (especially since it'd be about drugs and she just hates them so she'd listen). He'd probably end up being one of the few that she listens to, so that could make for a good friendship.

Maybe since it'd been just a one night stand at first she would care less, but if she sees him around more she'd actually realize that he probably didn't deserve to be stolen from (i'm talking about a possession of some sort instead of money), so maybe she wants to do good by it and finds some way to bring it back into his life (probably a magic trick so she could "pretend" she didn't have it all along).

If so they're hiring Merrick as entertainment, so that could be a good way for them to meet? With these two it'd more than likely have to be pure chance, or of course it could be future when he goes to school. YES though, if people were upsetting him or just being dicks she'd tell them off in a heartbeat, and if that didn't stop them she's not opposed to physical violence. She hates when people have mean things to say about her friends, so if he gets in good with her she'll become somewhat of a bodyguard (lean mean fighting machine hell yeah, hahahahah).

How about her mother was a Whitfield (as in maiden name). Her mother could have been his aunt or something? So the most Merrick would know of him was picture albums, and i'm guessing there wouldn't be too many recent pictures in there, so that's where you're coming in with the "they'd know of each other but not literally know each other" sort of thing?
Either that or, since her mother was pretty much a whore, she could have slept with Derek's father when she was younger, found out that she was pregnant, and she could have jumped right in bed with Merrick's "dad" (the one she knows) to claim that it's his baby...since the man has money and now she has to do nothing but lounge around all day, so she's pretty much got it made, and that could add drama later on (for invisible dad) if Merrick finds out she's half-sisters with Derek because her mother was a hoebag. So if either of those are good ideas i'm for whichever you think you'd like better!
HAHA, it would actually be hilarious to see him blow up at her since she'd give it all right back (even though she'd really have nothing to bitch about, she'd probably say "well if your damn pants weren't so tight I would have been able to get your wallet easier. What's the matter with you anyway, don't you ever want children?" or something lame like that). That'd be fun to see him actually care about her in the end though, and he'd have his work cut out for him considering she's always getting into trouble so he'd be kept busy looking out for her ;]

merrick & andre Sounds good Andre isn’t a bad stupid but he’s not exactly the smartest so I can see him falling behind and needing someone to help tutor him, so he could go to Merrick for that. But also outside of school he’s willing to have fun with her, he’d probably watch out for her but he can’t tell her what to do he’ll just step in if she needs a little muscle though she can just poof out of trouble with a cloud of smoke. She can definitely handle herself on the verbal plain and sometimes physical, but there's always going to be those people that could out-muscle her, so having him around could end up getting her out of some tight spots (she'd thank him of course). She has a mouth that tends to get her in a lot of trouble though, but she'd try to tone it down around him just because she wouldn't want him to have to come to her rescue all of the time. I don't know if she'd ask for the help though, so he might just have to do it without her asking. She would act pissed but would secretly be thankful yay for her moodswings.

I love how both Nathaniel and Darius are recognizing her as familiar in the threads she's in with them, and yet she's absolutely clueless haha. I am not sure how we'll have it come out that they're related, but yes there should be no creepy plots before then creepers are left for "ian".

She works with Chase so I'm sure whenever she saw Merrick around she'd be able to see thru her little attention whoring
I don't think she'd quite hate Merrick but I think perhaps there'd be some sort of distaste. |

Merrick does have that attitude that a lot could find annoying, and if Rae sees what she's trying to do around Chase I could see where the distaste would come from. Mere's not going to care though and if anything she might actually be a bit worst once she senses the other girls feelings are negative. She only usually keeps up with things until she's bored though, so I see the whole Chase thing as nothing more than a game, so she could very well get bored trying to get his attention since one night is not worth a lot of her time...but until then I could see these two butting heads.

-----liam and merrick Merrick's been around for a little while now and hasn't found too many people that she can actually stand to let loose around, so if he can get a little crazy she'd love hanging out (plus she'd enjoy the brooding mystery as she'd try to crack the code so he'd open up). I'd love for these two to be good friends, and a hook up could have happened if you want it too. She's all for one night stands and afterwards will act like it never even happened, so it could even be their little secret that they just don't bring up hah. He's up for a romantic line with Helena right? Merrick finds her absolutely gorgeous and she's going to end up flirting like hell when she's around her, so not sure if that'd bug Liam at all or not, but then again Merrick's not going to care too much since she's that type of person, just in it for a thrill hah.
