Jay shook his head as he watched his best friend size the blonde up like she was his next meal. She was definitely an attractive girl and hadn’t Gary spotted her first Jay would have definitely tried to catch her attention, but the saying ‘bros before hoes’ was golden rule number one, well maybe not one but it was right up there with money and power rule the world. Now that Gary had staked some sort of invisible claim on her there was no way Jay would even consider her, she was used goods and he wasn’t into best friend sloppy seconds. Taking his blue eyes off of the girl, Jay looked back at his best friend letting out a laugh at his joke. Sure it was bad, but hell it was fitting. ”Don’t you wish you had my name about right now?” Jay picked up his martini glass and raised it to toast himself and Gary, they had done one hell of a job planning this party. ”Per la salute, ricchezza e buona fortuna.” Taking a sip, Jay let his blue eyes scan the room quickly noticing a few hot pieces of ass dressed up as cocktail waitress. They were there to serve, he could get into that at least for the night. Winking at the brunette waitress who was staring at him, Jay quickly looked away making sure that he left her wanting more. It was all a game and this was a Vegas style party, so playing games was priority number one. She clearly had no risk factor, he could tell that she was ready and willing, flirting with her would be no gamble at all. Out of the corner of his eye, Jay saw his best friend waving his hand like he was either telling Jay to shut up or swatting at a fly, either way it had caught his attention causing Jay to look towards the door. His blue eyes widened, his mouth hanging open in sheer confusion. ”What the hell?” Jay slid towards the end of his seat, unsure what Derek was doing at the party or what nonsense he was going to cause, but to bring Charlie with him, had he drank that much already? That pairing was as unlikely as him and Kayla, maybe even more.
Taking another sip from his martini, Jay finished it off, pushing it towards the edge of the bar, nodding for the bartender to refill it. Just as the bartender handing him another drink, Jay noticed Kait coming over towards the bar. She must have snuck in around the time that Charlie and Derek had come through the door, but he was so focused on the strangeness of those two he hadn’t noticed. Standing up from his bar stool, Jay didn’t want to be rude as she leaned up against the bar. ”My my Kait, don’t you look…gorgeous.” Jay smirked, taking another glance at her. Yet another girl that was completely off limits to him, not because she had a boyfriend, that was of no consequence to Jay, but because she was Kayla’s twin. Even if he could never have Kayla there was no way he was trying to get with Kait either. Seeing Charlie approach the bar, he gave her a look of confusion. He had to know why on earth she would have showed up to the party with Derek. Of all the guys at school she chose to come with the most antisocial one which made less than no sense since she was one of the biggest social butterflies. Waiting for her to come and acknowledge him, Jay finished off his second drink, holding up his hand to let the bartender know that he wanted another one. He was beginning to feel a slight buzz but this was a party and he was going to have a good time. Smiling at the tiny girl as she approached, Jay let out a laugh as Charlie said they had topped her Angel party. ”Apples and oranges Charlie. Nothing could compare to the neon and glitter.” Jay shook his head at the memory of the morning after Charlie’s party, something he was desperately trying to forget. Wrapping his large arms around her tiny frame as she hugged him, Jay let go taking a step back to take another glance at her. ”I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so…like us?” Jay was fairly certain that he had never seen Charlie dressed in anything other than short, neon dresses. Now there she was in a gold gown, looking like something out of a couture magazine, the only thing separating her from it was her bright pink hair.
Looking past Charlie, Jay watched Bree and some random guy walk through the door. He let out a laugh at the sight of the kid, another shaggy-haired ‘wanna-be’ wearing a rented tux. Of course Bree looked amazing, but what he focused on was the fact that once she arrived Jay knew that Kayla wouldn’t be far behind. He could feel his heart begin to race. It hadn’t taken long for it to happen, but there she was standing next to her best friend looking like an angel dressed in a beautiful black dress, taking his breath away. A huge smile fell on Jay’s lips at the sight of Kayla standing in the doorway, with…Carter. What the hell was she doing with him? Jay was pretty sure he’d heard that pretend pompous ass was dating his own best friend. Jay snickered, grabbing his drink, taking a large sip. This was going to be an interesting night if he didn’t slow down on the booze but at this point he didn’t really care. Watching Kayla cross the room, his own best friend resting his arm on her, Jay smirked a little. Sighing, Jay looked back at Charlie and Kait. ”If you’ll excuse me.” Grabbing his drink, he raised it at the ladies before turning and heading towards Gary, and of course Kayla. Walking up, Jay stood across from his best friend taking a long glance at Kayla before glaring over at Carter for a second. Without taking his eyes off of Carter, Jay addressed Bree. ”Bree you look amazing. Who’s your…date?” He couldn’t help himself, at this point he was annoyed that he was looking at Carter, well maybe it wasn’t Carter per se and more the fact that Kayla had an escort to the party. He had expected to see Aidan which would have pissed him off, but now here she was with some other random guy. It didn’t sit well with him.
Prying his blue eyes away from Carter, Jay smiled at Kayla before taking a sip of his martini. He was definitely feeling his buzz more now that he had moved from his spot up against the bar. ”Wow Kayla, you look absolutely stunning.” Jay let his eyes wander up and down her, taking in every inch of her, his heart beginning to race. He wanted to lean in and kiss her cheek, but his best friend resting his arm on her prevented him from getting any closer. If Gary had only known, but unless he could read Jay’s mind there was no way he knew. He wanted to ask Kayla what the heck she was doing with Carter, but he didn’t want to piss her off just as she had gotten there. Somehow he always managed to say something that got under her skin and while normally it was fun to see her all riled up and annoyed, she had always looked so cute when she was, he didn’t want to piss her off so early in the night. Letting his blue eyes roam back towards Carter, Jay glared. ”Bro, where’s your boyfriend? Is he not allowed out?” He snickered, shaking his head before taking another drink. Jay almost felt bad for taking his jealousy out on Carter, almost. He wasn’t even really jealous of him, he was just jealous that Kayla had thought to take him as her date. Jay knew better, he knew that he shouldn’t let it get to him but he couldn’t help himself. It was bad enough he had to get used to the idea that she was with Aidan, but having her switch it up just made him even more, well off.

Nathaniel just smiled at her. The compliment did well with him and he liked to pay her compliments in return, it was easy for him, all he had to say was that she looked pretty or something like that, and in this case he meant it. He wasn’t really being sincere when he said it to a lot of girls. He didn’t usually go for brunettes either, but tonight he was here with Aubrey so he was going to treat her well and make her feel special, like he usually did with girls. Thanks he said. Well at least she thought he looked good in the tux.
I guess he and I are very much a like then he gave her a small smile. I wouldn’t usually go to a party like this. I guess I couldn’t refuse your offer though he told her and winked at her. You say it’s for your friend right? And well I guess I could do with meeting a few people, I don’t really get to do that in school. he said. That meaning he wasn’t actually in school much because he skipped lessons. He liked to sleep late and ignore the fact that he had to be in lessons by a certain time.
Nathan shrugged That is just the kind of person he is he said. It seems like you know him pretty well though, and plus I’m sure when he sees you he won’t be able to resist you looking like you do tonight he almost cringed at how bad that sounded, but it was just another one of his charming ways that came sort of naturally to him. I’ve known him since he was a kid, well longer, we grew up together so trust me I know all about him he smirked slightly. I could probably tell you a whole bunch of stuff if I wanted to.
