personality: First and foremost, Jamie is a sporty sort of guy. All through high school he’s enjoyed and excelled in baseball and soccer. It isn’t uncommon for people to presume that he’s just some dumb jock, but Jamie does do quite well in his studies. Sure, he isn’t a straight A student, he tends to hover more around the B mark with the occasional A. One thing that transfers between his sports and his academics however is a good work ethic. Whatever Jamie is doing, he’ll put as much effort as he can into it. One tendency that Jamie has is to speak without really thinking about what he is saying. This often leads to him really putting his foot in it. He rarely however means something maliciously. If he says something that might come off as insulting, it’s simply because he hasn’t thought through what he’s saying. Overall Jamie is a cheerful, happy go lucky guy who likes spending time with his friends.
likes: Sports, girls, food, cats, coffee, action movies, music
dislikes: Rain, dancing, being ill, spiders, being bored
strengths: Good at sports, very friendly, his work ethic
weaknesses: Can be quite stubborn, often says the wrong things, short tempered

It had been a fairly quiet night at the station by the usual standards. Mike was nearly finished with the night shift, having only just over an hour left to go. Then he could go back to his house and just sleep, which was all he wanted to do really. The night shift was definitely a long haul, a tough shift to have. But then again, he had a day off tomorrow so he could sleep for as long as he wanted. Given that it was eight in the morning, things had gotten even quieter, as the residents of Jacksonville began to go about their daily business. Most of the major incidents had a tendency to happen in the early hours of the morning, as drunk party goers were stumbling out of pubs and clubs all over the city. There were generally one or two who were spoiling for a fight. But the night had passed with no major incidents. Now it was just left up to Mike to patrol the area in a squad car. Part of the reason for that was presenting a reassuring presence in the community - letting them know that their police officers were out there doing the job they were paid for.
As he drove through the business district of Jacksonville, a crackling on his radio caught Mike’s attention. Pressing a couple of buttons, he listened to the call coming through. It seemed that an alarm had gone off at the dance studio in town. Automatically, it triggered a call to the police. “I’ve got it.” He sent his reply back through the radio, before turning off at the next junction towards the studio. Personally he thought that it was probably nothing to worry about. After all, 8am in the morning wouldn’t be far away from opening time so you’d have to be really stupid to attempt to break in, especially given that it was getting pretty light. Still though he had a duty to check it out and so that was what he’d do. He pressed his foot down on the accelerator, trying to get there a little bit quicker.
It didn’t take too long to reach the dance studio and as he parked the car, Mike looked towards the building. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary. There were no smashed windows or anything like that. Upon getting out the car, Mike reached for his baton, which was clipped onto his belt and pulled out the telescopic rod so that it was at it’s full length. He jogged towards the door, pressing his hand against it when he reached it. The door swung open - clearly it wasn’t locked. There was no sign of forced entry though. Cautiously Mike pushed through the door. He couldn’t see anyone. “Hello? Is anyone there? It’s the police.” A movement in the corner of his eye made him turn, his baton raised slightly. Just in case whoever was here was inclined to be violent. You could never be too careful.
