I NEED A HERO TO SAVE MY LIFE A HERO WILL SAVE ME JUST IN TIME She hummed softly to herself as she glanced around her dorm room, giggling at the sight of Jade curled up in her stuffed animal collection. The little white fox loved sleeping in the small pile of skelanimals and other normal stuffed creatures, and she nearly blended into the rest of the plush except for the fact that she moved. "Comfy, Jade?" She asked the small fox and giggled as the small fuzzy creature yawned and curled back up in answer, checking to be sure she had all the Dvd's with her that she wanted. Another Cinderella Story, Balto, Brother Bear, Two Bits and Pepper...she had plenty of movies for the night ahead, although she doubted she and Chris would really watch them. They had too much to talk about, so many stories to tell about what had been happening to them while they were seperated. She had so much to tell him, about her adoptive family, about how she'd lived in the orphanage at first, everything that had happened and she wanted to know everything that had happened to him while she wasn't around.
She stretched before grabbing one of the movies off her bed, popping it into her laptops cd drive and waiting patiently as it booted up. She still couldn't believe how easy it had been to obtain the laptop - there had been no favors demanded, she'd been allowed the money with no questions asked. It still surprised her. She giggled as she pulled the movie up and paused it, glancing over at the clock and bouncing a little hyperly on her bed. She had popcorn, soda, candy corn, and other various treats spread out across the room, because...well, because when you had the munchies, it was good to have a supply of food around. She giggled at the knock on the door, rolling off the bed and padding over to open the door, eying her friend with a laugh. "You don't have to knock Chris, you know that." She smiled, stepping aside to let him him before closing the door and pointing towards the bathroom with a grin. "Go change and get comfy, i'll be waiting right here."

Christian’s arms held themselves in the air as he held a follow through position, watching as his balled up shirt sailed through the air and landed gently in the pile of things he had in his duffle bag for his night at Pagan’s. He was so excited to spend the night with his best friend, since they hadn’t really been able to spend a lot of time together when they reunited at the gym that one day. Christian would have gladly skipped class to spend more time with Pagan, but she had insisted on him going, that his education was more important. Of course he knew that wasn’t true, but in order to make her happy he knew that he had to go, so he did. His long stride brought him to his bed as he stuffed his sweatpants in with everything else. His packing skills really needed some work, everything was basically just shoved in the bag, looking like a pile of laundry when actually, they were clean clothes.
The tall male knew that even though this night was for munching and watching movies, the two probably would just stay up really late talking about what had happened since they had been separated. Christian couldn’t wait to hear about everything Pagan had to tell him about her family. They were so amazingly lucky to have such a wonderful person to join their family, Christian would definitely be sure to tell them that when they met.. if he had the courage. He always tended to freeze up whenever around new people, always thinking that the second he turned his back they would lunge and start beating him mercilessly. He still had nights when he woke up in a cold sweat, shivering and not being able to go back to sleep for the night. The blonde always hated those nights, they always made him feel vulnerable to his memories, that they would always be there no matter how much he struggled to shut them out. Zipping up the duffle bag quickly he swung it over his shoulder, exiting his dorm room and making his way over to Pagan’s.
Climbing the stairs two at a time, he let out a chuckle, amused at how excited and happy he was to be seeing his best friend again. After all, they really did have so much to catch up on. Christian approached Pagan’s door, hoping he had gotten the right one. If someone opened the door and it wasn’t the face of the pretty blonde, Christian would definitely have a freakout. Instead of barging in, like he had planned he stood there indecisively, biting his lower lip and hoping with all his heart that the scenario in his head wouldn’t happen. His fist raised, knocking tentatively at the door, putting on a smile the chance of it being someone else slimmer than having Pagan actually answer the door. His smile widened, blue gaze brightening as the face of Pagan answered. “Thank goodness! I had the correct door.” He chuckled at how paranoid he had gotten, his body and mind immediately relaxing as he stepped into her room. His gaze followed her finger as she pointed to the bathroom, almost reading his thoughts. Everything would be so much more comfortable in his pajamas.