He can be a, decent guy, but not many people see that side of him. If you have that must mean he must like you in some way he told her. Well she was beautiful and she seemed like a really nice girl so he could see why his cousin liked her....if that had been the case. He didn’t really know what was going on with them exactly. He thought it must be friends of some sort, most likely but he couldn’t help but wonder if there was any more to it than that. Oh well, even when they were younger he had liked finding ways of pissing his cousin off, maybe this would be one of them.
Oh, it is? he smiled. well I guess you are used to it then. Nathaniel believed that he might just have actually made a friend at his new school. He never really had many friends before but that had not bothered him. He had been the loner type, girls often found it attractive and he used it to his advantage. He kind of hated that he was seeming to be not so lonely around this place. It was ruining his image and that wasn’t cool. The few friends he had back home would be laughing at him right now at how ‘gay’ he was being attenting this kind of party. They would have crashed a party like this just for fun.
They entered the room and he looked around, then looked at Aubrey, noticing that she spotted Derek and smiled slightly over at him, giving him a wave. Did his cousin know that he had been here? Well now he did. When Her friends came over he smiled and did his best to be ‘social’ well it was pretty easy given that one of her friends had been a girl, and gorgeous at that. He could never resist a girl like that. He caught sight of a blonde girl at the bar and smiled over at her before turning his attention back to Carter and Kayla. Uh hi was all he said while looking at them both, his eyes lingering on Kayla a little while longer. so, got any dirt on Aubrey? he laughed. He didn’t usually crack a joke, and when he did they were often bad.
When the blonde dude came over, talking about the girls liking to switch things up he grinned. Well I guess I would have no problem switching dates he said in return. Another bad joke on his behalf. Then he nodded Yeah he is my cousin he replied

She smiled, seeing Carter always put a big smile on her face, she put it down to him just being so fun. They were kind of similar in a few ways. They had both fallen for their best friends, childhood friend and they had sort of similarities in their personalities. Well I hate to boost your ego, but you totally are she grinned. She really could not deny it, because saying he did not look hot would have been a lie. Then again she always thought Carter looked good. If she hadn’t known him for so long, well since Freshman year she would have been just one of the girls with a crush on him because she knew there were girls who liked him and even still did. Of course you have a hot date tonight, she is me she smiled at him. Joking around with Carter the way they did was just one of the many reasons which made him so awesome. There had never been anything between them, maybe a little flirting occasionally but certainly not now. She remembered how he had been when Aidan had broken up with her, helping her just forget all that shit. He had been a great friend.
She burst into laughter when he mentioned ‘Cartyla’ Okay so I am gonna sound sooo lame right now, just know that if you tell anyone, I will hunt you down and kill you she laughed but her eyes looked serious. So I was bored in the dorm the other day because I was still on ‘bed rest’ she said using air quotes. I decided to flick through one of Kait’s lame ass celebrity gossip magazines right, and they all have abbreviated names for celebrity couples. So like Brangelina.... she pretended to gag is Brad Pittand Angelina Jolie, and TomKat.....Katie and Tom Cruise she explained. You and Tim would be Tarter....how awesome is that....Aidan and I Kaidan she grinned. Oh, she knew how lame she sounded right now and couldn’t help but laugh at herself, she didn’t like to admit things like that usually but when she did at least she would take the piss out of herself and laugh about it easily. She then laughed again when Carter talked about escorts and puffed his chest out, it was funny that he thought he looked so cool, but he knew as well as her it had been lame. She still found it cute though.
Maybe so, but It’ll give me chance to hang out with my other friends she smiled. That she was glad about because she needed to catch up with them, it would give her a chance to see some people she hadn’t seen in a while too. She couldn’t remember the last time she saw Neil. She rolled her eyes slightly, more at herself than anyone else. Well you know what I mean. I didn’t think I’d mess anything up exactly, more like what X choses to say. But I know Timmy trusts you, and you love him, plus I love Aidan...and he trusts me even though he gets jealous, which is lame....but I do too....I’m gonna stop talking now. she laughed. She really did not care about what X had to say, or what anyone else thought, but if either Timmy or Aidan thought there was something more to tonight, that was what she cared about. I sound so lame right now! she laughed. Forget I said anything she smiled. Seemed to have it in for everyone at the high school and layed into her and her friends especially which she just found really lame.
She grinned at him. That would work perfectly she smirked. If you can make him jealous, that would be fun, he seems that type she nodded. He isn’t my boyfriend so I don’t know what the problem is she exclaimed. She would never really know why he seemed jealous of Aidan. Aidan had a reason to be kind of jealous of Jay, maybe not to the extent of how he was, but still....at least he had a good reason. I kinda just want to annoy him and push his buttons she laughed. Just because it’s funny she said. As long as you totally don’t mind, we both know the boundaries though she said smiling. She wasn’t going to do anything that would cross that and she knew Carter wouldn’t either or let her.
When they went over to Bree, they got introduced to her ‘date’ or date...she didn’t know but she smiled anyway. Wait, you mean he's related to Derek? Wow is there enough room for another Whitfield? she joked. she laughed when Nathaniel asked about dirt on her friend she laughed and looked at Bree I may have some dirt, doesn't mean I'll share it she smirked. When Bree asked about Aidan and Tim she replied Well I knew Aidan would only go for me, and I saw no point, plus I wanted to hang with my friends and see everyone, and Tim, well I dunno if Tim would go to something like this would he? So we decided to come together so that I had someone to go with. she laughed and then smiled when she said they looked good. Yeah Carter is going to be the next James Bond after the other guy....what’s his name? Craig Daniel? she said. She then shook her head Nah that isn’t sad, just don’t go all completely girlie on me she laughed.
She then felt someone come over and lean on her, looking over she saw Gary and rolled her eyes slightly. Yeah you look totally lame....uh I mean cool she laughed at him. At the mention of switching things up, she just rolled her eyes. Yeah well, I guess some people are going to talk about us after no matter who we bring. She then laughed at Nathaniel’s comment. Aww sorry I’m not gonna share Carter tonight, not unless Timmy comes anyway she laughed. You two look good together anyway knew her friends would know who she was talking about and It wasn’t that she cared about what that person thought, just that she didn’t like it being blogged about because it was her business and he would obviously just make it out to be something else like he always did. When she saw Jay come over she rolled her eyes some and looked from Bree to Carter, nudging him. shit, that is just great she mumbled. He complimented Bree first and then looked at her. Yeah....um well I always do don’t I she said trying to sound nonchalant, as if she it didn’t bother him that he had come around. She then just shook her head at him looking completely confused. What had Carter ever done to him? She took in a breath, she hated that the slightest thing could get her annoyed, especially someone like him. Dude chill okay? Carter wanted to come to the party and Tim didn’t so I offered myself as his date she said casually once she had calmed down a little Anyway, what’s the deal dude? You jealous? she smirked at him. why?
