Aidan couldn't decide whether he was using his relationship with Kayla as an excuse to go to the movies, or free movies as an excuse to say Kayla. Really, he supposed, it was a mixture of the two. Though, if she asked, he would definitely claim it was all about her. Because he was smooth like that. He'd had an excellent few hours in the gym, followed by a long, hot shower, and spending the night annoying his favourite girl would definitely top today off nicely. The only problem was the weather; throughout the day, it had been getting steadily more voilent, and looking outside at the torrents of snow was almost enough to make him rethink his plans. In the end, though, Kayla won out. She always did. Pulling on his winter jacket and digging his gloves out of his drawer, Aidan prepared to face the storm. He locked the door behind himself, wandering down the hallway and pausing momentarily before exiting the building. The moment he stepped outside, a blast of cold air whipped at his face and he blinked rapidly, frowning as bits of ice flew into his face. Times like these made him thankful for his truck.
Trying to stay out of the brunt of the blizzard, Aidan made his way around the side of the building to where he'd parked, fumbling about and finally extracting his keys from his pocket. It would be slow driving out there, but he was sure he would make it eventually. Besides, it was totally worth it. Breathing a sigh of relief, he slid into the drivers' seat, closing the door quickly before the seats got too much snow on them. He peeled his gloves off while waiting for the heat to kick in. With all that had happened in the past year or so, he refused to take Kayla for granted. He literally wanted to spend every minute with her. Well, almost every minute; he wasn't quite that creepy. He knew people needed their space once in a while, and he still wasn't a hundred per cent forgiven. If all went well, though, that would change soon.
Finally, Aidan pulled out and began rolling carefully off-campus. He didn't pass another car for the duration of the drive, though he wasn't surprised - only crazy people would be out in this kind of weather. Kayla would probably think he was crazy for coming at all. Especially considering they hadn't even had plans. Maybe he should've called first... shaking his head, Aidan drove into the lot, easily finding a spot and turning off his engine. He was already there, after all. It would be ridiculous to simply turn around and go back to the dorm without popping in for a quick 'hello.' If she asked, he would just say he'd been in the neighbourhood. Buying groceries, or something. Smirking, he opened his door once more, heading quickly for the cinema and only slipping once or twice on the ice covering the ground. Once he had finally gotten into the building, he stood for a moment, brushing the snow from his arms and hair before looking around for Kayla.
It took him a minute or two to realize that none of the lights were on. Well, that explained the dim atmosphere and large amount of people. It seemed there hadn't been many there to start with, but now the theaters were emptying and everyone was congregating in the lobby. Unless he was mistaken, there was some sort of blackout going on. He stood up a bit taller, searching for Kayla and finally spotting her directing a few of the patrons. Instantly, his eyes brightened and his mouth stretched into a grin. He began to force his way through the crowd, only apologizing once or twice as he brushed past grumpy-looking old ladies. After what seemed like ages, he broke into more vacated territory, making a beeline straight for her. "Hey!" Once he was sure she would hear, Aidan called out a greeting, looking very out-of-place in his expensive jacket and rosy cheeks. "What's going on?"
ooc BAM. Aidan.

Kayla was busy at work, kinda bored and messing around like she usually did cos she is cool like that. She hated taking orders from the assistant manager so she kind of just ignored him most of the time. She loved getting to see movies and getting paid for it as a job though, it was definitely a good thing. Her other job didn’t compare and she didn’t work there as much, but she did like the people she worked with there. She didn’t seem to mess about as much there though, plus she was ALWAYS sneaking her friends into showings of the movies they wanted, just because she couldn’t help it. As long as she and they did not get caught it was fine she figured. It wasn’t like the movies they wanted to see were going to lose out, they made thousands...maybe even millions...well some of them did anyway. Kayla was really good at procrastinating and she did it a hell of a lot, she couldn’t deny it in the slightest. She would much rather beat Gary in a game of ‘guitar hero’ than do her homework. It was bad but she just didn’t have the motivation to make herself sit at a desk and do work...well she could do but she hated being sat still, laying in bed all day when she’d come out of her coma had driven her up the wall, she had hardly known what to do with herself because she loved to be active.