Usually Christian just wore sweatpants to bed, but he knew how Pagan was around other guys and he wouldn’t want to subject her to that kind of situation. He turned towards the bathroom with a smile, pulling his shirt over his head on the way, balling it up in his hand as he arrived in the bathroom. Closing the door gently, he threw on his sweatpants, putting his other clothes back in his duffle bag before zipping it up again. Looking at himself in the mirror, he frowned his blonde hair a mess from taking his shirt off and walking at the same time. Trying to smooth it out to make it look like he didn’t just head bang for an hour straight. Giving a small huff as he just shook his head, giving up, and walked out of the bathroom. “So what are we watching baby girl?” He asked, approaching the small blonde girl and whisking her up into a bear hug. Placing her down, he decided to take a look around her room, noticing the skelanimals on her bed. He pointed with a raised eyebrow and a smile, “Those things are pretty chill.” Of course he didn’t know that Pagan had gotten a fox, so he automatically assumed it was just a part of her stuffed animal collection. His gaze looked at all the food that was placed carefully in all the bowls and grinned, “Anyone else joining the party? Or you expecting you and I to eat all of this?”

I NEED A HERO TO SAVE MY LIFE A HERO WILL SAVE ME JUST IN TIME She giggled excitedly once more, reaching over to stroke Jade's head. She couldn't wait to spend more than a few minutes with Chris - they hadn't had much time together recently, since she'd been getting dragged to parties by Mia. He'd wanted to skip classes to spend time with her, but she'd told him in no uncertain terms that he wasn't to be skipping any of his classes for something like that - with their past, they needed their education to make them better. They'd had some education at the mansion, they'd been allowed to go to the local high school briefly as part of 'fitting in' but they'd been so focused on just staying alive that they hadn't really absorbed anything. Now they had the oppurtunity to learn everything they wanted to know without fear of retribution from their masters, and they had all the time in the world now to spend time with each other.
“Thank goodness! I had the correct door.” She laughed, smiling, reaching up to playfully tounsle his hair. "Told you you wouldn't get lost." She chided, watching as he made his way to the bathroom and laughing again. Any other male and she would have been afraid at the fact his shirt was off, but this was Chris and she knew he would never hurt her. He had seen her bloody and terrified, unable to defend herself, and he had never made a move to take advantage of such a weakened state. She didn't have anything to fear and she never had. She had to smile when he came out from the bathroom with his hair all a mess, standing up on tiptoe to try and smooth it out a little as she giggled.
“So what are we watching baby girl?” She hugged him back tightly with a wide grin, glancing over at the screen on the laptop because she hadn't actually payed attention when she put the movie in. "Another cinderella story." The movie was pretty good, for a newer disney movie, and she liked it. “Those things are pretty chill." She looked where he was pointing and saw her stuffed animal collection with Jade in the center - that's right, she hadn't told him about Jade yet! "Oh my god, I didn't tell you about Jade!" The squeal left her lips and the white foxes head shot up at the sound of her name. She tugged at his hand to pull him over to the bed, grinning proudly at the small fox. "Chris, meet Jade, Jade, meet Chris. She's the only good thing...he ever gave me, a few days before the police came in." Though she didn't even want to think about the things she'd been forced to do that had enabled her to get the fox.
“Anyone else joining the party? Or you expecting you and I to eat all of this?” She smiled, flopping down on the bed and scooting over to make room for her friend, reaching over to snag the popcorn bag. "Just us, silly. Unless you count Jade, but otherwise its all for us." She grinned, patting the bed beside her. "You gonna lay down, or just stand there like a statue all night?"

The blonde had been waiting for this opportunity for a while now, and he had be elated when she invited him to spend the night at her dorm. Chris would never pass up an offer of spending time with Pagan. After not seeing her for that long span of time, he would be willing to give up his school time just to be with her. Though he did notice the slight changes in the spunky girl. She had become more happy and slightly more outgoing. It seemed that life was treating her well, and that news alone was enough to make Chris happier than he had ever been in his life. Though he would have to make sure to keep up with his grades now that Pagan was back in his life. He knew that he would always be trying to spend his extra time with her, and he also knew he would always pick her company over the company of homework and projects and extra help that he may need.
A grin crossed his face as Pagan tousled his hair at his paranoia. “I wouldn’t know what to say if some random person came to the door. I think I would probably just run in the opposite direction.” A chuckle sounded in the air as she laughed at him. In the particular situation he would definitely just stand there with his mouth wide open for a few minutes before turning and running the opposite direction. If it had been a girl he would have probably tried to spit out an apology before running away. It wasn’t that he was more afraid of men than women, men could just beat him up more easily than females could. So maybe he was afraid of guys that were larger than him. Then again he did tend to freeze up whenever anyone decided to talk to him. As he exited the bathroom a smile flashed across his face as he bent his neck slightly to let Pagan try to tame his wild hair. “Not sure that will work darling.” He stated in a teasing tone, his blue eyes sparkling.