OOC wow, apparently I have Kayla muse, and it's a little bouncy

Britney had heard about a party going on at the Hilton from Andre, and he had asked if she wanted to go. Brit wasn’t really a ‘party person’ but since she had already let her friend down in one way, she said yes because she didn’t want to disappoint him. She had been getting ready and taken a shower. So far she hadn’t had any of her coke stash, but there was always time for that. She looked at the clock. Andre was picking her up soon, so she had to be ready. She looked at herself in the mirror and sighed. Maybe it was a good thing that he was making her go, she needed to get out more and maybe it would take her mind of wanting the drugs, but then would she have withdrawals? She sighed thinking about it, this was all very hard for her, but she was really trying. There was no promising that she would make it through the night without the drugs but she could try and fight the urge to want them and just have a good time and meet some new people. The only people she knew in the town really were Andre and her sisters and she had been here since summer!
She came downstairs and fixed herself a drink, sweating a little bit because she was so nervous. Both her sisters had commented on how good she looked. Thanks, are you sure you don’t want to come? she asked them. Free food and drinks! she smiled. Her sisters smiled and shook their heads. That was fair enough, they didn’t really have much reason to go anyway. She then remembered that she had forgotten her purse upstairs so had to go grab it. That was when she got the urge to slip into her drawer beside her bed and get the little bag of white powder that she was trying to avoid. She put it quickly into her purse, looked in the mirror and smiled at herself. Well this was going to be a first since high school, going to a party. She had been quite popular in her time before getting into drugs, Andre and her had always been super close though and now that she had told him about her problem, she admired him even more. She had to admire the fact that he had always been there for him.
The doorbell rang and she went to answer it, smiling when she saw Andre there. Hay!! Wow you look awesome! she grinned and hugged him. Okay, I’m off now she said going over to hug each of her sisters in turn. Don’t have too much fun without me now! she laughed, not really noticing how lame that sounded, but Brit wasn’t the type who wanted to be ‘cool’ anymore, she just wanted her old self back, the Britney who wasn’t into drugs, the person who was better than the person she had become. But that Britney had to find a way out of this new girl who had taken over, or more so who had been taken over by the drugs. She said bye to her sisters and waved before going outside. Are we driving or getting a cab? she asked him. She knew he often drove but didn’t know if tonight would be any different and having flunked out at the end of her junior year, Britney didn’t actually have a car, but she had her licence. She just needed enough money to buy her car and that was hard for her with her addiction. She got in the car, and waited for him to get in the other side. She was rather apprehensive about the night ahead of them.
OOC//not my best, but this one is just a starter.

Neil had been trying to get in contact with his friends all day, he had no idea what had been going on, he couldn’t seem to be able to get hold of any of them and it was annoying him. He was bored and had the day off work, and well since it was a Saturday it was even better because it meant he had the night off too. He normally worked pretty much every day of the week, depending on his hours, it varied but this week he had been given the weekend off since it alternated between the employees’s. He was glad of the fact, but he hadn’t realised till the last minute and now he couldn’t make plans because all his friends were out. Even his roommate was out. He had to say, Addi seemed like a nice girl and he was glad to have her around for company, but sometimes she would sneak around and come in late. He had been there and done that. He wanted to question her but figured she was young, and plus she didn’t work as much as she did so that was okay for her, he had just let it slide.
He did however, find it slightly weird that he could not get in contact of hardly any of his friends, but he figured they would just be busy, he just did not know that most of them were busy setting up for his ‘surprise party’ He didn’t think that something bad would have happened. He wasn’t a worrier like that and he wasn’t going to start now. It was just a little strange though. He tried Gary’s phone again and thought he had picked up but it went to voicemail. Well that was just great, he was going to have such a fun weekend alone, unless his roommate wanted to hang with him. He then smiled to himself and got his phone out again and texted him. He knew she was out so he’d just ask her if she wanted to hang out and stop off and pick up pizza before she came home. hay wanna get pizza and a movie? You provide pizza I’ll get the movie He kind of thought that it sounded lame but it was a text and at least he was trying to do something instead of doing nothing but watching ESPN which he was doing now.
He hoped that she would text back soon but she hadn’t done yet. He was really hoping that she would. It wasn’t like she was his last resort, or last choice, anything like that he just really wanted to hang out with someone. Surely if his friends had plans they would have wanted to include him? All his senior friends had bailed and that meant that he only had his friends who were in Junior year last year, mostly guys from the team, his roommates and of course Bree. He felt bad how they had kind of drifted apart since they had been close, but it had made him get over her which was a good thing. It meant that they could now just be friends and he knew that was a really good thing, because he knew that she hadn’t wanted him, he had made himself get over him the best he could, and he did it. His secret would never be revealed, unless one of his friends ever let it slip, or even Preston. He knew the guy knew and the two had never seen eye to eye....but he hoped that wouldn’t happen and if it did, he hoped that it wouldn’t be weird for her.

- - - - - - - - - - - - Addison Brennan rubbed her eyes as she swung her feet off of her bed. She'd had a rough night, and having taken the day off of work, she had become more tired than necessary and had decided to take a quick nap. She was glad she'd at least set an alarm, otherwise she would be in too much of a rush to function properly. She got up, pulling on a random pair of jeans and a tee, slipping her feet into shoes and grabbing her keys. She knew Neil was home, so she knew she had to actually sneak out. She tiptoed through the house, opening and closing the front door as quietly as she could before heading to her car. She drove out to the main town, looking for a good place to get Neil a gift. Yes, she was very last minute, but she knew what she wanted to get. Something simple, and would last a very long time. She parked outside a possible store, walking inside to look around. Hopefully this would be the only place she would have to visit.
She walked down a couple of the aisles, looking. Ah, perfect!! She picked up a black and copper colored shot glass, looking it over. She hated shopping for guys, and this was really the only thing she had thought of to get him. Hopefully he liked it. She had the woman behind the counter wrap it for her, just so she wouldn't have to bother with it when she got home. While she waited, her phone buzzed. A message from Neil. She smiled softly, texting back a quick reply. Actually.. the club downtown is having this big themed night, dress up all fancy and stuff.. I wanted you to go with me. If you're up for it..? Catch is we'd have to be all dolled up in about an hour. She knew she'd have to try hard to make him believe getting all nicely dressed was really for the club. That and she couldn't help but want to see him all snazzy. She knew he'd look good. That was just a stone cold fact. And she was pleasantly surprised on how well everyone was keeping the party a complete secret. She did hope he wasn't feeling abandoned or anything though.
Addi took her gift, paying for it and walking back out to her car. She really hoped the night would go well. She drove home, hiding her gift in her purse as she stepped into the house. "Neil!! I'm back!!" She headed up to her bedroom, picking out what she was going to wear for the night. She wanted to stand out, which made sense seeing as she was bringing in the guest of honor. She shut the door to her room, slipping out of her boring clothes and into the bright blue dress she'd bought a few days earlier. She arranged her hair loosely in a soft bun, with a few tendrils waving down to frame her face. She placed her accessories on, slipping her feet into her silver heels. This was going to be a big night, and she wanted to make an impression. She was sure a few of the people at the party knew about her problems, seeing as she tended to get a bit off her rocker when she was high.