When she saw the lights flicker she shrugged it off, then it went dark. She just shrugged and just carried on laughing at the text her friend had just sent her. She then got out her iPod and decided to play some tunes, that was until someone came over to ask what was going on. There is a blackout, because of the blizzard she explained to them. Sorry, I am sure if you speak to the manager though he will give you a free ticket, or I can do that for you she smiled at them and went over to the counters and went to the machine. Oh shit...yeah forgot the machines wouldn’t work either. Okay hang on she said going into the back room and getting a small square notepad I am gonna write on here and sign it so that people know you have a free ticket she nodded Does that sound good to you? she asked. If you want you can stay till its all over and I can print you a proper one, or you can ring up or whatever and explain the situation she went on. By the woman’s look on her face she was a little confused. They should do something though right? I mean the movie cut out and you didn’t see it all, that would REALLY piss me off, and I know its the blackout and all, but you know she said with a shrug. I hope I helped you she smiled.
She felt a hand on her shoulder and squealed slightly, turning round she saw it was one of her friends and rolled her eyes Wow, you are so cool she laughed What do you want? she asked. He told her he wanted free entry and she rolled her eyes. All her friends always got free entry, even though she was only suppose to give discount as well. Today she had been put on tills because other people could not get out cos of the snow. It was so lame, but whatever. When Aidan came over she smiled at him. Hay she said. Have you driven here? she asked him. Pleeease tell me you did not she glared at him slightly You know how I have told you about not driving in the freaking snow she lectured him. Anyway...what did you ask? OH yeah what happened. she nodded The blizzard happened, caused a blackout so now I am kinda stuck here since I can’t really see that well she said. Well I could get out but I am guessing buses are not running so there is no point she shrugged. I wish that the movies hadn’t cut out though she went on. You know they put me serving today? It was not fun she pouted I don’t like being on tills, I prefer being in the theatres and actually watching the movies she rambled on. Kayla could often talk for hours and she had no problem with doing so, it was a gift of hers and she was damn proud of it.

Aidan grinned as Kayla noticed him, though his expression quickly became guilty when she asked if he'd driven down. "Uh..." he managed, looking away. By this point, she'd obviously already figured out the answer, and he looked back at the snow. "Well, it wasn't this bad when I left," he tried, giving her an apologetic smile. "Besides, the truck can handle it. I've got chains on and everything! And I didn't go more than fifty, the whole way here." Aidan definitely wasn't one to tempt fate. Or the destruction of his vehicle, for that matter; she was practically his baby. Second only to Kayla. He laughed when she forgot his question, but let her continue speaking, used to her overly talkative nature by now. "I see," he nodded, having already figured out the blackout bit, "I wonder if the power's out all over the city. Probably. It's probably out at the school, too..." he was mostly thinking out loud, trying to imagine what sort of shenanigans people would be getting up to back in the dorms. When the lights went out, everybody was a troublemaker.
"I would be pissed if I were trying to watch a movie today," he agreed, feeling sorry for the people now filtering out of the theatres, "do they get refunds and stuff?" That would make the most sense. In fact, his question was probably stupid and obvious. Oh, well, at least he was trying his best to keep up with his girlfriends' speed-talking. He made a face when she told him she'd been put on serving. "Ugh, really? At least you don't have to worry about that now, though!" He smiled, glad to have found an upside in the whole blackout scenario. Actually, he could think of several upsides, though he didn't choose to mention them just yet. He was still on probation with her, after all. Realizing the area was becoming less and less occupied, he shuffled his feet a bit, eyeing Kayla. "Anyway, I'm assuming you won't want me to drive back to the school in this weather," he guessed. For a moment, he felt almost frightened by the thought, remembering all to well how she'd gotten into that car crash only a few months ago. No, they definitely didn't want another episode of that. "Is there anything to do around here?" Aidan raised an eyebrow, smirking.
ooc short and sweet?