His muscled arms wrapped around her small torso, squeezing tightly before letting her go to make sure he didn’t hurt her. An eyebrow raised as she mentioned the title of the movie, “Is that a chick flick?” He teased, sticking his tongue out quickly at the blue eyed girl before returning his face to it’s original position. He had heard it could get stuck in the weird positions that some people made their faces but he really didn’t want to find out for himself. Surprise flitted across his face as one of the white mounds of fur which he had originally thought was a stuffed animal raised its head at the mention of ‘Jade.’ “Oh my goodness. Is that...? Fox?” His sentences became choppy as he started laughing, trying to take the surprise off of his face. Chris allowed Pagan to pull him to the bed as he approached the tiny white fox. He blinked as he heard who it was from, his lips tightening for a split second before he relaxed. He wasn’t going to bring anything bad up that night. It was all about having fun. “Well aren’t you cute?” He cooed softly as he reached his hand out to the fox, wondering if the little mammal would bite his fingers off.
Hopefully the fox would think he was worth its kindness since Christian really needed his fingers. “We’re definitely going to gain a couple hundred pounds.” He mused with a smile on his face as he grabbed a chip and started munching on it. The blonde male chuckled as he bounced over to his favorite person and plopped himself on the bed next to Pagan. “You happy baby girl?” His blue eyes lit up as he gently head-butted her shoulder playfully.

I NEED A HERO TO SAVE MY LIFE A HERO WILL SAVE ME JUST IN TIME She was so happy right then. She couldn't believe that Chris was back in her life - even though she'd had time to get used to it, it still made her impossibly happy. "I wouldn't know what to say if some random person just came to the door. I think I would probably just run in the opposite direction." She'd probably do the same thing, actually - she preferred hiding to confrontation any day. "You and me both." She said, chuckling a little because she could find amusement in their avoidist strategies, now that they were safe and sound and together again. She did her best to tame his unruly hair, laughing a little at how stubbornly it stuck up and shaking her head a little. "Not sure that will work darling."
She smiled, shaking her head more and pushing her hair out of her eyes as it fell forwards from the movement. "I agree," She said, still running her fingers through his blond hair in a futile attempt to tame it (and maybe just because she liked playing with his hair, it always calmed her down) before giving up with a sigh. His hair was resistant to any sort of styling, it seemed. She loved playing with it though, just running her fingers through the short strands without even noticing it. She squeaked slightly as his arms wrapped around her, cuddling into the hug for a second happily because honestly, he gave the best hugs ever. He was all cuddly and squishy - other people might call him fat, but she knew the truth. It was mostly muscle and what wasn't muscle was just the right amount of padding for the best hugs ever.
"Is that a chick flick?" She huffed, sticking her tongue out in return and giggling. It was no- okay, maybe it was a little. "Just a little biiiit," She tried to pull off her eat innocent look (failing miserably) and then just gave up and poked him with a laugh. "You don't mind, do you?" She doubted it, but she'd still ask because she didn't want him unhappy just because of a movie. She had plenty to choose from - they didn't have to watch this one. His expression when he realized Jade wasn't just a stuffed animal was priceless - it nearly erased the memories of what she'd had to do in order to receive the fox. "Oh my goodness. Is that...? Fox?" She nodded, laughing at his surprise, but the laughter was friendly and not meant to be hurtful in any way. She could tell he didn't like thinking about how she would have earned the gift, and she gently squeezed his hand tighter in reassurance that she was okay now before letting go, her cheeks flushing slightly.
"Well aren't you cute?" The white fox nuzzled his fingers, obviously accepting him, and she smiled widely. She didn't know what she would do if Chris didn't like Jade or vice versa, but it looked like that was something she wouldn't have to worry about. In fact, if she guessed right, as soon as Chris sat down the white fox would be in his lap. "We're definitely going to gain a couple hundred pounds." She laughed, reaching out and snagging herself a chip, bouncing a little as he flopped down on the bed because she was so light compared to him. She liked how solid he was - he made her feel like she was safe, like nothing bad could ever touch her when he was around. "You happy baby girl?" She giggled as he headbutted her before snuggling up to him as she'd done hundreds of times before, squirming slightly as Jade came over to join then. First there were light paws on her legs, then a warm body settled itself in the small space between her back and his stomach. "I think Jade wants to watch too."