She walked to the bathroom, quickly brushing a light layer of silver over her eyelids, some mascara and a dash of lip gloss. She put her gift, her phone, some cash and her keys into her silver clutch, walking down to the main room of the house. She couldn't keep the look of awe off of her face as she saw how handsome the birthday boy looked. "You look great... I hope no one gets too jealous." She giggled, signaling she was joking around. Although, it wouldn't be surprising if some of the guys there were jealous. Or any of the girls for that matter. She had tried hard to make everything perfect, even going so far to order a classy black sedan to drive them to the hotel. She happily slid into the car, waiting for it to arrive. She grinned, turning to her roomie as they neared the hotel. "So um.. there's a twist to this.. you have to be blindfolded as we go in. Apparently all the guys have to be before walking in." She didn't know if he'd believe that or not, but it was going to happen. She tied a black silk blindfold over his eyes as they pulled up, taking his hand to help him inside the hotel. She signaled the others to show they were there, waiting for the best time to remove the cover in his eyes.

Sinking deeper into the cushions of the couch he squirmed around a bit until he was comfortable with one arm hanging over the back of the couch as his other was propped up on the arm rest so he wouldn’t have to do too much work to bring the glass in his hand to his lips; the blonde who was blatantly staring at him caught his attention. One of his eyebrows slowly started rise up and away from its normal resting place, and his head dipped to the side slightly as he kept his hazel eyes directed at her eyes. The scowl she was directing at him made the corner of his mouth stretch out, a smirk starting to take over his features as he didn’t look away from her; why she was looking at him that way he wasn’t sure but it made him fell all tingly inside, he’d already upset someone and he hadn’t even done anything yet. Watching her retreating backside he took the opportunity to give her the once over, his head dipped to the side slightly as his shoulders rose and then fell; he wasn’t impressed but she wasn’t terrible to look at.
Nestling in deeper into his spot in the couch he turned attention from the group that was starting to form around the bar, bringing his glass to his lips he tilted it upwards so the liquid would run over the rim of the glass and into his mouth. He swallowed what was in his mouth as he lowered the glass and caught two figures entering the ballroom. His eyes flitted between the two as grew more and more narrow, his eyebrows pulling together causing the crease between them to deepen; Derek wasn’t surprised Aubrey had shown up, he had thought she’d mentioned being friends with Neil once before, but the man escorting her was a total surprise. With gritted teeth and a clenched jaw he kept glaring at the pair, his cousin and Aubrey Jenkins standing side by side just didn’t sit right with him. He remained unmoving, except for his hand rotating the glass in his hand in a circle to stir up the liquid inside; even as the two of them each sent a smile in his direction, he scoffed at the wave his cousin had sent his way. Rolling his eyes the annoyed look remained on his face once they returned to the pair, ignoring the addition of Kayla and Carter to the group. ”What a great night this is turning out to be.” Derek muttered under his breath, and with no one being anywhere near him he was suddenly talking to himself. He brought his glass to his lips again and tilted his head back shooting what was left inside back, forcing it all down; the knots in his stomach becoming more and more apparent as he suddenly felt hot under the collar, he tugged as his collar and cleared his throat to try to fight off the feeling but it still remained. His blood was starting to boil, but he couldn’t just march over and tell them both how he felt sick to his stomach at the sight of them together; he rolled his neck and did his best to keep his eyes averted and look anywhere but in their direction.
His eyes were about to once again fall on the two of them but they rested on the brunette who’d snuck in with an enormous bag, a very welcome distraction. His eyes trailed after as she disappeared behind a door, his head leaning to the side to try and peek inside but he was too far away to actually see inside. Derek let out a heavy sigh as the door closed and completely obstructed his view, he rubbed the back of his neck and waited for her emerge again. From the quick glance he’d been permitted she looked rather attractive from the distance he was at, he’d have to move in and inspect this one up close to be sure. The knots in his stomach had straightened themselves out and he wasn’t as riled up as he had been; thinking over how worked up he’d gotten he wasn’t sure why he cared who Aubrey decided to have on her arm, but he’d rather if she’d want a Whitfield it’d be him before any other one. The door opening shook him from his thoughts and he sat up straighter in his seat, watching as she made her way towards the bar; apparently most people were planning on getting drunk to enjoy themselves tonight. When she looked in his direction Derek raised his hand in the air and waggled his fingers in the form of a wave as he rose up from his spot on the couch.
Crossing the room he made his way over to her, sliding his watered down glass of scotch on the surface of bar; reaching across her to do so. Extending his index finger at the glass as he locked eyes with the bartender as an indicator for a refill, he backed away from the brunette to give her some space. He pursed his lips together as he stuck his still extended index finger into her face, his eyes narrowed as he looked her over. ”Have we met before?” Derek wasn’t trying for some cheesy pick up line just suddenly being able to examine her up close he found that there was something very familiar about her; letting out a heavy sigh he ran his hand over his hair, tugging at the ends as his gaze dropped from her to his shoes. His head shook from side to side as he started to shake ever so slightly with laughter, a cold soft chuckle escaping his lips before her finally returned his gaze to her face. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the brightest shade of red and out stretched his arm, his hand sliding up Caleigh’s back and pulled her in closer. It perched on her shoulder near the base of her neck, gently massaging the space, but not looking away from the blue eyed brunette that still stood before him. Reaching across her again he took hold of the newly filled glass of scotch that sat waiting for him, once again he returned to standing upright and chancing a quick glance at Caleigh just so he could look out of the corner of his eye to see he could see what Aubrey was doing. Not wanting to make it obvious he didn’t strain his neck and instead looked past Caleigh at Charlie, ”there you are Charlotte…I ditched you didn’t I? Hmmm…what is that one saying Caleigh?” Biting down on his lower lip gently he held up his glass and extended his middle finger pointing it at Charlie as he looked deep in thought trying to figure out what he was trying to say, when it came to him his head rose and fell slowly. ”C’est la vie.” He didn’t even attempt to try to add a French accent on as he said the words, and was quick to turn back to the brunette his glass and finger now in her face. ”So have you figured out how I know you?” It wouldn’t be a stretch to say she could’ve been one of the many notches in his bedpost but the longer he stood there in front of her the more he wasn’t getting that vibe from her, and he was going to leave it up to her figure out this for the two of them.

"You may hate it but I love the ego boosts so keep them up will ya?" He was just joking as he couldn't help but smirk at her. Carter was never the type to crave attention, actually he did what he could to stay out of the spotlight, but one on one he never minded getting fed compliment after compliment. It all really depended on who he was with, and since kayla was one of his best girl friends he didn't mind all too much. "Oh, I see what you did right there, boost my ego just so you could turn around and boost your own," he shook his head disappointed though the corners of his lips said otherwise as they were still curved up in a smile.
When he heard the words hunt down and kill you his face became all serious, what in the world was she talking about, and when she started to talk about the celebrities he burst out laughing. He just couldn't help himself, this was hilarious as she stood before him explaining herself, but now he could understand why she had said Cartyla. He laughed when she mentioned Tarter, "awesome? Should I be excited that our name is something that gets put on fish?" He thought about it and had to give it to her, it was a pretty good one if she had came up with it herself. "Well at least you're not stuck on bedrest anymore so you can get out and actually do stuff, and since that stuff is with me that makes it super awesome, better than anything Kaidan could come up with," he smirked as he used the name she'd just said would be her's and Aidan's.
