it's in your eyes, a c o l o r fade out- - - - - - LOOKS LIKE A N E W TRANSITION, THE STARTING UP AND SHAKING YOUR GROUND. TURNING YOUR HEAD TO SEE A NEW DAY CALLING - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The freshman's head bent quietly over his sketch as he sat in a corner of the studio, the only sounds his soft humming and the scratching of his pencil against paper. He'd been asked to work on a bands album cover in the studio so they could check it over while it was in progress, since they'd asked him to design a 'symbol' for their band that they could use. Right then they were recording, so he'd been able to work on finalizing the design for them after they'd approved it. He hummed softly under his breath as he worked, his head bent over the sketch he was working on. It was quiet here - a room just off the main reception room, usually used for storage but since it had been empty Draven had said he could work there, so the various people going in and out of the main room wouldn't startle or scare him.
"You make me smile like the sun, fall outta bed, sing like a bird, dizzy in my head..." He sang softly to himself, the lyrics slipping from his lips without him ever being aware as he concentrated on making the lines on the picture as straight as he could. When he sang the stutter disappeared from his words, perhaps because the only time he sang was when he was so immersed in his drawing that he could spare no thought for how his words came out, but the fact remained that he didn't stutter.
A knock startled him out of his drawing haze, his eyes wide as his head jerked up fearfully, nearly falling out of his seat with the force of the reaction. He knew it was to be irrational to be afraid when he was alone, but he'd been scared for so long that it was habit for him. His dad was in jail, yes - but ten years of abuse wasn't about to fade away over night. "H-hi..." He murmured softly, glancing warily at the man who stood in the doorway, the one who'd knocked and startled him. "C-can I h-help y-you?"

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [/center] TK Forsythe was already late for his appointment at Music Central, and this traffic wasn't improving his mood at all. He had been stuck in the same spot for five minutes now, and began to feel his blood pressure rise. He had left his apartment with plenty of time to make it on time, but someone had blown a tire right in the middle of an intersection, which caused other people to suddenly not remember how to drive at all. Traffic was backed up, and a tow truck had only just arrived. TK beeped his horn, telling the person in front of him to move up. They had at least two car lengths of a distance between them and the next person, and his patience was wearing thin. Finally, the car started to move, and TK felt as if he'd make it to the recording studio only five minutes late.
There was no greater relief than to see the studio and its parking lot. TK sighed in relief as he pulled into a spot from the door, and quickly grabbed his guitar case and ran inside. Today he was supposed to be recording some guitar back-ups for some new band, that'd probably never make it, or last, but at least he was finally being paid. TK hoped one day he'd be recording an actual CD here, just him, and not doing any backups. He'd take every offer he got though, it would all work out someday. TK nodded to himself reassuringly and entered the building. When he did he seemed to startle someone who was working there.
The boy looked younger than he, and increasingly frightened. TK looked back at the doors to make sure he had actually gone in the right building, and when he noticed that he did, he assumed that he'd just caught the boy off guard. TK walked up and gave him an impressive, professional smile as he always did on interviews, or any sort of business-related endeavor. He knew the boy could probably care less, but it seemed like he was very nervous, and was stuttering. TK extended a hand his way, still smiling cheekily.
"Hi, I'm Tobias Forsythe, I was supposed to be here like...five minutes ago, traffic, shit." He rolled his eyes and cursed the traffic secretly in his head, but continued on with his introduction, "I'm probably in the system as TK, I hope they'll still let me in the studio." The last part wasn't directed towards anyone, but himself. Sometimes TK had a bad habit of forgetting that he was in front of others, and just let his thoughts roam free and out into his speech. He was a very talkative person, so most people didn't realize it, they just thought he was giving extra details or information to a story, or something he was saying.