The corners of his eyes crinkled as he grinned, “We’re a couple of brave souls aren’t we?” Christian’s voice took on a teasing tone as he made fun of the two. It was pathetic really, if some random person answered a door that they knocked on and they ran away... the whole concept was slightly pathetic. Though to them, just looking at a stranger in the face scared them to death. It shouldn’t have to be like that, they shouldn’t be deathly afraid to talk to someone on the street. They shouldn’t be afraid that every guy on the street was going to try to kill them if they made eye contact for more than ten seconds. The two were paranoid and for good reason, though they shouldn’t believe that everyone on the planet was bad and wanted to harm them. It wasn’t right for two teenagers to already know how evil the world really was.
“You stubborn child.” Christian muttered under his breath as Pagan continued to try and tame his wild hair. Of course it was a joke, sarcasm lathered his tone like honey on toast. His own fingers brushed Pagan’s hair out of her eyes as it fell forward from her futile attempts at trying to get his hair to stand down. The blonde laughed as she squeaked, his arms easily wrapping around Pagan’s tiny frame. It was hard to believe that she had gained weight after leaving the mansion. She already was as skinny as a toothpick, though Christian would never be able to get the pictures of Pagan even skinnier than what she was now out of his mind. They would always follow him around, like killer clowns following children home after a carnival event. He blinked, pushing away the creepy thoughts that had so unwillingly popped into his mind. He was here to have fun, not remember bad memories or to think up creepy stories.
Blue eyes twinkled with amusement as she huffed at him, giving her a cheeky wink in retaliation to her tongue. “Oh goodie, I haven’t seen a good chick flick in a while.” He laughed at her innocent look, shaking his head slightly and spazzing slightly as she poked him. Whacking her hand away gently he covered his stomach with his hands, his eyebrows furrowing. “Don’t start baby girl, you know I’ll finish it.” A laugh sounded as he shrugged at her question. Christian didn’t care what they watched, as long as he was with Pagan and they were talking. Plus he would be surprised if they even paid any attention to the movie, they would probably be just talking about everything the whole time. He shot Pagan a friendly glare as she laughed at him, probably at his surprise. Though it definitely wasn’t uncalled for, after all who kept a fox in their dorm? Certainly no one else that Christian knew even had a pet in general. Christian squeezed Pagan’s fingers back gently before releasing her hand as she pulled away, not noticing the flush that crept across her cheeks.
A sigh of relief sounded as the fox nuzzled his out-stretched fingers. He would never admit to Pagan that he was slightly afraid of dogs, cats and foxes since they fell in the same general category. Christian would force himself to be brave for his best friend. He chuckled, patting his stomach, “I’m good with that.” He grinned as he rolled onto his stomach to face the laptop screen. Christian brushed another lock of hair away from Pagan’s face and tucked it behind her ear, going back to leaning on his elbows as she snuggled into him. It was like all those times at the mansion, without the movie of course. They would never be allowed to have anything electronic, they could contact people on the outside for help and the masters couldn’t risk that. Blue eyes flickered down to the white fox as he gave a crooked smile, “Well she’s more than welcome!” Feeling the warm fur brush his body he smiled and placed his head in his palm, chomping on another chip.

I NEED A HERO TO SAVE MY LIFE A HERO WILL SAVE ME JUST IN TIME “We’re a couple of brave souls aren’t we?” She snorted at that, because brave was the last thing they were. They were likely the most cowardly people in the world – except for the broken slaves, they were better than that. They didn’t just curl up in a corner and give up, they’d survived hell and come out stronger for it. They were paranoid, but after everything, they certainly had just cause for being so paranoid – they’d lived most of their lives not knowing if they would live another day, and that had left them as old minds in young bodies. It was tragic for teenagers – not even adults, teenagers - to know such horror and fear, but in the end they had come out as the stronger people. They were free now, and they didn’t have to fear ever again.