He nodded when she said she'd be able to hang with friends, "weren't you all one big group before you guys got together?" He remembered seeing the four of them always hanging out, and now they never seemed together around campus, or at least not when he ran into them which was only on occassion. "I doubt there's anything that X can say that'd mess things up, or at least not unless Aidan doesn't trust you, and considering your date I don't think he has too much of a problem. You're gorgeous and all but we both know my eyes are set on one person, how fricken lame is that? Not even out of high school and i'm ready to settle down and spend the rest of my life with one person," he shrugged, it sounded stupid saying it like that, but at the same time he was glad that he'd found Tim so soon so he could spend as much time with him from now on. "Getting jealous is just a part of life, not something to be ashamed of." He was sure he'd get jealous too if he saw Tim hanging and talking to someone else, but for now he tried to hide all those feelings.
"He sounds like a tool," he rolled his eyes not sure who she meant, but he also knew that he'd be able to figure it out before long. "I can do my best, which i'm sure will do the trick, and yes I know the boundaries, not going to cross them tonight, no worries." He thought it was cute that she was worried about crossing boundaries, and yet she wanted to still make him jealous and push his buttons. "I don't mind at all, honestly." He thought it was actually kind of fun to push peoples buttons, so if he could do it he'd be glad to help. He followed her lead taking stride beside her over to Bree and her date, who turned out to be another Whitfield, and he just laughed shaking his head some. When asked about Tim Carter looked around at everyone and brought his attention back to the group he'd been in, "I don't really think this is his scene," all he could remember was when he complained about his shoes being uncomfortable during New Years Eve, so Carter was sure he wouldn't want to slip back into them anytime soon. "For once Bond could get to be american," he chuckled looking around once more trying to figure out the people that had been here.
He had been lost in his own world before he heard Kayla crack the joke about her not sharing him, "I think he met he wouldn't mind switching for you," he chuckled and then looked at Bree for a second, "I don't think your date could handle me Whitfield," he grinned as he gave Bree a wink to let her know he was joking around, and that is when he heard another addition to the group that caused him to look over at a new blonde there. He didn't mind Gary coming over, but honestly did Jay seriously need to find his way around the room so quickly? He instantly knew that was the guy that Kayla had been talking about, and as his eyes rested to glare at him Carter just chuckled as he heard the insulting tone. "Something funny?" He asked cocking a brow as he heard the snicker, "Leave Tim out of this," he rolled his eyes not caring all too much that Jay was there, but if he had to jab at Tim to try to get at Kayla Carter would have none of that. Apparantly he forgot where he stood on the social status ladder, and had Carter been in good with his family he could put all the Ellwood's right in their place.

From his perch on Kayla’s shoulder Gary let out a heavy sigh, his eyes slid shut while his head shook from side to side. Standing back up at his full height his eyelids sprang open and he looked down at the blue eyed brunette next to him, the corners of his mouth spreading out his lips gave way to show off a broad grin. ”You’re always ready to tell me like it is, aren’t you Kayla? Well I don’t believe you.” Crossing his arms over his chest, careful not to spill the martini he still clung to in one hand, his tongue darted out of his mouth to keep up with his child like defiance he had going on. Catching sight of another person joining the group out of his peripheral vision he turned his attention in their direction, narrowing his eyes as he looked his best friend over; there was something about his attitude that had changed all the sudden and he bit on his lower lip gently trying to figure out what had brought it on. His pale blue studied the taller blonde male, noting his attention wasn’t even on Aubrey when he addressed her; Gary’s eyes quickly darted to the other brunette women and he quickly shook off the serious face that had taken over. His face brightened up as his lips spread out, the grin that was taking over reaching his eyes. ”You do look stunning. And Kayla you do as well…couple of knock outs.” His eyes darted between the two girls as he addressed them both, his eyes falling on the boy next to Aubrey as he answered his question. Gary nodded his head slowly, pursing his lips as he once more glanced over in Darius’ direction before returning his attention to the group that he was immersed in. His head dipped to the side a bit, one side of his mouth turning up in a halfhearted smile. ”Well let’s see how far the apple from the tree, so far you two are already different. I don’t think I’ve said a word to him and here we are already cracking jokes with each other.”
His attention was drawn back to Jay at the snarky comment that had slipped out of his mouth, his eyebrows drew together the crease deepening between as his head shook in disappointment at his best friend; he knew he was better than that and yet he was being blatantly rude to someone who didn’t deserve it. His head swiveled in Carter and Kayla’s direction as spoke in turn in response to Jay’s comment, rubbing the back of his neck kept looking between the trio waiting for this to get as worse as he thought it could. He took a step forward and placed himself in between them all before anyone could throw the first punch, ”whoa…whoa…let’s all relax take a deep breath, this is a party. I guess I forgot to put on the invitations check your drama at the door but I’m telling you now…” Locking eyes with Jay the second he started speaking he didn’t even glance at the other two, he knew who’d started this but his motives for doing so were something Gary just couldn’t understand. He reached out with his free hand and snatched Jay’s glass from his hand, ”…you’re cut off big guy. And if you can’t get along just avoid each other, this place looks big enough and why ruin Neil’s party?” Gary’s lips curled up as his head swiveled in every direction looking at each one in turn, ”alright well…you better all behave or I’ll find a corner for you to sit in.” He shuffled both glasses into one hand so he could point his eyes with his index and middle finger before pointing them at each person around him, even Aubrey and her date hadn’t been involved in awkward situation.
”You should all stop standing here, and go in and do something. Have fun and be ready for the birthday boy.” Before departing from the group he turned once more in Jay’s direction, his eyebrow shooting up as he locked eyes with him. As he started on his way back towards the bar he stopped midstride and caught the two figures who were stepping through the door, his quickly darted and he was glad to see that he wasn’t the only one who had taken notice to the birthday boy’s arrival. A grin broke out across his face as he waited for the blindfold to be removed from Neil’s eyes; the second he saw it was his arms hot up in the arm, the liquid still in the glasses he was holding sloshing over the sides and almost falling on him but thankfully it missed and fell to the ground. ”SURPRISE!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY NEIL!” He bellowed out with the others and was about to rush over and properly greet his friend but he recalled the two glasses that he was still holding onto tightly, first he’d go stop off at the bar and free up his hands. Rushing to the bar, and glancing over his shoulder, he wasn’t aware of the figure that he was about to run into. Stumbling backwards after the initial collision Gary first glanced down at his suit to be sure he hadn’t suddenly drenched any part of it and once again thankful it’d all landed on the floor, his pale blue eyes looked up to see Charlie standing in front of him. Gary’s tongue darted out of his mouth and ran over his lower lip before the corners of his lips stretched out and towards his ears as he bent at the torso to lean in closer to her. ”Well well Charlotte North, fancy running into you.” Before carrying on he stepped around her and placed both martini glasses on top of the bar before turning back around to look at her, ”stay, talk a while…didn’t you come in with Darius? Doesn’t seem like a very good date…” Gary’s eyes darted to the spot he’d last seen Darius at but not finding him there he scanned the rest of the room until they fell on him, ”Darius I’ll be stealing your date.” There came no reply not even any recognition from the brunette male who was now focused on the entertainment for the night and the blonde in red, Gary shook his head and sighed heavily before looking once again at Charlotte.