She stood there looking at him with her arms folded Oh yeah? she raised her eyebrow at him. Suuuuure it wasn’t she sighed. That is not the point Aidan! she said annoyed at him slightly You KNOW why I am getting so wound up about this, don’t even try and deny it she frowned. You really shouldn’t lie t me, remember where that got you last time? she glared at him slightly. But whatever.... she said still frowning, You won’t listen to me, I guess, I mean since you only drove fifty and your truck is fine with it she said quoting him. Makes it totally fine, right? she said almost wanting him to answer, although it wasn’t a question that she wanted an answer to, she was basically just going off on a rant really. Did you really insist on driving all the way here just to see me? she smiled at him. She had to admit that it was kind of cute of him, she liked that but didn’t like him driving in the snow, that was the main problem. She wasn’t going to let him get in an accident when she had only really recovered from hers. That would be terrible.
She shrugged when he asked about the lights being out in school and in the city. I don’t know she replied I guess so.... she said. I mean it would make more sense than it just being the mall right? she said. But I have been here a while so I haven’t really known what the weather has been doing, I just went out earlier and had a quick look and it was okay then, but I heard people talking about it she explained to him. I am so in the know she grinned. The font of all knowledge she joked. Kayla was not that at all, and she knew that...she never would be either but it was kind of funny joking about things like that, well she at least thought that it was. Well if it was out at the school who knows what everyone is getting up to she smirked It will be so easy for everyone to be sneaking around and such she said to him with a smile. Not that it’s ever a problem in the first place but you know what I mean she laughed and rolled her eyes slightly expecting him to fire back at her with some ‘smart’ comment.
Well, because I am so nice I am giving everyone a free ticket to the next showing...well to a showing she said. I don’t care if my boss disagrees, I just do it because I am awesome like that she went on. but yeah it would be rather annoying, especially cutting out in the middle of it she agreed with him. She loved seeing movies, even before she got the job at the movie theatre but now she got to watch them a lot, she had seen them a few times but she knew how annoying it would be at least. Yeahh but stilll she pouted I so do not do well on the cashier desk....I get bored because when there are no customers and all I want to do is go over and sneak into one of the movies...this will be the last time I will be on the tills, I can make sure of that she smiled. They are pretty slack here though, unless I am like....super late....I just blame that on the bus then though she laughed. I hate the bus but I am not getting another car for a while.
Kayla shook her head quickly NO, definitely not she said sternly We shall stay here all night if we have to but there is no fucking way I am going back in that weather, and there is no way you are driving back either she told him. Do you understand? she looked at him..... You better understand she said giving him a playful glare. There was just no way that she was going to let him drive back, not a chance, it wasn’t just them that concerned her, it was other people on the road in the blizzard too. She grinned when he asked if there was anything they could do around the place Well....I do know something...but we’ll have to be sneaky...and NOT get caught she grinned at him I need this job, even though I have another....I just really like it too...plus I get my friends free cinema tickets...how awesome is that? she smiled at him. Then she took his hand and led him into one of the smaller theatres. There shouldn’t be anyone around she told him. She got her phone out so she could see the steps and led him to the top row. We are pretty hidden here she smiled and sat down, pulling him down with her and kissed him.