“You stubborn child.” She ‘pfft’ed a little, wrinkling her nose at him playfully. ”I always have been, silly.” It was definitely one of the traits that had gotten her in so much trouble at the Mansion, but it was also the thing that had fueled her will to live. It was both a blessing and curse, she supposed, but she wasn’t about to stop being her bull-headed self to please other people. After all, it was just another trait that made her who she was. She was surprised at how easily Chris’s arms wrapped around her waist – she’d always been tiny, of course, but she’d thought she’d gained weight and his arms still fit easily around her. She had gained weight, actually – she could no longer count her bones like she’d been able to back then, a combination of starvation punishment and high amounts of stress keeping her constantly skinny. Now she was a healthy weight, and it was easily apparent in how solid she looked.
“Oh goodie, I haven’t seen a good chick flick in a while.” She giggled at his cheeky wink, playfully pushing him in retaliation as well. ”Have you ever seen a ‘chick flick’, Chris?” She asked curiously, her head tilting to the side slightly before she burst into laughter as his slight spazz. She’d forgotten for a second how ticklish he was. “Don’t start baby girl, you know I’ll finish it.” She grinned, her blue eyes sparkling with the challenge as she poked him again. ”You will, will you? I bet you can’t!” She teased, pushing his hands away to better tickle him as she grinned, the movie already forgotten in the fun of teasing and tickling her best friend. That had to probably be a new record, actually.
“I’m good with that.” She giggled, her tickling ceasing for a bit as she snuggled against him to face the laptop screen as the opening scene of the movie began. Her cheeks flushed slightly when his fingers pushed a lock of hair back behind her ear, resting her head against his shoulder when he was done. If she had been a cat, she likely would have been purring with happiness. She shifted briefly to grab the chip bowl, pulling it closer to her and lightly tapping the fox’s nose when she tried to steal a chip. ”Nu-uh Jade, foxes don’t eat chips.” She scolded, giggling as the fox huffed and curled back up, this time beside them. “Well she’s more than welcome!” She smiled widely, squirming closer to him so she could use his shoulder as a pillow and be more comfortable before her eyes went back to the screen. ”How’re your classes?” She asked curiously – there was so much she wanted to talk with him about, and school seemed to be the best topic to branch off into before they got into the heavy stuff.

He raised his eyebrow at her snort, “Well I think you’re brave.” He stated bluntly, turning slightly serious for a moment before his eyes lit up and a smile appeared on his face again. They could be classified as brave in certain aspects of what had happened in their past. Now they were just afraid of every single corner of the world. It wasn’t something that the two would grow out of, it was something that they were condemned to live with the rest of their lives. To always be afraid of what was going to happen next, if the person next to you was going to turn and sock you in the face. All those paranoid thoughts rushed through the duos mind multiple times a day, but at the same time they both struggled to be normal people. They longed to have the life of a regular teenage, to have nothing in their lives that would hurt them besides broken bones and family fights.
Pushing the thoughts away from his mind he smiled as he ruffled her hair gently, “As you always will be darling.” Christian had always tried to talk Pagan out of doing something crazy when they were at the mansion together. He remembered vividly trying to talk her out of being rude or disobeying. Of course it had never worked, Pagan had always been slightly cheeky and she could be downright rude when it came to people that she didn’t like. It was ten times worse when it came to the people that she hated. Christian had once taken the blame for something that Pagan did, and that was the first time they had ever gotten into a fight. When Christian began loving somebody he started to become overprotective and in those last few months that they were there he had taken more of Pagan’s beatings than his own. It was something that just came with his personality. Overprotective was definitely a trait that could be used in the top ten words to describe the blonde.
Christian blinked, looking mock hurt that she would even suggest such a thing. “Of course I’ve seen a chick flick!!” He chuckled as he bit his lip, leaning forward slightly in secret telling position, “Actually I don’t even know what that is.” He confessed, his blue eyes twinkling with mischief. His eyebrows furrowed as Pagan burst out laughing at his spaz, his lips stretching into a grin. He gave almost a girlish squeal as Pagan attacked him with her fingers, grabbing her wrists to keep them away from his stomach. As he pushed away from her, he felt the bed vanish from under him and he toppled over the side, accidentally bringing Pagan down on top of him. Making sure he still had secure grips on her wrist he grinned up at her, “I suppose I told you so’s would be in order?” He teased, his chest rising and falling rapidly from the adrenaline that kicked through his system.