Jay couldn’t help but smirk when Kayla said that she always looked good. Had she been anyone else he would have had something to say, but she was right, in Jay’s eyes she always did look good. Raising his martini glass, he nodded at Kayla. ”I can’t argue with that one.” Taking a sip from his glass, Jay enjoyed the smooth burn down the back of his throat. Vodka wasn’t his drink of choice, but tonight it would work just fine. When in Rome, do as, or in this case when at a James Bond themed party drink Martini’s. Nodding in agreement with his best friend, Jay looked both girls over again. Of all the girls that had arrived at the party, Bree and Kayla were, by far, the most beautiful girls. Maybe he was just being partial, but Jay knew that no one in the room could hold a candle next to Kayla, except maybe Bree. A confused look fell on Jay’s face when he watched Gary look in Darius’ direction before looking at Bree’s date. There was no way that kid was related to him, was he? Jay threw up his hand, waving it back and forth, trying to get Gary to stop talking for a second. ”Wait, are you saying that this kid is related to Darius?” Jay looked over at the couch studying him for a second trying to see some sort of resemblance, but the alcohol was making it hard for Jay to concentrate long enough to draw some sort of conclusion. Shaking his head, Jay looked back at the group, focusing on Bree’s date. ”Bree what is with you and the Whitfield’s?” He shrugged, laughing a little. At least this one didn’t look like a total asshole. Maybe Gary was right.
Hearing Carter speak, Jay turned his gaze towards the blonde, not quite glaring at him, but not smiling either. ”Yeah bro, it’s funny that you left your man at home to go on a date with a girl. Embarrassed?” Jay wondered exactly how Carter’s parents had taken the news that their son was in love with his best friend. The thought was beginning to amuse him, he almost wished that he had been a fly on that wall. If the Andrew’s had been anything like the Ellwoods, something like that just would not have gone over very well, or at all. Looking over at Kayla, Jay let out a snicker. ”Of Carter? No…nope, not even a little.” He shook his head. Jay hadn’t been lying, it wasn’t Carter he was actually jealous of, it was just the thought that she was there with someone in general. ”Speaking of boyfriends though, where’s yours?” It took everything inside Jay not to ask if he was out cheating on her with some skank, but he knew that he was already skating on thin ice with her. Jay was actually surprised that Kayla was talking to him at this point. After their fight at the pool, she had been staying as far away from him as she possibly could which wasn’t always easy when you lived in the same dorm.
Glaring at his best friend as he stepped between him and Carter, Jay looked over his head with ease, one of the perks of being almost half a foot taller than Gary. Smirking, Jay looked back down at Gary, their blue eyes locking on each other. Raising his eyebrow, Jay didn’t like the insinuation that his best friend was making even though he knew that he was the one who had started it all. Jay had to get control of himself and quick. This wasn’t an angel party, it wasn’t some lame high school party, it was a party for their friend. Jay knew better than to behave like he was raised by a pack of wolves, but there was just something eating away at him and it was causing him to lose all self control when it came to his attitude. Letting out a sigh, Jay ran his free hand through his blonde hair before looking back over at Carter. ”You’re right Gary, my bad. My apologies Carter, to you and Tim.” A small smirk fell on his lips. It wasn’t the most sincere of apologies, but he had made the effort and in Jay’s mind that’s what had counted. Raising his glass to take a sip, he was cut off by Gary grabbing his glass from his hand. ”What the..” His head snapping down towards Gary, Jay just shook his head, a smile on his face. He knew his best friend meant well and for now he’d play his little game, but Gary taking his glass wasn’t going to keep him from getting another drink eventually.

Bree grinned looking at her date for the night and nodded, "well let's hope you're not too much alike, that might be a little weird," she could tell that him and Derek were not all that alike, but that was a good thing as far as she was concerned. There was only room for one Derek in her life. "It's for one of my closest friends, yes, and you'll meet a whole handful of people tonight. Neil, the guy the parties for, is awesome too so i'm hoping I can introduce you to him sometime tonight, but since he's the main man i'm guessing he's going to be busy all the time," she shrugged, it didn't really matter since she'd just get him to mingle with other worthy people.
"Know him pretty well?" She shook her head laughing some with a bright grin, "the man is a vault, I know only what he tells me, and it's not that much," though she figured the more she hung out with him the easier it'd be to get information, and now that Nathaniel was in town it'd be even easier than before. "Oh, no, it's alright if him and I don't see each other tonight, I don't even know if he'll be around or not, it's not really his scene." He was a friend of Neil's though so there was a chance, "and trust me, i'm sure he'd be able to resist if he wanted to," she chuckled looking down at her outfit wondering if it in fact was something that'd turn Derek's head, not that she cared though secretly she hoped it could. "Oh yeah, I can only imagine the stories that you have in that head of yours."
She grinned when he said Derek must like her in some way, "I hope so, it'd be a waste of a couple of years if we didn't come out of school as friends," she shrugged laughing at how their entire conversation had been about Derek so far. "I should stop talking about Derek now, I guess it's just so easy since he's common ground for us, I don't really know much else about you, but that's going to change right?" She had no problem getting to know him more, and actually looked forward to it. As they stepped into the building she swore she'd leave all talk of Derek at the door, but that was short lived as she'd seen him almost instantly after they had gotten into the ballroom. She noticed the wave out of the corner of her eye and just grinned returning her attention to Nathaniel before she could see the annoyed look from Derek, and soon her friends were by her and Nate's side.
Derek seemed to be in all conversations tonight as Kayla asked Bree if it were true their relation, and she just laughed and nodded looking at Nate, "as if you couldn't tell right?" She wanted to ruffle her hands through the guys hair, but she wasn't sure if that would be a smart thing to do, so instead she linked arms with Nate since he was probably overwhelmed with people. "So far this Whitfield's harmless, so i'd say there's more than enough room, wouldn't you Nate?" She asked bringing him into the conversation since it'd been focused around him. She chuckled and winked at Kayla when she heard Nathaniel ask about dirt, "this girl could write a book with all the crazy shit we've gotten into," it was the truth though and she wouldn't trade it for the world. "I think Carter's a good enough date though, cute all dressed up," she smirked teasing Carter as she watched him roll his eyes. Bree shrugged messing with her hair some, "I have no idea, honest, even ask Neil, I was terrible with all things Bond."
Hearing Jay come around caused Bree to ignore him, most everything out of his mouth was absolute nonsense, so she turned her attention to Nate standing there. "If you want you can go say hi to Derek, I don't think he's all that happy," she motioned towards him at the bar, but since he was around the girls she knew his mood would soon turn for the better. "Anything you want to be doing right now?" She asked casually as she heard the whispers that Neil was soon coming on. "Yay, come on," She took Nate's hand and pulled him some so she could get a better view of her friend coming in, and when he was in the door she joined in with everyone else. "SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! WOOHOO!" She cheered excited as she saw Neil's bewildered face, and she laughed as she turned her attention back to Nate, "I love surprise parties, don't you?"

Neil waited for the reply from Addi. He would have rather stayed in than going to a club that night....he decided to go along with it just because she had wanted to do it, he didn’t usually ask questions, maybe that was where he failed. He just usually went with things without questioning because he was a good guy and didn’t like arguments or confrontations and avoided them at all costs. He wasn’t the type to go looking for a fight at all. When he was on drugs he had been such a different person, and he had hated who he had been, so had his friends. He hadn’t really seen his parents in that stage of his life and he knew that they wouldn’t have liked it. Ever since his father had married his step mother he had avoided that house because he did not want to be around her. There was something that he didn’t like about her. Having a massive wedding when it was his dads second marriage. She was always making his father spend lots of money, and he knew that he was wanting to retire soon. Neil had warned him about her but he just would not listen so he had basically thought ‘fuck it’ and had been ignoring anything to do with his father. He could do without him and didn’t need or want him around if he was going to listen to the bitch instead of his own son, which was messed up.