Aidan bit his lip as Kayla saw right through his little white lie, and he looked down, feeling suddenly ashamed. It wasn't anything new, though; ever since the whole Giovanna fiasco he'd been afraid he wasn't good enough for someone so amazing as his current girlfriend. He was constantly trying to make it up to her and, understandably, she wasn't making it easy. "Look, I'm sorry. I just... I wanted to see you," he tried, daring to meet her disapproving gaze and shrugging. Acting like it wasn't a big deal, like he didn't miss her like crazy sometimes. "I really was careful, though." He winced as she continued, averting his eyes once more but not answering what had probably been a rhetorical question. However, her next words sounded more relaxed, and his gaze settled on her smile in relief. He gave her a grin in return, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Yeah, you're kind of awesome, you know." Obviously, he understood why she was so touchy about the subject of driving in potentially dangerous situations, but Aidan had never been reckless or inattentive on the road. He didn't want to wreck his car, for one, and he could be quite sensible when it came to potentially dangerous situations.
Aidan nodded at Kayla's reply. "Maybe it's out all over the city. Kind of freaky, don't you think?" He smiled, raising his eyebrows and wiggling his fingers at her in an attempt to be creepy. Then, he laughed. No way would she be frightened by that. "Let's just say there's a lot of snow coming down. Awesome skiing conditions," he gave her a quick weather report, glancing back over his shoulder as if expecting to see the flurries blowing through the doors of the theater. When she claimed to be in the know, he turned back, smirking. "Of course you are," he nodded, taking his hand from his pocket and brushing a strand of hair from her face in the classic, romantic move. He loved doing that - it made him feel like he was in the movies. As she continued to speak, he let his hand drop back down, shuffling his feet a bit. "Probably a hell of a lot of crazy, wild stuff. Who knows? A dark room, some candles... really sets the mood." He raised his eyebrow again, this time in a more suggestive manner, trying to tease her. "It can be an event... 'get to know your room mate.'"
"Ooh, free ticket!" Aidan exclaimed, suddenly jealous of everyone who had had their movie cut short. Not that he really needed to worry about such things in the first place, as Kayla was always more than happy to let him in without paying. "Where's mine?" It was a joke, of course, accompanied by that ever-present smile. When she mentioned her boss, he shrugged, agreeing wholeheartedly. "Yeah, they deserve to get something. I mean, it would be a ripoff if you were just like 'too bad,' you know?" Feeling a bit hot, Aidan unzipped his jacket, giving her a sympathetic grin. "Awwe, poor you, all bored at work with nothing to do. Aren't you lucky you've got me? I should come down here more often." As if he wasn't already spending way more time there than even the most die-hard movie-goer. In fact, sometimes Aidan was worried Kayla might think he was stalking her. "Well, doing the tills is probably better than cleaning up the leftover popcorn containers and stuff after the movie's done, isn't it?" he asked, curious. He nodded, understanding why she wouldn't want another car. He couldn't imagine how frightening it must have been to go through an accident like that.
When Kayla confirmed that she definitely did not want him driving anywhere, Aidan gave in quite easily. After all, he preferred to be around her rather than stuck back at the dorms doing homework, so there was no problem there. "Of course I understand," he assured her, sticking his tongue out when she glared at him. "Your word is the law, after all," he gave her a playful smile, "and you know I like a woman in power." As she mentioned that she could, in fact, think of a way to pass the time, Aidan's smile was replaced by a sly grin. "For free cinema tickets, I'll be as sneaky as you want," he assured her, letting her take his hand and following her eagerly back to one of the theaters. It was completely empty, and more than a bit eerie in the total blackness, but he didn't mind too much. Carefully, he followed the light of her phone, knowing she would probably laugh at him if he managed to fall flat on his face.
"Oh yeah?" he grinned when she pointed out that they would be pretty hidden. Then, he felt himself being pulled down, and quickly organized his limbs to avoid kneeing her awkwardly. Once she began to kiss him, though, he relaxed. Though he had apologized to her months ago and things were running smoothly, he still harboured a secret fear that she would realize she'd made a mistake in giving him a second chance. That was probably why he always wanted to be around her: to show her that he was worth the trouble. Right now, however, he didn't have time to dwell on his worries. He was too busy making out with his girlfriend. Beginning to overheat, he pulled away briefly, shrugging his jacket off. Then, he slid his hands around her, finding her lips again. "We're so badass," he mumbled, kissing her for a second time.
