personality: To understand Heath’s personality, you must first understand his past.
Heath’s mother left him on the steps of a church when he was only a couple weeks old. The only thing he knows about her is that she has nice hand writing, which he only know from the note that she left on top of him for whoever found him. A note which he keeps with him to date, and looks at it from time to time to remind himself his life could have been a lot worse. He was raised father of the church and taught to love god and Jesus, and to be a person of good moral character.
But like most people who grow up in a religious background he strayed from the path that his adopted father taught him. The end of freshman year at his old high school he played football, partied with the team, and one night got in a car with someone who had been too drunk to drive, and ended up getting in a horrible car accident. He’s actually lucky to be alive, he went through the windshield and was thrown across the room. The drive, not so lucky. He’s lucky in the fact that he only suffered extensive brain damage.
Two years, and a lot of theory later Heath’s brain is seemingly doing better. But he has little quirks, or habits that he didn’t have before. For instance he has found out that he is very bipolar now. His moods have a tendency of shifting with in a fraction of a second, so you never know what to expect with him. One second he can be happy go lucky, smiling and a pleasure to talk to, the next second he can become so do depressed that he’s withdrawn and at the point of tears. Another thing that is different after his accident is that he has a minor case of Tourette's, which his adopted father calls a case of the nasty’s. Its quite embarrassing for him, because he could be in the middle of doing something and blurt out something completely inappropriate. The last thing that he got from his accident is also a slight case of ODC, he to do things in a certain order or pattern and he likes to have his things in a certain order. If any part of this order or pattern is broken it sends him into a complete panic attack, which is never good for anyone and the only thing that can really calm him down is painting which he is rather good at.
Other then the few quirks that he got from his accident, Heath is a kind person, always nice to people, the first person to lend you a helping hand if he can do it. He spends his free time outside of classes and homework working with kids at a local church’s youth group and community outreach programs for under privileged kids. He believes in helping others in every way possible. He’s an honest to goodness wonderful guy, if anybody can get past his quirks.
likes: art, painting, drawling, music, marsh mellow peeps, helping people, spinach, karaoke, acoustic guitars, photography, everything in its rightful place, coloring books, comic books, graphic novels, romance novels, the bible, going to church, air hockey, video games, post-it notes, barney, Microsoft word, photoshop elements, massages, girls, long walks on the beach, and plaid.
dislikes: sports of any kind ever since his accident, people picking on other people, carrots, salty things, things being out of order, people disrupting his pattern, the color orange, orange juice with pulp, apple juice, gangster rap, taking his medicine (it makes him feel like a zombie), cheesy horror films, sex scenes in movies (cause that’s just awkward), and people who push their beliefs on other people.
strengths: anything to do with art, being a good role model, helping people, video games, cross word puzzles, karaoke, and he’s good at football though he refuses to play ever again.
weaknesses: all the things that happened to him after the accident, chocolate, a good book, the apple store, getting lost in his own train of thought, falling asleep in class or spacing out because of his medicine, and “the nasty’s”