When Addi came in and saw him, saying he looked great, he smiled thanks she smiled at him. You look great too he told her honestly. She really did look amazing as well, definitely a knock out. He smiled at her when she mentioned people getting jealous Well we could make all the guys and girls jealous with both of us tonight he grinned at her. Having Addi as a roommate was awesome. He liked sharing with girls, even though there were certain things that had annoyed him. Sharing with Kayla had been really fun; she was great company....so was Kait and he even missed them around some of the time, then there were times where he was kind of glad they weren’t around because he knew Kayla had a wicked sense of humour, she was the type who would tease someone for a while and not let it go, he could make some pretty idiotic mistakes and she knew that she liked to make fun, but in all good fun, unless she didn’t like the person she never really meant to offend anyone, it was just how she was, her friends knew that though so it was all okay.
He looked confused when he saw that she had ordered a car to take them to the club. It seemed a little much but he shrugged, not asking any questions. He didn’t want to offend her. Blindfolded? he asked her confused. Once again he went along with it and let her blindfold her. He wondered what kind of club they were going to, he didn’t know everything about her so he hoped she wasn’t into some weird type of club. This is a normal nightclub isn’t it? he asked her, trying not to sound rude. He really didn’t want to come across that was since they were still getting to know each other. He wasn’t that type of person to be rude, but he just wanted to make sure. He didn’t want to go if it wasn’t a normal club....of course he had no idea it was actually for his own birthday party. He walked in and heard people shout ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY’ and took his blindfold off with a big grin on his face. He really wasn’t expecting it at all. He saw everyone come over and greet him and made sure that he gave handshakes and hugs all round. He was really happy his friends had made such an effort. He smiled when Bree came over nearer to where the crowd was. Wow thanks guys. I really was not expecting this....I just....wow he was kind of speechless, he knew his friends must have gone into a lot of effort for it.

hmm I don’t think we are that similar he shrugged. He wouldn’t want to say that he and his cousin were very much a like. They may have similarities but he was pretty sure they did have some differences too, didn’t everyone though? They couldn’t be completely alike but he knew they were pretty similar, whether he would admit that to her or not. ohh uhh that is cool was all he said about it being for her closest friends. He did think it was cool but he didn’t really know what else to say besides that, he wasn’t someone who liked to enter into much conversation and it seemed she was the complete opposite.
he must tell you more things than he tells other people though he said. Derek doesn’t just hang around with anyone. He knew his cousin was probably just as unsociable as him, he couldn’t see him hanging around many people at all. He nodded when she spoke about Derek, he wouldn’t mind if she wanted to talk to him, but he kind of wanted her to stay with her. Are you sure about that? he asked with a smile. He found it hard to believe that he would be able to resist her, especially when she was dressed like that. Yeah, he would kill me if I told you he smirked.
He shrugged Yeah, I guess it would. People at my old school were dumb mostly so I never really bothered to make friends he told her. He had to admit that he was having a completely different view on people around Jackson high. Apart from his roommate, he wasn’t really keen on her....he just liked tormenting her. I guess so he answered to it changing about her not knowing anything about him. He wouldn’t know what to tell her though and he felt a little awkward about it because he wasn’t really someone who liked to talk a lot and here she was wanting to know things about him and he couldn’t even tell her.
He smiled and shrugged when Bree said there was enough room for him and Derek If you say so he told her. He then smirked when she told him that her friend could write a book on the stuff they had done together. Well when you write it and it gets published I will be at the front of the line wanting a sighed copy at your signing he told her. He noticed that Bree was ignoring Derek, so he thought he might as well do the same. He did kind of want to question what he meant about the ‘whitfield’ comment, though. He sounded too much like a smart ass though for Nathaniel to get involved with him.
uhh sure he said with a nod, but shrugged when he asked if there was anything he wanted to do right now. He didn’t really know, he tried thinking of something just so he could answer her but then was dragged off to where the crowd was. Everyone was saying ‘happy birthday’ and since he didn’t know him, Nathan felt kind of stupid. He looked at Bree when she said she loved surprise parties. He wasn’t a fan so he shook his head slightly.

She rolled her eyes slightly in a playful way. Oh, okay...suuuure she grinned at him and laughed Should I tell you how much you remind me of the hot one in McFLY? she grinned. I think you’re actually BETTER looking though, plus I’d never get him....he is too old I guess. Unless he dates fans I have no chance she laughed. Plus I have a boyfriend she shrugged. Hmmmm I wonder what else I could say she said to herself more than him as she thought about compliments. Hay...you can’t blame me, I am just that kind of person she smirked at him. Kayla knew she was gorgeous, but she wasn’t so up herself that she thought she was the best looking girl in the whole school. She knew that there were other girls just as pretty, if not more. I love a little ego boost for myself. It works wonders she told him with a big smile on her face. I don’t even think I am overly confident, just confident enough to make it really sexy she said with a nod. You have to agree confidence is sexy, and plus every girl likes a confident guy, so its no question that guys like confident girls she pointed out.
She burst into laughter when she mentioned that ‘Tarter’ was the name of what was put on fish. Hayy its cool you have an abrieviation of your name together. Some couples names just don’t work she laughed. Liiiikeee ummmmm, well I can’t think of anyone off the top of my head, but I am sure there are people she said as if she was sure that there was. Oh it’s definitely great to be able to get out and do things again. I was going crazy just doing virtually nothing she rolled her eyes slightly. The worst thing was everyone going to New York and I was stuck here....well Aidan stayed but that was it.....so boring she laughed. Oh is that so? she grinned I’m not sure about that one, Kaidan can be pretty damn awesome. We have gotten up to loads of crazy shit over the years. I bet you and Timmy have too, well I know that for sure she laughed. She liked to think that she knew Carter pretty well and could imagine him and Tim getting up to some cool things when they were younger. If you have known someone for that long it was something expected.
She nodded when he asked if they had been all one group Yeah, but after everything that happened last year we haven’t hung out as a group for a while. I kinda miss it but I guess shit happens she shrugged. We are all still friends though, so hopefully we can hang out and do something altogether soon oh how she was wrong. She smiled and nodded Well X can say what he wants then, if he wants a fight I won’t back down easy she said with a nod. She listened to Carter, and smiled when he said she was gorgeous, she did love to hear it, even if it was from someone who would never have those kind of feelings for her, she thought he was pretty damn hot herself, but completely platonically of course. Well if your lame, then I am too because I feel the same way she smiled and then laughed. Okay enough with the soppyness she laughed again. She didn’t deal with that kind of thing too often because she didn’t really come out and say how she felt much, but since Carter had told her that she thought she might as well tell him he wasn’t the only one ready to settle down.
uh huh, he is she nodded I swear, I was so close to punching him at the pool, UGH she frowned but it faded when Carter said that he would do his best. Thanks she grinned at him. You are truly awesome, you know that? she said to him. She really meant it as well. Carter was one of those people who was just such good fun to be around and basically the life and soul of the party. Oh I didn’t show you what I was wearing did I? she laughed and held up her right hand so he could see the bracelet he got for her birthday. It had been a joke but she kind of felt like wearing it tonight, because she is cool and awesome lame like that.