ooc ahh lame post D:

So you should be she smirked at him. I mean god, you could have seen me another time she scoffed jokingly. But I do appreciate you coming down here to see me she grinned at him. You know I always love seeing you whenever, I just didn’t expect you to drive in this weather, it scares me shitless she told him sadly as her mind went back to the night of the accident. She shook her head away from the thoughts of it and then looked back at him. As long as you really were careful I don’t mind, I just....I want you to be safe she said I sound like your mother right now she said and rolled her eyes at herself. kind of awesome? Only kind of? she frowned slightly, of course teasingly. You know I am the most amazing person you will ever meet in your life she grinned at him and kissed him. Just try and deny it and get the death stare if you do she laughed. Aidan knew that a lot of what she was saying right now, she wasn’t being serious. Kayla didn’t usually take herself seriously, she didn’t see the point because she was so much more laid back and easy going.
She laughed at his lame attempt to scare him and shook her head slightly at how funny it really was. If you say so she laughed. Kayla wasn’t really scared of much and she certainly wasn’t scared of the blackout. Good to know, too bad we can’t go skiing she smiled. Not that Kayla had ever been skiing anyway, she had always wanted to but there was just never a good time. Her father didn’t take much holiday off and it would have been something they would all do together. She smiled as he brushed a strand of her hair away from her face, but then just carried on talking. As if he wasn’t used to her talkative ways anyway, everyone knew it was hard to shut her up, extremely hard if you annoyed her in some way. Oh...yeah and what mood would that be? she asked raising an eyebrow. Good job you’re not in you dorm, your roomie could have wanted to do that exact same thing to you if you had been around, or you’ll come back to your dorm and it’ll all be set up inside there and you’d be locked out, so you would have to come to my dorm she went on. I’m serious, it could happen you know? she smiled.
You ALWAYS get a free ticket she glared at him playfully. I sometimes think that you are dating me just so I can sneak you in the theatre she joked. Of course she knew that was by far the reason but she couldn’t help but tease him, it was something that just came naturally to her when she was around those she loved and it was something that they had all gotten used to over the years of knowing her. You really had to get used to it though; to be her friend, she didn’t really give anyone much choice, of course it depended how comfortable she was with that person and how much she knew them to the extent of the teasing. Aidan got it the most since she had known him the longest time. Exactly, the manager can cut my wages if they don’t like I did it but if I hadn’t they would have gotten loads of complaints so I probably can’t win she shrugged. Yes you should get a job here! Oh you really should, will you? she asked him with a sweet smile. Ew yes, and I don’t even do that, I just sit in the movies make sure people aren’t annoying others and all that crap she filled him in.
Do not mock me Aidan, you know you never win she grinned at him cheekily I always win she smiled at him. Oh and of course my word is law, why would you think anything else? she asked him sweetly. Well isn’t it one of the reasons you love about me? she grinned at him. I know there are many more, so it’s just one of the reasons of course she grinned. Oh PFFT as if we need to have sex for free cinema tickets, you can get them anyway...if that is what you are implying she laughed. Not that she was planning on sleeping with him in the movie theatre, that would be crossing the boundaries just a little, but making out couldn’t hurt right? Well she didn’t think it would, there was nothing wrong with that at all. Although I don’t think we should do that here she laughed We can wait till we get back to the dorms for all that she smiled. She knew that if she did that there would probably have been CCTV somewhere or something to catch people on camera and she would get fired for doing it for sure, there was no doubt about it whatsoever so it wasn’t going to happen. She grinned at him as they kissed; feeling his lips on hers was just great and always made her feel more relaxed. She knew that she’d said they couldn’t do anything further than making out, but she was going to have trouble stopping and if she did, that would ruin the mood. She smiled into the kiss running her hands down his side. Now this is so much better than work she smirked. [/size]