Hearing the movie start he chuckled as he sat up, leaning back on his arms as he let go of her wrists. Her light weight was still pinning his legs down but Christian didn’t mind, in fact he had to admit he liked the close proximity that the tumbling off the bed had achieved. His blue gaze flickered to the fox as she tried to steal some chips. “She’s a sneaky little thing isn’t she?” He flashed a grin, wondering if the fox knew what was going on. After all, what fox huffed at someone after they told it not to eat some chips? Maybe foxes were just highly intelligent. The only thing that Christian really knew about foxes were that they were extremely cunning, but Jade was too cute to even be considered to be able to be cunning. “My classes?” Christian’s eyebrow raised at the question, secretly thanking fate that he was actually doing well in all of his classes. Except for damn art. That stupid class was really going to kill him someday. “I’m actually doing pretty good in all of them... except art. I have absolutely no sketching abilities whatsoever. What about you baby girl?”

I NEED A HERO TO SAVE MY LIFE A HERO WILL SAVE ME JUST IN TIME “Well I think you’re brave.” She laughed a little, shaking her head with a small smile. She wasn’t brave in any way – she’d been so scared when it had come time to testify against Charm, she’d nearly just curled up in a corner but somehow she’d managed to get the words out. Chris had been the one to calm her down, to take the razor out of her hands the night before the trial – and then when the verdict had been read they’d been torn apart and had been unable to find each other, at least until now. Now they were together again and nothing would tear them apart again. ”Neither of us are that brave.” She replied quietly before smiling. ”But we’re tough… tougher than any so–called hero. We can claim that.” The words were true – their past was horrible and often they wished they’d just had a normal life, but at the same time their past strengthened them. They could survive so much more than ordinary people on the street could, and that was something to take pride in, even if the way they had obtained such a skill was a tragedy.
“As you always will be darling.” She laughed, batting playfully at his hand as he ruffled her hair before finger-combing the blond strands back into place. ”You better believe it, creeper.” She murmured playfully, smirking a little. Her mouth had often been the biggest reason she had gotten beaten – and usually the cause of her and Chris’s arguments, because he often took the beating for something she had done and she hated it. She hated him getting himself hurt to save her when she had deserved the punishment, but at the same time she loved the overprotectiveness. She just… would have been happier if he hadn’t put himself in harm’s way for her like he had, because it made her feel horrible she had caused him pain. The nickname slipped smoothly from her lips before she grinned, giggling. ”Creeper, my creeper chris… I think I finally found a nickname for you.” She laughed louder, amused by her words. Creeper was actually a nickname that would fit Chris – not in the bad way, but he was always lurking in the background, trying not to be noticed.
“Of course I’ve seen a chick flick!! Actually I don’t even know what that is.” She laughed again, rolling her eyes at him – she’d thought so, but she hadn’t actually believed he’d admit it. Then again, they’d never really been able to experience a lot of things normal people took for granted, like movies and staying up late and just being normal teenagers. ”A really, really sappy movie. Hero falls in love with the heroine, drama ensues, then comes a happy ending at which I’ve heard normal people cry at, usually. Then again, when have I ever been normal?” She usually just found the movies amusing, laughing at how easily the drama wrapped up in a neat little package at the end of the movie. She’d never cried at one before – then again, she hadn’t cried since she was thirteen, when she’d vowed she would never show weakness again.
She laughed again at his squeal before her own squeal left her lips, tumbling over the side of the bed with him and ending up sitting on his stomach, laughing loudly as she grinned. Her blue eyes sparkled as she playfully tugged at his grip on her wrists, squirming a little in an attempt to get away. “I suppose I told you so’s would be in order?” She snorted, growling playfully at him. ”Oh, bite me.” The grumbled words were teasing and light-hearted as she rolled her eyes before snuggling into his lap happily when he let her wrists go, reaching up to grab the laptop off the bed and set it in her lap so they could actually see the movie. “She’s a sneaky little thing isn’t she?” Oh, he had no idea. She swore half the homework that went missing was because Jade stole it, although she could never find it. ”You’ve got no idea. I swear I’m constantly chasing her out of trouble.” Her lips curled up in a happy grin, leaning so that her head rested comfortably on his shoulder. ”My classes? She nodded, genuinely curious as to how he was doing; he was her best friend, and if he needed help, he knew she'd always help him.
“I’m actually doing pretty good in all of them... except art. I have absolutely no sketching abilities whatsoever. What about you baby girl?" She smiled, happy that he was doing okay... except for art, but art didn't really count, anyways. "I'm doing pretty good... we got to write a song for music the other day, that was pretty cool!" She grinned, she'd actually rather liked the song she'd written for the class, although it was definitely a bit... darker minded. "If you want though, I could help you with your art stuff? Two fail artists have to be better than one, right?"