That’s me she said smiling brightly at Gary And did you really expect anything else? You should be lucky to be talking to the hottest girls in this room right now she smirked and looked at Bree. When Carter explained that Gary meant he wouldn’t mind switching to be her date she laughed OH! Well sorry, I guess you can have your chance another time she winked at him. As he excused himself she then turned her attention back to the group, she nodded when Carter said it wasn’t really Tim’s scene, she couldn’t really see him wanting to go to a party like that either. Why, is he not American? she asked Carter confused. Well damn, she had always thought that she was. I bet I sound dumb now, but honestly I really didn’t pay attention to the movies when forced to watch them by my roomie....well Neil she smiled and then laughed. I prefer horror movies, much more thrilling. She then laughed when Bree said she could write a book, and then even more at Nathaniel’s comment. Well, if I ever do write a book, which I doubt it, I’ll make sure I make a special message for you in your copy she smiled. Aww you are just too cute she commented about Nathaniel.
When Bree ignored Jay she had to smirk and make it damn obvious, well that was just too funny for her. She really needed to take tips from her in how to just ignore him, because the man had angered her way too much recently. She just rolled her eyes, trying her best to ignore him, when he mentioned Bree and the ‘Whitfield’s she raised her eyebrow and looked at him confused. That was when she couldn’t ignore him anymore. Um, I’m sorry but what is it to you? she said folding her arms. When he went on again about Carter and Tim it only made her frown more. She let out a small laugh when he said he wasn’t jealous of Carter Well something has you in a mood she said. Do I really need to explain where Aidan is to you? He didn’t want to come, because of jerks like you she frowned. When Gary came over and stepped between Carter and Jay she smiled at Gary, relieved that there wasn’t going to be a fight, then she smirked when Gary took his drink away Aww poor Jay she said pouting as if she felt sorry for him. Ugh look you scared Bree and Nathaniel away with all your bitching she frowned. When he apologised she was shocked, it almost sounded sincere. But then the smirk came up and she just shook her head. You’re not sorry at all, Jackass she said frowning. at least mean it if you are gonna say it she glared. That was when Neil came in and she shouted HAPPY BIRTHDAY along with everyone else. She wanted to go over to Neil but since he was hugging and shaking everyones hands so she stayed back.

Mia couldn’t believe that she had let Jay talk her into going to the party and maybe she wasn’t going for him, but more for Neil. Jay had been acting so strange lately that Mia was beginning to really wonder what the heck was going on with him. Add in the fact that he seemed to be drinking a bit more than usual, Mia was worried about him, well sort of. Jay was a big boy and could handle himself but what worried Mia the most was knowing what he was capable of even with the clearest of minds, being irrational could only make it a million times worse for her. Looking at her reflection in the floor length Victorian mirror Mia was grateful that they were all getting ready at the hotel and didn’t have to worry about going out in the cold night air all dressed up. A coat didn’t exactly go with the dress she was wearing, or any other dress that she owned for that matter. For Mia, it was always about fashion no matter what she was doing. Picking her diamond bracelet up off of the armoire, she carefully clasped it on her tiny wrist before gently placing each one of her earrings in her ears. Taking one last look at herself, the blonde was more than satisfied with the reflection staring back at her. If there was one thing being a model her entire life had taught her it was how to look absolutely flawless. Mia smiled at herself, she knew exactly how beautiful she looked. The difference between her and the other girls she had grown up with was that while Mia knew how beautiful she was, she didn’t go around trying to convince everyone else of what she already knew.
Looking past her reflection, Mia stared at Ash who was also getting himself ready. The mere sight of him make her stomach flutter, her heart begin to race. Even though she had known him for ten years she still found herself trying to catch her breath every time her blue eyes fell upon him. Smiling, she turned around to take a better look at Ash. ”Have I told you exactly how handsome you are Mickey?” Crossing the room, she sat down on the edge of the bed, slipping her feet into her silver shoes. ”Thank you for doing this for me. Really, I do appreciate it. I know having to deal with Jay and Gary again probably isn’t on your list of top five evenings.” Mia smiled softly at her boyfriend. Boyfriend, that was going to take some getting used to for Mia. She had dreamed about it night after night for what seemed like an eternity after Jay had broken them up well over a year ago, but now it was real. None of this was the dream she had woken up to, it was her reality and even though Mia knew at any moment Jay could try to ruin things again, for the time being she was far beyond happy. ”Are you ready to get this over with?” Standing up, Mia crossed the room, kissing Ash softly. She hated thinking so negatively about going to Neil’s party but she knew that there was a high probability that Jay would cause a scene even if they had been around their friends, or well his friends.
As they entered into the sitting room of the suite, Mia took one look at her sister, smiling. She knew how uncomfortable Pagan was to be all dressed up like another rich girl, but she looked stunning. ”Sweetie you look amazingly beautiful.” Mia crossed the room, placing a kiss on Pagan’s cheek. ”I promise it’s not as bad as it seems. We can at least gamble mother and fathers money away which will be fun.” Mia smirked. That was always a bonus in her eyes. Turning her head, Mia looked at Jacksen, taking him in. It didn’t surprise her in the least bit that he was dressed to impress. ”And you, my dear, are as handsome as always.” Mia smiled at Jacksen before looking back at her sister hoping that the whole scenario didn’t make her too uncomfortable. She knew that Pagan didn’t want an escort to the party and for good reason, but it was only appropriate for her to have one. Mia hoped that one day Pagan would get used to their lifestyle, though she knew it wouldn’t be quick or easy for her to get accustomed to after everything she had been through. Mia was just grateful that her parents had agreed to adopt her, to give Pagan a better life, a life that she had deserved. ”So, are we ready?” Mia walked towards Ash, lacing her fingers with his walking towards the door.
Making their way down the hallway, Mia smiled at people who passed them, certain she had recognized at least one of the people. When it came to power, Mia’s father had far too many associates and acquaintances for her to keep track of them all. Most of the time they were familiar faces to her and nothing more. Jay was the one who always seemed to remember who each one of them was. Stepping into the elevator, she remained silent the entire way down trying not to think about what Jay might do once she arrived with Ash. Her stomach was uneasy and her nerves were starting to take over her, but she had to stay strong and hold her ground with him. She had enough of his games Mia wasn’t going to be his pawn anymore whether he liked it or not. The ding of the elevator snapped her out of her train of thought, a smile immediately fell on her lips just as the doors opened revealing the lobby. There had been a few students from Jackson walking by them, at least they weren’t the only fashionably late people. As they made their way down the hall to the ballroom just as they were coming up on the doors, Mia heard everyone yell SURPRISE. She was grateful that they hadn’t been a few seconds earlier or they might have ruined the surprise for Neil. Entering into the room, Mia let her blue eyes take everything in. Leave it to Jay and Gary to pull off turning the ballroom of the Hilton into something right out of a James Bond movie. She had to give them credit where credit was due. Tightening her grip around Ash’s hand, Mia spotted Jay across the room talking to Kayla which didn’t surprise her at all, he always seemed to be around her. She knew it wouldn’t be long before her brother spotted her, it was like he had radar when it came to her. Under normal circumstances he probably would have left her be, but once he spotted Ash there was no way he would let it go, it was inevitable.