A small smile appeared on Christian’s face as she shook her head. In his eyes, she was the bravest person that he knew, going through all types of shit that he knew he couldn’t have done. He knew that if he had tried to get on the stand like she had done he wouldn’t have made it. Just seeing Charm would cause him to freeze up and Christian didn’t want to have to feel that type of fear ever again. “Hmmm... I could see you being tough.” He grinned, trying to lighten up the mood once more. He felt like if they dug into their memories of the past, this would be a sore night. Christian didn’t want to think of anything but how they had found each other and how they were never going to let the other go. “But enough of this horrid topic; so tell me about your family.” His blue eyes lit up at the thought of Pagan having a family that took care of her and loved her as their own. He would definitely have to thank them for keeping her in good shape while he was out searching for her.
He blinked as she called him a creeper, rolling his eyes at her before making an indignant face. “I am not a creeper! I would have been if I had gotten your number wrong.” He stuck his tongue out at her, before resorting to laughing. His eyebrow raised as she mentioned that it was his new nickname. He let out a fake groan, “Oh yay.” Sarcasm clear in his tones as he grinned at Pagan. “Well if I’m creeper Chris, what’s your nickname miss smarty pants?” He chuckled as she amused herself, her laugh getting louder as she seemed to think over her words. He reached out to poke her stomach, giving a fake pout at her laughing. “Are you amusing yourself?” He asked, his eyebrow raising as he watched her laugh. He loved that she was able to laugh now, the family she was living with much be treating her like a princess. Christian imagined that it was hard for Pagan to get used to having a family and trusting people like that, but he knew that she probably charmed her way into their heart easily. She just had that effect on people, though he was sure it was hard for both parties to get used to each other.
Another pout appeared on his face as she laughed at his ignorance of what a chick flick was. He had thought about just acting like he knew what it was, but he had felt an honest streak for a few moments. “I knew I shouldn’t have told you!” He chuckled as she told him the definition of a chick flick. “Hmmm... now I see why it’s called a chick flick.” He gave her a cheeky wink as he insinuated they were all about chicks. “I’m sure I’ll cry.” Christian laughed, knowing that if they were actually watching it he would totally be sobbing his face out. Though he was pretty sure that they probably wouldn’t get any actual watching of the movie done, they couldn’t keep quiet whenever they were together. If they had any classes together they would surely be separated or kicked out because of how loud they would be. “You baby girl, have never been normal. You have always been extraordinary.” Christian flashed her a grin, knowing how big of a baby he really was; however tough he actually looked just being looks. Then again you weren’t supposed to judge a book by its cover.
As they tumbled to the ground, Christian made sure that Pagan landed on top so he wouldn’t squish her small frame. “Face it, I’m stronger than you. You’ll never get away!” He gave a mock evil laugh as she tried to squirm away a little before he let go and let her climb away. “Bite you?” Christian gave his own growl as he wrapped his arms around her and bit her shoulder playfully, his bite hard enough to leave a mark but not hard enough to hurt. He grinned as she settled in his lap, resting his chin on her shoulder as she grabbed the laptop to place it in her own lap. Christian looked over her shoulder as he realized five minutes had already passed in the movie... and he had no clue what was going on. “Hmmm... do you know what’s happening?” He asked, a teasing tone coloring his voice. “Awww but that’s cute. I bet she doesn’t mean to get into trouble.” He smiled as he looked at her from the corner of his eye, not able to turn his head unless he wanted to hit hers. “You comfortable?” He laughed as he leaned back against the bed so he wouldn’t have to hold his own body weight up along with hers. Then again she didn’t really add anything to his own weight because she was so tiny.
His eyebrow raised as she mentioned she got to write a song for music. “Really? Do I get to hear this song?” His voice was filled with curiosity, not knowing that Pagan was a song-writer. “I bet it’s beautiful!” His voice drawing out on the ‘eau’ of the word. “You draw?” That was definitely something that wasn’t expected. Though he was sure she was better than she was letting on. “You always have these hidden talents, Gracie. Where do you get them all?” He grinned, his attention not on the movie at all, but on the girl that was settled happily in his lap. “Though to be honest, I wouldn’t mind a little help. The best I can draw is a fail circle. Or an oval.” He chuckled at his ignorance of shapes.
